Pregnancy was not something Eddie Munson believed he would ever understand. Wasn’t something he thought he’d have to do.
Until—at the very responsible age of twenty─he took to finishing inside of you and one of his swimmers took. Played hide-and-seek for a good five months before either of you knew she was there.
You hadn’t started showing until about two or three weeks after finding out, and now at almost seven months, you had the cutest baby bump Eddie couldn’t keep his hands off, a ravenous hunger for the most peculiar things and absolutely no tolerance for the weirdest fucking things; the sound of kernels popping made you want to throw up, and so did the scent of baked goods and the ‘air on Tuesdays’ (Eddie was still trying to work that one out).
Whatever you wanted, Eddie got you. Albeit, with tons of questions asked. Like, right now.
It was late in the evening, chilly throughout the trailer but warm in the room thanks to the trusty space heater Eddie had had for years. The both of you had traded your day clothes for pajamas, so you were in one of his t-shirts and nothing else while he was only clad in a pair of sweats because his body temperature always ran a little on the hot side, and you were curled right up to him. Your head had been previously nuzzling into the crook of his neck, placing kisses over the tendons there and nosing along his jaw but now it was craned back, batting those pretty eyelashes up at him with pleading eyes and a pout.
  “Pleeeaaaaase, Eddie?”
“Branzino.” Eddie repeated your request with amused disbelief.
“It’s low in mercury, so I can eat it.”
  “Branzino.”
“It’s what she wants!” You chirped, moving a hand to rest over your growing bump. Baby Munson, your little Penny, had recently learned she had legs and could stretch them out in there. Despite the two of you settling down, she seemed to be filled with energy; you could feel her moving around, targeting certain areas with her kicks. She’d been pretty still for a good hour or two so you thought she might have woken up from a nap.
“Yeah?” Eddie asked, quirking his brows with lidded eyes, so engrossed with how caring you were for his baby already.
Witnessing you go from awkwardly acknowledging her existence with a pat or uncertain conversation to almost always having a hand over your bump, as if to protect her from a threat while talking to her as though she was already cradled in your arms, had Eddie always so tender with emotion.
He was so proud and in love.
You hummed in confirmation and when Eddie’s hand moved your (his) shirt up, you immediately grasped his wrist to place his palm over the area your baby’s foot was currently pressing up against. Eddie grinned as he felt the movement just under the warmth of your skin, firm and held surprisingly long before it retreated and he rubbed over the area as you relaxed further into him.
“She was stretching.” He correctly deduced.
“Mhm, she’s been kicking the heck out of my ribcage, so I think her head is right here.” You placed your free hand over your bump, just under your left breast, “She only got active after we showered, so she just woke up.”
Eddie felt a little guilty about that, it had probably been him railing you against the shower wall that stirred her from her slumber.
“Sorry, sweet pea.” He mumbled, continuing to rub your belly if not somewhat more apologetic, “I’m just so excited that I can’t get your mom pregnant right now, ‘cause we already have you, and she’s just so horn—“
Eddie laughed as you delivered a swift whack to his chest with the back of your hand, fighting a smile as he teased you through an attempt to talk to your baby.
“Excuse me, you were the one trying to feel me up on the couch!”
“No, I did feel you up. And if I recall correctly, which I do, it was my fingers you were cum—“
“Distracting!” You pointed an accusatory finger in his face, booping the tip of his nose with it, “You’re trying to distract me. Branzino.”
“Ugh,” Eddie sagged into the pillows, but the smirk on his face told you you’d be getting exactly what you wanted, like always. He just liked to give you a hard time. Banter with you was like foreplay to him. “Alright, alright. Since you must have your fish dish─”
“I must,” You placed the back of your hand against your forehead as you fell dramatically back into the pillows.
  “And since she’s craving it─”
“She wants branzino so badly and I’d get it for her myself but I’m utterly exhausted─no, not because we had sex,” You had immediately clocked the grinch like twist in his smirk at your mentioning of exhaustion, “I’ll have you know I probably made a good chunk of her brain today. That takes energy. Dedication. And she probably sucked the bone marrow out of me to do it, or something.”
Eddie threw his head back and howled with laughter. You giggled along with him but tried to reason, “Okay, I’m not being completely dramatic, though! She really does steal some of my own body to make hers! I could lose my teeth, Eddie. I read it in a book.”
The bed shook with how hard Eddie was laughing and you delighted in being the reason behind it. Once he calmed down, his head lulled to the side, cheeks red from all that amusement and warm brown hues focused on you.
“You read it in a book, huh?”
  “Yup.”
  “Ask your doctor about it?”
  “Nope.”
  “Why not?”
  “…’Cause I’m scared she’ll say it’s true.”
You sent Eddie into another laughing fit. When he was done with that one, he launched himself out of bed and you snuggled into the spot he’d occupied—so warm and cozy—to watch him grab a shirt and hoodie from the closet, and his jacket from where he’d thrown it on the dresser. A beanie was shoved on his head and as he wrapped the scarf you’d gotten him around his neck, he eyed you with mirth twinkling in his pretty eyes.
“Branzino in the middle of winter.”
  “It’s what she wants!”
“It’s what she wants.” He conceded with a fond smile, “I’ll be back after like an hour and a half of driving around to find a Greek place open so you can replenish your bone marrow with it somehow and grow the rest of her brain.”
You hummed in appreciation, beaming at him as he neared you to lean over and get a thorough kiss goodbye.
“Thank you,” You mumbled shyly against his mouth.
“You don’t have to thank me . . . but you’re welcome.” He teased.
Driving around in the cold didn't seem all that terrible with you blowing him kisses from the bed, and his baby growing inside you.
That damn fish was so worth it.

"daddy, sit still, you gonna ruin it!" the frustrated little huffs from your three year old echo down the hall as you step foot into the apartment, toeing off your shoes next to the door after a long day.
"i'm trying, baby girl, it's tickly," eddie's soft dad voice makes your heart melt, the tender way he coos to her like she hung the moon and the stars.
you walk in through the door to see one of your old eyeshadow pallets balanced haphazardly on the edge of the sofa, your baby girl in her fuzzy pyjamas sat atop eddie's stomach as she runs an old fluffy brush over his eyelids.
"baby love, what're you doing to daddy?" you laugh, sneaking up behind her to check out her handywork. when she notices your presence the widest smile appears, little dimples poking in as her face scrunches up.
"pupple!" she grins, little curly pigtails swaying as she turns around to look at you with her big brown eyes, full of mischief and pride as she shows off the masterpiece.
eddie looks like he's been punched six ways from sunday, dark mauve and vibrant lilacs dusted along his eyelids, right up to his eyebrows. fanning out over his temples, down his lower lash line and onto his cheeks.
"sure is purple, baby," you smile back, sticking two thumbs up in her direction, which she copies with enthusiasm, "you look so pretty, daddy!"
eddie peels one eye open, wild curls fanned out over the sofa pillow from where he's slumped, hands on your daughters back to keep her upright, "pretty enough to take on a date?"
"absolutely," you beam, leaning over to give him a small kiss, grinning against his lips, "maybe to the movie theatre... or on a late night stroll... or anywhere dark."
"ha ha," eddie responds dryly, rolls his eyes, before putting his attention back on your little one, "and what do you think, princess? where should we go to show off your gorgeous artwork?"
her little chubby finger points towards the door, "park!" she giggles, high pitched and screechy, as she clambers off of eddie with great enthusiasm.
you end up in the park, in broad daylight, amongst giggling mothers and other small children who look mixtures of mortified and awe struck.

Steve’s Ex
Pairing: Eddie Munson x Reader
Summary: Steve’s ex is back in town and shows up at Family Video with a ring on her finger and a kid on her hip.
Word Count: 2412
Eddie Masterlist
Tumblr media
“Steve! Steve!” Robin runs into Family Video late for her shift yelling for her best friend.
“Whatever you’re about to say Buckley better have to deal with why I’ve had to cover for you for the past twenty minutes.”
“I bumped into Dustin on my way here and he said your ex is back in town.” She moves behind the counter glancing at Steve out of the corner of her eye waiting for his reaction.
“Which ex?” Robin spins around at his nonchalance, shocked he’s not freaking out yet.
“Which ex?! Steve, the ex, the one you’ve been hung up about since before Nancy! Honestly, why would we warn you about any other ex?” She gets to watch her words dawn on him in real time. Steve’s eyes go wide, his lips part and he fumbles and drops the VHS in his hands before turning to face Robin.
“Y/n’s back in town?” He hasn’t seen you in years, not since you moved away after his freshman year and your sophomore year. And not since you broke his heart by dumping him. He says he’s over you but he and everyone he’s talked to about you know that he’s not really. “When did she come back? Where is she staying? Where did Dustin see her?”
“Woah slow down Romeo. I don’t know the answer to any of those questions.” Robin holds up her hands in defense before Steve can start shaking her for information. “You really haven’t had any sort of communication with her?”
“Not really, I saw her once or twice when she was in town for holidays over the years but it was always in passing and she had a boyfriend each time.”
“Well maybe this time she won’t have one.” Robin offered up with a shrug before grabbing some tapes to restock shelves.
“You ready to go pick a movie for tonight baby?” You speak to your little girl smiling down at her as you unclasp her from her carseat. She beams up at you and nods her brown hair moving around with her head. Every time she beams up at you makes you feel like you’re falling in love with her all over again. “I was thinking of getting Muppets Take Manhattan, you wanna watch The Muppets?”
“Yeah!” You smile and bring her into your arms, shutting the car door and looking over at the Family Video in front of you.
“And you know what? You were so good today that you get to pick a movie on top of my pick.”
“Really?” You smile softly at how it actually comes out as ‘weally’. Arwen had issues pronouncing her r’s still which isn’t unusual for children her age and as adorable as it is you’re nervous that maybe she got your speech impediment that you had to work on all throughout elementary school.
“Really.” You nod, poking her stomach and letting her hold onto your finger when she grabs for it. The bell above you rings as you walk into the store and you head straight to where you know you’ll find your movie. Arwen begins to wiggle on your hip after you grab it and you place her down holding your hand out for her to take so she doesn’t wander away. She starts tugging you away and you let her knowing she’s on her way to the children's section.
Steve froze in his spot when he saw the little girl pulling you across the store. He hadn’t seen you come in and if Robin knew this was going to be his reaction she would’ve told him that you had just walked in. She can’t help but laugh at his expression but still pinches him when she notices you walking towards the counter. The kid is babbling on about something and you continue looking down at her nodding along and chiming in here and there. Steve takes your distraction with the kid to get himself under control.
“Did you find everything alright?” At the sound of his voice your attention goes from your kid to the man you definitely recognized behind the counter.
“Steve? How are you?” You place the two movies on the counter both Muppets and Rainbow Bright and the Star Stealer, Arwen's pick for the night.
“Good, good. What are you doing here?”
“Getting movies for movie night.” You pick up your daughter then and Steve’s attention goes to her.
“Whose this?” He leans on the counter smiling at her.
“This is my daughter Arwen.” Steve chokes on air, he was expecting you to say it was your cousin or something, not your daughter. She looks like she’s around like four and his heart drops to his stomach at that realization.
“Is she, is she mine?” You laugh at him causing Arwen to let out little giggles too. She may not have known what you were laughing about but hearing you laugh normally caused her to. It was one of your favorite sounds in the whole world.
“God no. She’s only three Steve, we broke up, what five years ago?”
“Four years ago.” He tries not to sound dejected at you both laughing at him and not remembering when you broke up. “Is uh, is her dad still around then?” He knew how normal it was for teen dads to just sorta not want anything to do with the kid.
“Oh yeah. He absolutely adores her. Arwen, this is my friend Steve.”
“Hi, I’m Awwen.” Steve smiles at her as she waves at him.
“It’s nice to meet you. A pretty name for a pretty girl.” She giggles at the compliment hiding her face in your shoulder. “How’d you come up with Arwen?”
“Her dad named her, she’s named after a character from Lord of The Rings. Can I rent the movies?”
“Oh, yeah, yeah of course.” Steve gets busy logging the movies out. “So how long are you back for?”
“Hopefully for good. I figured it was time to finally move in with my husband instead of constantly worrying about him from my parents house after the scare he gave us earlier this year.” You put Arwen down again so you can get your wallet out to pay.
“Husband?” Steve’s throat goes tight as he wonders who the lucky bastard who got to marry you is. The bell rings again then and Steve watches over your shoulder as Eddie walks in, his eyes lighting up as he sees the two girls at the counter.
“Daddy!” Arwen rushes away from you and into Eddie’s arms as he crouches down to catch her. Your attention immediately goes to the man picking up your little girl behind you.
“Hey Princess, you miss me?” Eddie kisses the side of her head as she buries her head in his shoulder and wraps her legs around his waist the best she can. Robin immediately understands what’s going on and she wants to laugh at the confusion written across Steve’s face. “Hey baby.” Eddie stops next to you and plants a kiss on your lips causing Steve’s mouth to drop.
“You married Munson?!”
“Do you two know each other?”
“Do we know each other? Like you don’t know we dated for a year.” Steve scoffs out and rolls his eyes while crossing his arms. He can’t believe Eddie never told him he was with you, he didn’t even know the man was married.
“You dated Harrington?”
“Oh, yeah.” You shrug because it’s not a big deal. “We broke up like a month, maybe, before we started dating.”
“Woah, woah, woah wait. You waited a month before dating someone who lives in the same town as me when you dumped me because and I quote ‘long distance is for chumps’?”
“Eddie was very convincing with his argument for me trying it with him. If you had tried to convince me otherwise then maybe we would’ve stayed together.”
“How did the two of you meet?” Robin chimes in as Steve starts to get into his head and before he can say anything stupid. “Hi, I’m Robin.” She holds out her hand for you to shake.
“Hi! Eddie’s told me a lot about you!” He really has, he absolutely adores Robin to death and he’s told you all about how his friendship with her has grown.
“Corroded Coffin had a show in her town, something Gareth's cousin set up for us, and she was one of the only people there enjoying the music. I caught her after the show and we went to get dinner at the diner down the street.” Eddie answers her other question before you can spill about how much he gushes about his cool new friend.
“And after that he basically begged me to try the long distance thing and it ended up working. He’d come visit me a lot and he was constantly sending me love letters in the mail. Four months later I got pregnant with my little angel here, freaked out a lot and spent almost all of junior year pregnant. Even though we didn’t mean for it to happen we both fell in love with her after the first ultrasound picture.” You reach over to brush hair away from her face and boop her nose. “Eddie proposed after I graduated and we got married a month after she turned two.”
“Why haven’t you been living here then with Eddie?” Steve’s still being uncharacteristically quiet as Robin continues to ask questions.
“He insisted it was better for Arwen if I stayed with my parents for a while since he was still in school and didn’t trust that the trailer was safe enough for her. But after what happened in March I told him there wasn’t a choice anymore and we were moving home.”
“And since it looks like we’re going to win this defamation case, I’m gonna get us our own place with the money we get.” Wayne was quick to find a lawyer and file a defamation case after it was proved Eddie was innocent. He wasn’t happy at all with the town still painting him out to be a devil worshipping murderer and trying to ruin Eddie’s chances at living a normal life. If it wasn’t for Wayne knowing the owner Eddie wouldn’t even have his job at the auto shop in town.
“Wait what are you doing here Eddie? Thought you’d beat me home today.”
“Was on my way home when I saw your car in the parking lot. Had to make sure you weren’t getting one of the Muppet movies again.” He bumps your shoulder with his own teasing. Really he was just super excited to see you and couldn’t wait till you got home. You look away from him then and towards the tapes still on the counter. Arwen begins to giggle and you already know she’s going to rat you out.
“Mama got Muppets.”
