Would it be okay to ask you for jdrama recs? Coming from someone who hasn't watched a single jdrama in their life 😊 Kind of a jdrama starter pack please? ❤️
*sweats nervously once again* bc as I said before I honestly don’t like to rec things bc I think my taste is all over the place... 😂 and I'm not one who really pays attention or think about the faults of dramas. I just watch and enjoy (most of the time) lol. It also has only been almost four years for me with watching jdramas so I feel like I'm still pretty new to them haha. but I will try~ and what I mention is honestly more of ones I enjoyed the most watching and can remember!
okaaay! if you want to start out v short and sweet w some 🦋's i have two favorite drama specials 💘
— Tadashi Koi no Hajimekata (2023) | episodes: 01. genres: romance, youth. » there's only one episode but with two different versions! the name mentioned above is the first version and then tadashi koi no hajimekata: horoama? horoniga? date hen is the second version. it basically the same but shows the perspective of the two male leads with additional scenes! i just loved the pairing of mako and eita and their chemistry was soo good and fun. i am still v sad it wasn't an actual full length drama 😭 and the song that played at the end of date version was on repeat for months! 10/10 reccomend ✨
Tumblr media
— An no Ririkku: Sakuragi An Haiku Hajimetemimashita (2021) | episodes: 02. genres: drama, youth. » i remember enjoying this one a lot it was definitely one of my favorite watches in 2021! since this one isn't the freshest in my memory (i have the worst memory fr) i can't say much but i swear i was obsessed w this special and the leads back in 2021!! 😆
Tumblr media
before i get into mentioning actual full-length dramas i'll mention my two favorite jmovies that i actually physically own :)) so if you're interested in watching a movie before diving into dramas 💐
— Murder at Shijinso (2019) | duration: 2hr. 0 min. genres: horror, mystery, thriller, youth. » i love this dumb (affectionately) silly movie so much!! it might also be because i love the main actress hamabe minami but it's definitely just a fun murder mystery to watch :D
Tumblr media
— You're Not Normal, Either! (2021) | duration: 1hr. 38 min. genres: comedy, romance, drama. » i enjoyed this one a lot!!! obviously since i also went out of my way to own it haha. but yeah my reviews for literally everything i like is "i enjoyed it" 😅 but seriously i did 🙇‍♀️
Tumblr media
now for dramas!! i'll mention my two all time faves then ones i remember enjoying the most! 💐
— Talio Fukushu Daiko no Futari (2020) | episodes: 07. genres: comedy, law, mystery. » it's been three years since it aired and i'm still crying about it 😭 it's the one drama i never shut up about and think about all the time. it's my favorite drama of all time like nothing throughout the years has had a hold on me since!! (what i've previously said about it~) | the way both leads played off each other and their chemistry was just- a++ the soundtrack for the drama was also such a treat and the vibes matched it so well! the vibes of the whole drama though!! I think it was also shot beautifully. and the consistency (!!! the way they kept things going even the smallest details !!!) throughout was something i really appreciated and looked forward too :’) i really be missing it everyday... </3 | i literally have a talio collection that i finally completed a few months ago 🥹 i have the dvd, cd, vinyl, and the magazine the leads were on the cover of 🫶
Tumblr media
— Itsuka, Nemuri Ni Tsuku Hi (2019) | episodes: 06. genres: fantasy, friendship, supernatural, youth. » this one still makes my heart hurt whenever i think about it and i just simply love it to pieces. it really has left an lasting impression on me. short and bittersweet. 🖤
Tumblr media
dramas that are romance focused 💓
— Koi wa Tsuzuku yo Doko Made mo (2020) | episodes: 10. genres: comedy, medical, romance. » ahh so i think this was my first jdrama i watched!?! i honestly cant remember if i watched any before this bc this was the first jdrama i actually made gifs of so i'm going off of that as it being the first haha. but if you want something nice and fun to watch with romance at the forefront this is for youuu! bc i feel like most of my recs aren't romance heavy! and i just remember being obsessed with the leads and pretty sure it's what made me continue to watch jdramas 🫣
Tumblr media
— Animals (2022) | episodes: 08 (+ 2 specials). genres: business, romance, drama. » loved loved loved this drama! one out of the five favorite dramas i watched in 2022!! great friendships, great message, funny and sweet moments, lovely lead— umi-chan i miss youuu. 🤧
Tumblr media
— Oshi ga Joshi ni Narimashite (2023) | episodes: 12. genres: comedy, drama, romance. » definitely one of the funnest and sweetest drama i watched last year and suzuki airi (female lead) it's just such soo good, love her acting! she's also the lead in the drama animals i previously mentioned! pure rom-com with great chemistry!! ✨
Tumblr media
— Kieta Hatsukoi (2021) | episodes: 10. genres: comedy, romance, youth. » high school setting with romance/friendship being the focus!! all the characters are so likable and it was such a cute and fun watch!!
Tumblr media
— Ore no Kawaii wa Mousugu Shohikigen!? (2022) | episodes: 09. genres: comedy, romance. » easy fun and cute watch with great leads!!
Tumblr media
dramas with all other kinds of genres (w hints of romance) ✨
— Bishoku Tantei Akechi Goro (2020) | episodes: 09. genres: comedy, food, mystery, thriller. » ooh i was obsessed w the leads of this one as well LOL. idk i really had so much fun watching this one and i loved main female lead a lot. 😭 also it had some really funny moments 😭
Tumblr media
— Toki wo Kakeru Bando (2020) | episodes: 10. genres: comedy, music, romance, sci-fi » #wasnt expecting any crying to happen going into this drama 😩 #miura shohei's performance though?? AMAZING #he had me in tears every time #ryo i love u #not that it's similar but this reminds me of itsuka nemuri ni tsuku hi 🤧 | tags from a post i posted when i watched yeah 😂
Tumblr media
— Dr. White (2022) | episodes: 10 (+ 1 special). genres: comedy, drama, medical, mystery. » also another favorite from my five favorite dramas watched in 2022! even though it wasn't finished being subbed until last year i still very much enjoyed what eps i watched back then! like i really looked forward to every episode and soo grateful the subber decided to finish it and subbed the special as well! i might be bias because i love hamabe minami who's the female lead (and is in two other things i mentioned above lol) but all the characters are v likable and they all have great chemistry together! plus i enjoyed the v subtle hint of romance between the two mains like it isn't really there but it is and i was quite satisfied with the ending. 🫶
Tumblr media
— Ryosangata Riko: Puramo Joshi no Jinsei Kumitate Ki (2022) | episodes: 10. genres: business, drama, life. » i adore the lead so much, she's the cutest! i find this one to be such a fun and relaxing watch! and there's a cute little hint of romance which was soo good to me and wish we got more of them. 😭 there's also a second season: Ryosangata Riko: Mou Hitori no Puramo Joshi no Jinsei Kumitate ki / with same cast members but set in a new universe that just aired last year!
Tumblr media
— Okaeri Mone (2021) | episodes: 120. genres: life, drama, romance. » the number of episodes might scare you but this drama is an asadora (morning drama) which is only 15 minutes per episode! so if you're looking for a longer watch about life with a bit of romance i 10/10 recommend checking it out!! yes hello i always miss them 😭
Tumblr media
what i'm currently watching ☕️
— Uchi no Bengoshi wa Te ga Kakaru (2023)| episodes: 11. genres: comedy, law, mystery. » i totally have a thing for law and mystery dramas lol. but i've been enjoying this one a lot and recommend if you want something fun but somewhat serious to watch! and if you just like law dramas like mee 😂
Tumblr media
— Nanyobi ni Umareta no (2023) | episodes: 09. genres: drama » this one is keeping me really interested and is definitely a type of drama i haven't really watched much of?? it's engaging, surprising and the actors are great! i feel like most dramas i mentioned are easy going ones to watch besides a few so this one is the latter!
Tumblr media
+ special mention if you wanted to watch something base on an manga w anime-like feel ❈
— Kishibe Rohan wa Ugokanai (2020 - 2022) | seasons: 03, episodes: 03, 03, 02. + a movie Rohan au Louvre (2023) genres: horror, fantasy, mystery, thriller, supernatural. » i had been watching since the first one came out in 2020 and i didn't think we would be getting a season every year since and then even a movie! definitely check out if you're in the mood for creepy mystery with pleasing visuals + great outfits!
Tumblr media
yeaaah that's it from me! ✌️ i feel like this isn't much of a starter pack-friendly list since it's kind of all over the place sorry 😭 but hope even just one peaks your interest!!

