Some possible shots of different areas within Nep's lake
Anteros lives with the lake dwellers, but because he can't be underwater as much as them, he probably stays in the underground bunker

I'm just now starting to think about Nep again (one of the lake dwellers I made a while ago), and y'know something?
Since he's a feral monster, he and Lust could very well end up having like,, 12 kids. Their odds of having more multiple births are a bit higher too, since the feral ones are a bit different in their build than the ones you'd normally see (the ones living in houses and mingling with humans that have jobs and are going to school and whatnot)
Rip Nep. He's gonna end up like the werewolf dad from Hotel Transylvania, without a doubt
Since Gill (his bro that's a Papyrus type) is also a feral monster, he'd probably wind up with a bigger family too. Betta (Nep and Lust's daughter), I'm not so sure about. She was raised in a more "normal", civilized manner, but also,, as soon as she decided she wanted to be living in the lake with her dad and uncle, she turned entirely feral, like she was Nep's little mini me or something

Congrats, You’re a Dad!
Nep learns that he’s a father, and he and Gill get to meet baby Betta
“Neptune?... Neptune, are you there? Please, it’s really important that we talked! Please come out of there!”
The eldest of the lake dweller brothers hesitated, remaining hidden under the dock as he contemplated his decision. Deal with the purple clad whore again today, or lay low and wait for him to leave. Upon hearing a much higher pitched voice call out in what he immediately recognized as the cry of an infant, he jerked in surprise, making a face in confusion. What the actual hell was going on now???
Nep drew in a deep breath, peeking over the side of the dock and watching as Lust made himself comfortable on a small patch of green grass, a tiny, rather fragile looking babybones in his arms and swaddled in what looked like some sort of blanket. The baby in his arms wiggled and cried, and he frowned, gently rocking the child in an attempt to soothe it, and when it seemed the baby couldn’t be soothed, Lust let out a shaky breath, his voice soft, “Hey, hey… Shhh… Don’t cry, baby… It’s ok, it’s ok. Mama’s here, Mama’s got you, Betta, it’s ok.” Nep blinked in surprise; “Mama”? He’d thought it before, but it would forever be a question that spiraled in his mind: what the fuck?
Careful to keep his distance from the pair, the lake dweller hoisted himself up onto the dock, clearing his throat to announce his presence before he spoke, “...So. How’s parenthood treating ya?” Lust was momentarily startled, his sockets widening before he relaxed again and sighed deeply, offering the other an exhausted smile, “Other than the crying and dirty diapers, it’s not that bad.” Nep fell silent, unconsciously beginning to edge closer to the pair. Breaking the silence, Lust glanced between the lake dweller and the infant in his arms, almost appearing nervous, “I uh… We need to talk, Neptune. Please, it’s really, really important.”
The skeleton monster in question made a sound of acknowledgement, “Yeah?... What’s up, shithead? You’ve been away for a while now, and I almost kinda started wonderin’ if ya went and got bored a’ me yet.” Lust shook his head, laughing weakly as the baby in his arms kept crying, despite the gentle rocking, “No, no, not at all… I just thought you might not wanna see me all pregnant and swollen… As it turns out, ‘round’ isn’t really a good look for me.” He shifted the baby, using his now free hand to lightly pat the ground beside himself before he continued, “I did want you to meet this little beauty though… She’s yours, after all.”
Nep stared at Lust for a moment, clearly at a loss. When the words and their meanings began to finally register, he made a face, gesturing to himself, “Wait, wait, wait, hold up. You’re tellin’ me that my ugly mug when and made somethin’ tiny and fragile like that?” He pointed at the baby for emphasis, and Lust nodded, humming in confirmation, “Mhm… This little thing is alive right now because of you. You’re her dad, Neptune… You should see her during bath time, she looks just like you.” Nep physically couldn’t stop himself from scooting closer, on his hands and knees as he leaned forward to begin sniffing the child. Sure enough, he did smell traces of himself on her.
The baby suddenly sneezed and he flinched, jumping back and staring at her with wide sockets, his body rigid. Lust laughed softly, playfully arching a brow bone, “Why so jumpy, Angelfish? It’s just your daughter, Betta.” Nep scrunched up his face, hesitating for a moment as the infant went back to crying, “...Put her in the water. If she’s really mine, she’ll stop with all the fussin’.” Lust seemed unsure for fraction of a second, before he nodded slowly, gently removing the infant from her swaddle. Setting the bundle of cloth aside, he also removed her ridiculously tiny socks and his shoes before rolling his pants up, and as he moved closer to the lake with her in his arms, the lake dweller follower, practically at his side and watching like a hawk.