“Before you even say anything Eds, it isn't The Muppet Movie again, I’m switching it up. You wanna tell dad what you picked out Winnie?”
“Rainbow Bright!” She throws her hands up and you and Eddie gape at her before looking at each other smiling.
“Did she just?”
“I’m pretty sure she did.”
“Did you two hear that?” Robin and Steve share a look of confusion at your excited voices while you don’t wait for their answer and grab Arwen's hands stepping closer to her. “Say it again baby.”
“Rainbow Bright.” She’s still smiling at all the excitement she’s getting from her parents even if she doesn’t understand exactly why. Yours and Eddie’s smiles reach your eyes as she pronounces both r’s right for a second time.
“That’s right baby! Rainbow Bright.” You take her from Eddie’s arms and spin her around causing her to laugh.
“Look at you Princess, getting your r’s right! You keep this up and I’m gonna have to start calling you Pirate.” Eddie’s hand rests on her head after he places a kiss there pulling away beaming at her. “I think this calls for ice cream, what do you think Sweetheart?”
“This definitely calls for ice cream. What do you think honey? You want some chocolate ice cream?”
“Yeah!” She claps and you hike her further up your body before turning your head towards Steve and Robin.
“It was nice seeing you again Steve and it was wonderful to meet you Robin. I guess I’ll see you around.” You wave bye to them and Arwen waves over your shoulder as you walk away. “Do you want to go home first and then we can all go together?”
“Yeah that sounds good.” Eddie stays close to you as you both walk towards the door.
“Oh! We should see if Dustin wants to join us.”
“Hey guys! You forgot to grab the movies.” The two of your attentions go to Robin and Eddie stops you from taking a step in her direction.
“I’ll grab them Sweetheart, you go get Arwen all snug in her carseat.” You nod at him before exiting through the door he holds open for you. “Thanks Robin, we got a little distracted there.”
“Don’t worry about it.” She shrugs before smiling wide at her newest friend. “I can’t believe you never told us you were married or had a kid. She’s so fucking cute!”
“Isn’t she? And it’s not like I kept it a secret, Dustin, Mike, and Lucas even met them both in the beginning of last school year. Honestly if it weren’t for my girls I probably wouldn’t have let Dustin drag my ass out of the upside down.” Eddie watches you through the doors as you coo to your daughter with a love drunk smile. “Alright I gotta go, got two pretty ladies waiting for me to get ice cream. See you Robin, Harrington this was weird don’t try to hit on my wife again. Bye!” Steve gets flustered only proving Eddie right. He hadn’t even heard what you and Steve had been talking about before he showed up but he could tell that Steve was into you with just one look at his face. And Eddie is still blissfully unaware that you’re the ex Steve talks about sometimes.
“Steve your ex is a total fucking milf now!” Robin exclaims once Eddie is out of the door and pulling you into a kiss.
“Shut it Robs. I can’t believe she ended up with Eddie.” He groans out, dropping his head into his arms while Robin laughs.

Eddie and Y/n have been together for 6 months now, about the time Eddie’s relationships would end, without the women ever meeting his kids and never any ‘I love you’s. But everything was going well, and though Y/n had met Isla when she met Eddie they had gotten really close, and she had now met Leo and despite all expectations that went well. Y/n and Leo had become friends of sorts. But no matter how happy he was, how happy she made him, Eddie started pulling away. He couldn’t help it. He loved her, yes. Not that he’d told her yet. He loved his kids first, and he has to put them first, always will.
Y/n was now on the international leg of her tour, and they haven’t talked in a while, always seeming to miss each other. This was giving Eddie the space he needs to think about their relationship. Not without zero help from his kids.
“Is Y/n going to come here after her shows in Europe are over?” Isla asked, pushing her vegetables across her plate with her fork, then picking up her knife to saw the broccoli in two.
“Um- I’m not sure, kid.” The man mumbles, hoping Isla will move on after not getting an answer.
“Why not?”
“Isla-”
“Can you ask-”
“Isla! Finish your dinner, or if you're done take your plate to the kitchen.” Sighing, Isla got up grabbing her plate to the kitchen and stomping upstairs to her room. After hearing the slamming the teens door, Eddie gets up to start loading the dishwasher. Leo, who was over for dinner, like he often did, walked over to his dad, placing his plate next to the sink. Then rounding the island, to sit at a bar stool.
“So.. What’s with your attitude?” This causes Eddie to look up from his task, giving his son a look that could kill.
“Leo, we're not talking about this.”
“No. We have to. I don’t know what’s wrong with you. You get so sensitive everytime we mention Y/n lately. Are you not talking? Please don’t break up with this one, I actually like her.”
“Leo. I ca-”
“No. You love her! And I guess that scares you, because every relationship you’ve had since mom has had this 6 month timer and that timer has gone off, and you're not ready. Or it scares you that she’s so close to us. And that if you ever break up Isla would be heartbroken.”
Eddie takes a moment, thinking over what Leo has said, and scarily accurate it is, and since when was Leo that smart?
“Leo?... Could you stay here with Isla for a few days?”
“Yeah.” Leo says, a wide grin spreading across his face.
-
Here Y/n was sitting in her hotel in Paris, staring at her phone, looking at a voicemail Eddie had left. It’s time. He’s going to break up with her; she just knows it. Her and Leo went out a couple weeks ago and he had let slip of Eddie’s 6 month timer on relationships, of course that was followed with Leo’s reassurance that he could feel she was different. But that didn’t cure her anxiety.
Because since she left for tour, they haven’t talked, like Eddie has been avoiding her. She had written a break-up song about him for fucks sake, they’re not even broken up yet. But now he was going to break up with her, over a voicemail at that.
Ripping the band-aid off, Y/n finally presses play on the voicemail.
“Hey, Y/n-” God her first name, it’s really happening “-um, I have a lot of this to say, but I can’t say it over the phone. So I’ll talk to you later. I care about you. I know it hasn’t felt like it, and that’s part of what I need to talk about. I just need you to remember that. I care about you. Okay. Bye.”
At least he was planning on letting her down easy. Guess that’s a plus. Pouring herself a glass of wine from the overpriced display hotels have, Y/n sits down at the dining table, staring at the abstract painting across from her. After what felt like an hour of staring, which in actuality it was 10 minutes, the young woman hears the click of the hotel door. It startles her back into a conscious state, wondering why her assistant Andrea, the only other person with a key card, was entering her room at this hour.
“Andrea?” Turning the corner, Y/n comes face to face with the older, taller man. “Eds… Wha- what are you doing here?”
“Did you not get my voicemail?” He asks, as if that voicemail held any answers.
“Yeah, but.. It was pretty vague.” Her reply caused Eddie to smile.
“Yeah, sorry about that, I was in a rush. Packing, getting the jet ready.” Silence came over the two. Awkward silence. The couple had never been in awkward silence for the entirety of their relationship, always talking, never a pause in their banter. They had comfortable silence at night, staring into each other's eyes. But never was it awkward between them.
“You’ve been avoiding my calls.”
“I’ve been avoiding your calls.” The two spoke at the same time, before Eddie continues, “I’m sorry. It’s just- Ever since my relationship with my ex-wife, my relationships have had this 6 month lifespan. And when they get close to 6 months I get ready to end things.” Here it comes the ‘it’s not you, it’s me and my commitment issues’ “But that didn’t happen with you.” Oh. “With you, you met Isla and Leo no woman I’ve been with has gotten there, and they like you! And that’s fucking scarry. So the thought of us ever breaking up and what that would do to Isla.. It killed me, so I wanted to get ahead of it, y’know break up with you before she got even more attached, but I couldn’t so I just avoided you. Which was the wrong choice because that just caused you and me more pain. So.. I came here to tell you that.. I love you. And you don’t have to say it back, but I need you to know that I’m in, and this relationship it’s not just you and me anymore, my kids are in this. And I have to think about them and I need to know that you will also think about them.”
Throughout that long winded explanation, all Y/n could think about is that Eddie is not breaking up with her, and that he loves her. He, Eddie Munson, playboy, rock legend loved her.
“Eds, I love you too.” After she said the three little magic words, Eddie leaps towards her, his lips smashing against hers. Their lips moving in sync, Eddie’s tongue tempting her lips to widen, to allow his tongue and hers to fight for dominance. Y/n’s lips grant Eddie’s tongue entrance while Eddie has her distracted by his tongue, his hands slip downwards to her thighs gripping them for support to lift the woman onto the dining table, leaning her back and lifting his lips from hers to be able to talk once again. The disconnection of their lips leave the couple breathless, panting, and staring into eachothers eyes.
“I love you.”
“I love you too.”
-
The couple wake up the next morning, sunlight seeping through the sheer curtains, legs tangled together, Y/n moving to put her cold feet on Eddie’s legs to warm them.
“Ah! Get your feet off me. They’re cold.” Eddie mumbles into his hair, before turning his body to face Y/n, he was the little spoon last night.
“I know! That’s why I want you to warm them.” The short woman says in a ‘duh’ tone. Wiggling her feet between his calves, Eddie grabs her ankles, moving onto his back and pulling her to straddle him. Her bare core, resting on his v-line, as the two were still naked from last night's activities.
“Hi.”
“Hi, darling.”
“Good morning.”
“Good morning.” The older man brings his hand to his girl's jaw, his thumb rubbing back and forth on her cheek.
“I love you.” This causes Eddie to let out a deep chuckle, as the two have said this about 30 times since he first did last night.
“I love you too.”
“So.. Now that we’re in love or whatever.” “‘Whatever’” “I want you to meet my parents… In a couple months when I get a break from tour. What do you think about that?” Y/n was worried about asking Eddie this, it felt so juvenile, but Eddie has never once made her feel bad about their age gap, one of the many things she loved about him.
“I would love to. And in the summer, I would really love you coming with me and the kids to Hawkins, meet my uncle and my hometown friends?”
“I would love to meet the man that raised my amazing man. I’ll have to thank him y’know. A lot.”
“Of course, he did a great job.”
“Oh shut up. I also really want to meet your friends. What are they like?”
“Well theirs the Hellfire boys, Dustin, Lucas, Mike and Will. They’re a couple years younger than me, all married, all have kids. Mike and Will are married, they adopted a few. Then there’s Steve. He has a kid Leo’s age.. Then Robin, she got married to this girl from high school, Vicky, me and Steve totally got them together but she won’t admit it. They’re all great, and I can’t wait for you to meet them.”
-
“I want to go to.. Italy. Have you been?”
“Yeah, it’s beautiful.”
“I’ve always wanted to go.”
“I’ll take you.”
The two have been laying on their backs staring at the ceiling, talking all about the places they’ve been and want to go. The couple haven't left the bed all day, just to go to the bathroom, and Eddie once to grab them food, all while still naked, just how they liked it.
“I wrote a breakup song about you.. Before everything, when I thought we were going to break up.” She added the last part quickly after her pause.
“Anything bad about me?” Eddie asks, clearly making a joke out of it, something Y/n was thankful for, he could always tell when she needed him to be serious and when she needed him to be jokey, another thing she loved about him.
“No, of course not. Just about how it would be super hard for me if we did break up.”
“Then good thing we didn’t.” He says, pressing his lips gently against hers.

“Steve?” Y/n asked, tears in her eyes as she called the phone at Family Video.
“Y/n,” Steve sounded panicked. “What’s wrong?”
“No one is answering their phones.” Y/n breathed heavily, hand on the wall to try and keep herself upright. “I-I think I’m having the baby.”
“What?” Steve shouted, making a few angry mothers glare his way as they looked at the movies on the shelves. He lowered his voice. “What do you mean?”
“I’ve been hurting for a few days.” Y/n cried. “I tried to stop it, Steve, but it just hurts so bad. I can’t take it.”
“Is your mom home?” Steve asked. “Or Eddie?”
“Would I be calling you if they were?” Y/n shouted.
“Right.” Steve sighed, shaking his head. “I’m on my way, Y/n. Keep trying to call Eddie.”
“Okay.” Tears were streaming down her face. She put the phone back on the receiver and sobbed. Picking the phone back up, she re-dialed Eddie’s number.
Eddie hasn’t spoken to Y/n since he fell out with Dustin. Y/n knew he needed some space, but she didn’t think that he’d ignore her. It has been two days since she last saw Eddie and two days since the cramping started to get really bad. She didn’t tell anyone in fear that she would instantly be put into the hospital. However, she was really regretting not telling anyone how bad they actually were. Because now she was home alone. Dustin was with his friends, her mother was at work, and Eddie was M.I.A.
“Hello?” Y/n sighed in relief upon hearing the voice of Uncle Wayne.
“Uncle Wayne,” Y/n said. “Is Eddie there?”
“Y/n,” Wayne began. “Is everything okay?”
“Is Eddie there, Wayne?” Y/n is becoming impatient.
“He just went out to the store.” Wayne said. “He should be back soon. Why?”
“I’m about to go to the hospital.” Y/n explained. “The baby’s coming.”
“Right now?” Wayne shouted into the phone. “O-okay. Okay, okay, I’ll go find Eddie. We’ll meet you there!”
“Thank you, Wayne.” Y/n said, putting the phone back onto the receiver. She hobbled over to the dining table and sat down in the closest seat. Her hands were cradling her belly as she groaned in pain.
“Y/n!” Steve pounded on the front door of her house after speeding into her driveway. He’s surprised that a cop didn’t pull him over, he felt like he was driving like Max. “Y/n!” He knocked again. He peeked through the windows and saw Y/n sitting at the table, eyes scrunched up in pain. He quickly realized that she wouldn't be able to stand to open the door, so he began to look for the spare key. Upon finding the key, which was hidden in a potted plant, he ran to Y/n’s side.
“Steve,” Y/n gasped, reaching out for him. “You gotta get me to a hospital, now!”
“Okay,” He nodded, placing his hands on her waist to help her stand. “But we have to walk to the car first, okay?”
“Okay.” Y/n nodded, wiping away the tears on her cheeks. Her legs were shaking, as was the rest of her. She was nervous, very nervous. She had expected this to go smoothly. She had expected Eddie to be the one to drive her to the hospital. Everything was going wrong, all wrong.
“Wait, Steve,” Y/n grabbed onto his upper arm after she was sat in the passenger seat. “Go grab my bag. It’s in my closet.”
“Okay.” He nodded, quickly running back inside through the front door, which Steve forgot to close, to grab the bag. Y/n cried and leaned her head against the headrest.
“Oh god, oh god,” She cried. “This can’t be happening right now.”
“Eddie!” Wayne called out, running up to Eddie, who was standing in front of the chips at the gas station.
“Wayne,” Eddie’s eyes widened. “What’s going on?”
“Y/n’s in labor.” He said, grabbing onto Eddie’s elbow and pulling him towards the front of the store.
“What?” Eddie’s heart dropped into his stomach. “What do you mean?”
“She called the house and said she’s having the baby.” Wayne explained as they both walked to the car. Eddie got into the passenger seat and ran his hands over his face.
“W-where, where is she?” He asked Wayne as he drove down the road. “Did I miss it? Did she already have the baby?”
“I don’t know.” Wayne shrugged. “But she called about twenty minutes ago asking for you. We’re meeting her at the hospital.”
“Oh my god.” Eddie leaned forward, resting his head on his knees. He sat up and leaned his head back, taking deep breaths. “I’m about to be a father.”
“Get ready, boy.” Wayne smiled slightly, hitting him on the arm. “Your life’s about to change.”
“Was she mad?” Eddie asked, worried. “I-I haven’t talked to her in a couple days.”
“I know that, you idiot.” Wayne grunted. “But she seemed more worried than anything.”
“Worried?” Eddie frantically asked. “Worried why?”
“Eddie, she’s having a baby.” Wayne scoffed. “Wouldn’t you be worried too?”