ok my dash (mostly you) have convinced me to listen to the pastels. planning on running through their whole discography but in your personal opinion, top 10? ik youve probably already answered this sort of ask so no pressure B) <3
haha i will convice people to listen to the pastels til the day i die. The main thing to know is that they are a very, very varied band with a lot of distinct ‘eras’ of different types of sounds. Early pastels is very grungy, looser, a bit weirder and louder, and eventually they find their footing, slightly softer but more of a solid sound before becoming really sort of.. transcendental? that’s the best way i can describe the later stuff. and i am going to be honest, i love all of it equally! there really is not a bad (or even less than exceptional) pastels release imo. however i’m gonna start off by saying my personal favorite album is ‘sittin pretty’ which is not on most streaming platforms! but i do think it’s really wondeful as a peice. I’m just gonna throw out a handful of tracks i think are interesting for various reasons, in no particular order.
(though if you listen to one album, up for a bit is probably a good start, it’s wonderful and a good intro)
-Comin’ Through
this is the song that got me into the pastels, and my father before me! It’s like.. the gateway song. you hear it, you’ve never heard anything like it before and you need to hear more.
-Swerve
my personal favorite of the earlier/middle era! it’s loud, its chaotic, it’s fast, it has fucking eugene kelly featuring on it.. i loooove this song.
-Yoga
This is one of the songs that kind of hints towards where they would go later on but is a bit less calm? I love it a lot
-Worlds of Possibility
theres two versions of this one! an ep version and one on mobile safari. i reccomend you listen to the mobile safari version first, it’s more straightfoward, but both are exceptional.
-Thru Your Heart (Home recording)
This is an oddball, i’m reccomending it to kind of highlight the.. spiritual quality of the pastels? this is a really shoddy recording but it has a beauty i can’t really describe.
-Tokyo Glasgow
following that up, this is kind of similar as it is also a deeply deeply emotional track, it’s got this quality that just.. cuts you.
- Speeding Motorcyle 2
I’m listing this one and not their other speeding motorcycle cover, because this is specifically an instumental that just showcases how fucking insane they are with orchestral arangements, it’s a really moving instrumental that i really dig
-Nothing To Be Done
i can’t say that ‘this is the one people know’ because the pastels are not a band that is known wildly ouside of certain circles but nothing to be done is their most popular song and that is for a reason!!!
-Kicking Leaves
I post this one a lot. It makes me feel really warm, it’s sad but lovely.
- and for number 10.. i’m gonna cheat and give you two ‘kind of’ pastels tracks because there are soooo many pastels tracks and i also just feel like shouting out two really cool things.
1) Illumanati is an album of remixes of pastels songs, and it’s a…stacked list. i really love cornelius’ ‘windy hill’ remix but also if you’re a stereolab or my bloody valentine fan or really into 90’s indie at all you will recognize a name or two who did a remix
2) stephen pastel/stephen mcrobbie is alive and well to this day and one of his most recent projects was providing the soundtrack to a play called ‘this is memorial device’ that premiered at the edinburgh fringe fest a while ago. And the soundtrack to it is coming out soon with the first two tracks currently available to stream and they have already made me sob and i need to see that show so bad i might puke
but yes like by all means do a tour around their discography, it’s a decent amount of stuff but you can probably do it pretty stress free, it’s not a major project. I would just be mindful that some of their albums (including some of the most important ones) are not on all streaming platforms so take a look at their discography first as to not miss anything major!
i’m glad you’re interested in the pastels, they’re a band that genuinly has made me feel things no other form of art ever has been able to.

tagged by @fullmetalscullyy, @firewoodfigs and @littlewitchbee for the greatest hits of 2023. ty all for the tag!!! i admit, it did take me a little bit to think of 10 diff things that i found good, so a new addendum to my usual 5 new years resolutions is to make a point of noting down these good things, lest they be lost to the ether like the others haha
my beloved eri came to visit me and it was such a joy to welcome her into my home and just talk and gossip. we got to feed penguins!!! i got to show her the milky way!!!! we got drunk and watched hunger games with emma. i'm so blessed to have friends that are so dear i want them to come crash at mine and i want more of these sorts of things to happen (as best we all can in a cost of living crisis lmaooo).
speaking of friends, i'm pleased to say that i was able to grow my small group of friends -- online and off -- to slightly-less-small! y'all know who you are, and i'm grateful to each and every one of you <333
i got a lot of tattoos. they're dope. my artist is like my tumblr feed personified. she just Gets It.
i built my own pc!!! it was a very scary and intimidating process, but she runs baldurs gate 3 like a CHAMP. (anything for my astarion).
i successfully finished nano, and now this month i'm basically doing another nano as i try to finish up this new fic. i cannot believe that i've broken 100k words and i'm STILL not done. maybe with a 150k draft i'll have a story in a coherent plotline (doubtful. i waffle a lot. rip moobeam who promised she'd edit it for me).
i've also gotten back into reading fiction a little more seriously -- entirely because of emma, but i am very grateful for her reccomendations. there's a few of us doing a bookclub and i cannot wait to have a discussion this month when we're all at the halfway mark!!! it's gonna be lit.
in other real life stuff, i worked really hard to build up my savings. hopefully 2024 will bring more money to me, or at least i'll get a better handle on my spending. (she says, despite booking flights and holidays HAHAH).
part of that ethos was investing in pieces of clothing/accessories that would stand the test of time, and i want to continue these kinds of purchases into the new year. i think the next big purchase for me will be a replacement pair of leather boots -- my current ones are getting towards the end of their life with the inner sole.
despite working full time, i also completed two seperate courses for study! one was directly related to work, but the other was for purely personal pleasure: an introductory course for tikanga māori. the next step of the tikanga course wasn't avail for me this year, so instead i've signed up for night classes for te reo māori instead. i want to incoporate more reo into my work and feel more confident in conversations, so this was a natural step. i've also got another work-related course on my plate too, so i will be a very busy bee for 2k24 hehe.
in 2023 my health had to take a bit of a backseat but in the last few months i was able to get back on top of it! this year is already off to a great start for me: i'm getting back down to a more comfortable weight, my strength is still improving, and my mental health and sleep hygiene are feeling more... within my control??? i've sorted out my priorities a bit there. turns out living on 4 hours of sleep on the regular isn't healthy lmfao
tagging @beesbeesdragons, @mountainhaunt, @liquorisce, @soufflegirl, and @dairogo -- only if y'all want to!