Nep got into the water again, his solid white sockets locked on baby Betta as Lust leaned down, gently letting her legs dangle in the luke warm pond water. To both of their shock and utter amazement, her crying died down, her legs beginning to kick at the water. She began trying to bounce, cooing and squealing as she looked down at her reflection. The lake dweller eased closer to her again and Lust took a deep breath, watching him closely; Nep didn’t seem to be displaying any sort of aggression, and he showed no signs of attacking, which meant this was going well. Lust tried to shake the image in his head of a visit when he’d found a set of bloodied, shredded children’s clothes on the shore, a set of small shoes discarded nearby.
Visibly curious, Nep leaned closer to sniff at Betta’s face again, and the infant blinked in surprise, cooing as she made a face at him. He tilted his head and she copied him, tilting hers as she screeched and kicked at the water again, sending a small amount rippling in his direction. His soul twisted within his chest and he furrowed his brow bones, hesitantly glancing up at Lust and asking, “...Can I… Can I hold her? Just for a minute, please?” Lust nodded, offering him a reassuring smile, “Of course… Just for the record, you do know how to hold a baby, right?” The lake dweller scoffed, “Excuse you? I’m not dense, y’know. I’ve held plenty of babies before.” Lust bit back a retort and made a soft sound of acknowledgement, “Alrighty then… Just… be careful. Please.”
The lake dweller made a sound back in confirmation, gently taking his daughter from Lust and lifting her up into his arms, and to Lust’s amazement, cradled her against his chest. The infant stared up at him with wide eyes, her violet eye lights settling on his sharpened teeth. She scrunched up her face as if trying to process something, and Nep stared in surprise as her own ordinary teeth grew sharper, mimicking his. Finally reaching acceptance of the situation, he smiled slightly and let out a deep sigh, his voice low, “Well with a face like that, I guess you really are my kid, huh?” One of her tiny hands lightly patted his face and he shifted back into the appearance of a normal Sans, his eye lights flickering and becoming tiny hearts as she copied him again, once again looking like a normal babybones.
One of his clawed hands moved to carefully touch her face and she cooed, smiling brightly up at him and wiggling in his grasp. Before he could process what he was doing, he leaned down, delicately pressing his teeth to her forehead and nuzzling her face affectionately. Watching quietly, Lust’s anxiety faded into relief and he smiled softly, gently placing a hand on his chest. He knew there was a pretty significant risk to this, and with having it go so smoothly, saying he was glad would be a severe understatement.
Everything was silent for a brief moment, before Lust cleared his throat, “Hey, uh… Where’s your brother? Wouldn’t he like to meet Betta too?” Being brought back to the present moment, Nep nodded and hummed, “Yeah, probably. If ya wanna take the kid for a sec, I can go get ‘em.” Lust made a sound of agreement, gently taking back their daughter and holding her close to himself, “Ok, I can do that.” Nep, overcome by a surge of unexpected emotions, suddenly donned an uncharacteristically giddy grin, pressing his teeth to Lust’s and stealing a quick kiss before disappearing back underwater. Lust’s cheekbones immediately became stained purple and his eyes were wide in surprise; well that was new. Unless it was one of their… meetings, Neptune normally didn’t show much interest in kissing.
It wasn’t long before Nep returned, a much taller skeleton emerging from the water close behind himself. Lust and Gill, the younger of the two lake dweller brothers, exchanged friendly hellos, before Lust carefully handed the infant to him, giving him gentle instruction to make sure the taller knew what exactly to do. Gill seated himself on the edge of the dock, the baby flush against his chest as he gazed down at her in a mix of wonder and affection. Leaning down to sniff at her in a manner similar to what Nep had done, the faint scent of his brother on her gave him all the reassurance he needed. He smiled at her, trying to keep his normally boisterous voice down as to not scare her, “Hello There, Betta! You’re So Tiny And Cute, My Goodness Gracious! It’s Hard To Believe My Brother Had Any Part In Making You!”