“I am worried.”
“Well, there you have it.”
Steve kept throwing worried glances towards Y/n, who was focused on her breathing and trying not to have the baby in Steve’s car. Although Steve isn’t the father, he felt like he was going to vomit. He didn’t know how babies worked, he didn’t know how labor worked, he didn’t know how any of this stuff worked. At one point, Y/n had yelled at him because he kept swerving the car to avoid all of the potholes, which just pissed her off.
“Are we almost there, Steve?” Y/n whimpered. “I don’t think I can take much more.”
“Yeah,” He nodded. “We’re about five minutes away. Just hold on, Y/n.”
“I’m sorry for this, Steve.” She sniffled. “I didn’t know who else to call.”
“Don’t be sorry, Y/n.” He shook his head. “You’re one of my best friends, I’d do anything for you.”
“You mean it?” She asked, bottom lip quivering.
“Of course.” He answered genuinely.
“Well,” She reached over to grab his free hand. “If Eddie doesn’t make it in time, can you hold my hand?”
“Yeah,” He instantly said. “You can hold my hand if you want to.”
“Thank you, Steve.”
Eddie didn’t wait for Wayne to put the car in park once in the hospital’s parking lot. He ran into the hospital and frantically searched for someone he could talk to. His eyes locked onto the reception desk and he ran over, nearly knocking over a few nurses, who glared after him.
“My girlfriend, she’s having a baby.” Eddie told the receptionist, who just blinked at him.
“Congratulations.” She said, sarcastically.
“Where is she?” He asked. The woman sighed and grabbed the patient information book.
“What’s her name?” She asked, flipping the book open.
“Y/n L/n.” Eddie said. Wayne soon joined his side and waited for the lady to tell them the information. The receptionist lady shook her head.
“We don’t have anyone here by that name.” Her voice was monotone. “Sorry.”
“What do you mean?” Wayne asked. “She came here.”
“Eddie?” A voice called out, making Eddie and Wayne turn around to see Y/n being supported by Steve.
“Y/n!” Eddie ran towards her and pulled her into a hug. “Oh my god, I was so worried.”
“Eddie, you beat me here?” She asked in surprise as she pulled away from the hug.
“Wayne drives like a psycho.” He laughed, making her smile slightly. The happy moment was soon over as Y/n hunched over in pain again.
“Hey!” Eddie shouted. “My girl’s having a baby. Someone help.” It was as if those were the magic words, as a ton of nurses flocked towards Y/n. They got her in a wheelchair and pushed her towards the maternity ward, Eddie, Wayne, and Steve following her. Just as she was through the double doors, one of the nurses stopped the three men.
“Family only.” The nurse said.
“He’s the father.” Steve said, shoving Eddie forward.
“Y-yeah,” Eddie nodded. “That’s my wife in there.”
“Okay,” The nurse nodded. “Follow me.” Eddie glanced back at his uncle and Steve as the doors closed. Wayne gave Eddie thumbs up as Steve waved through the window on the door.
“Hey, sweetheart.” Eddie smiled the second he laid his eyes on Y/n, who lay in the hospital bed, numerous wires and tubes attached to her body. Eddie was told to wait outside of the room for a few moments whilst the nurses helped Y/n prepare for birth. The same nurse, who had let Eddie go with Y/n, was the one that told Eddie he can finally go into the room.
“Hi.” She smiled weakly. “I don’t hurt anymore, Eds.”
“No?” He pulled a chair to the side of the bed and grabbed her hand. “How come?”
“They gave me a shot in my back.” She explained. “It makes the pain go away.”
“It’s called Epidural.” A nurse explained as she wrote down Y/n’s vitals.
“E-epidural?” Eddie asked, looking at the nurse. “Is that going to hurt her? Or the baby?”
“Not one bit.” The nurse flashed a comforting smile. “It actually makes both mom and baby very comfortable.”
“Really?” He sighed in relief. “Thank god.” Both the nurse and Y/n laughed.
“You two are going to be amazing parents.” The nurse complimented.
“Thank you.” Eddie and Y/n said at the same time, making them look at each other and giggle. The nurse gave the pair one last smile before exiting the room.
“Are you scared?” Y/n asked, playing with a strand of Eddie’s hair.
“Terrified.” He breathed out. “What if the baby like… rejects me or some shit?”
“It’s not going to reject you, Eddie.” Y/n rolled her eyes. “You’re their daddy.”
“Thought I was your daddy.” Eddie smirked. Y/n tisked and waved him off.
“Alright,” She groaned. “That’s enough. Quit being ridiculous, you’re about to become a father.”
“You love me.” He leaned up and pressed a kiss on Y/n’s forehead.
“I do.” She nodded, looking into his eyes. “You know, I hope they have your eyes, Eds.”
“Yeah?” He smiled. “Well, I hope they have their mama’s good looks.”
“Oh my gosh.” She laughed, shaking her head. “You’re insane, Eds.”
“Steve!” Dustin shouted upon seeing his best friend sitting in the hospital waiting room. Steve looked up at the sound of Dustin’s voice and stood up. “Where’s Y/n?”
“She’s up in the room with Eddie.” He answered. They were there for about four hours. Dustin and Claudia were unable to be contacted, as Dustin was riding around town on his bike and Claudia was at work, where there was very limited phone usage.
“Eddie’s here?” Dustin asked, prompting Steve to nod in confusion.
“Why wouldn’t he be?” Steve asked, glancing between Dustin and Claudia.
“Dusty and Eddie had a fight when we found out Eddie was the real father.” Claudia explained, adjusting her purse on her shoulder. “He hasn’t spoken to Y/n in a couple days.”
“What?” Steve’s eyebrows scrunched in confusion. “I thought they’re on good terms now?”
“They are.” Claudia nodded, then sent a stern look towards Dustin. “But Dustin, here, said some very mean things to Eddie and scared him away.”
“Why would you do that?” Steve asked. “You practically worship the guy.”
“Worshipped, past tense.” Dustin grit. “He lied to me.”
“Well, you can’t be mad forever.” Steve placed his hands on his hips and shook his head at Dustin. “He’s the father to your niece or nephew.”
“Yeah.” Dustin sighed, shifting his eyes towards the ground. “I know.”
“Uhh…” Wayne trailed, shuffling over to Dustin and Claudia. “I’m Wayne. Wayne Munson, Eddie’s uncle.”
“Claudia,” Claudia shook Wayne’s hand. “Y/n’s mother.”
“Nice to finally meet you.” Wayne smiled. “Both of you.”
“Ditto.” Claudia smiled. “Oh, but isn’t this exciting? We’re about to be grandparents!”
“I don’t know if I’m old enough to be a grandfather.” Wayne laughed. “But those two are so happy together.”
“Oh, I know.” Claudia gushed. “Y/n has never been happier than she has been with Eddie. It’s sweet.”
“Very.”
“Okay, mom,” A younger nurse clapped her hands as she walked towards the end of Y/n’s bed and lifted her blanket. “We’re going to check your dilation.”
“Okay.” Y/n nodded, her hand grabbing onto Eddie’s. The nurse placed Y/n’s feet onto the stirrups and checked her cervix.
“Have you felt a pushing sensation yet?” The nurse asked.
“Yeah.” Y/n said. Eddie squeezed her hand and gave her a comforting smile.
“Alright, you’re almost ten centimeters dilated and I can see your baby’s head.” The nurse said, covering Y/n’s legs back up. “I’ll go get the doctor and you’ll soon have your baby.” The nurse smiled and soon left the room. Eddie’s eyes went wide and he started to sweat in nervousness.
“Oh my god. They can see the head.” He let go of Y/n’s hand and ran his hands through his hair. “You’re about to have a baby.”
“I know.” Y/n gave a nervous smile. “I’m so scared.” Tears came to her eyes and her hands shook.
“Me too, sweetheart,” Eddie grabbed her hands again. “Me too.”
“I can’t wait to meet them.” Y/n smiled through her tears.
“Me either.” Eddie smiled. “Oh, do you have an extra hair tie?”
“Yeah, in my bag.” She pointed to the corner of the room where her hospital bag sat. Eddie turned and grabbed her bag, searching through the pockets. “Why?”
“You’re having a baby.” He stated, fishing out the hair tie and pulling his hair back. “It’s about to get messy here.”
“Eddie!” Y/n laughed, shaking her head. “You’re ridiculous.”
“You love me!” He quipped with a smirk.
“Yeah, whatever.”
“Miss L/n?” The doctor asked, walking into the room about two minutes later. “You ready to have a baby?”
“What would happen if I said no?” Y/n laughed nervously.
“Well,” The doctor smiled. “You’d still have a baby.”
“Then I guess I’m ready.” She grabbed Eddie’s hand and squeezed tightly as the doctor placed her feet back onto the stirrups.
“Alrighty.” The doctor sat down on a stool at the foot of the bed and began to give instructions. “I’m going to count to three and on three, I want you to push as hard as you can.”
“Oh my god.” Y/n screwed her eyes shut and Eddie shuffled his feet, becoming increasingly nervous.
“One,” The doctor began. “Two,”
“You got this, sweetheart.” Eddie whispered to Y/n, rubbing her shoulder gently.
“Three!”
“Eddie,” One of the nurses said after about ten minutes of pushing. “Look down, you can see your baby’s head.”
“Yeah?” Eddie moved a bit towards the end of the bed and looked between Y/n’s legs. He felt a little queasy at all of the blood, but his gaze was focused on his baby’s head. “Oh my god, they have a lot of hair.”
“Yes, a lot of it!” The same nurse agreed. “They got that from you, dad.”
“God, babe, they have so much hair.” Eddie told Y/n, who was focused on pushing still. Her face was beat red, sweat covered her entire body.
“Ugh!” Y/n groaned, taking in deep breaths. “I don’t know how much longer I can do this.”
“You got it, mom.” The nurse on her other side said. “Just keep doing what you’re doing.”
“I can’t.” Y/n cried. “I’m so tired!”
“A few more pushes until your baby’s out.” She comforted. “Just do a few more and then you’ll be done.”
“I can’t, I can’t!” Eddie buried his face in Y/n’s neck and rubbed the back of her hand with his thumb, whispering encouraging words to her.
“Two more big pushes, Y/n.” The doctor said from between her legs. “Ready, one, two-”
Y/n’s discomfort faded away the second she heard her baby’s cries. Loud, piercing screams flooded the hospital room. Both Eddie and Y/n burst into tears as well. Eddie’s eyes never left his baby as they were placed onto Y/n’s chest.
“Eddie,” The doctor asked, handing Eddie a scissor-like object. “Would you like to cut the cord?”
“Y-yeah.” He wiped his tears away and took the scissors from the doctor.
“It’s not going to hurt the baby, is it?” He panicked. The doctor chuckled and shook his head.
“The baby won’t feel a thing.” He assured.
“How do I do it?” Eddie asked.
“Just cut right here.” The doctor pointed to an area on the umbilical cord. Eddie nodded and gently snipped the fleshy cord.
“Congratulations, mom and dad.” One of the nurses clapped her hands. “You have a baby now!” Eddie looked at Y/n, tears in their eyes and big smiles on their faces.
Wayne was getting anxious and it was making everyone else anxious. His leg was bouncing, his head was in his hands, elbows resting on his knees. Nancy and Robin had shown up a few minutes ago after Steve called saying that the baby was on its way. Nancy was the one that promised Y/n and Eddie that she’d babysit whenever they needed. She has two younger siblings and is the most equipped to care for a baby.
“Can you stop?” Robin asked Wayne, making all eyes turn to her. “It freaks me out when other people freak out. And if, if you’re freaking out, then I freak out, then Y/n won’t let me hold her baby.”
“S-sorry.” Wayne scrunched his eyebrows in confusion.
“I accept your apology.” Robin smiled. Claudia gave Robin a strange look, but kept to herself. Everyone in the group jumped when someone came barreling out of the maternity ward doors. It was Eddie. His eyes were red from crying, his pulled back hair had a million flyaways, and he looked a bit tired.
“Eddie!” Wayne stood up, causing everyone to follow.
“It’s a girl.” Eddie began to cry again. “And she’s so beautiful!”
“A girl!” All the girls cheered. Nancy and Robin screamed and jumped up and down. Steve and Dustin hugged each other in celebration, happy to both be uncles. Claudia and Wayne gave each other a small hug as well, telling each other congratulations.
“Who does she look like more?” Robin asked eagerly. Everyone nodded in agreement.
“She- uh, she has a lot of hair. Curly, like mine.” Eddie began to describe, wiping away some of his tears. “But she’s just… so perfect. She looks more like Y/n than anything, but Y/n disagrees.”
“What’s her name?” Claudia asked.
“Oh, right.” Eddie laughed. “I came out here to tell you that too.”
“It’s Stevie.” Steve stated with a smirk. “I knew it.”
“It’s not Stevie.” Eddie shook his head, laughing. “Actually, Y/n and I compromised on a name. I chose her first name, she chose the middle name.”
“Ugh, enough with the suspense.” Robin groaned, punching Eddie in the arm. “Tell use the damn name!”
“Her name is-”
“Y/n!” Claudia immediately went to Y/n’s side. “Are you okay, sweetie?”
“I’m alright, ma.” Y/n smiled as her mother grabbed her hand. “Tired, but I’m alright.”
“I’m sorry that I wasn’t here for the birth.” Claudia apologized.
“It’s okay.” Y/n shook her head. “Everything went smoothly.”
“Where’s the baby?” Robin asked as she and everyone else filed into the room.
“The nurse just went to check her vitals.” Eddie said. “She’ll be back soon.”
“Wow, so like,” Robin sighed, eyes wide. “You’re a mom now.”
“Yeah.” Y/n giggled. “Crazy, right?”
“Totally crazy.”
“How long did it take to have her?” Nancy asked, crossing her arms.
“Oh, uhmm…” Y/n shrugged her shoulders. “I pushed for about twenty minutes, I think.”
“Wow, that was quick.” Claudia gasped. “I pushed for an hour with you and two for Dusty.”
“Mom.” Dustin blushed.
“Oh, look!” A nurse cheered upon walking back into the room, pushing a cart with the baby inside. “Everyone’s here to see you!” The nurse picked up the baby and placed her into Y/n’s arms, where everyone immediately flocked around. They cooed at the small baby, who was wrapped in a pink blanket.
“Everyone,” Eddie began, sitting by Y/n’s side. “Meet Mallory Rose Munson.”

Rhiannon - E.M.
Girl Dad!Eddie x Step Mom!Reader Blurb
2K Words
Eddie being a girl dad and he names his daughter Rhiannon. She's five years old and is his entire world, she's got him wrapped around her little finger.
A/N - I will probably most definitely be posting more detailed parts of this cause this concept has a chokehold on me now. Also I picture Eddie in this to look like this. Obviously you don’t have to but that was the vibe when I was writing it, I can’t stop picturing him like that courtesy of @lesservillain so thanks 🫠
Masterlist
She's an absolute rugrat and plays in the dirt, looking for worms and making homes for them with sticks and leaves. Loves to get smothered in mud right after it rains, her clothes just barely peeking out from underneath the mess while she rolls around in it, making snow angels except with mud. Refuses to get a bath afterwards and makes Eddie chase her around the yard before he ultimately catches her, scooping her up and getting the mud all over himself now. She protests in his arms, claims she won't be done playing for hours even though the sun is starting to set and she had been outside from the moment she finished breakfast after Eddie sternly told her she had to eat first and then could play after. Eddie blows a raspberry into her dirt smudged cheek, unbothered.
"The worms will be there tomorrow, I promise." She continues squirming in his arms and he just puts on a huge pout, his dramatics coming out.
"What about daddy and Rhin movie time? You gonna stand me up for the worms?" His fingers go to tickle her sides, eliciting a scream of laughter.