"About the Blogger" Meme
Thanks for tag @bioloyg <3
Star Sign(s): Scorpio Sun (I literally never remember my other ones, I should probably memorize them)
Favorite Holidays: Christmas and Halloween. even tho i find it harder to feel the holiday spirit up until the very last minute i love christmas so much. and not even to be corny but its true that when you grow up you start to care less about the presents and more about the memories with family and friends.
i grew up in a religous family so my parents didnt let me celebrate halloween but i still love it with my whole heart. im a november baby so i love fall and all things eerie and spooky.
Last Meal: McDonalad's snack wrap and one of those new fruit splash drinks. its exam season so ofc im eating like shit. will probably eat some ice cream when i get home after my physiology exam in 30 minutes. so yay to junk food
Current Favorite Musician: currently ive been really enjoying pinkpantheress. her new album is literally 10/10. she has such a knack for melodies, and her lyrics are very eerie and poetic while maintaining a cutesy 2000s vibe. shes also a sampling queen.
honoarble mentions: ive been listening to a lot of janet, rosalia and red velvet these days too.
Last Music Listened To: feedback by janet Jackson. bro istg you have to clear the area when this comes on, i cant help but dance
Last Movie Watched: last movie i watched was bride wars. honestly a classic movie, so funny and i love wedding movies so i reccomend it. that was a month ago tho, which is crazy.
Last TV Show Watched: like the wonderful person who tagged me i watched the bear last. i just rewatched s02e01. ive been doing this thing where i'll either rewatch episodes for research, boredom or just because i get sucked in rewatching a specific clip that makes me want to rewatch the whole episode.
Last Book/Fic Finished: last fic i finished was keeping up with the berzattos by chefskiss40 on ao3. ive reread it like 3 or 4 times now and im patiently waiting for an update. its just so good, i love the domestic vibes. im not a fan of seeing my ships start families in canon but in fic? oh i could read that forever
Last Book/Fic Abandoned: not really abandoned but sorta modified? the sydcarmy high school au i started in the summer was a good concept but i didnt really have a concrete idea where the overall story would go. BUT im planning on maybe doing a series which is just a collection of one shots of them in HS? OR i plan on doing a multi-chapter shorter story that is an AU that also takes place in a high school setting but with a twist that i dont want to reveal bc that would mean i would have to commit to it. lol
Currently Reading: nothing. unless you count all these articles/research papers I've been reading for my health research studies course (think i aced the exam yesterday so maybe all the pain was worth it)
Last Thing Researched for Art/Writing/Hyperfixation: doesnt really count as research but basically i was on pinterest creating boards for 3 different fics. was researching wedding dresses for a nat & syd fic where they go wedding dress shopping (will be finishing after my last exam). also just creating two other boards to inspire myself to start the au i teased above and my bones and all AU/retelling i talked about last month. i want to watch some more cannibalism media and maybe research about 80s pop culture and politics before i dive into that one fully.
Favorite Online Fandom Memory: ummmm probably just being a menace on twitter with my friends that i made through being a reveluv. we talk every single day, and they are some of the best people i know. maybe the times we used to get up early or stay up late for comeback season, watch the kcharts being updated hourly and crack jokes about group we liked and didnt like
Favorite Old Fandom You Wish Would Drag You Back In/Have A Resurgence: technically THG is having a resurgence right now but im way too into the bear to really get back into it and also i havent seen the new movie. im excited to once exam season is done but i feel like the hype is already dying so i dont see myself getting too into it.
Favorite Thing You Enjoy That Never Had an Active or Big "Fandom" but You Wish It Did: uhhhh cant think of one tbh.
Tempting Project You're Trying to Rein In/Don't Have Time For: honestly every sydcarmy fic idea i have that would take multi chapters to flesh out. one shots are very safe for me. but im praying i'll commit to it. esp the bones and all AU lol
this was fun
tagging some ppl to do this too, only if you want!

Is someone were to start watching dimention 20 . What series(?) would you reccomend n where ?
omg omg okay okay so i'd say there are so many different routes you can take depending on what genre you like!! this is truly so hard omg. i can start off by saying most seasons are on a subscription service called dropout which is the only subscription service i will be paying for in my life (unless you're counting a patreon as a subscription service), but they also have a youtube where they've released a couple full seasons.
i'm putting Escape From The Bloodkeep at the top because a) Villainous Found Family, b) free on youtube, and c) there's an NPC named J'er'em'ih. It's a Lord of the Rings knockoff from the perspective of the villains who are dorks and also queer. Found family to the max and so many bits.
i will be crunching this post because it is LONG! genres galore!
if you want Drama: A Crown of Candy is a Game of Thrones/Candy Land mashup. The Ravening War is the prequel. Both of them have a nonzero chance of making you cry and Do have permanent deaths. A Court of Fey and Flowers is the other drama but it's. queer Bridgerton with fairies. no angst many flowers and there's LETTER WRITING and a RUMOR PHASE
Coming Of Age: Fantasy High Freshman Year, Sophomore Year, Junior Year, and The Seven. While I think t7 is higher in quality than Freshman Year, you do need FY for context. either way, both feel as realistic as an adventuring school can be to an actual coming of age story.
Misfits and Magic is also a Coming of Age and an homage and just. a fabulous piece in general which I think is a GREAT introduction (if you have dropout)! it's a group of people going "how much can we poke fun at jk rowlings books bc we grew up on those but we Don't Like Her and actually her system is trash?" it's a smaller cast using the kids on brooms system, and, once again, it's queer and coming of age and found family. there's a wet cat of a man if that's what you need in your life.
Horror Seasons: Neverafter and Burrow's End are the two Overtly Horror seasons and they both pull it off very well. Neverafter is found family. Burrow's End is a literal family (of stoats) (not anthropomorphized, just plain stoats). they're Good Horror.
The Unsleeping City (Part I) is also very good. only filmed media that's made me cry. i can't speak to part ii specifically because i did not vibe with the virtual filming style. i got dropout because of Pirates of Leviathan, but i had the context of s1 and s2 of fantasy high so. idk man. is this coherent?
romance: Shriek Week and A Court of Fey and Flowers. Monster dating sim and Fairy Bridgerton. i'm not a dating sim person so i couldn't really do shriek week but ACOFAF. Man. That season.
Mystery: Mentopolis. I cannot tell you how much I loved Mentopolis. such a good season. Hank Green is there. Mike Trapp (creator of J'er'em'ih) is there. It's truly just tropes tropes tropes. everything is a pun.
Mentopolis also fits under action, which is what I would put Coffin Run under as well. Coffin Run my beloved. 2 vampires a wannabe-vampire and a jewish-old-man-who-misses-his-wife walk into dracula's castle and go. "hey we're your favorites, right?"
i'm so sorry. i hope this helped. i really love this show man. there's very few seasons i couldn't finish and 20 seasons out right now (the 21st is coming out every wednesday starting last week) and while there are MORE seasons like A Starstruck Odyssey (scifi comedy, 10/10 no notes) this is a long post to say. TLDR: you gotta know what style of show you like. my friend and i both watch it but she REFUSES to watch fantasy high and i can't stomach A Crown of Candy but we still both watch other seasons.

maybe weird ? but ive always wanted 2 watch adventure time. but the sheer size of it intimidates me.. would i be able to watch fionna and cake as a sort of first dip into it?
to be honest, the size IS intimidating, but considering each episode is literally like 10 mins long (and the fact that it gets like. insanely better even just season by season) id reccomend taking a shot even if youre intimidated!! the first two or so seasons are pretty slow (kids show) & alot of those episodes are skippable, i SWEAR somewhere on tumblr someone made a watchlist of the best episodes but i cant find it atm :(
if its still too intimidating ! if you know general stuff about adventure time already, you could probably start with fionna and cake! there'll be a lot of stuff u dont pick up on and personally i really love how it is as an epilogue, but its a good start. (personally i think its kinda. better than adventure time itself. not every original at episode but its probably just cuz im older now)
personally. i'd watch every season 1-3 episode with Marceline in it (im biased) (s1: ep12, ep 22 - s2: ep1, ep20, ep26 - s3 ep3, ep10, ep21) (also because often episodes w her in it show a good amount of plot & character relationships and worldbuilding. obviously theres more like these but every marceline episode is good) and then Incendium (s3 ep26) and further, which id say is sort of the point in the show where the actual order of episodes and timeline is important
count how many times i say personally on this post . fionna and cake has a buncha big spoilers that i think are much better when watching the show itself, but i get that its freakishly long hdjsbjd. if you watch fionna and cake you'll probably want to watch adventure time after anyway (though its a LOT sillier) so do whatever ur heard desires!