Nep scoffed at the comment, rolling his eyes and attempting to shrug off the sound of Lust’s soft giggling. Betta squealed and smiled widely up at her uncle, reaching out to gently pat at his face, kicking her legs excitedly. In response, Gill’s long legs began to sway back and forth, swishing at the water as he smiled widely back, offering her praise as he gently touched her tiny hand. Watching the pair with a smile, Lust sighed softly, when it came to Gill, he hadn’t been worried at all whatsoever. Gill was just another Papyrus; being the same as his own brother, Lust was confident in himself when he’d decided that Gill was of no real threat. Not to himself, not to Betta, not to anyone, for that matter.
Well, as long as they weren’t swimming in the lake, at least. Aside from what happened underwater, Gill was harmless.
Some years had passed since meeting Betta; she was now a whole six years old, and much more energetic than her parents had been prepared for. Setting her overnight bag aside, Nep curled up on the bed beside her, opening a book and allowing the child to cuddle up against his side; being so younger, he wasn’t sure he wanted her to spend all of her time in the water yet, so he’d taken the liberties of setting up a nesting area in his underground bunker. A bed had been made, he’d gathered toys from campers that’d brought their families, he’d even stolen clothes from them that he thought might fit his daughter. A box with snacks piled into it sat nearby, beside an old refrigerator he’d repaired and gotten set up. Everything she needed was here; a bed, spare clothes, food, toys, books, all of it.
Betta eagerly prompted him to begin reading her favorite book, and he caved, starting to read with a small smile, “Once upon a time, there were a pair of little bunny brothers. One was born with golden fur, while the other was born with grey and black speckled fur. The little golden bunny loved the sunshine, and he loved to play outside with his friends, the ducks and mice. The grey and black bunny loved the darkness, and he loved reading in the den, by himself. They were as different as night and day, but they loved each other very much. The little golden bunny’s friends didn’t like the darker brother very much though, so they never invited him to play. The golden bunny tried getting him brother to play outside with them, but because he knew he was not wanted there, he always said no.”
The child frowned, furrowing her brow bones and listening quietly as he continued, “The grey and black bunny got lonely after a while. He began to want friends too, but nobody liked him. Because he was born with a darker fur color, they all thought he was bad. The little golden bunny knew this wasn’t true, and he always told them to stop talking about his brother that way. His brother was good, and they just hadn’t seen it yet.” Betta interrupted, her eyes wide and full of worry, “They make friends with the darker bunny, don’t they, Daddy? He won’t be alone forever, will he?” Nep paused, shaking his head and glancing at his daughter, offering her a small, reassuring grin, “No, Sweetheart. He won’t be alone forever in the end… he’s always gonna have his bro, no matter what.”
The child seemed to accept this answer, falling silent and allowing him to continue again. They progressed further throughout the story, “One day, there was a great fire. The little golden bunny’s friends looked everywhere, but they could not find him. The little golden bunny was trapped, fire everywhere around him. Just when things weren’t looking so good, his brother showed up. The little grey and black bunny got him out, ignoring his own pain as a patch of his dark fur was eaten away by the flames. Burnt and scarred now, he dragged his golden bunny brother out into the sunlight, his normally beautiful fur now covered in soot. He stayed beside his brother, getting him away from the fire and to safety, and the other animals saw this. They couldn’t believe he’d risked his life, and they couldn’t believe how wrong about him they’d been.”
Betta tried to muffle a yawn and Nep lightly nuzzled her head, his rough voice soft, “The grey and black bunny was not bad. He was good. Very good. They were sad that they’d all judged him so wrongly, and as he worked to help his brother heal, they offered him their friendship. He’d never had any friends before, and before he knew it, he was crying. He was crying because he was happy. His heart swelled in joy, and he accepted. They became friends with him, and from that day on, the little bunny brothers were both happy. They made many more friends together, and they lived happily ever after.”
As his daughter curled into him, Nep wrapped an arm around her, setting aside the book and sighing softly. She rubbed her eyes tiredly, and Nep murmured, “Goodnight, Betta… Sweet Dreams, kiddo.” Her voice was laced with sleepiness as she replied, “Goodnight, Daddy… I love you…” The lake dweller’s expression softened and he pressed a soft kiss to her head, “I love you too, Sweetheart… I love you so much...”
