#i don't have him anymore unfortunately i traded him over to my brother for safekeeping #but he wasn't on any of his carts when i checked them so i guess he's gone 🥲 #and yes i named him after the princess jellyfish character i was very into the anime at the time #xy has a very special place in my heart the plot is a mess and doesn't flesh out or utilize its characters very well #but it's also the first game that i got very attached to my team and made me fall in love w/ the franchise #it's also got the best post-game storyline of the mainline games to me #i'm excited to see kalos again i can't wait to learn more about the game #also if it's set not too long after xy then we better see emma again my girl deserves some focus in the main story #it'd be so fun if we actually get to join the looker bureau and protect the city w/ emma i'd love that!! #mj.txt

I’m in my jellyfish era, but does the weather permit? No.

I saw a post where someone's favourite jellyfish was a box jellyfish so imma just ramble about them while my brother drives me home:

They have the most developed eyes of jellyfish- similar to a cephalopod! Pretty good for something with no brain

Their polyp life tends to be different from scyphozoan jellyfish. While multiple scyphozoan ephyra strobilate from a single polyp, generally only one box jelly will generate from a polyp (some don't even leave leftover polyps behind after they finish developing... Clean little babies). Luckily, polyps clone themselves so we can still have many box jelly friends :)

I know at least the Chironex genus (think: the one the media loves to talk about) will tuck in their tentacles when not hunting. They become the thickness of about a shoelace and spam about... 3 feet I think (it's been a while since I've thought ab it ahha)

The same genus are. POWERFUL swimmers, able to fight the current and swim about 5 knots underwater (about as fast as you can run on land, iirc)

Generally when you see a beached box jelly and they are still alive, their bells will make a loud "shlop" sounds and it's actually kind of unnerving. They are so powerful and no one talks about it :(. I'll send a video when I get home they are legitimately so weird

Scientists generally *hand feed* dangerous, lethal box jelly specimens in studies for reasons I cannot fathom. It's cute but like,, why would you stick your hand in that it's so dangerous hhhgjgng

While nematocyst on bells are quite rare in class scyphozoa, many box jellies have "nematocyst warts" on their bell (I believe this includes Katsuo beloved, who might have nematocysts inside his bell too I can't remember??) . Basically, don't touch them like ever and don't be the guy that cuts them up and eats them straight off the beach

AurAugust Day 10: Date Night

Grand was married, once. It was a beautiful ceremony, and when it was all finished, the reception was a beach party. It was one of the best days of her life, and she still remembers it fondly. But sometime between that happy day and now, her wife, Luna, had vanished into thin air. At first, Grand was willing to scour heaven and earth to get her back - but the longer she was gone, the more she began to realize that... she was never going to find her. 

So she sometimes comes back to Costa Del Sol to make her feel closer to Luna once more. She still has a hard time stepping back into the apartment they shared, but Costa... it was different. All it was was happy memories. It was almost like she was on a date night with her wife once again.
