I don't rlly remember what grade they're in but I'm gonna assume they're sophomores. (Y/N) is a junior/senior.

You yawned softly, leaning back in your seat. You could hear the theatre kids doing their musical in the auditorium. You didn't feel like staying home alone but also didn't want to be stuck watching a musical so you borrowed your mom's keys and found her classroom. The perks of having a parent who works at your school. You continued to doodle, brows furrowing when you heard arguing in the halls. It stopped momentarily before the door slammed open, making you flinch and turn towards the door. A short redhead stood in the doorway, tears streaming down her face. She sniffled, blinking and tensing when she noticed you. An awkward moment of silence passed before you spoke.
"Hey." You greeted, sitting up and placing your sketchbook on the table. The redhead also straightened up, giving a nod.
"Sup." She sniffled again, wiping away her tears. You cleared your throat, patting the seat beside you.
"Wanna talk about it?" You asked. The room was dark since you only turned on one light. You couldn't really see her face well. The girl nodded, closing the door and speed walking towards you. She sat beside you, staring forward for a minute. She faced you, taking in a deep breath. You braced yourself.
"All my friends are mad at each other because Ginny decided to fuck Max's brother and didn't tell her. Ginny's dating Hunter and didn't tell him either so he found out that she was cheating on him. I found out before them and kept it a secret cause Maxs girlfriend, or ex girlfriend I guess, broke up with her and she didn't need to deal with that shit as well but Max found out I kept it from her and got mad at me. Ginny got mad at me cause she thought I told Max and I'm mad at Ginny for both telling her and thinking I did it. Norah's innocent in all of this but her mom kind of sucks. My parents are getting a divorce and I've had to deal with them arguing nonstop cause my friends have been too busy to hang out with me. I feel like they don't really like me. One of my friends keeps saying that I'm fat and heavy and it really hurts my feelings but I try not to show it." She rushed out, eyes watering again. She covered her face as she began to sob. "I'm Abby, by the way."
"Wow, okay.." You cleared your throat again, scratching the back of your neck.
"So, uh.. Let's break all that down. Ginny, Norah, and Max are your friends. Ginny got with Hunter but she's sleeping with Marcus, correct?" You asked. Abby nodded, lifting her head. Her face was flushed and her bottom lip quivered. You got her a tissue box and the trash bin, letting her clean herself up.
"So, it seems like Max's anger is justified. Ginny should've told Max the moment it started and she should've mentioned it to her boyfriend."
"It's basic girl code too. You don't sleep with your best friends brother." Abby scoffed, shaking her head as she attempted to fix her mascara.
"Bro code and girl code is kind of bullshit." You mumbled, shrugging lightly. You sighed, not being used to dealing with freshmen and sophomore bullshit. You knew who Max was. She was the lead in the musical and a bit obnoxious but she seemed friendly.
"So, your parents are getting a divorce and you've gotten no support from your friends." You licked your lips, frowning. Abby nodded again, gaze drifting to the floor.
"I'm sorry about that." You reached out, giving her arm a squeeze. Abby sighed softly.
"I.. I saw it coming. It sucks to hear them fight every night. I feel like everyone's gonna judge me and gossip when it comes out." Abby said softly.
"You really think you're the only teen who goes to this school with parents who don't like each other?" You gave her a gentle smile.
"Nobody's gonna give a shit. People get married and divorced all the time."
"But my friends all have amazing parents. Ginny's mom is badass and young, Max's parents are a cute couple, Norah.. Her mom is kind of a Karen but she cares a lot about Norah." Abby frowned, leaning back in her seat.
"Your parents are gonna love you, Abby. They might not love each other anymore but they do love you. It's better to have happy separated parents than parents who stay together and constantly fight." Abby gently rubbed her arms, letting out a heavy sigh.
"And someone who insults you on the regular isn't your friend." You told her, standing and picking you your sketchbook. Abby followed your movements, brows furrowing.
"Wanna get ice cream?" You asked. Abby perked up, nodding and standing. You two walked towards the door, stepping out of the classroom. You locked it, putting the keys in your pocket.
"Can.. Can I sit with you at lunch?" Abby asked nervously.
"Yeah, sure." You gave her a small smile.
