Goldenheart Week 2024 Prompts

Each day has four prompt options to choose from: a "Goldenheart" prompt, a "Blackloin" prompt, an AU, and a quote from the movie or comic. There are also five alternative prompts if you are not inspired by any of the options for a given day.

All kinds of fanworks are welcome: digital art, traditional art, 100 word drabbles, ficlets, longer fics, poems, embroidery, cosplay, music, gif sets, vids, etc.

Day 1/June 27: Firsts (meeting, kiss, "I love you," etc) | Memory | Commoner Ballister AU (Ballister doesn't become a knight)

Day 2/June 28: Forgiveness | Apologies | Prince Ballister AU (Queen Valerin makes Ballister her heir instead of a knight)

“Ballister, wait — if I don't make it out, I need to tell you—" / "We can't do this now. Just...just promise me you won't get yourself killed."

Day 3/June 29: Pride | Weakness | Magical Creature AU (Mermaids, Vampires, Werewolves, Shapeshifters, etc)

Day 4/June 30: Friends | Jealousy | Gay Dads AU

“She’s not just a creature. She’s my friend. Someone I love is going to try and kill her. And she’s going to kill him."

Day 5/July 1: Disability | Regret | Modern AU

Day 6/July 2: Trust | Scars | Everything is Fine/Science Mom AU

Time to start creating for Nimona Week 2024!

What is this?

Nimona Week is a celebration of our favorite shapeshifting sidekick, in both her movie and comic incarnations. We're hoping to encourage new art and fics (of any length!), but we're also happy to see fic recs and art recs of existing fanworks (just remember to reblog/otherwise properly credit the artist!).

When is it?

Nimona Week will take place from Sunday, March 31 to Saturday, April 6, 2024.

Are there prompts?

Yes! There are three to choose from each day and some alternate prompts as well. This post has the final prompts and explains the tagging system.

What can I make?

You can make or write basically anything: haikus, limericks, 100 word drabbles, ficlets, long fics, traditional art, digital art, gifsets, cosplay, embroidery, etc.

What about Goldenheart/Blackloin?

This event is Nimona-centric, but there will be a Goldenheart-focused event later this year. Fanworks for this event can absolutely include Ballister and Ambrosius (or other characters!) in addition to Nimona, but we want to keep her in the spotlight.

YES! There's a @nimonabigbang. Sign ups for writers are open through March 1st and sign ups for artists are open through April 1st.

If not...

Sunday, March 31, 2024, is Trans Day of Visibility (and Easter) so maybe March 31 - April 6 as a Nimona week focusing mostly on Nimona herself? (As much as I love our boys, I don't want them overshadowing our favorite shark.)

Sunday June 30 - Saturday, July 6, 2024, might be a good option for a Goldenheart/Blackloin week (release date was June 30th and it overlaps both Pride Month and Disability Pride Month).

I'd be happy to help organize and come up with prompts and such, but pretty graphics are not in my current skillset.

Just watched Jaiden Animations' most recent Japan trip video, and with my own Japan trip next month in mind, I'm so glad I'm not into a lot of popular series. I cannot afford to go feral at every Pokemon, One Piece, and Nintendo shop like she did.😅💸💸💸

Honestly, i haven't been regularly watching anime or reading manga in a long time. So i should be safe. .....Then i looked over to my Nyanko Sensei plushie beside me and remembered, I'm into Natsume Yuujinchou. Natsume Yuujinchou is VERY popular in Japan. They have pop up shops all the time. There is new Nyanko Sensei merch EVERYWHERE. (I keep track of new merch announcements thru the mangaka's Twitter.) Am i doomed? Is my wallet doomed?💸💸💸💸💸🤣

Also, I'll want any little Persona 5 gachapon. Any little Joker, Ryuji, or Morgana trinkets. Is Persona 5 still super popular in Japan?

Or any funny little gachapon i see when i have a moment. Earlier this week i found out there's a set of gachapon cats that look like shrimp! And a set of seals! SEALS!

Now that i think about it, I'll want to grab some random Rement miniatures too . Preferably, one of the Kirby tea time sets.

But I'm going on a guided tour, so i probably won't have much time for geeky shopping anyway.

I just want:

DateSana plushies or Sengoku Basara merch from one of the Capcom stores. (But I could take some historical merch with the Date or Sanada mon, as substitutes.)

Nyanko Sensei merch.

maybe that new Rumiko Takahashi artbook "COLORS 1978-2024" that releases at the end of March 2024. But i can always get artbooks at Kinokuniya Los Angeles, so i dont have to get it during my Japan trip.