This story reminds me a lot of monster in the best way possible The way you thread stories and characters is very good. By any chance have you read monster or any other manga and if so do you have any recs? If not then I highly reccomend it, I think you'll really like it.
Monster happens to be my favorite manga 😳
In all honesty, that story still has a place in my heart even today, so much so that I even based some of Owen's personality from Tenma lmao. But I didn't realize it captures the same mood as well! You've got no idea how much happy I was that HM has been compared to Monster for the second time now.
Monster was the best I've seen in terms of a story combining the twists and turns along the plot with the development of the characters--I didn't even think Eva would be so interesting right at the end--and, well, I suppose I have the same goals for writing HM.
Sadly, I haven't been reading manga lately, and I feel like Monster is really just on a league of its own (or maybe I've just forgotten what I've read before) but I do have a couple of recs! Please keep in mind that I have read most of these stories at a time when I wasn't exactly quite of age yet, so there might be some here that doesn't portray its themes as well as I once thought.
Pluto - This is the author's other work, actually! It's about a robot detective who's trying to find the perpetrator behind the continuing robot and human deaths. The story's not as good as Monster's, but it's also thought-provoking, and the depths of the characters are magnificently shown through limited panels. Naoki also has this one called 20th Century Boys but I haven't checked it out yet.
Parasyte - So, this one's a psychological horror, and I remember it being one of the few that got me thinking a lot about societal norms and the concept of altruism vs selfishness. It's sad--some of the scenes really got to me--and full of contradictions, yet somehow everything about it is beautiful. I haven't checked out the anime, though, so I'm not sure how different it would be, but there are exactly three scenes in the manga that will always haunt me.
Boku Dake Ga Inai Machi - I remember being surprised at how serious the themes were for a manga that partially centered on the lives of children. It got too heavy for me at times as a teenager, mostly because some of the scenes in there hit too close to home, but everything from the mystery to the characters were all brilliant! I'd highly advise you to be wary of the content warnings, though, as it really doesn't shy away from showing those.
To Your Eternity - I actually haven't finished this one, but only because I lost someone at the time when I was reading it, but I think it handles the concept of grief and survival quite well. Cried at the beginning 10/10.
A few webtoons that may be worth reading as well:
Gepetto
Bastard
Sweet Home (I'm sorry but the live adaptation doesn't do it justice)
Dark Mortal

Reccomendations for cartoons to watch include: Gravity Falls, Adventure Time, Regular Show, the later seasons of MLP Friendship is Magic (for the sake of completing it and being able to properly evaluate the show), Steven Universe, DuckTales 2017, OK KO, Big City Greens, Star vs the Forces of Evil, Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, Kim Possible, Hilda, Helluva Boss, Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated, She Ra 2018, and the Ben 10 franchise.
I actually still have another ask that is mostly this same list but I think Hilda and Helluva Boss are new. Mostly responding because something I find interesting about myself given how ruthless I can be with TOH is that, well...
I probably will never truly be able to be some big reviewer because when I start disliking something, I drop it. That's actually the big reason I'm responding is because there is NO WAY I am watching the like 4+ seasons of MLP:FiM that I didn't watch because I just can't engage with stuff I dislike. I find no joy in it and while I can rant for a couple episodes, it just loses my interest.
I never seek things out because I think I'll dislike them. I just don't think life is enjoyable that way. It's why I have no plans to return to Helluva Boss. I absolutely believe people would potentially send me asks about it with how polarizing it is but I got to the episode when Moxie and Blitzo are interrogated, went "Ah, I see, the two characters I hate the most and don't even find funny (Stolas and Blitzo) are the actual main characters and the pilot was potentially kind of a lie for what the real focus of the show is. I'm out." And I haven't watched an episode since. My brain struggles to click with media after all so why would I bother with media I actively know I dislike already?
I'll comment on a couple others that I have at least had experience with on the list in a minute but since Amphibia, I've watched the first season of Craig of the Creek and think that show is just AMAZING. There's at least one episode I keep wanting to do a blog on just because it exemplifies how much the show understands the wonder of fantasy and childhood without actually being fantastical. I've also seen S1 of SpyxFamily and some of S2 but right now the only streaming service I have consistent access to is Hulu (the Disney+ I was borrowing cancelled theirs to swap to Hulu) and they only have S1 dubbed of SpyxFamily.
I'm hoping to sometime soon actually watch Over the Garden Wall finally and just have been kind of a mess as of late as for why I haven't yet. I've heard only good things, and shockingly few spoilers, and it's about time I gave it a proper shot.
ANYWAYS:
Steven Universe: Watched the first episode and only really liked Greg so just didn't bother watching more. Steven was fine but I actively hated all three of the gems because of how brain dead they were in both segments of the episode. As far as pilots go, I think SU might genuinely have one of the worst I've ever seen for convincing you to like a main cast.
Gravity Falls: I rewatched the first episode recently and went "This is oooookay." Something about Dipper's VA just bothers me. Not like they're doing a bad job but that it falls into an uncanny valley my brain doesn't love. I really wish I could better explain why that show refuses to properly click for me.
Regular Show: I forget why but I've seen a few episodes. It's not bad but I don't think it's really for me. I find Rigby and Mordecai annoying more than anything else. Not awful but I think without it feeling like they're actually meant to be learning something, they fall into the trap Randy and Howard from Randy Cunningham fell into eventually for me where I was like "Okay, assholes can be fun for a while but if that's all you're ever going to be, I don't care."
Adventure Time: I have seen as many episodes where Fiona and Cake show up in that show than I have Finn and Jake. XD I have genuinely liked what I've seen and just for some reason never sought it out. Maybe someday.
Star Vs: I need to give S2 a chance but MAN when I got told they break up Marco and Jackie for NO REASON I lost a lot of interest in the show. I like Marco more than Star, and I've only seen S1, and thought Marco and Jackie's relationship was genuinely really nice and kind of unique. Also knowing it's most people's cartoon punching bag doesn't exactly fill me with enthusiasm for it.
Kim Possible: I remember rewatching the pilot a couple years ago and being shocked by how much I didn't care for Kim. I think the fact that Bonnie is the only one who gives her shit but she's actually just genuinely amazing at everything and liked by most make her just not compelling to me which is a shame because I have REALLY fond memories of the show. I'd probably commit to a rewatch of Danny Phantom first though since it has been just as long since I watched that.
(Weird fact: I was looking at Hulu's unfortunately limited amount of cartoons and saw they had Kick Buttowski of all things which is WILD to me.)
She-Ra: I've seen literally one episode, thought it was good, and definitely is one of the ones I keep telling myself to watch because everything about it seems like it'd be up my alley. These are also my thoughts on Voltron though with how much... less divisive that last season of Voltron is, it's definitely below watching Princesses of Power.
Ben 10: Loved the original series as a kid, tried the first two spin offs that came out and didn't really jive with either but I thought Julie, the tennis girl Ben gets with, was super cute. I know a friend who would LOVE to see me get into Ben 10 and do some reviews of it.
And just as an anime shout out, a part of me is still tempted to give Little Witch Academia another try. Not only is it just an obvious next show for me to watch but it's one I REALLY want to like because I like a lot about it... I just absolutely despise Akko from the like four episodes I watched a good number of years ago now. I thought almost all of the supporting characters were great though.
Just... Consider this my weird, rambly blog late at night about cartoons and the fact that I do wish I engaged with media better. One of the worst elements of it is that I don't engage well with scripted content well if my brain isn't already in an alright place. Like I don't go to television for distraction and cheering me up. I vastly prefer streams for that as I can actually turn my brain off during those normally. It's something I've talked about before and something I'd like to change. Heck, I even at one point had a therapy goal to watch something at least once a week since that'd still be easier than streaming or writing. Whoops. *sigh*
I do also appreciate the recommendations! The reminders are good sometimes since I don't feel like I actually stay in the loop all that well. And since I kind of assume this is the same person who sent a list before, I decided I felt like actually responding, especially because the MLP pitch is an interesting one but man... That's a LOT of Starlight Glimmer I'd have to put up with when just like six episodes of her as a good guy made me want to light both her and Twilight on fire to put them out of their, and mine, misery. That's without me getting into the fact that I just think the characters in general got worse by then, almost like series shouldn't last for that long because finding new angles on characters becomes REALLY HARD (says the dumbass with a series of his own that honestly is longer than he should reasonably plan a story for.)
Again, late night rambling while my brain deals with suddenly snapping out of a hyper focus on a game for three days and doesn't deal with that well. *sigh* Have a good night everyone, take care of yourself and see you next tale.