The next morning, Lust made his way into the underground bunker, able to locate the two with only minimal difficulty. Peering around a corner at the bed they’d fallen asleep on, he paused, a soft breath leaving him as he touched his sternum through his shirt; Nep was curled up on his side and snoring softly, while Betta was cuddled close to him, one of his arms wound loosely around her. She clung to his shirt, her face buried in the fabric as she slept, completely at ease. Sneaking his phone out of his pocket, Lust was quick to snap a few pictures, checking them over again before putting the device away. Satisfied at having gotten some cute pictures of them, he very lightly knocked on the wall a few times, staying silent as Nep’s sockets fluttered open. As the lake dweller’s gaze fell on him, he offered the taller a small smile and waved, and Nep tiredly waved back, too tired to form words yet.
Moving slowly, Lust made his way over to the bed and sat on the edge beside the father of their child. Nep offered no complaints and didn’t budge, not even as he felt Lust’s hand begin to gently caress his skull. Drawing soft purrs from the lake dweller, the underlust skeleton smiled to himself, unable to fight to urge to lay down and cuddle up to him as well. As the shorter of the two pressed against him, Nep sighed, feeling himself starting to doze off again. Hearing the lake dweller begin to snore softly again, Lust rolled his eyes; at this rate, they’d be in bed all day. Not that he could complain though. He closed his eyes, making himself comfortable; it was a good thing today was his day off.

Made this to help me remember the colors of their magic
I know I forgot Pestilence and Lucky ^^" for Pestilence, let's just say his color is sicky/gross looking green. With Lucky,, I'm still not sure yet, tbh. I feel like he'd probably end up with red or orange like most other Papyruses, but I also want it to be something unexpected, too
And then as a bonus: Country Fresh would have the same kinda purple magic that his normal counterpart has, but with tinges of green or lavender mixed in

In Deep Water
Sooo... ye. I did a thing. This is supposed to be a lil recap kinda thing for Nep and Gill's past, since I hadn't posted anything for that yet. Hopefully it turned out alright,, but if it's not quite up to par, I apologize in advance ^^" I'm still really tired, and the fuckin angst in the beginning hit me right in the feels
There's some gore and violence, but for the most part, I don't think it's that bad. Nothing to be hugely concerned about, at least
All of this happens before Betta's born, so she's not in this part sadly enough
Chest heaving as he gasped for breath, the skeleton monster stared at the gruesome scene laid out before him; his favorite human was sprawled out in the snow, their eyes wide, and their face fixed in a clear look of terror. Crimson stained the snow that surrounded them, and from the side of their neck, their upper arm, and shoulder, there were large chunks of their flesh missing. One of their arms was torn clean off their body, and one of their legs had also been mangled and bloodied.
Looking down at himself, his eye lights constricted into the smallest of pin pricks, fear taking hold of his entire being as his gaze locked on the blood that stained almost the entire front of his jacket. His slippers were drenched in the scarlet fluid as well, and he let out a strangled cry, his sockets watering up with blue tinted tears. Beginning to tremble, his eye light shifted their focus to his hands, which were covered in the blood of his friend.
There was something that held a metallic taste in his mouth, and as he began to recall what happened, a wave of nausea washed over him. He doubled over, his nonexistent stomach turning. Hitting a certain point, he nearly doubled over, emptying the contents of his stomach into the snow before him. His entire body ached and he broke into sobs, not bothering to wipe the last bit of vomit from his chin. He covered his face with his hands, his shoulders shaking as he began practically wailing, trying desperately to muffle his voice.
His soul trembled within his chest, and then small cracks began to form along the edges of it as he choked out, "Oh my god, oh no... oh shit, what have I done? What the hell is wrong with me? Why did I did... I didn't mean to, I swear. I... I've doomed us all, haven't I?"
Footsteps could be heard crunching in the snow and approaching him, and his feet remained rooted in place as he was greeted by the familiar voice of his younger brother, "SANS? SANS, ARE YOU ALRIGHT?! OH MY WORD, WHAT HAPPENED TO THE HUMAN?!" Sans' voice was weak, no more than a whimper as he responded, "You gotta get outta here, Pap... It's not safe." Ignoring his brothers words, Papyrus approached him from behind, gently placing a hand on his shoulder. Sans flinched at the unexpected contact, his sockets widening, and as he slowly turned to look up at Papyrus, blood staining his clothes and coating the lower half of his face, the younger of the two looked back at him, clearly in shock.