"You are so mean to me, you know that? I should just use the hose to wash you off!" He jokes, tossing her in the air, she continues to howl with laughter.
"No!!" She screeches, eyes crinkled. Eddie catches her once again and holds her to his side, much like a football as he starts racing through the yard, the overgrown grass tickling his ankles.
"Rhin is a meanie! Rhin is a meanie!" He mocks, bouncing her on his hip.
"Am not!! You're the meanie!" She yells. A gasp leaves her dad's lungs as he brings a hand to his chest. He flips her upside down, giggles erupting from her as she dangles from his arms.
"Take it back." He says, swaying her back and forth, her mess of brown curls inherited from him hanging around her face. They were for sure knotted from being outside all day, no doubt having traces of dirt scattered within them.
Her screams are cheerful and echo throughout the yard, neighbors glancing over as they join together with their families for their own summer activities, though they have scowls embedded into their features. The Munsons were never popular among the people of Hawkins but Eddie didn't care, too busy giving his little girl the best life possible. And if she was too occupied with giggling and playfully arguing with her dad to notice the looks of hatred on their neighbor's faces, who was he to give a shit about them?
After several seconds of dangling her upside down, she shouts "Daddy, I took it back, I take back!" Immediately, he flips her right side up, his cheeks hurting from smiling, dirt smearing his once clean clothes and his arms.
Before he can launch into another round of banter with his daughter, a voice interrupts. "Daddy bullying you again?!" You're stood with your hands on your hips, shouting to them from the porch, the sticky summer evening lingering on your skin.
They answer simultaneously, her a "yes" and your husband a "no". They look at you wide eyed, matching molasses colored irises staring at you. The sight is captivating, your little family standing among the long grass, cotton candy skies painted behind them, the two of them covered in dirt.
Eddie pipes up, raising a brow at his daughter. "Well this one, didn't wanna get a bath. So the hose it is." He teases, throwing her over his shoulder as he marches to the coiled up hose on the ground. She's cackling with laughter again, a sound you could never get tired of.
"I think I can make you an offer, Rhin." You chime in. "I have a tray of fresh baked cookies with your name on it. They're all gooey how you like. Not hockey pucks like last time." You bargain. "All you gotta do is get your butt in the bathtub."
She huffs but you know you've got her as she hangs over her dad's shoulder. "Fine!" She whines. "Can I have six?" The random demand has you softly chuckling, Eddie repeating "six!" in disbelief. "We'll see how you feel after one." You tell her with a playful glare. She sighs while throwing her head back, curls wiggling with her movements. "I'll take that as a yes, I'm gonna get the water started." You say walking back into your small home.
"Mama runs a real tight ship around here, doesn't she?" Eddie mumbles to Rhin. She chirps out a "yep!". You can still hear their little conversation through the open windows of the kitchen as you make your way to the bathroom.
"But we love 'er. Right, stink?" The smack of a kiss, most likely against her cheek is heard before you retreat into the bathroom to start a bath. You can't fight the grin on your face.
A ruthless bubble bath later, Eddie's clothes splashed with water and the floor covered in puddles from their rubber ducky fight, you're pulling another tray of cookies out of the oven, the chocolatey aroma engulfing the house. As you baked, screams of joy came from the bathroom followed by the sound of sloshing water which you cursed at under your breath since you warned Eddie to keep it to a minimum. Anymore water damage to the already peeling floor and you would have an expensive renovation on your hands. You couldn't stay too mad though, it was only the result of him bonding with his daughter.
The last cookie was placed using a spatula on the plate you had set out. You used this opportunity to peek into the bathroom, finding Eddie sitting against the wall next to the bathtub, jeans soaked where his ass sat in a prominent puddle, a rubber duck held in his ring clad hand.
"I lost the great war." He mutters in disappointment as he looks up at you. Rhin is focusing on smearing bubbles on his tattooed arm that rests along the edge of the tub.
You frown at him as you lean against the doorway. "Always hate to see it, baby." You say apologetically. "But you knew what you were getting yourself into." A finger points at him with a raised brow.
"Yeah, and you keep letting me go off to war." His pout makes you want to melt like the chocolate chips in the fresh baked cookies you just baked. The most adorable sight you could ever imagine.
"Well, when will my husband return from war, then?" You banter.
"Real soon, I hope. You gotta talk to this one." His thumb gestures to Rhin. Her bath toys are scatted throughout the tub and bubbles are stuck to her chin. Her attention shifts from rubbing the bubbles on his arm and her little hands make their way to her dad's cheeks.
"Daddy, pay attention!" Her hands deliver small smacks and in return, Eddie blows a raspberry into her tiny arm.
"We don't hit, remember?" He scolds her gently, his hands gripping her little wrists delicately. She pouts at him but nods. "If we want something, we ask nicely. No hitting." She turns to putty at her dad's serious tone. "Okayyy." She softly draws out, then returning to what she was going to show him.
You beam at them, your little family. Eddie was always terrified to bring anyone around his little girl, the fear that they'd try to get close only to reject his lifestyle and cause confusion for Rhin when they would decide to leave. They'd get a glimpse of the not so glorious life of a parent and run the other way, leaving him heartbroken. But not you.
When he met you over a year ago, you were working at the local supermarket, stocking shelves when a rowdy little girl happened to crash into your legs while what appeared to be her dad chased her frantically. Telling her "Rhiannon, you better get over here. I'm not joking." He was hot, you weren't going to lie, his brunette curls were wild and he had tattoos littering his skin, wearing a band t shirt and some ripped up black jeans adorned with a chain. You wouldn't take him for a dad if you'd seen him without his little twin. You let out an "oof" before addressing the tiny girl at your feet. "Hello!" You greet her cheerfully. She offers a shy smile as she says "Hi." Her dad glances at you apologetically. "Sorry about that." He grabs her hand in his large one. You insist that its no problem, even going as far as to compliment her. "You're gorgeous! I love your shoes." You refer to her pale purple sneakers decorated with flowers. Eddie swears his heart swells in the moment then remembers you must must not be from around here at your kind treatment toward them.
From then on he's making unnecessary trips to the store just to see if you're working, not even having the courage to talk to you. One day Rhin is putting him through it when he genuinely just needs to pick up some milk. She's grabbing everything, hanging off of his leg as he attempts to walk toward the back of the store, knocking things over. She ends up getting too wound up and excited, bumping into a display of greeting cards, sending them flying around the aisle. You happen to be stocking a shelf at the end of the aisle when you see the mysterious guy you'd been crushing on with his adorable daughter, kneeling in front of her with a vein practically popping out of his neck as he tries to keep cool.
"Rhiannon, what did I tell you?" His voice is low and he sounds like he's doing his best to hide his frustration. Her lip wobbles, as her eyes brim with tears. He continues lecturing her as you approach carefully, his gaze moving from her to you. "I-I um—I'm sorry, we'll clean this up." He stutters as he begins collecting the cards from the ground. What he doesn't expect it for you to join him, kneeling on the ground doing the same. "That's okay, we all make mistakes." You assure them both. "No big deal, right?" You nod to her sad little face. He can't get over how kind you are, how much compassion you offer him as a stranger, he's so used to the rude comments and hateful stares. You end up introducing yourself to the little girl, you didn't get the chance the first time when she ran into you.
"And what's your name?" You ask, still gathering cards in your hands, Eddie doing the same as he watches the interaction. "Rhiannon." She says bashfully. "Rhiannon." You say gently, as if you're in awe, exaggerating your excitement for the little human in front of you. "Like the song. That's beautiful, I'm so jealous." This allows her to open up a little more. "Well, I like your name too." She says, sporting a missing tooth at the bottom of her smile. "M' wearing the shoes you like." She puts her foot in front of her, showing it off. "You are! Those are so in style, I've been meaning to get myself a pair."
Eddie is shocked at how well you go back and forth with his daughter, his eyes wide and his mouth hung open in wonder. And then you’re looking to him expectingly and he realizes you’ve asked for his name as well. Suddenly his day isn't going so bad.
After several run ins with you at the grocery store he gets the courage to ask you out. He knows its risky, he never wants to put his family in a compromising position but he can't help it when every time he goes to the store, you're there to talk his daughter down from sprinting down the aisles. Telling her "Y'know, your dad is pretty old, I don't think he should be running around after you or else his knees are gonna give out." Eddie would drop his jaw at this, a playful glint in his eyes. "Daddy, you're old?" She would question. He would go to protest until Rhin would say "I don’t wanna make you run anymore if you’re like Grampa Wayne." And while he hated it, he couldn't say anything since it got her to stop racing through the store. When he goes to continue his shopping he'd just mutter to you "If I'm old then that means you're old, assuming we're about the same age." He would smirk as if he gave you the best comeback. You'd roll your eyes. "Whatever, Grandpa, better finish your shopping. Don't forget denture glue." Mean. In the most endearing way. He would get you back one day.
Then he makes his move, a stuttering mess that has no game whatsoever. Saying “S-so, bowling?” You can’t help but burst out laughing, the statement in itself is just so odd in the context of the grocery store, halfway through your shift as his daughter skips around, her attention on the sprinkles of the baking aisle. He shakes his head in misery, knowing that his attempt at being the slightest bit flirty went down the drain the second his mouth opened. Of course you tease him for it but agree to go out with him because you’ve had a little crush on him ever since you first saw him.
Fast forward to your first date when he’s finally able to get Wayne to watch Rhin, his work schedule taking priority until he finally has a night off and even gives Eddie a pep talk, letting him know that it’s okay that he’s nervous and to take things slowly, let it flow. “She already knows you got Rhin, the hard parts over.” And he’s right, there’s no pressure. You already know about the biggest part of his life and that makes things feel a little less tense for him. He’s attempted to date before but it never felt right and he always got too overwhelmed to continue anything.
Later that night you both learn that you suck at bowling and barely have any points but it doesn’t matter because you are having the time of your life and Eddie can’t stop smiling. The music is loud and he finds himself doing little dances on his way back to to the seats after he finishes his turn. You giggle at him every time, he has no rhythm but his moves are still cute. Sometimes he chucks the ball into the lane and it bounces and it only makes you laugh harder, the whole time is spent laughing. Especially when you decide to do a shot or two together. There is no containing that stomach clenching, kicking your feet, face hurting laughter. People were probably looking at you like you’re maniacs but as far as you knew, you and Eddie were the only ones in the room.
There are moments where you pass each other while swapping turns, you going up to grab a bowling ball but first you’d both pause and do a little dance together. Everything just clicked like it never had before and there was no way you were going to let him go after that night. And he felt the same way.
That’s how you came to be tonight, your loving husband, just recently married, with one arm around Rhin and the other around you on the couch for a movie, picked out by Rhin of course. She’s long gone, fast asleep since her day of playing outside wore her out, her little head resting against Eddie’s side as he pulls a blanket over her, pressing a kiss to the top of her head.
He’d turn to you and give you the most dopey smile, so in love with both his girls. “I have never seen a little girl as nuts as her.” He tilts his head toward Rhin. “She’s got me doing full on work outs just to keep up with her before it even reaches 10AM.” You stare at him fondly, his eyes so full of passion for his daughter. “She is like the actual spawn of the Tasmanian devil.” You laugh at this, giving his bicep a squeeze as you’re curled up into him, movie forgotten about in the background. “You love her.” You say confidently, a kiss pressed to his arm. He sighs contently. “God, I do, I love her so much. I was so scared when she was a baby but now I can’t imagine my life going any other way.” He smoothes her hair down gently so he doesn’t stir her awake. “And when you came in, oh god. I was fucked.” Your hand that had rested on his stomach gave it a little smack as a warning for his language around her even though she was in a deep sleep, a grunt escaping Eddie. “Baby, it’s true.” He defends. “Don’t swear in front of her. You know that she’ll pick it up super quickly and we won’t be able to get her to stop.” We. Eddie loved when you used we. He finally had a we. A family. Something he longed for for so long in his younger years, something he feared he never deserved or would ever come close to, it all rested in the palm of his hand. And he would treasure it forever.

How about reader X eddie have twins? They are both called double trouble. Something like that?
Hiii lovey!! So I hope you know you’ve just absolutely ruined me with this okay? Like really it’s rude 😂 but I hope you enjoy also I made them twin girls because I just want Eddie to be a girl dad so damn badly also I changed it to just trouble makers so I hope that’s okay?? Anywayyy here we go!!🙈🫠💖
-I picked the most RANDOM ass names for them and in this they are about 5-ish✨
*Eddie used to hate mornings but now he has two very special reasons to love them*
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“What are you in the mood for this morning? Juice or milk?” Eddie holds up the half gallon of milk in one hand and the carton of juice in the other as he faces the table in the middle of the kitchen. He chuckles to himself as he watches his little girl tap her chin as if she was deep in thought.
“Milk please.” He just smiles and places the milk on the table before putting the juice back in the fridge. “Morning Holly!” Eddie looks over his shoulder as a sleepy looking little girl makes her way towards the table, still in her pajamas and her curly hair a mess on top of her head. “Dad is making toast and eggs.” Elizabeth explains to her twin sister as she pours some milk into her glass.
“Morning Lizzy.” Holly mumbles as she reaches for the milk so she can pour herself some. “Morning dad.” Eddie smiles and takes the pan that has their scrambled eggs and places it in the middle of the table.
“Good morning sweetheart.” Holly smiles as he leans over and kisses the top of her head. “What’s the plan for today for my little trouble makers?” He asks as he puts a spoonful of eggs onto each of their plates before he goes over and starts on their toast. He knows they like to eat their eggs first and save their toast for last, something they picked up from their mother who usually lathers their toast in butter and jelly.
“Mommy is taking us to the mall to get new shoes for school.” Elizabeth says as she shoves a forkful of eggs into her mouth making Holly groan.
“What’s wrong?” Eddie raises an eyebrow as Holly rests her chin on her arm as she moves the eggs on her plate around with her fork.
“Good morning girls.” You smile at the two of them as you walk into the kitchen while tightening your robe around your waist. Holly just huffs as you place a kiss to her cheek while Elizabeth smile when you kiss the top of her head. “What’s with the face on Holly?” You ask Eddie as you grab a mug from the cabinet so you can make yourself some coffee.
“Lizzy mentioned going to the mall.” He answers as he leans over so he can steal a quick kiss from you before turning and grabbing the toast from the toaster. You hand him the jelly from the fridge after grabbing your creamer and pouring a little into your mug.
“You don’t want to go to the mall honey?” You ask as you pour some coffee into your mug. Holly just shrugs as she takes a bite of her eggs while Elizabeth downs the rest of her milk. “You can stay home with dad if you want?” You look at Eddie who just nods his head as he spreads jelly over their toast after a decent amount of butter just like they like it.
“Really?” Holly asks as Eddie puts a piece of toast on each of their plates. You watch Elizabeth instantly snatch it up and begin eating it with a smile on her face, she has always been a morning person unlike her sister who would prefer not to be bothered until mid afternoon.
“Sure.” Eddie answers as he sits down at the table and reaches for your mug so he can take a few sips of your coffee making you roll your eyes because you know he’s going to just end up drinking the rest of it. “We can finish reading the Hobbit if you want?” He watches Holly’s face light up and a smile take over as she just excitedly nods before taking a bite of her toast.
“Sounds boring.” You can’t help but laugh at how blunt Elizabeth’s tone is, Holly just rolls her eyes at her sister as you get up to make another cup of coffee. “But I’m sure you’ll have fun.” Eddie lets out a chuckle and shakes his head as Elizabeth reaches over and places her hand on Holly’s arm giving it a little pat.
“Please don’t let her pick my shoes out mom.” Holly begs causing Elizabeth to make a face as Holly looks at you as you steal a bite of the toast off her plate. “She will pick glittery ones.” She adds as she glares at her sister.