Five Newer Rom-Comsthat Hit like the Classics
On a cozy night in, my besties and I are 27 Dresses, Miss Congeniality, and 13 Going on 30 people. And with a certain holiday just around the corner, I'm ready for Love, Actually. But sometimes I like to branch out of my Bewitchd, Coyote Ugly, 10 Things I Hate About You cave and try something released after, like, 2004.
Here are some newer... sort of... Rom Coms that hit the same spot:
1. To All the boys I've Loved Before, 1, 2, and 3 I am WEAK for Noah Centineo, alright? I fell for Peter Kavinsky right along with Lara Jean. Also, Lara Jean is an absolute Pink Academia icon with her love of romantic literature, and a story that develops towards whether to choose a university for herself or for love. Not to mention, I want, like, her entire wardrobe.
2. Always Be My Maybe A perfect "will they? won't they?" combined with "ships in the night" and Keanu Reeves is there. I loved Ali Wong as Bertie in Tuca and Bertie- which is one of the shows I reccomend to everyone!- so I had to check this out. I wasn't disappointed. It is really sweet movie that made me smile.
3. Isn't it Romantic? Its kind of an anti-romcom that hits all the beats of the classics in both a send-up and a really sweet homage to the genre. I had so much fun with this one, and I would take a week in Fantasy RomCom Land!
4. Crazy Rich Asians Getting it out of the way first, I adored the books and I don't think the film is a good adaptation. BUT I think it is a lovely movie as a standalone, full of fun, scandalous levels of drama, and the same amount of OTT glitz and glam as the book.
5. The Lovebirds The Lovebirds is truly hilarious. Leilani and Jibran get themselves entangled in a murder mystery plot and discover a lot about thmselves and their relationship along the way. I genuinely laughed a lot and thought that Leilani and Jibran had a believable relationship, even in a totally unbelievable plot.

Hi again......If you don't mind, can I ask, what are your top 10 (or top 7) favorite media (can be books/ manga/ anime/movies/tv series)? Why do you love them? Sorry if you've answered this question before......Thanks....
Ooh mhm!
Bungou Stray Dogs! I probably don't need to explain this one hsgsjshh the brainrot is real and all the characters are just so loveable.
2. Fruits Basket! It's just so cute and fluffy! It's hard not to fall in love with the show.
3. Ouran high school host club! Haruhi is just such a mood and it really does feel exactly like a club should, with all the friendships and fun and its just. Good vibes.
4. The Shadow and Bones series! Specifically the books, they're all wonderful and I highly reccomend them! The writing is just done so well and it's a fun fantasy read.
5. Percy Jackson! I actually haven't seen the series yet so I can't say much on that, but the way factual mythology is used in the books is super interesting and it's just such an addictive series!
6. Toilet Bound Hanako-kun! I am incredibly biased on this one considering it was one of the first things I watched all the way through amd got all of the manga for, but it's so fun!
7. Horimiya! The most relatable and heartwarming show you've ever seen, would 100% reccomend.
8. Ooh the Persona series! I haven't seen all the way through the animations yet but the games are absolutely stunning and incredible as well as the story.
9. Trigun! Vash the Stampede is such a loveable little guy, and I love how the pacing and tone changes throughout the show.
10. The case study of Vanitas! Vanitas and Noé make a wonderful duo hehe, and it's just a really great manga!

There you are! Hello! Hiya! Hows it going! Tis I, Ohkae, Kae, or the unsettling vibe in the corner!
Tumblr media
And so far so good! Got into the Amazing Digital Circus, the show and concept is very cute- and I really love @stories-of-the-multiverse's takes on Ragatha and whatnot. Muwah to Snel, tbh--
Tumblr media
Otherwise I'm enduring the holidays, playing video games and the like. Got REALLY into FF16, and replayed a indie game called Inscryption. Big reccomendation if you're into games like that, to enter it blind as possible and find any and every secret you can. Trying to play through rain code but.. distractions and life, blahblahblah. Oh! And I'll be getting to watching Blue eyed Samurai and the new Scott Pilgrim show soon enough. So ive been.. busy but okay? Also REALLY got into Oshi no Ko, so there's that. Alongside Trigun.. Actually have been working on cosplays for Ai, Meryl and Makima! Anyway, if you can, you should TOTALLY watch Oshi no Ko, Trigun Stampede, and Chainsaw man. 10/10 would reccomend.

I have not touched this account in like a year..
Anyways
Here's some books/series I've read this year!
>The Wolf Den(trilogy) by Eloide Harper; MC is an enslaved prostitute in Pompeii trying to get herself free. I've only red book 1 so far, but it shows an amazing and unglamoized view of a prostitutes daily life while also writing the prostitutes as human girls and not just objects. Love it sm <3
>All of Us Villians & All of Our Demise by Amanda Foody & Christine Lynn Hernan; A multiple pov story about basically a mini hunger games with magic, but a modern setting. Some characters work to destroy the curse making them fight, and some only want to win and I love it. And the characters are so <3 <3 <3 I LOVE them—they're flawed and self-serving, but also kind and altruistic at times. It's amazing 10/10 would reccomend.
>All For The Game trilogy by Nora Sakavic; MC is a runaway from his serial killer father and the goddamn yakuza who joins a d1 exy(made up sport) team filled with misfits. It's really fun and really a great read. 10/10, don't recommend without some trigger warning checks because holy fuck that was something
>Six of Crows & Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo; Multiple pov story about a gang in a fantasy setting going on a heist. It is so fun to read and the plot twists?? Amazing. Characters?? Stellar. Morals?? Not even gray they are pitch black. It's technically part of a longer series with Shadow and Bone all that, but I only read soc and ck because I cannot with the chosen one romance, and they can be read without it soo
The Raven Cycle trilogy by Maggie Stiefvater; Multiple pov story about a very close friend group hunting for a dead lost king and meeting with magical forests. Ik it sounds insane but it's soo good. Lotsa found family, honestly insane characters but I love them, and no kissing trope but more deadly. Theres a sequel called the Dreamers Trilogy, but I didn't read it past the first few chapters cause I'm sorry but it's just not the same :( Anyways love it, 10/10 read it
That's all cause I'm gonna be so honest I mostly read fanfics, and some of these i may have started in 2022 cause I don't keep track that well but... oh well