Some spring/French barrette styled hairclips. Maybe with some pretty kimono fabric decor.

Rement miniatures, Kirby tea time. But again, I could likely get these at LA's Little Tokyo.

Maybe some random cute gachapon

Maybe some Persona 5 Joker, Ryuji, or Morgana merch

Maybe some Kamen Rider merch. Latter Heisei. I haven't been keeping up with a lot of seasons since then, but I love Kamen Rider 01's suit design.

Whatever Good Smile Company figures i run into. Maybe my first Hello Good Smile. Or some Nendoroid Doll parts, to custom some DMCL and Goldenheart Nendoroid Dolls.

Furyu's seated noodle stopper figure of Persona 5's Joker, but i doubt I'll see it. That released back in 2020.😞 I thought i didn't have to preorder it because "I'm going to Anime Expo by the time it releases; I'll just pick it up there"...then the quarantine lock downs happened.😩

Omg i forgot to choose a Nendoroid to bring with me on my trip!

I've been thinking of bringing a Nendoroid Swacchao, since i also have the original Nendoroids of all my current Swacchao. i wont have to worry about losing or breaking a Swacchao that is essentially a duplicate of a character already in my collection, safely at home. So i guess I'm bringing either Hinata Shoyo, Shokudaikiri Mitsutada, or Tsurumaru Kuninaga.

Or do i go rogue, and bring one of my original Nendoroid line characters instead?😈✨️ The thing is that big smiles and bishoujo characters make for better travelling figure photos. Hinata has the big smile, but not the super pretty outfit/character design. My Toudans have the super bishounen character designs, but only very slight smiles (unless i risk bringing one of their original Nendoroids' faceplates.) And i haven't been obsessed with Haikyuu or Touken Ranbu in a long time. I might have a better trip if i bring a character who means more to me right now. I wanna share my trip and have photos of whichever character is my favorite right now. ...But there are no FE3H Claude or Dimitri Nendoroids. No Nimona Goldenheart Nendoroids either. 😥

What is this?

Goldenheart Week is a celebration of our favorite gay knights, in both their movie and comic incarnations. We're hoping to encourage new fanworks of all kinds!

When is it?/Why those dates?

We will be reblogging tagged posts from June 27 - July 3, 2024. June is Pride Month, June 30th was the Netflix release date for Nimona (and is the midpoint of Goldenheart Week), and July is Disability Pride Month.

Are there prompts?

Yes! Here they are along with the tagging system. Credit to @candyskiez and everyone who filled out our survey for some good suggestions, and thanks to everyone who voted in our survey to finalize the list.

What can I make?

You can make or write basically anything: haikus, limericks, 100 word drabbles, ficlets, long fics, traditional art, digital art, gifsets, cosplay, embroidery, etc.

Is there an AO3 Collection?

Yes! It will open just before the start of Goldenheart Week and will stay open indefinitely.

How can I help?

@zyrafowe-sny would love graphic design support and someone else with blog access to reblog tagged posts during Goldenheart Week. Signal boosts are also always appreciated.

Are there any other Nimona fandom events?

Yes! Beta reader sign ups for the @nimonabigbang are open through July 28th, and final fics and fanart will be revealed in September. Reach out if you have other event ideas/plans — we're always happy to signal boost! @zyrafowe-sny could probably be talked into helping run another theme day/week, bingo, AO3 prompt fill, AO3 fic exchange, or something else after the Big Bang is over.

Yes, I was absolutely sold on movie!Goldenheart when Bal just sort of melted against Ambrosius' shoulder before the knighting ceremony. Comic!Goldenheart also has a great dynamic, and hopefully each day during Goldenheart Week will have prompts that speak to both movie and comic enjoyers.

We hope so too, anonymous respondent to the Goldenheart Week Prompt Voting poll! We plan to have the final prompt list up sometime this weekend so that people can start creating early if they feel like it. It's also never too late to create and be inspired by prompts, even if it's after the event technically ends. We don't have any minimum amount of time/effort either — feel free to share that quick drabble or doodle! Just have fun interpreting the prompts on your schedule!

I think fandom events like theme weeks are a fun way to feel like part of a community and keep the fandom going. As much as I enjoy Big Bangs and fic exchanges, theme weeks are little less pressure. You can stumble across a prompt the day-of and make a quick doodle or write a 100 word drabble. There's also no reason you can't create new fanwork based on prompts even after the event technically ends.

I personally enjoy making surveys and coming up with/organizing prompts, so it's really my pleasure! I hope people are having fun voting and will feel inspired by the final list!