“Don’t worry sweetheart I’ll pick your shoes out.” You reassure her making her smile and go back to finishing her breakfast. The two of them finish eating and rush off to their room to get dressed leaving you and Eddie sitting at the kitchen table.
“I think Elizabeth reminds me of someone.” Eddie teases as he reaches over and grabs your hand so he can bring it to his lips and place a kiss to your knuckles.
“You know I was just thinking Holly reminds me of someone I dated a while ago.” You watch Eddie raise an eyebrow as you lean in so your noses are almost touching.
“Oh really?” You just nod as you reach over with your free hand and push some of Eddie’s hair out of his face and tuck it behind his ear.
“Yeah but now that I think about it I don’t remember Steve having curly hair.” Eddie let’s out a groan making you laugh as he shakes his head.
“You’re cruel.” You just smile as he leans in and places a kiss to your lips. “But I love you.” He mumbles as he pulls away.
“I love you too.” Eddie smiles as you pull away and give his hand a little squeeze. “Have fun with your little mini me today.” You state as he lets your hand go so you can go get dressed to take Elizabeth to the mall.
“Enjoy the mall with yours. Don’t go too crazy okay? I know how the two of you get.” 😂💖

You sat against the edge of the bathtub, waiting for the results. You wanted to find out alone. Eddie waited outside the bathroom door for your signal.
After a few, painstakingly long minutes went by, you quickly flipped the test over before you could have any second thoughts.
Two pink lines.
"Eddie?" You called out for him while you couldn't help but start to cry.
"Yes? Can I come in?"
"Yes." You sniffled and glanced up at him entering the doorway. He looked at you with worry in his eyes as he closed the toilet lid and sat down on it.
"So?" He anxiously bit his lip as he sat down adjacent from you on the edge of the bathtub.
"I'm pregnant."
"Woah." You both saw it coming, but didn't know how to react.
"Eddie. It's yours. You know that, right?" You wiped a tear. "the last time my boyfriend even touched me was at least 6 months ago."
"Ex-boyfriend, right?" He corrected.
"Actually.." you mumbled, rubbing your arm.
"Fuck. What the fuck?" he threw his hands up in defeat and then covered his face in frustration.
"I know I have to leave him. I didn't know when would be the right time to."
"I can't officially be with you, or officially care for our baby when I know you're with someone else. It's time to break it off with him." He managed to stay calm, although he was obviously disappointed. "and you thought I was married? You're the one who has a boyfriend!"
"I know." You stared at the ground. "anyways, can you tell me more about the pregnancy with Otis?" You needed to change the subject, needing something to reassure you that Eddie had been through this before, and knowing that he knew what he was doing.
"Okay," he sighed, rubbing his hands down his leg. "right after we got married, she fell pregnant. We planned it from the beginning. I just wasn't expecting her to leave so soon, not after we had been through hell together."
"Can I ask what her name was? Why did she leave you as a single father? Isn't that quite selfish of her?"
"It's not selfish of her. She would have stayed," he became more serious and stared right into your eyes. "She was murdered. They never caught the guy. Her name was Chrissy."
"Eddie.." You we're at a loss for words. "I'm so sorry."
"It's all in the past now. For so long, I blocked it out." He stood up and rubbed his forehead. "I'm done talking about it, you don't need this kind of stress. Get up off the floor."
You stood up and you walked into the living room together.
Eddie knew he had to start to get Otis comfortable around you. He knew you two would be living together fully in no time.
"Do you have anyone you want to tell the big news too?" He asked.
"I have to tell Scarlett. And Ezra. I don't want to tell my mom, she'd make it all about my dad. She's also very old fashioned, plus we're still grieving and we haven't spoken since he-." You seemed to have choked on your own words. "I know it's not ideal to tell your boyfriend you're leaving him because you got pregnant with another man's baby."
"Scarlett will be happy for you. Won't she?"
"Yes. Although she may kick me out of the apartment. She's the one who pays most of the rent after all." You sighed, thinking at all the setbacks this has already given you. "do you have anyone you want to tell?"
"My bandmates, Steve, uhh i don't know." He made it clear that didn't want to tell Otis until he could fully understand what was going on and when he got to know you a little bit more.
"You don't have any family?"
"Otis is my only family, really. I lived with my uncle. He passed away not too long ago."
You nodded, ready to face what was your greatest fear these past couple of weeks. "I better go tell Ezra."
"I'll come with you, just in case."
"Okay, just don't bring any weapons." You laughed. "We're still somewhat strangers, I don't know what kinda stuff you're hiding."
"I don't need to bring any weapons, one punch wearing these bad boys, and you're out cold for days." He pointed to the various silver rings that covered his fingers.
Tumblr media
"If you're not back in under 2 minutes, I'm coming in there." He rubbed your leg for reassurance. "remember, keep being your sexy confident self."
You stared at the brick house, gaining as much courage you could in that moment.
"Wish me luck." You unbuckled your seatbelt and walked up the steps to Ezra's house. He lived in a fairly big house, with lots of steps leading up to the front porch.
He opened the door, eyes widening when he realized it was you on his doorstep. "Finally. You've come to apologize."
"Actually Ezra, I need to talk to you."
He gave you an evil smile, "come inside."
You had no choice but to follow his lead.
Eddie watched from the car. "shit!" He whispered in frustration. He had lost his view of you. He got out binoculars from the center console and looked into the window, making sure to keep a careful eye on you. There was not a peep of noise coming from the car, only Eddie's heavy breathing, due to being so concentrated. Along with Otis babbling in the back, despite knowing how to talk.
"Please sit." Ezra demanded you sit on the couch next to him, but you refused.
"Ezra, I'm leaving you."
"What? Why? Don't act like you're the victim, you b-"
"I'm pregnant, and it's not yours. I don't love you anymore. I don't think I ever loved you, in all honesty."
he jumped out of his chair with all of his power. "YOU LITTLE SLUT! HOW DARE YOU? WHAT WERE YOU TRYING TO DO? GET REVENGE ON ME? GO KILL YOURSELF, YOU WHORE."
"You're the one who treats me like I'm a piece of shit!" You yelled back. It felt good.
"BECAUSE YOU ARE! SO YOU GO AND GET KNOCKED UP?" He slapped you across the face.
You fell to the floor, crying. You were begging him to stop.
Eddie could hear your screams and cries from inside. He was fuming. He jumped out and ran over to the front door, busting it down with all of the built up adrenaline and anger.
Ezra jumped back. "WHO THE FUCK IS THIS? THE FREAK WHO KNOCKED YOU UP?" He threw a punch right at your head, but luckily missed. "YOU'RE GOING TO BE AN AWFUL MOTHER, YOU SLUT! YOUR KID IS GOING TO HAVE THIS LOSER AS A FATHER?"
"I'd regret doing that if I were you." Eddie ran over and punched Ezra right into the stomach. He then got a hold of Ezra's neck and pushed him against the wall, in a chokehold.
"If you dare to say anything about my girl again, I'll make sure those are your last words." He threatened.
Ezra was very intimidated, he immediately became so small again. "Please, Im sorry. I'll stop. I will treat you better this time. I will love this baby, even if it's not mine."
"My mind has already been made up. I'd rather spend a life time in hell than ever get back with you."
Ezra was choking up, almost to the point of passing out. Eddie let go of him, having him collapse to the ground, barely breathing.
Eddie chimed in. "I'd agree with her. But, hell already is being with you." He grabbed your hand. "I'd never put a woman through what you put her through."
He held your hand as you escaped his home, not looking back. You jumped into the car, not waiting another second to speed out of there and never looking back.
Tumblr media
There you sat at the tv, waiting for the children's channel to come on.
You were still trying to recover from what an exhausting and anxiety ridden day today when you heard Eddies coming down the hallway, talking in his soft voice. "Otis, can you meet someone special for me? She's going to love you and take lots of care of you."
You weren't supposed to hear this, you knew if Eddie knew that you had overheard, he would be so embarrassed and pretend it didn't happen. You smiled once you saw Eddie holding hands with Otis, slowly walking towards you. He had hair that was a little lighter than Eddie's, a light brown. It was obvious that he had inherited Eddie curls, along with his eyes.
You spoke sweetly. "Hello Otis. My name is y/n. It's so nice to meet you." Even though you had met the little boy multiple times before, this was the first time you properly introduced yourself.
"Your name might be a little hard for him to pronounce." Eddie quietly whispered to you.
"Well then, you can call me whatever you'd like." You smiled at the little boy.
"Hi." He flapped his hand trying to wave and immediately held out his small arms for you to give him a hug.
You hugged him back. "how old are you?"
"This many!" He held out two fingers.
"Wow! That's so old." You gasped, getting a giggle out of him.
"I know, he's getting so big." Eddie kissed him on the side of his head and sat down on the couch next to you. He slowly wrapped his arm around you.
Otis jumped up onto the couch, wanting to sit on your lap.
The kids channel soon came on, Otis immediately sitting up and clapping his hands together. His attention was fully tuned into the little animal-like cartoons that were dancing around on the television.
"I'm so excited for us." Eddie turned to you and spoke in a deep, almost whisper.
"Me too." You glanced over to see a big wide grin on Eddie's face.
Tumblr media
As the night went on, Otis was slowly beginning to fall asleep on the couch. He had soon fallen asleep, clung to your lap.
“He’s so sweet.” You whispered to Eddie.
“He is. He’s my boy.” He wore a proud grin on his face. “Let me take him to bed.”
He swiftly scooped him out of your lap and whisked him into his bedroom. He returned a few minutes later, urgent to get back to spending some quality time with you.
“He was really excited to sit on your lap.”
“He was.” You nodded.
“Do you think he knows?”
“Who knows? Kids his age are supposed to be super intelligent with that kinda stuff. I wouldn’t be surprised.”
You agreed with him and reached for the remote. “What do you wanna watch?”
“Up to you. You’re the woman of the house now, you make all the big decisions.” He joked, wrapping his arm around your shoulder and cuddling up to you.
“I wish we could stay like this forever.” You slithered your arm around his chest.
“I don’t think forever would be long enough.” He sank further into your touch.

writing comfort for @oneforthemunny bc i need some rn
🐙 prompt- mafia!eddie
🐙- domestic blurb!! any of the dad!eddie’s take their kids to stay with wayne for a mini vacation (or staycation if they’re in hawkins). I love grandpa!wayne and dad!eddie make my ovaries cry.
a/n- i hc reader and eddie have a daughter phoebe. and ofc uncle wayne makes an appearance.
—————
“hey.” eddie smiles as wayne opens the door. “hi.” wayne softly laughs. i smile as he brings me and eddie into a tight hug.
phoebe pulls on wayne’s legs and he bends down, with his knees popping and he slightly groans, and picks her up. “hi.” she smiles. “hey buttercup.” he smiles at her.
we all head inside to the small trailer. we sit down on the couch and catch up, steering away from the conversation of eddie’s work.
halfway through, with the warm feeling of homely vibe of the trailer and the nice warmth throughout, i feel my eyes droop. “you okay?” eddie whispers to me. “fine, just tired.” i hum out. “okay.” he nods.
“daddy.” phoebe smiles. “yeah?” he asks. “there’s a pond. can we check it out?” she asks. “um, how about just you and pop-pop, me and mommy are gonna take a nap.” he explains. “okay!” phoebe smiles.
“wanna go check the hall closet for the gear?” wayne asks her. “yes.” she smiles and leaves. “listen. i love phoebe, but i swear to god, if you make another grand baby in this trailer, i’ll reek hell on you,” he explains. “especially because i’m giving you the bed.” he adds.
“got it.” eddie nods. “mhm. i’m actually just exhausted.” i agree. “okay.” wayne says. “found it.” phoebe smiles, running empty handed. “okay. let me go grab it and you stay.” he gets up.
“daddy? are you coming?” she asks. “no, me and mommy are gonna take a nap.” he nods. “okay.” she smiles.
“so. you wanna focus really on the elbow and wrist.” wayne tells olivia. “okay.” she smiles. “you like the one i got for you?” he asks her about the barbie fishing rod he has.
“you still play with those barbie’s and bratz?” he asks her. “yeah, and webkinz.” she answers. “got it.” he nods. “so how’s your daddy doing?” he asks her. “good. he’s been busy.” she answers, legs swinging.
“oh. how’s mommy?” he asks. “she’s good. she got me a new barbie and webkinz.” she smiles. “that’s nice.” he smiles.
he notices that her small line is pulling. “here. bring it in, bring it in.” he encourages and she does, getting a small fish. “i got one! i got one!” she cheers. “good job. here, let me get a picture.” wayne sets his down and pulls out his camera.
he snaps a picture of her holding the squirming fish. “here, let’s release it.” wayne says, reaching for the line. he throws it back and they continue the cycle.
“having fun?” eddie makes them both jump. “hey.” wayne nods at him. “daddy! daddy!” phoebe runs into his arms. “yeah?” he says, holding her against his chest. “i caught one!” she grins. “really? do you still have it?” he asks.
“no. grandpa wayne said it’s catch and re-release.” she explains. “oh okay.” he nods. “where’s mommy?” she asks. “she’s still asleep.” he explains. “okay. can you stay?” she asks. “okay. wanna sit in my lap or i can still on the ground?” he asks. “lap.” she nods.
he nods and puts her on his lap. wayne is really the only one fishing as eddie and wayne talk while phoebe listens.

“I’m sorry???” Eddie croaked out over the phone, and your teeth dug into your lip to fight a smile off.
“It’s innocent, Eds. They’re just seeing a movie together,” You mused and briefly placed the phone against your chest to listen for any cries throughout the house. Quiet. The baby was still asleep, thank god. You’d already raised two kids out of their baby phase of life, but this one was giving you and your husband a run for your money. Colic and Eddie’s genetics (dramatics) made for one hell of a Velcro Baby. Maple always had to be attached to one of her parents, or she was crying bloody murder and since Eddie was away for the next two days, it was you she needed to be on. You’d managed to sneak her successfully into her crib when she fell asleep—usually her big brown eyes flew open the second you bent over to lower her in since you were only ever allowed to be standing when holding Maple, per her demands—just before Eddie called (and you’d dove to stop that phone from ringing). He wasn’t impressed with your plans for the rest of the day, “I’ll be in the row behind her, with a baby hidden under my shirt and attached to my nipple, and Wayne if he doesn’t want to hang out with big Wayne. Don’t be dramatic.”
Eddie scoffed so you rolled your eyes.
“Don’t roll your eyes at me, young lady.” Your back straightened from your lean on the counter, eyes scanning the living room for the camera he had to have hidden as he kept talking, “What are you gonna do when this punk puts the moves on my baby girl, huh?”
“They’re ten years-old, Eddie. They’re gonna be sweating in their seats, I hardly doubt they’ll even hold hands.”
Eddie still didn’t like that. Really, there was no reason for Penny and whatever this kid’s name was to even be going to the movies. He’s sure the punk had a TV at home, and Penny had access to one, so they could just watch something separately in different homes, as in not together, and talk about it at school. Or not talk about it all. Not talk to each other at all. Yeah, Eddie liked that.
“Tell her she can’t go.” He demanded, shooting a glare at the PA staring at him, eagerly waiting for him to get off the phone so he could usher him to his next interview. The hostility in his gaze was enough to make that very PA poof, disappeared into thin air.
  “I’m not telling her that.”
“Fine, I’ll do it. Put her on the phone.” You didn’t bother hiding your smile anymore, grinning at his antics. He was such a dad and you loved it. Especially because you knew—what with him currently in New York—Penny would be at the movies with her little crush (and you, possibly your son, and your baby) whether Eddie liked it or not.