My Personal Ranking of the MazM Games
Lawd im going insane so. Making this ranking. Excluding Yellow Bricks of course. Keep in mind this will not inherently judge the quality of the games moreso my enjoyment so feel free to disagree :) i would love to hear everyones opinions
HYDE AND SEEK SWEEP!!!
Imo theres nothing wrong with HNS (a lie there probably is but shhh). The characters are solid, the plot can fall a little flat at times but MazM said they prioritized making memorable characters more as they can be taken out of the story and used in multiple re-imaginings. They were pretty successful in doing just that. If we didn't have hns we wouldn't have Alan... mai waifu...
Kate is a good protagonist! She's a smartass and an absolute hothead but a load of fun. Pollie is literally a sopping wet meow meow tumblr would love her if HNS was actually popular. I don't think you guys need to know my opinion on Alan (beautiful gorgeous all that is good in the world). Mihir is good South Asian representation:) hes witty and sympathetic. Shoutout to Crack for actually making him look South Asian... so real for that. Bishop is an amazing antagonist like holy shit it may just be my bias but idk she got me tweaking. Of course you got the OG characters like Jekyll and Hyde, although I must admit Jekyll was fucking tweaking lawd that wasn't Jekyll that was his evil brother Jackson.
Art is really good too! Crack was working solo on this project and their art is soooo good, not Maha's painted style but it definitely works for the setting. The watercolor makes sure its not visually boring. The gameplays really fun! If a bit difficult, but I managed to finish the game 3 days after release. It's refreshing after the previous interactive book style games we had before. Honestly I'd reccomend it to any new MazMians and it's very easy to get into :) It's like MazM's tribute to JNH which made them popular in the first place.
2. It's Pechka time. Pechkas all over the place.
Ok ok so. I'd actually say Pechka is a masterpiece. Like literally nothing wrong with it story/characterwise. The story isn't as weak as HNS and it takes itself a lot more seriously. It is MazMs first historical game and it is really educational! Korean rebellion in Russia is a very interesting topic to explore. I didn't even know about it till I played this game.
It was their passion project, it's clear they were very excited to share a story that dealt with their culture so personally. The love shows through the research and dedication they put into it. The characters are sos so so gooood like. Back when I was smaller, I used to scoff at Pyotr for being selfish but. Nowadays hes my poor meow meow malewife. He'd do rounds on tumblr if he was popular. Asya too theyre literally the malewife girlboss dynamic. Pyotr and Asyas relationship is so fucking complicated but lawd they compliment each other perfectly. Daejin, Lizaveta, and Kyuhan have such a sweet story together and just. Aughhhhh.
The art done by Maha and Crack is interesting. The art style uses hatching and it's more simplistic compared to the painted art styles of prior. They primarily focused on making sure the characters actually looked ethnic Korean. The colors assigned to each characters omg... I LOVE WHEN CHARACTERS HAVE A SIGNATURE COLOD THAT REPRESENTS THEM TO A T! The CG cards at the end though... THERES NO HAPPY ENDINGS!!! Some are more bittersweet/neutral. But I think the CG cards do have a wide range of emotions and effectively carry the endings well.
The only problem of this game is the coins which makes it rlly tedious. Pechka is a bit slow burn, so the fact you can only play 2 eps a day is a bit... of a drag. Theres like 10 endings and no log to keep track of what dialouge youve gone through. Like i get you cant replay it without replaying the entire story bc of the endings system unlike jnh or poto or hns but at the very least i wish there was a log to keep track. The footnotes too like, we cant even replay induvidual episodes to find more footnotes which is a bit infurating. It follows the interactive book style of the previous games but the 10 endings give it a new twist.
But yeah on a technical level i might rate it the same level if not higher than hns. Just with hns i found more enjoyment and not many faults :)
3. Thy Creature,,,
Lawd I think you all know how I feel abt Thy Creature. But I'll break it down. Early access Thy Creature had so much potential to be a modern masterpiece it's actually unreal. It was doing something new by being a midquel game rather than prequel/sequel/1 to 1 adaptation. The idea of the bosses representing concepts and characters is genius. They messed up once they realized they didn't have enough time to do all they could n its a shame. I wish it could've gotten delayed just so the writing would be baked properly. Story is a lost cause </3 With characters, the characters are good! However. In the new version, EA characters such as Noah, Justine, and Creature, have been character assasinated. Noah got away just barely because his new iteration is not all bad, Justine's character stayed relatively the same however her feelings towards the Creature have been tampered quite a bit. A lot of the Creature's moral dilemmas are stripped away and it is far more emotionless in the new version which SUCKS. Noah and the Creature had such an interesting dynamic in the early version and it had been removed in the final cut </3.
Character motivations have been completely hidden as the new memory system doesn't give them induvidual reactions to memories which SUCKS. Like. Noah lashed out at the Creature because he realized he had forgotten about his beloved orphanage. YOU DON'T GET THAT IN THE NEW VERSION </3333. They made 701 eviller rather than sympathetic in the final version too </3 The characters that were introduced in the final version are just fine though, perhaps because we didn't lose anything, only gained. Leon is a ray of sunshine, Hanna is a milf, Alex is a badass, Ben is sympathetic etc etc They're like a family :) The boss battles r so cool too... Only gripe is EL is a fascinating character and died too soon to feel attachment to.
The art is fucking gorgeous, Maha primarily worked on the art until Crack finishsd HNS and joined 6 months before release. Unfortunately this is the last MazM game the two worked on as they have left the company due to overwork. Their art is practically one of the lead contributions to why people like MazM so much. Thy Creature is beautiful. I like the earlier concepts better with the sketchy/horror aspects, but the new polished art is just as good. The bullet hell gameplay is a neat mechanic! If only it weren't so hard :(((. In demo traliers there was a concept for having text slide across the screen and scenes playing out during the bullet hell. The bullets would be words and you as a player would have to pay attention to the story thats playing out while dodging, which is a fascinating concept too! But, that sort of thing would be very difficult for certain disabilities and just in general hard to deal with, so I understand why they removed it.
This game was not meant to educate like Pechka, but rather be moving. There are no footnotes like the other game which is fine like it is its own thing. I still think it's a lot of fun. Team MazM put their heart in it just like they did with Pechka, it's worth a try if one likes bullet hells :).
4. Phantom of the Opera let's go!!! 🌊🐴 juan
Lawd you guys know how I feel abt it too. But I'll break it down. Story for the first half is book accurate but the second... The changes are uhm. A decision alright. Not a good one but they're there. I did enjoy it a lot but I will admit the quality is a bit meh. It was my first MazM game so there is my bias. Although shoutout to Daroga for going "shut up white boy" to Raoul when he was being a bitch abt SWA. MazM took an anti-racist stance and they are so real for that. The fact they added the Daroga in the first place is good but, they fucking blame him for Erik's actions when whatever Erik did was his own fault??? But also they made Eriks backstory darker and had the audacity to be like. Actually no one hates you for your face Erik lol. Like??? NO???? HE HAS CLEARLY BEEN SUBJECTED TO IMMENSE PERSECUTION FOR LOOKING LIKE THAT HIS TRAUMA ISN'T HIS FAULT??? But I unironically like the episode where they unionize against the shitty managers. First Pay and A Strike is one of the better episodes. They have two endings, one is canon compliant where Raoulstine run away together, and the other is where they go their seperate ways. I think the addition of that second ending is a cool one and brings to mind new opportunities!
For characters, I think the character added to background characters like the dancers and Remy are pretty fun though! The managers are eh tbh like they shouldn't have been that malicious + the accidental racism with Carlotta and Melek. Melek... dear sweet Melek... she is a good character on her own just not in the story she's placed in. Her existence defeats the purpose of the story. She exists as a prop to make Erik look worse which. </3 Erik and Christine are the most butchered characters here like Raoul took their character development. Erik lost all his compassion, becoming a whiny baby. This defeats the purpose in the og book where he shows mercy to Christine by letting her go because she gave him a single act of compassion. The point of POTO was showing compassion and mercy and he just has none of those???? Christine had been reduced to a naive girl that needed to be taught to be strong via Melek. And i know Melek was portrayed as the one in the right and all but they fact they made a brown woman tell a white woman to toughen up leaves a bad taste in my mouth. She shouldn't have been used as a prop like that. I think it's purely accidental how this came off. But yeah Christine in the OG book, she was strong! She told Raoul to piss off many times, her strength was by showing compassion. She threw her fear aside to give a kiss to her captor!!! Raoul here is the best like hands down. I can write an essay for him later but his character development is the best and he is oddly realistic. I think a problem with the og Raoul (reason ppl can't side with him) is the fact his character doesn't translate well through time. Someone made a wonderful post abt og Raoul here! Give it a read it's good. The way MazM translated Raoul is fitting, as he gets far pushier than OG Raoul to some degree, but his development at the end is quite cathartic. They made Raoul sympathetic in another way which could be relatable for some. The OG Raoul was "attractive" because he was willing to give his honod and status away for a lower class woman. MazM Raoul plays with that idea, by placing more pressure on Raoul and making him unhappy with his situation. He is forced by his family to be perfect for them when he is a child at heart. He loves Christine because she is freeing for him. He is a good person, he just lets obsession cloud his judgement. He is the perfect foil to Erik here and just. Yeah I'll get my essay going soon. Not here. Not here.
Art is fucking gorgeous, Maha and Crack worked on it together but IMO Maha takes more prominence with their art style as the painted looks of the cg cards perfectly match the aesthetic. The backgrounds are BEAUTIFUL. The character designs are lovely. Erik is book accurate minus for the color of his mask. He is monstrous and it's awesome. Christine is blonde, just like the book! The starry look of her hair is unusual to people but it's a game, like whatever looks cool yk? It's beautiful she's beautiful. And we can't forget Jimin Raoul. What a look. They were originally gonna make Christine and Raoul both blonde but probably changed hair colors to make sure they didn't look too alike. I think the pink hair does give Raoul the perfect sweet vibes, even if it's a bit outrageous, it's funny and iconic!!! It also puts a nice duality theme between him and Erik, pink and black my beloved. The dancers are cute, love you Jammes. Remy... lawd i want him. The managers look French.
For gameplay, you have the interactive book format, which again isn't too engaging for me, but it's a good casual game and I think good for newcomers as well because the art is appealing. Coin system is meh but tbh better than Pechka. The footnotes are a lot of fun! Interesting stuff to know like. What's in gunpowder, what the fuck is eugenics, etc etc. But it does hilight the footnote system which helps to provide social context and consume in a new light :)
5. Jekyll jekyll hyde jekyll hyde jeky
I don't hate Jekyll and Hyde, it just doesn't capture my interest like the others do. It's not bad at all and one can argue it's better than POTO but. Idk not for me. The story is pretty book accurate with the characters being canon compliant. It's not a bad thing bc POTO was kind of a shitstorm with the changes made, but I don't feel as engaged. Again it's all up to taste. It just feels like MazM didn't bring anything too new to the table which is alright. This is the game that brought MazM to relevance so ofc, it's a special lil guy :)
Art is done solely by Maha but lawd it is GORGEOUS. DILFS FOR DAYS!!! Cg cards are wonderfully composed, sells the atmosphere of the story. Chibis are so silly, it's like Don't Starve.
The gameplay is the interactive book style and uhhh, idk it's okay. Again nothing to write home about. It's a nice game to play on a rainy day :)
Honorable mention: Heartless
I found heartless on qooapp and while I can't play Yellow Bricks, I'll give my 2 cents on heartless.
I have heard the Wizard of Oz games MazM made are quite book accurate. I haven't read Wizard of Oz yet so I can't give my two cents on that. I'll give my two cents on how I felt.
Heartless/Yellow Bricks were MazMs first games. You can definitely tell the influence it has on their other games. How the story is paced etc etc. It's more child-friendly than their later games, but still has quite a bit of grimness to it. After all, it's about the tin man. Maha's art is so so so diff than it is now, YB/Heartless has a far cuter atmosphere where both the sprites and the chibi sprites are both, well, cute. Nicholas... sweet guy </3. Admittedly he does look like a child when he's an adult but they had a vibe to keep up. The witch is a milf. The gameplay is the interactive book style but it leans more into interactive imo. The minigames where you run away are reused in POTO where you run from the flaming skull. But uh in Heartless, YOU RUN AWAY FROM THE AXE THAT'S HACKING AWAY AT NICK. 😟
It's a ministory to explain what's with the tin soldier and oh boy with the short time it had, it pulled at my heart strings and never let go </3. Fun thing. Anyways. The footnotes system don't give any context metawise, just ingame stuff. Which isn't a bad thing as some people are unfamiliar with Wizard of Oz lore so it's good to fill them in on it.

What We Do In The Shadows (Series) Ler Headcanons
Tumblr media
Nandor The Relentless
At first, he wouldn't be a playful ler. He would only really resort to tickling because he sees it as a way to 'punish' and 'maintain power' over puny humans, such as yourself - without causing any harm, of course
For example, if you annoyed him he'd be like, "Fucking hell! Come here, right now - I need to punish you!" , and then proceed to pin you down and scribble his fingers on your sides until you yell out an apology though your helpless giggles
After a few times of him 'punishing' you, he'd start to notice that you make more of an effort to get on his nerves
It's only when you'd start getting giggly as you irritate him, that he realises that maybe you might be doing it on purpose
He'd ask you about it outright, wanting to ensure that you're not just incompetent
If he finds out that you like it? You'd be royally fucked
Starts dishing out reward tickles whenever he thinks that you've been good :)
"You've been very helpful lately, my friend." *wiggly fingers* "Would you like me to give you some tickles?~"
Never purposely teases and is completely oblivious to the effect it has on lees
"C'mon, now! Move your hands out of the way so I can get your tummy~"
"Why are you squirming? I though you wanted tickles?"
10/10 - excellent ler, would reccomend
Tumblr media
Lazslo Cravensworth
God, where do I start with this man?
Mainly uses tickles for two reasons: as a way of bonding, and as a way of annoying you
Is quite an experienced ler, as he and Nadja have tickle fights all the time
KNOWS how to tease a lee
Sometimes, he’ll just come outta NOWHERE and tackle you to the ground before wrecking your shit with a self-satisfied grin on his face
Other times, he prefers a chase - letting you get a few seconds head start before transforming into a bat to hunt you down:
“You have 10 seconds to run, little one ~”
THIS MOTHERFUCKER USES HIS FANGS TO TICKLE YOU
He pretends to eat you, but just really lightly noms on your neck and belly LIKE A MENACE
"Oh dear - look at you wriggling like a little worm! Well, little one, did you know that bats eat worms?” *Proceeds to make ridiculous nomming noises as he tickle-bites*
Gives gentle head-pats after tickles to show that there is no animosity between you
“You’re one adorable little bastard…”
Tumblr media
Nadja of Antipaxos
(I’m gay and I love her)
She is a RUTHLESS ler
Teasy as hell
The main reason she tickles is because she finds their reactions adorable
Lures in unsuspecting lees with cuddles, before trapping them in her arms and just WRECKING them
Has the audacity to wiggle her fingers above a lee and go, “coochie coochie coo!”
“Your little giggles are so cute! I have to hear more of them ~”
Uses her long, pointy fingernails to scratch gently between ribs
When she’s feeling particularly mean, she’ll call her husband over while she’s wrecking you, and proceed to talk about you like you’re not right there
“Lazslo, my dear! Aren’t they just darling? Look at how much they’re blushing!”
When she’s finished tickling her Lee, she gives plenty of hugs to her exhausted victim - usually asking Guillermo to fetch them a blanket and a snack
Evil, but caring ler :)