You called for Penny down the hallway and you could hear her galloping down after your voice.
“What?” She squawked out once she came to a halt at your side and like every other time she voiced that word in her flat tone with a hint of annoyance sprinkled in, you were reminded of the times your mother would reprimand you for being just as irritating.
You lulled your wrist forward, tipping the phone to her as you raised a challenging brow, “Your dad wants to talk to you.”
She quickly took the phone, holding it against the side of her head, hand pushing her hair out of her face before scratching her chin “Hi, daddy.”
“Hi, sweet pea.” You could hear him croon and you shook your head in amusement. He was so fake. “What’cha up to today?”
”Nothing. OOH, Uncle Lucas patched my bike for me!” She recalled, thinking back to when the Uncle in question had followed through on his promise to repair her flat bicycle wheel before catching his flight back to Chicago in time for his practice. Penny would be watching his basketball game on TV tonight, after the movie. She cheered as loud as she could for him, but sometimes she cheered for his other teammate, Michael Jordan, too. All the time. She cheered for Michael all the time.
“Of course he did, just had to steal my thunder. Mom says you’re gonna watch his game tonight.”
“Yeah, here at home since you can’t take us. . .”
“I said I’m sorry! I’ll take you to the Finals.”
“If they win.” Penny mumbled and they both went silent before bursting out laughing. The Bulls wouldn’t be losing tonight.
“Is that all you’re doing?” He asked, voice honey and sugar once he’d stopped laughing.
  “Pretty sure.”
“Pretty sure? As in, not entirely positive?” Eddie’s voice broke as it went high and he cleared his throat, “Nothing you’re intentionally leaving out?”
  “Nuh-uh.”
“What about your LITTLE DATE?! Penny, you’re too young, baby. What have we been talking about for years now, huh? Thought we agreed you’d wait until a couple of years into a marriage before you could start dating. You pinky swore. Wouldn’t you rather me go? You know how Maple is—do you want a baby crying in the background when you recall your first date for the rest of your life? And really, your mom is gonna be chaperoning, don't you wanna wait until I get back? What if this kid is one of those punks that tease you about your mom being hot? Wouldn’t you much rather have your cool, rockstar dad, instead of your hot mom, sitting menacingly—I mean—hold on don’t hang up, I meant ‘measuredly’—”
Penny’s eyes flashed over to you in a ‘can you believe this?’ manner as you heard your husband blabber on like some grown up in Peanut’ s Special and she rolled her eyes. Eddie must have mumbled something else because you saw her stand up straight and glance around the house with a pout before she mumbled back into the receiver, “I didn’t roll my eyes. . .”

eddie munson x f!reader
word count: 3k+
warnings: 18+, female!reader, dad!eddie, eddie is in his 30’s, divorce, swearing, infidelity (if there’s any tags missing please let me know!)
notes: i didn’t edit this! but it’s the first part in this new fic. i haven’t written in ages and feel pretty rusty at it, so please be easy with me. i hope you like it!
Eddie rubs over his face, wishing the grogginess of a Monday morning would wash away as his alarm begins to sound for the third time this morning. It’s loud and sharp. The noise he’s always found to be obnoxious, shoots a pain through his skull with each ring, he reaches over to hit the snooze button once more before rolling out of bed. His bare feet hit the carpet of his bedroom before he takes a deep breath. Barely any sleep, but he’s gotta get the ball rolling. Moving with ease, he’s sliding into the cleanest set of coveralls and socks he has. Soaked in oil stains that won’t come out no matter how many times he’s washed them. A once over in the mirror hanging above the dresser has always been long enough to sort his bangs out. And then he’s off, padding down the hall, he stops at the second bedroom door. The only other occupied room in the trailer he’s been calling home since leaving his Uncle’s.
Opening the door as quietly as possible, he peeks inside, seeing the tops of two heads of dark brown hair cuddled up with one another. Both on the bottom bunk. He smiles, pulling the door shut as he works his way into the kitchen, turns on the coffee pot. He catches sight of the manila envelope with the papers he’s been itching to sign and return inside. And that might’ve pulled a smile to the corner of his lips. Soon he wouldn’t be tied to her. Soon he won’t be a married man. And he couldn’t wait— not to say he hasn’t been on a few dates here and there, but a single dad? his kids are only away from him two weekends out of the month, when does he have time to start anything new with anyone? He remembers ten years ago when he met her, a freshly turned 22 year old, getting out of Hawkins for the first time in his life. He remembers the way her hair fell in curls that framed her face, the way her sweater was worn and had a hole in the sleeve, how she yelled her name over the music. Laura. He remembers how she hung on his arm and whispered good luck to him and pressed a kiss on his cheek. A girl he’d just met, a girl he married a year later. A girl he settled down for.
He forces every pleasant thought of her away when he remembers just what tore them apart— Eddie pushing in the door of their trailer. Her dress on the floor, another man’s shoes on the mat. His daughter’s were asleep in the room next door when he caught them. His wife fucking someone who he couldn’t even remember the name of, he doubts that she does either, in his bed. Eddie saw red then. How could his wife, the mother of their children, let another man into their home for a quick lay with them asleep through the thin walls. He can admit, maybe he wasn’t the most attentive to her feelings, maybe he worked longer and harder than he should have. Maybe he didn’t love her the way he did in the beginning. Things got distant between them. But he always showed her he cared in the ways that naturally came to him. He sat a glass of water on her night stand every night while she was in the shower, he had her coffee ready every morning before they went to work. Always a kiss on the head, squeeze of the hand, and a rushed, “I love you.” as she would rush out the door to get their oldest to school on time.
Eddie’s eyes catch on the flashing green numbers of the microwave clock and he’s sighing, walking over to the girls’ bedroom. He leans down, his spine creaking with each move, reminding him just how much strain his job and age is putting on his 32 year old body. He shakes the thought and twists on the little pink lamp on the bedside table. “Girls? Time to get up.” His voice is softer, lighter than anyone in this town that had ever known Eddie could imagine his voice being. He smiles down at the brown eyes peering up at him— hair every which way. If he was any other parent, he might’ve gotten choked up at the thought of it being his five year old’s first day of school. “Jane.” He says again, the lightness of his tone beginning to melt away, replaced with something a bit more stern— with more urgency. They’d be late if they didn’t get a move on. And that’s the last thing he needed, to give her another reason as to why he shouldn’t have custody of them.
His eight year old, Jane, sits up slowly. Who he can soon hear a groan of annoyance coming from and he knows he’s done his job. He can hear Alice, his youngest, squealing as she gets dressed— too excited for her first day. He smiles at that. He quickly pops a few pop-tarts into the toaster, darting into the bathroom himself to finish getting ready for the day as quickly as he can. He reaches into the jewelry dish on the back of the sink and slides his rings on— except for the one he loathes to see but can’t bring himself to get rid of. He couldn’t throw ten years down the drain like she could. “Daddy, can you do my hair?” Eddie looks down next to him where he hears Alice’s voice. Her smile stretched wide across her face, revealing that she had lost one of her bottom front teeth. Eddie nods, setting her up on the edge of the sink. Her legs are folded neatly in the bowl as he grabs her hair brush and a ponytail holder. He brushes her hair quietly, seemingly lost in his own head. He can hear the quiet hums coming from Jane across the hall as he braids Alice’s hair quickly. It turns out to be a very messy end product, but the smile on her face tells him all that he needed.
The toaster pops up just as Jane stops at the counter. Eddie is ushering Alice to the table behind her. “All set?” He asks softly as he’s shoving his wallet off the counter into the back pocket of the coveralls.
Jane smiles, quietly eating her pop-tart as her sister tiptoes to reach the other. “All set, dad.” Her voice has always reminded Eddie of himself. Something he used to wish she would’ve gotten from her mother, but here he is now so thankful she holds a piece of him. Jane grabs her backpack, holding Alice’s up for her and Eddie’s grabbing the keys. He pauses at the door for a moment, as the girls climb into the car. His eyes fall on that manila envelope. He’s quick, stepping back into the house to swipe it off the dining table with a pen, pulling them out and scratching a signature across them. Deciding he’d rather get this done sooner rather than later. Climbing into the car, tossing the envelope into the passenger’s seat, he’s hoping that he’s got the energy to deal with his ex-wife at drop off.
*****
Jane is quick to find her classroom, not needing Eddie’s help. She’s as independent as they come, Laura used to say to him. But Alice? Alice holds onto his hand, begs him to walk her to class and he just can’t say no. Not even when he sees Laura and her newest beau standing outside of her classroom, waiting on them. Alice perks up, letting go of Eddie’s hand to run into her mother’s waiting arms. Laura lifts her up with a grin, eyes meeting Eddie’s. “you’re late.”
“It’s three minutes, let it go.” he sighs out, pinching the bridge of his nose. The man next to Laura extends a hand to him and Eddie pauses. His eyes flick up to his, dropping his own hand from his face to shake gently as he introduces himself. Eddie looks skeptically, he can hear and see the other parents inside and his blood is already boiling at the thought of this guy spending the first day with his daughter instead of him. But, he has to pay the bills— has to get to work. His attention turns to Alice and Laura moments after dropping the handshake, “are you good to stay with her?” he asks, the need to leave pushing at the base of his skull.
“No, daddy! Stay, please.” Alice pouts at him after her short shriek, hands starting to fidget nervously. Before Eddie can respond, a kind face is popping into the doorway. He isn’t sure what comes over him in that moment, he feels stupid and dumb, and 22 again. The back of his neck is hot, something he hasn’t felt like this in years.
“Well, you must be Alice Munson.” You smile at the little girl, taking in the appearance of the pale blue smock dress and black shoes buckled neatly. You introduce yourself to whom you can only assume to be her mother, learning her name to be Laura. You extend your hand to the man beside her, “and you must be Mr. Munson?”
Eddie clears his throat, reeling from the most innocent two words in this conversation, two fingers popping up with his slightly raised hand, “no, that would be me.” He gestures so casually you almost miss it, as he tries to push down the rising embarrassment. But Laura can, and maybe she has an eyebrow raised as Eddie shakes your hand to be polite. Alice is quiet, shy, reserved, and sticks next to Laura as she and Beau walk her into the classroom.
“I’m so sorry, Mr. Munson, I just assumed—” you start to explain yourself, feeling that hot rush of embarrassment beginning to take over.
“Oh, please. It’s just Eddie.” He replies with a kind smile, silver clad hands shoving deep into his pockets. “Pickup is still at three, yeah?” You hear his question as you study how deep the dimples of his cheeks are, how there are a few strands of hair that curl just under his jaw.
You finally manage to respond, nodding your head, “I’m sorry, excuse me, didn’t mean to zone out on you there.” you clear your throat. “Yes, pickup is at three, Mr. Mun— Eddie.” Your smile is just as kind as Eddie’s was, something that sent a shockwave through Eddie’s core. He nods, afraid to say anything else. He peeks into the classroom, waving at Alice before he’s turning on his heel to walk down the hall and out of the front doors. You take a deep breath, collecting yourself. You’ve never felt so shaken simply by someone's presence. You catch your eyes drifting to Alice and Laura throughout the morning as they settle in. She seemed to need a little extra help in opening up, feeling comfortable in her own space, but she easily bids her mother farewell when they stand to leave. Something you weren’t expecting after noticing how she reacted to Eddie having to leave.
Laura stops at the door where you were standing to thank parents for coming and she passes you a small sheet of paper. “This is all of her emergency contact information. Eddie sometimes forgets to add me to the forms.” You nod in response, “if he’s late for pickup, which I’m sure he will be, please give me a call?” She smiles again and you try to keep your expression calm, collected.
“I’ll pass this along to the secretary. She handles all of the emergency forms.” You fold the paper, holding it in your hand as Laura sends on last wave to Alice before leaving. You take a deep breath, already putting together that she’s going to be a handful to deal with throughout this school year. With a turn on your heel and a chipper call to your students, you file the emergency contact information with the things to take to the school’s office on your planning period. Today is the day where you’re determined to learn all of their names, to see their faces light up when you remember the fun facts they’ve told you. But with each activity you do and game you play, you notice little Alice Munson off to the side, watching with a smile as big as her father’s, but not interacting with the other children. And no surprise to you, you find her eating her lunch alone at her desk instead of the scattered tables around the back of the room.
You decide to take a seat at the desk in front of her with your own lunch, offering her some silent company. And she appreciates it, you can see the way she straightens up, smiles. You watch as the gears start turning in her head, wanting to start a conversation with you. “How is your first day going, Alice?” You ask, taking the pressure off of her slightly.
She picks at the sandwich in front of her before looking up at you. You see so much of her father in her eyes— and you start to reprimand yourself. You don’t think about other student’s parents this much? Why is Eddie Munson so different? “It’s okay. I miss my daddy.” She shrugs a bit.
“Yeah?” You can feel the way that one sentence starts to tug at your heart strings. “I know that can be hard. But, you’ll see your daddy soon. Yes?” You reassure her, eating a bit of the oatmeal you had brought. You notice how she sinks back in her seat, embarrassed for the moment of vulnerability. “You know, sometimes I miss my dad too.” You push the oatmeal around, pausing to check her reaction. And fortunately for you, it’s a positive one.
“Really?” Alice grins, enthusiastically.
“Yeah, really. It’s good to miss the people we love. I’m sure your daddy misses you just as much.” You explain to her, just as the bell rings for recess— with the recess monitor lining up the class by the door. You smile, nodding your head at Alice to go on and she listens.
*****
You spend the rest of the school day chasing after 28 5-year-old’s, smiling as they give you flowers and rocks they had found outside on the playground. You display them each proudly on the edge of your desk, knowing by the end of the year, if this keeps up, you’ll have many dried flower bits and rocks to add to the basket in the bottom drawer of the cabinet. When your eyes drift to the clock and see the time getting closer and closer to three, your stomach starts to turn in knots.
The last bell of the day is right on time at 2:55. Parent after parent filing in to fetch their small children, smiles on their faces and rambling all about how fun their first day was. But at 3, Alice sits in her seat, quietly coloring on a page in her journal— almost like she thought she’d be sitting for a while— as another little girl peeks into the room. You share a confused look between the two of them, but realize with how much they look like Eddie, they must both be his daughters. You stand up, offering her a seat next to her sister.
Eddie’s really trying. He pushed around his schedule, he made sure he covered the rest of the work that needed to be done. He had to be there on time. He can’t just give her anything to use against him on a silver platter. His eyes flick from the speedometer to the clock on his dashboard. He’s got ten minutes. If he can make it in ten minutes, he’s got it. Nothing to worry about. He can just hear Laura now, telling the court just how much he doesn’t deserve them— just how big of a screw up he was. How she wished she picked literally anyone else to procreate with. Eddie’s heart stings. He remembers that fight, how she attacked the one thing he’s proud of. The one thing he’d give everything in his life up for. The moment he became a father was the moment everything changed for him. When he checks the clock again, he’s got five minutes to get there. Then three as he whips into a parking space away from the line of cars waiting to pick up their kids and he bails out, barely getting the car in park before he’s running inside. He comes running up the hall, chest heaving as he breathes heavily, “I’m here!” He’s got oil stains drenching the coveralls, oil smudged onto his cheeks.
And before you can say anything to him, Alice grins as she stands, abandoning the journal as she runs to greet her father. Eddie leans down to hug his daughter tight, neither of them worried about the oil stains or smudges. You notice the older of the two gathering Alice’s things and Eddie presses a kiss on her head gently. “Did you guys have fun on your first day?” he asks softly before he notices you watching them. He feels his cheeks starting to turn red and he nods in your direction before he ushers the kids out to the car.