⭐️10 Characters, 10 Fandoms, 10 Tags⭐️
I was tagged by @just-an-enby-lemon which I can't see on the actual post which I blame tumbr but I was curious to see who I prioritize! The order I do these characters in probably isn't listed in the most to least favorite but they will be top 10 characters!
1. Percy Jackson- The Lightning Thief
YES I am the simpleton who likes main characters but in my defense they were made to be liked!!! This is not my fault. I loved his humor and the way he cared for his friends and the series is still my favorite book series!!!
Tumblr media
2. Asagiri Gen- Dr. Stone
YOU GUYS! I'm so obsessed with this man I bought a figure!!! I'm a sucker for people who seem suspicious but are good people and Gen is just so cool! I love him literally using psychological tactics so they can save the day! The manga has ended and I'm devastated but the new anime season is coming this January so I'm looking forward to that!!! (I have soooo many Gen pics I've saved that I had to look through)
Tumblr media
3. Reigen Arataka- Mob Psycho 100
THIS MAN IS SO GOOD. HE'S BEEN MY FAVORITE EVER SINCE HE DID HIS STUPID "HYPNOSIS PUNCH"!!! WHAT A LEGEND. Honestly he's such a dad and collects espers like currency as he BS's his way through life. I love him so much and I wrote a fic for this fandom and he is definitely in it because I love him. It's almost done too! Had a 5k writing session and now I just have to edit this monster and I'm done!!!
Tumblr media
4. Suzuki Iruma- Welcome to Demon School Iruma-kun
THIS MANGA IS SO UNDERRATED AND IT IS MY ALL TIME FAVORITE ONE!!! I have a hard time picking my favorite character in this manga so main character it is. He's a good boy and I love him learning how to have dreams. I don't like the anime as much as the manga, but I highly reccomend both!!! Season 3 is coming this October and I'm soooo ready!!!!
Tumblr media
5. Sung Hyunjae- The S-Classes that I Raised
GUYS. THIS MAN IS SO GOOD. Not like in a moral sense but I love him. I loved him even before he was handsome through art because the novel gives him so much great content. He's literally so gay for the main character I was genuinely confused if the author was going to have them end up together. He's such a little shit but he's funny and that's all I need from him. Also can confirm that he's pretty, which is also a plus.
Tumblr media
6. Howard Link- D.Grayman
This was a huge battle between Allen and LINK but Link has slowly crept into my heart and taken it hostage. He's a complicated character who you can't tell is going to side with at times, but he does his best even if his decisions are wrong and he trusts the wrong people. Also. He's pretty. I'm a sucker for pretty people i'll be truthful here.
Tumblr media
7. Hulk- Avengers Earth's Mighest Heroes
A lot of people haven't seen this version of the animated avengers show, and that's devastating! Usually Spider-Man is my favorite Marvel character overall but this show really put my love for the Hulk on max. The entire show was a gem, but I loved the interactions Bruce and Hulk had in this show. They had a deal. Hulk would be out, and Hulk would do good. He wanted freedom but he was used to not getting it and had trouble trusting people. HULK WASN'T JUST MUSCLE. He had his own thoughts and feelings. Anyways watch this show.
Tumblr media
8. Billy Batson(Captain Marvel)- DC
I didn't really choose a specific place for where Billy is my favorite character, but he is for sure my favorite! Second place is Dick Grayson because he's Damian's dad BUT ANYWAY. I loved his bright view on the world and the way he kept to his morals. They've changed him a bit from that first impression, but it'll always be my favorite. I also loved the Shazam movie so I guess I'm not too picky lol. He's a good kid and I think he should just not be found out by the Justice League and they can just be confused as Batman tries to figure out why Captain Marvel thinks it's fine to talk like a 10/14 year old.
Tumblr media
9. Phoenix Wright- Ace Attorney
I have never actually played this game but I watched a playthrough through the first one and just got the rest of my knowledge from fanfic lol. But he's a fun quirky guy who means well and I like that about him! Also he's totally in love with Miles Edgeworth so they should really just get married.
Tumblr media
10. Kozume Kenma- Haikyu
I love this anime to bits and this man had my heart from the start. Suga is number two but Kenma is the ultimate favorite. My best friend painted me a haikyu poster with him as the center and I love it to bits. I love his friendship with Hinata and I just think he's neat!
Tumblr media
This was a lot of fun but I started blanking around for favorite characters around number 8 whoops!!! I either went for pretty obscure or well known so there isn't any in between whoops! I can't tag many people bc I have no courage so here is some (you don't have to if you don't want to!) @irumaismybaby @alyss-spazz-penedo @humangerbil @mostlyinconvenient

Edils instant ramen adventure #2: Nongshim Gourmet spicy
Tumblr media
Prev
Because linking these together makes for better future reference.
So I've had this ramen before, and yeah, it is spicy. When I was previously desensitized to it I stopped crying every time I ate it but I can't say I expect that same mercy today. Out of the eight remaining flavors, I chose this one because @powerwordcum recommended a specific way to prepare it that I'd like to try and write about later but first I need to have a recent control taste (very official food blogged business, you understand).
Today I am deadass too lazy to fry any eggs.
Anyway, the preparation for this is simple, it just takes and extraordinary 7 minutes I'm the microwave (really nothing from someone who occasionally likes my maruchan cooked for 12. Usually I don't admit this without being waterboarded, because people react with horror. But for sciences sake)
Upon leaving the microwave, my ramen was dry as fuck because I am a filthy American who has no close what the 700 ml reccomend on the label estimates so and I want about to look it up. Science

I put some more water in
Tumblr media
Stirred and ate!
I noticed that the noodles are semi translucent, making me think they've absorbed some of the soup broth, but I find myself underwhelmed by the flavor when I taste it. While not at all tasing bad, I wouldn't say this tasted strongly in its own right. The noodles are still nicely sheet, however, and pretty thick without being too much so.
I noticed many of the rehydrated flakes (which look to be seaweed and mushroom pieces) stick stubbornly to the edges of the bowl, and the more I eat, it seems, the less broth I have. While I am not eager to enter a chugging competition with some thirsty noodles, I will not back down from a challenge.
Spice level for the noodles is a solid medium-low burn around the tongue, my lips feel pretty normal despite my horse-like slurping. I did get a random throat punch of spice, but that doesn't seem consistent. It's also worth noting that the spice does build if as you continue to eat, and is exacerbated by the warmth of the noodles themselves. Not for the faint of tolerance.
Sipping the broth does not immediately warrant a cough, and it DOES make me want to go back for a second sip, even a third. It's got a richness to it that might be a meat/bone broth I'm the base that I appreciate, and I would go back to drink it.
While craveable for it's spice and broth, I find myself frustrated with the flakes, who's only purpose seem to be adding something to get dried on in the dishwasher if you aren't careful. I'd even go as far as saying the mushroom tastes actively bad. And I like mushroom!
The sodium level is high, but not as high as the Jongga kimchi. However, the Shin ramen doesn't have the variety of flavor offered by the acidic kimchi, that make the Jongga ramen superior for the sensory variety. Also, I feel decently full after eating these noodles! It's not a particularly large portion, but it wasn't meager either.
I would call the Shin and Jongga ramen equals, with strengths and weaknesses in different areas, placing the Shin ramen at a 7/10. I'm not really eating for cooking time, but its worth knowing that although the Jongga ramen has a deceptive 3 minute wait, one should factor in the time it takes to bring the water to a boil, so both ramens cook at approximately the same speed.
Now for that other people are saying:
We asked expert witness @powerwordcum for his opinion on these noodles. Here's what he had to say
Ive only had the spicy kind, but its p good, a little high on my spice tolerance but still tolerable. Noodles soft but not *crumbly* like maurachen. What I like to do is give it two fried eggs, stir some mayo into the water * PRE POWDER * and put some green onions
We'll follow up on his recipe, the next time we get green onions from the store (they spoil like a bitch, though!)
Amazon reviews show Shin ramen to be a very popular brand. Many recommenders offer only praises, especially highlighting the texture of the ramen. One recommends draining the broth to get a spicier noodle (heresy) and another recommend adding a bone broth to make up for the Gourmet Spicy's lack of flavor in comparison to some of Shin's other flavors, which does make me curious about comparing some of those. (Another uses half the spice packet and half chicken bullion for a less spicy, similar effect)
The abundance of complimentary recipes does give this ramen an advantage, and being able to find an abundance of ways to mix it up is something people on the fence might like to know. However, we don't give Popularity points in my house.
Notable reviews include those titled "might be poisonous"!
While no one seems willing to SELL a child for this ramen, it does seem incredibly popular among spicy tolerant kids and teens. The price fluctuates, though mine were roughly 2 bucks per bowl, which i'd day is reasonable.
Without much new information in the mix, I'd say this one continues to sit at a solid 7/10.