As he climbs into the driver’s seat, his forehead hits the wheel for a moment. He takes a deep breath and breathes out slowly. He’s trying to get a grip. No one has ever had that kind of grip on his emotions. Not even Laura. Eddie has never been one to believe in soulmates, but he thinks he can get behind love at first sight. It’s happened to him twice. Twice. Jane is the first to speak up, “Allie’s teacher seems nice.” All he could do is nod as he sits himself up, puts the car in drive and takes them back to the comfort of their home.

Y/N L/N’s voice was a constant in Eddie’s house with his daughter, Isla, being a huge fan. He most likely listened to Y/N’s album more than the singer herself had. And as soon as Y/N L/N had announced her tour Isla had been begging for tickets. And one thing about Eddie is that he would do anything for his little girl, so he patiently waited for when the tickets would go on sale. And when they did, he was busy. Of course.
Eddie, even though he has been out of the limelight for a decade now, he never stopped working in the industry. He now was a producer, and god he loved it, he may have loved it even more than being a recording artist.
So of course he was working with one of his favourite clients, finishing a song they had been working on for a while now. Working past their set hours of today.
He had only learned he missed the tickets, completely forgetting it was today, when Isla comes barrelling down the stairs of their New York penthouse.
“Dad! Tickets were today! Did you get us some?” Isla said, hastily, clearing having been waiting hours for her Dad to get home.
Eddie on the other hand can’t believe he forgot, it’s just been the only thing Isla had been talking about for the last few weeks. He felt awful, he never wanted to disappoint her. So he lied.
“Of course I did, Sweetie!” What else was he supposed to do? When Isla jumped into his arms in joy, he almost didn’t even feel guilty. Almost, because now he had to think of a way to get himself out of this.
“Oh, my god! Thank you, Daddy! I have to go tell Jenna!”
As soon as Isla was out of Eddie’s sight, his slime slipped right off his face. He had to jump right into action. Being in the industry helped, but being a legend to the industry helped more. Eddie emailed his team, to try their best to get tickets, spare the cost. When they all came back empty handed, he went onto his next order of business, getting in contact with the woman herself. Now he couldn’t exactly get into contact with her directly, he messaged her team. Which in his opinion was close enough.
Y/N’s team had responded first thing the next morning, sharing a more than enthusiastic response, saying he and his daughter could even have backstage passes. At that Eddie couldn’t wait to tell Isla, not only would she be going to Y/N’s concert, that would also get to meet her idol.
-
Today was the long awaited day, the day of Y/N’s concert. It wasn’t only Eddie and Isla that were excited for tonight's show, Y/N’s team had told her today that Eddie Munson, a rock legend, and his daughter would be attending her show. Y/N always gets nervous before shows, but knowing that Eddie Munson would be in the crowd and that she would be meeting him after the show, caused an unforeseen amount of worry to form in Y/N’s stomach.
But as usual all the nervousness and worrying thoughts left as soon as she played the first note of ‘emails i can’t send’ as the concert began.
-
Eddie did not expect to enjoy the concert that much, the music itself wasn’t exactly his style, but it was the presence that Y/N had on stage that captivated him. And it was at this point Eddie realised he had never seen a picture of Y/N before, and god was she gorgeous. She had this beauty that ran deeper than just her looks, her smile redacted warmth and her kindness shown through when she talked to the crowd.
Eddie naturally felt awkward about his attraction towards her, she was easily 20 years younger than him, his son had a better shot than he did. But that sure as hell didn’t stop the thoughts that came into mind when Y/N sang her more explicit lyrics.
And with Eddie’s new found attraction towards Y/N, it only made him nervous for their meeting after the show.
-
Eddie and Isla were currently walking down the hallway they were directed to, with Isla leading the way. And when Y/N came into their view standing at the snack table, drinking a bottle of water, Isla ran up to Y/N not being able to contain her excitement. Eddie in the meantime, having a reaction to seeing Y/N of his own. Eddie froze, his breath caught in his throat.
“Hi! Oh god, I can’t believe I’m meeting you! Can I have a hug?”
“Of course, sweetie. You’re Isla right?” Y/N said, pulling Isla into a tight hug.
“Yes. I can’t believe you know my name.” As Isla was having an existential crisis, Eddie spoke up, finally having the courage.
“Hi, I’m Eddie. It’s nice to meet you.”
“Yes, you too! My parents love your music.”
“Oh, that aged me.” Eddie joked back, with no real offence in his voice. Though he did place a hand on his heart to seal the deal.
“No! Please, you’re not that old. You’re what 35- 40” Y/N said, looking into Eddie’s eyes, her cheeks spread in a wide smile.
“Now I know you’re kidding.”
“No, really I’m not. How old are you?”
“46.”
“No!”
“Yes.”
While the two had their little back and forth, Isla recovered from her crisis, and watched the two adults that were clearly both into each other. So of course in true Isla fashion, she did everything she could to make her idol, a possible new step-mom.
“He’s single too.” Isla blurted out, she’s never been good with filters.
“Isla-”
“Is he?”
“Oh- I- I’m not- you’re not-” Eddie stutters, not knowing exactly how to respond to that.
“Well, I’m staying in New York for a couple weeks, you could call me?” Y/N says, having no idea where this new found confidence of hers is coming from. But nonetheless runs with it, grabbing a napkin from the snack table the trio was standing by and writing for number on  it before handing it to Eddie.
“Um, I have to now. It was so lovely meeting you Isla, and it was great meeting you Eddie..”

Apology video coming soon. Until then fluffy dad!Eddie mom/parent!reader content
He insists the entire time you're pregnant that it's a girl. You tell him it's a 50/50 chance, that no one knows.
"I do." He says it definitively, the way he used to tell you back in high school that you're going to end up together someday, end up exactly where you are now. Even after being together for so long, you still wake up to him touching your face, gazing at you like he wants to kiss you, the way he always has. Now in between smothering your face with the most loving adoring kisses, more than you knew a person was capable of, he kisses your belly, caressing each new stretch mark as it appears and talking to your baby.
"hi princess," he smiles. his confidence is unwavering. you start to think you might be having a girl too. three trimesters later your baby, a healthy little girl you name Rose, is welcomed into the world. watching Eddie hold her, it hits you that he was right again. he's an amazing dad, easily the best you've ever seen. uncle Gareth and uncle Jeff - among your other close friends and family - come to visit often, and there's usually someone over to help with the baby and the housework and spend a little quality time with. once his paternity leave is up and he starts going to the studio again to write corroded coffin's next album with the guys, and he's just overflowing with ideas. He's never been more inspired, felt more right than he did holding your baby. much later when their next tour rolls around, he surprises the crowd with an unreleased song, only played in the nursery in your home together; the lullaby he wrote your daughter. he sings more tenderly, more heartfelt than you've ever seen him, and Rose becomes a fan favorite encore at their shows. during one of those shows, you wait for him in the wings, your daughter now walking and hugging your leg. at the end of the song she slips away, running on stage and crying out for her dad. he greets her with a smile, scooping her up and hugging her close.
"hi dad!" she babbles.
"hi Rosie," he coos. she smiles up at him just like you do, her rainbow brite sweater shining under the stage lights.
"do you want to say hi?" he asks, holding up a mic. she leans in and babbles out a hi, waving to the crowd. he finishes the last verse of the song with the angel he wrote it for in his arms. you wave at him from the wings, and his chest sqeezes, realizing his dreams really have come true. none of them have ever seen a crowd full of metal heads cry and fawn as much as they did that night.

Eddie Munson x Pregnant!Henderson reader part 4
Warnings: Swearing, a bit of smut, tension within the family, moving out
Word count: 3684
A/n: I really hope that you guys like this part. I tried my best to make it the best quality, but I'm not sure if it's declined a bit since I'm back at college. Let me know what you guys think !
A/n: This also jumps around all over the place.. I'm so sorry, my brain is scrambled eggs.
I think I'll write little parts about whatever you guys want to see happen within the story.
What I have planned:
Hellfire meeting Mallory
Eddie Munson taking care of Mallory when Y/n isn't home
Dustin as an uncle
Wayne and Claudia as grandparents
If you guys want to read about something with this little trio, send me a DM and I'll have it written up!
Masterlist
Y/n and Mallory were discharged from the hospital after two days. Eddie had been going back and forth from the trailer, to the hospital, to Y/n’s house, then back to the hospital in order to get things ready for the baby. Y/n and Eddie had talked about it a little bit before, but they never really got to a solid plan for the living situation. Claudia argued that the best place for Y/n and Mallory was with her at her house, but Wayne thought that it’d be easier if she and the baby lived in the trailer because then Eddie wouldn’t have to go back and forth between houses to see his baby.
“I just think that our home is better for the baby.” Claudia said to Wayne as they sat in the waiting room of the hospital, waiting for Y/n and Eddie to gather all of their things from the room.
“I understand where you’re coming from.” Wayne nodded. “But at the trailer, both Eddie and Y/n can take care of Mal.”
“No offense to you, Wayne,” Claudia began. “But I do not want my granddaughter living in a trailer park.”
“You think the trailer park is dirty or something?” Wayne squinted his eyes. “Look, it’s not the best place, but I don’t want Mallory to grow up with her parents going back and forth.”
“Wayne,” Claudia sighed, shaking her head.
“And you don’t want Eddie living at your place, so I don’t see why it’s a big deal if the two just stayed at mine.” Wayne continued. “I’ll gladly take Y/n in.”
“It’s not about taking Eddie in, Wayne.” Claudia sternly said. “They’re not married. They shouldn’t be living together.”
“That’s ridiculous.” Wayne scoffed, placing his hands on his knees. “They just had a baby for Christ’s sake.”
“That does not give them permission to behave like a married couple.” Claudia said, exasperated.
“Claudia,” Wayne leaned forward slightly. “They have a baby together. It doesn’t matter if they’re married or not, that baby needs to be taken care of!”
“And she will be.” Claudia nodded. “At my house.”
Claudia and Wayne never told Y/n about this little spat that they had. However, Eddie knew all about it via Wayne complaining about it. No, Wayne didn’t hate Claudia… Wayne didn’t really hate anyone. He was just annoyed that he wasn't able to see his "granddaughter" as much as Claudia was allowed to. He was also annoyed with the fact that Eddie would have to constantly go back and forth everyday just to see his daughter.
"Do we have everything?" Eddie asked Y/n, who sat in a wheelchair cradling Mallory in her arms.
“Looks like it.” She nodded. “We didn’t really bring much stuff.”
“That’s true.” He agreed, still glancing around the room for any objects of theirs that they may have left behind. “Well, then I’m ready if you two are.”
“We’re ready.” Y/n smiled, accepting the kiss that Eddie pressed to her lips. He stood up and grabbed the handles of Y/n’s wheelchair, pushing her out of the room. They wheeled down the maternity ward hall, waving at the nurses and doctors as they bid them goodbye. Y/n smiled down at Mallory’s sleeping face. Even though she was only two days old, she had a full head of hair. The day before, Wayne had told Y/n that Eddie also had a full head of hair when he was first born as well. He promised her that he’d pull out Eddie’s baby books to show her just how much hair Eddie had when he was born. Mallory was absolutely perfect. Sure, every new parent thinks that their baby is perfect, but everyone that saw Mallory instantly fell in love with the small brown-eyed, curly-haired girl. Although Y/n couldn’t stop looking at Mallory, she was absolutely exhausted and couldn’t wait to be home and shower.
“Wayne!” Eddie smiled upon seeing his uncle in the waiting room. Both Claudia and Wayne stood up and smiled at the new parents.
“Hey, Eddie.” Wayne smiled, giving him a hug. “Ready to go home?”
“Yeah.” He nodded. “I told Mal all about the trailer.”
“Oh, everything’s already set up at our home.” Claudia said, making Eddie nod.
“Really?” He asked in surprise. “Thanks, Mrs. Henderson!”
“We’re just here to see if you need any help with your things.” Claudia smiled.
“We’re all good here.” Y/n told her mother. “We just need a ride.”
“I brought my car.” Wayne said. “The car seat is already set up.”
“Perfect.” Y/n sighed. “Thank you, Wayne.”
The car ride to Y/n’s house was pretty much silent. Y/n had sat in the middle of the back seat in between Mallory’s car seat and Eddie. But the second Mallory was asleep, Y/n fell asleep as well, her head leaning on Eddie’s shoulder.
“You three make a beautiful family.” Wayne complimented, looking in the rearview mirror.
“I was thinking the same thing.” Eddie smiled, his arm wrapped around Y/n, hand resting on Mal’s car seat. “I was also thinking about getting a job. A real one.”
“Oh yeah?”
“Yeah.” Eddie nodded. “I don’t want to burden you guys with a screaming baby at night. And I think it’d be easier if we were all under the same roof.”
“I think so too.” Wayne agreed. “Listen, if you need help, I’ll always be there. Hell, I will get you two an apartment if it means Mallory will be well taken care of.”
“You mean that?” Eddie asked, eyebrows scrunching.
“Of course.” Wayne said sincerely. “I don’t want you two living from paycheck to paycheck.”
“I’d actually really appreciate that, Wayne.” Eddie answered. “We all would.”
“Consider it done, then.” Wayne smiled. “I know a good place for you three.”
“Okay, Mally girl,” Y/n cooed, placing the baby on a towel that had been laid out on her bed. “I’m gonna change you now.”
“Can I do it?” She heard Eddie say from the doorway of her room. Y/n smiled and nodded.
“Sure.” She moved over to allow Eddie to stand in front of his daughter. “It’s number two, though.”
“I don’t care.” He shrugged, rolling up his sleeves. “I’m a dad now, gotta get used to getting down and dirty.”
“Well, then,” Y/n smirked, patting him on the back as she passed by. “I’ll leave you to it.”
“How bad can it even be?” Eddie asked his daughter, who stared up at him.
“Y/n!” Eddie shouted from the bedroom. “Oh, god, Y/n, she’s peeing everywhere!”
“You gotta do it fast, Eds.” Y/n stood by the doorway, watching as Eddie scrambled to find a clean diaper. “The air is cold to her.”
“Oh god, oh god,” Eddie grabbed a fresh diaper and quickly wiped away at Mallory’s bottom. “Okay, okay, I think I got it.”
“Don’t forget to stick the tabs on the sides.” Y/n pointed out, an amused smile on her face. Eddie did as he was told and fastened the tabs on the side of the diaper. He clapped his hands and pointed at Mallory.
“Did I do it?” He asked hopefully. Y/n walked over to the bed and looked at the baby.
“Actually, yeah.” She nodded, impressed. “You did pretty good.”
“Crushing it.” He sang, making Y/n giggle.
“C’mon, let’s put her to bed.” She said. He nodded, gently scooping Mallory up and walking her to her crib at the end of Y/n’s bed. The two young parents stood watching their newborn daughter sleep. Eddie wrapped his arms around Y/n’s waist from behind her, resting his chin on her shoulder.
“I love you.” He whispered in her ear, making her smile.
“Yeah?”
“Yeah.”
It was about four in the morning when Mallory woke up crying again. Y/n groaned and sat up in bed, cradling her slowly-shrinking stomach. She sat on the bed for a few more seconds, trying to get up without hurting herself. She hadn’t gone to bed until two in the morning because she was afraid that Mallory wouldn’t be okay. Eddie sat with her the whole time, but was soon told by Claudia that he should’ve been home already.
“Babe,” Eddie, wrapped his arm around Y/n’s shoulder as she sat on her bed, watching her daughter sleep in her cradle. “You need to go to bed.”
“I can’t.” She shook her head. “What if she needs me and I don’t hear her?”
“You need sleep, Y/n.” He said. “You have people here that can help you if you don’t hear her.”
“But what if she stops breathing?” Y/n said, voice shaky. “If she stops breathing, then I won’t hear her if I’m asleep.”
“There is a very low chance of that happening, babe.” Eddie rubbed her back. “She’s the healthiest baby, the doctor even said so.”
“I know, but-”
“Y/n,” Claudia poked her head into the room to see her daughter being comforted by Eddie. “It’s time for Eddie to go home.”
“What?” Y/n panicked. “You mean he’s not staying?”
“I’ll be back tomorrow morning.” Eddie assured her. “Six AM sharp.”
“Do you promise?”
“I promise, sweetheart.” Eddie leaned his head down a bit and gave her a few kisses. “I would never leave you and Mal forever, babe. I’ll see you tomorrow.”
“Okay.” Y/n nodded. Eddie stood from the bed, walking out of the room. As he passed through the threshold of her bedroom, her turned around and pointed at Y/n.
“Go to sleep!”
“Yes, dad.” Y/n rolled her eyes playfully. Eddie shook his head, laughing. Claudia walked Eddie to the front door and bid him goodbye. As Eddie stepped outside, he turned to Claudia.
“Hey, can you keep an eye on Y/n?” Eddie whispered to Claudia. “I’m afraid she won’t try to sleep tonight.”
“What? Why?” Claudia’s eyes widened in worry. She glanced behind her and stepped outside, shutting the front door behind her. “Is something wrong?”
“She’s afraid that something will happen to Mallory.” Eddie frowned. “That she’ll stop breathing and she won’t be able to help her.”
“Oh, my poor girl.” Claudia sighed, sadness filling her eyes.
“Just, you know,” Eddie sighed, trying to find the right words. “Make sure she’s okay at night, when I’m not here. Both of them.”
“Of course, Eddie.” Claudia nodded. “Thank you for being a good man to my daughter.”
“I know, Mal.” Y/n said, slowly rising from the bed, walking towards Mallory’s crib once she got up from the bed. “Mama’s here, honey.” She reached down and scooped up her daughter. Y/n shuffled to the kitchen, cradling Mallory to her chest. Y/n laid Mallory down in her carrier that she had set on top of the dining room table, keeping her in Y/n’s line of sight as she made her a bottle. Mallory had stopped crying once Y/n gave her a pacifier for the time being, so Mallory didn’t wake the whole house.
“Okay, my baby,” Y/n cooed, shaking the freshly made bottle. “Mama’s got your food.” Y/n moved her carrier and sat her on the chair next to her to feed her baby. She gently pulled the pacifier out of Mallory’s mouth and replaced it with the nipple of the bottle. Y/n sat at the table, her daughter eagerly nursing the warm milk from the bottle.
“Y/n?” A voice whispered. Y/n looked up from her daughter and saw Dustin tiptoeing to sit across from her.
“Hey, Dusty.” She greeted. “What are you doing up?”
“I uh, heard Mal cry.” Dustin admitted, making Y/n blush.
“I’m sorry.” She apologized. “She got hungry.”
“It’s okay.” Dustin said. “I just wanted to see if everything was okay.”
“Yeah, she’s fine.”
“Are you?” He asked, making Y/n frown.
“What do you mean?”
“Mallory isn’t the only one I’ve heard crying.” Dustin admitted, making Y/n sigh.
“I’m still pretty emotional, Dustin.”
“Sure,” He nodded. “But you’ve never cried like that before.”
“Dustin, I’m fine.” Y/n squinted her eyes at him. “I’m alright, don’t worry.”
“You have a lot of people to help you, Y/n.” Dustin said, making Y/n sigh.
“I know.” She smiled at her little brother. “Thank you.” Y/n looked back at Mallory and saw that she was done with her bottle. She set the empty bottle on the table and took Mallory into her arms and began to gently pat her back.
“Can I try?” Dustin asked timidly. Y/n looked at him and smiled.
“Yeah, sure.” She nodded. Dustin stood up and walked to the chair that had Mallory’s carrier on it. He moved the carrier to the floor and took a seat. Y/n showed Dustin how to hold Mallory and told him to pat her back until she burps.
“Just let me get a rag in case she spits up.” Y/n said, walking to the kitchen and grabbing a hand towel. She draped the towel over Dustin’s shoulder and chest and sat back down in her seat. She rested her head in her hand and watched with a fond smile as her brother burped his niece. The adorable moment soon ended when there was a loud click and a flash. Y/n and Dustin looked at the source to see Claudia standing there with the camera pointed at them.
“You three were just so cute.” Claudia gushed. “I couldn’t help myself.”
“Gosh, ma.” Y/n giggled.
Over the next few weeks, Y/n and Eddie had fallen into a routine with Mallory. Eddie would come over at six in the morning and bring Y/n and Mallory over to the trailer, where they would stay until ten at night. Eddie would drop Mallory and Y/n back off at the Henderson residence and leave until the next morning. To say that this living arrangement was annoying for both Y/n and Eddie would be an understatement. Y/n hated that Eddie only got to see Mallory for nearly half a day. She expressed her feelings to Eddie, who wholeheartedly agreed with her, which made her feel better. That’s when Eddie told Y/n about the apartment that Wayne was going to help them out with. Y/n was hesitant at first, since she didn’t want Wayne to “throw away” his money for them. But Wayne insisted. But now comes the hard part… telling Claudia.
“What do you mean an apartment?” Claudia asked, sitting at the dining room table. Claudia had made dinner for everyone and told Y/n that she could invite Eddie, since he was now technically family. That’s when they decided to bring up the apartment.
“I’m not sure how else you want me to explain it, ma.” Y/n laughed uncomfortably.
“How many bedrooms are there?” She asked. Y/n looked at Eddie, gesturing for him to answer.
“Two.” He said, tapping his rings against the table lightly.
“Two?” Claudia repeated, eyes squinting.
“Yep.” Eddie nodded.
“So Mallory would be sharing a room with one of you?” She asked, looking back and forth between Y/n and Eddie, who shifted nervously.
“Actually,” He cleared his throat. “Mal would be getting her own room.”
“Then where would Y/n be?”
“Ma,” Y/n groaned. “Don’t play dumb. Eddie and I would be sharing a room.”
“Y/n,” Claudia sighed in frustration. “You two aren’t married yet. There is no reason to be sharing a bedroom.”
“Yeah, well, he kinda already knocked me up.” Y/n shrugged. “There’s no point in trying to keep things traditional.”
“Y/n!” Claudia gasped. “Don’t use that type of language.”
“Well, you’re kinda pissing me off, ma.” Y/n scoffed, tossing her fork onto her plate.
“Y/n, sweetheart,” Eddie placed a hand on her shoulder. “It’s okay.”
“No, it’s not okay, Eddie.” Y/n shook her head. “I’m so tired of it. I know that I'm practically still a child, but I have one. One that I need to properly care for and I can't do that here!"
“You don’t think I care for you enough?” Claudia asked, sadly, making Y/n sigh.
“That’s not what I meant.” She shook her head. “I just think that the situation we’re in isn’t a proper way to raise a newborn.”
“What situation?” Claudia asked, glancing around at Eddie and Dustin. “You do fine here.”
“Mallory needs Eddie. I need Eddie.” Y/n looked at Eddie and grabbed his awaiting hand. “So, we’re going to be living at the apartment together, ma.” Claudia shook her head and sighed.
“If that’s what you truly think is best for Mallory, then okay.” Claudia set her eating utensils down on her plate and got up from the table. “Excuse me.” She grabbed her plate and walked out of the room, leaving Y/n, Eddie, and Dustin sitting around the table.
“She hates me now.” Y/n gave a watery laugh as she folded her clothes and put them into a suitcase.
“She doesn’t hate you, babe.” Eddie said, holding Mallory in his arms as he fed her a bottle. “She just… doesn’t want to lose you.”
“She’s not losing me, though.” Y/n shook her head in frustration. “It’s not like I’m moving to Venus or something.”
“Well,” Eddie shrugged. “What if it was Mal?” Y/n stopped in her tracks. She tossed her half-folded shirt down on the bed and looked at Eddie.
“Excuse me?”
“If Mal was in our situation,” Eddie explained. “How would you react?” Y/n scoffed and shook her head.
“Mal won’t ever be in our situation, Eddie.” She said, picking her shirt back up. “I’ll make sure of it.” There was a pause of silence, one that made both parents uncomfortable, more so Eddie since Y/n was busy with packing up.
“Do you hate what’s going on?” He asked, quietly. “Do you… regret-”
“I don’t regret anything, Eddie.” Y/n was quick to say. “I just… wish things were easier.”
“Well, Wayne always tells me that whatever bothers you now won’t matter in ten years.” Y/n smiled at that.
“You’re very gentle, Eds.” She smiled softly at him. “I’m grateful for you and Wayne, really.”
“Just us?” Eddie asked, shifting Mallory so that he could burp her.
“I’m grateful for everyone that has helped us.” Y/n elaborated. “Now leave me alone, I’m packing!” She smirked playfully at him, making him roll his eyes with a fond smile on his face.
It took two days for Y/n to get all of her things packed up and moved into the apartment. Y/n thought that the apartment was pretty nice for something that Wayne described as a “starter” home. The kitchen, bathroom, and Eddie and Y/n’s room is pretty small, but they weren't complaining. They at least had a home that they could raise their daughter in for the time being. Y/n and Eddie had given the bigger bedroom to Mallory, since it seemed like she had more things than the two of them, especially furniture wise. The first night in the apartment was a little bit harder than it was at Y/n’s moms, as it seemed that Mallory knew she was in a different place than what she’s used to. But Y/n was grateful that Eddie was there now to wake up and care for their daughter in the night, rather than it just being Y/n caring for her at night.
“Wow,” Eddie sighed, climbing into the bed. “Our first night in our very own apartment.”
“I know.” Y/n smiled, laying her book on her lap. “It’s exciting!”
“Very.” He nodded, scooting closer to her and wrapping an arm around her shoulders. Y/n giggled and smiled, resuming her book. Eddie read each page from over her shoulder for about two minutes before he was brushing away her hair that covered her neck. He placed a few kisses to her neck, making her giggle.
“Eddie, stop,” She laughed. “I’m trying to read.”
“Read later.” He mumbled, still kissing her neck. “Let me love on you.”
“Eddie-” She sighed, tilting her head to the side to give him more access to her neck. He blindly reached over and took the book out of her hand, tossing it on the floor. Y/n leaned back against the wall and allowed Eddie to move over more. He kissed up Y/n’s neck and finally made it to her lips. Y/n sighed in bliss and cradled Eddie’s face in her hands.
“I missed having you like this.” Eddie whispered when he pulled away for a short moment.
“Me too.” Y/n moaned when Eddie’s hand massaged one of her breasts. “God, please, Eddie,”
“Please what, mama?” He groaned in her ear.
“Use your mouth on me, please.” She whined, pushing her chest closer to Eddie, eyes clouded with bliss.
“Yes, ma’am.” Eddie smiled, pulling her shirt off and latching his lips to one of her nipples, his hand playing with the other one. Y/n moaned and whimpered as Eddie sucked on her. Her fingers threaded themselves into Eddie’s hair, holding him closer to her chest.
“Oh god,” Y/n groaned. “That feels so good.” Eddie pulled away from her chest and leaned back to admire her.
“You’re so beautiful, sweetheart.” Eddie gulped, eyes roaming over her topless figure. “You wanna do it tonight?”
“Yeah.” She nodded with a smile. Eddie cheered and quickly took off his shirt, going back in to kiss Y/n, when a cry was heard from the other room. Eddie sighed and rested his forehead on Y/n’s.
“You think Wayne will babysit?” Eddie asked, making Y/n laugh. She shook her head and gently pushed him away from her. She grabbed her shirt and put it back on. Standing from the bed, she held out her hand for Eddie to take.
“C’mon, Munson,” She smirked. “Time to go be parents.”

Tumblr media
The trailer was quiet as Eddie rummaged through the cabinets, kicking himself for not going to the grocery store after his shift at the plant. He cursed and muttered, cabinet doors opened and closed, as if something edible would appear eventually. The fridge had its basics, but nothing looked appealing – at least he didn’t think you’d want anything with eggs. Pregnancy had ruined any form of eggs for you, except boiled and he disdained the smell but never said a damn word; you try telling a pregnancy woman her boiled eggs stunk, he nearly lost his head that day.
“Sonofabitch,” he groaned, opening the same cabinet today as you called out from the bedroom. He decided not to answer because then he’d have to explain that he hadn’t gone to the store liked you asked and that was going to start a whole thing – he was too tired for a whole thing. Annoyed at himself, he rummaged through the cans and like a hail Mary, in the way back there was a single can of Chef’s Boyardee and he clasped his palms together. Eddie Munson was not a religious man but, in that moment, he knew God was on his side. You loved the canned pasta and he quickly yelled that the food would be ready in a minute. He quickly raced around the small kitchen for a can opener, pot, and a spoon; working full speed to get the food on the stove, once he did, he was able to breath for a moment.
“You’re such an idiot,” Eddie muttered to himself, grabbing the pen and pad you always kept on the kitchen counter. He started jotting down foods you liked on the paper, clicking the pen against the counter as the canned pasta heated up. The pen made its way against his lips as he hummed, tapping his foot against the cheap tile floor; he thought to put beer down for his uncle, since he had been so cool about you moving in. The man was actually thrilled that his nephew was going to be a father and that his life was going into a positive direction.
“Babe!”
Shit.
“Coming!”
The pasta boiled and Eddie turned off the stove, grabbing the pot’s handle and taking a bowl from the pile of clean dishes near the sink. He scooped the food into the bowl and licked the spoon, grabbing a napkin off the counter before rushing across the trailer into the bedroom. The room was lit by the natural light coming from the window and he grinned at the sight laid before him; your back was rested against the wall, legs spread out in front of you on the bed and your stomach round and full. Your back had been hurting bad and you finally decided to take maternity leave from your job, and Eddie had made it his job to make sure you were taken care of. When he was at work and couldn’t be home, he paid Dustin to bike over take-out. Sometimes he even got Steve Harrington to make food and video rental deliveries. Although his biggest helper was the fiery redhead two trailers across; Max and you had a sisterly relationship, and she was constantly over, even when Eddie was home. She made you happy, so he absolutely adored the little shit – having friends definitely helped and he was glad for it.
“Alright, Chef Boy-ar-dee for my girls,” Eddie cooed, walking around the bed to your side. “It’s hot, be careful.”
“I will,” you eyed the bowl and your stomached growled; Eddie heard and laughed, placing the bowl on the nightstand next to you. He twirled the spoon in his hand before handing it over and you took it with a laugh, thanking him for the food. “I am starving, always starving.”
Eddie leaned down and kissed you on the forehead, snapping his fingers. “I forgot the water, need anything else?”
Taking the bowl, you took a small bite and felt the warmth of the food ease the hunger pangs and you glanced up at Eddie lovingly; he had been so good and doting the last couple of months, always thinking about the baby and you. He often brought home little clothes and stuff animals, although you had to beg him to stop buying the latter – the crib was now filled to the brim with teddy bears, kitty cats, dogs, and even stuffed cows, you teased that there would be no room for the baby. He stopped bringing them home, but his new things were bibs – “…I can’t help it, there are so tiny!” was his excuse every time and every time it made your heart swell. Eddie Munson was going to be a fantastic father and you were grateful to have him at your side.
“I’m good, Eds,” you said softly.
He smiled and leaned back down again, this time his hands held your face as he kissed you on the lips; so firm and loving, that you almost forgot about being hungry but then your stomached growled and Eddie nearly died from laughter.
“Okay, my girls need more food. I’m going to head out, I’ll have Max come over to sit with you.”
Agreeing, you grabbed his hand as he began to walk away; he turned with a smile. “Yeah?”
“I love you,” you whispered, and he grabbed your hand, giving it a squeeze.
“I love you too.”