Blue tears rolled down Sans' cheekbones and he trembled, his voice barely audible, "...I did this, Pap. I'm... I don't know what's wrong with me. You need to leave, I don't wanna hurt you too." The taller brother sighed deeply, momentarily closing his sockets. Opening them again to look at Sans, he chose to completely disregard the blood on his clothes, leaning down to very delicately wrap his arms around his elder brother, tugging him closer to himself and lowering his voice, "I'm Not Going Anywhere, Brother. Not Without You." Sans let out another sob, acting on impulse as he latched onto Papyrus, attempting to hide his face.
Their moment was interrupted as another voice pierced the silence, its tone laced with venom, "You... Of all the things you could've done, you broke the ONE rule I gave you! Just how foolish are you, Sans?!" Sans whimpered, sniffling and reluctantly peeking at the person who'd addressed him. Immediately recognizing them, his sockets widened again and he turned to fully face them, panic written on all of his features, "I never meant for this to happen, I swear! I didn't... I didn't wanna do this. I'm so, so sorry, please forgive me! I'll do anything to make it right!"
Crossing their arms over their chest, the deity narrowed their eyes, scoffing at his words, "You're such a half-witted fool. Spilling human blood was the ONE thing that was prohibited! As long as no human blood was spilled, I gave you and your people COUNTLESS YEARS of peace and prosperity. I protected the lot of you, and you've taken that for granted!" Sans held his hands up and immediately shook his head, "N-No, I haven't! Honest! Please, forgive me! I'm begging you!"
They merely rolled their eyes, "I cannot, Sans. If I were to let it go this once, who's to say you won't do it again, hm? You yourself can't even be certain of that, can you?" Sans pressed a hand over his mouth, trying to muffle his voice as tears continued pouring from his sockets. Papyrus frowned, clearing his throat and gaining the attention of the deity, "Um... Excuse Me... May I Say Something, Your Greatness?"
The deity nodded, silently giving him their permission to speak. The younger of the two skeleton brothers wasn't sure what to say or do, but he spoke anyway, his magic beginning to radiate waves of what felt like some sort of hopeful desperation, "I Know My Brother Has Broken A Rule You Set In Place, That Meant The World To You. I Can Assure You Though, He Didn't Mean To Do This. It's Not Like Him To Do These Sorts Of Things, I Promise. Just Look At Him... He's Crying And Pleading With You For Your Forgiveness. If It's At All Possible, I Humbly Ask That You Look Inside Yourself and Try To Pardon Him. Please. Just This Once."
The divine being arched a single eyebrow, "Are you defending his wrongdoing, Papyrus?" In response, the skeleton in question shook his head, "No No, Absolutely Not. I Agree That It Was Very Wrong Of Him, But Please... Please Forgive Him. Grant Us Your Kindness, And We'll Make Sure This Never Happens Again." Sighing, the god rubbed one of their temples, squeezing their eyes shut. The skeletons remained silent, save for Sans' broken sobs and whimpers, awaiting their God's decision.
When the entity opened their eyes and stared at the two with a look of firm resolution, Papyrus felt all the hope in his soul immediately die, shrinking back the smallest bit at their words, "Then so be it. If you'd defend him, brother or not, that places you on the same level as him. The two of you are to live out the rest of your days as the terrifying beasts that the humans have come to fear. And since Sans seems to love the taste of human flesh enough to go and violate the single rule I've ever given you and the rest of your people, that is the only thing you'll be able to feast on. It will sustain you, but it'll be the only food that will give any sort of satisfaction."
Still sniffling and trying to blink back tears, Sans stared at his bloodied hands, his sockets widening as he watched the tips of his phalanges grow sharper. He opened his mouth, trying to force out a string of words, but froze as his ecto tongue grazed his teeth, feeling how sharp they'd also become. As a second row of serrated teeth began to grow within his mouth, Sans cried out, pain shooting through his face.
His vision went white and he blindly tried to reach for Papyrus, unable to see. Fearing that he'd gone blind, he sobbed, "Pap?... Papyrus, where are you? Why can't I see?!" Papyrus began to respond, his voice dying in his throat as pain shot through his face, his teeth also beginning to change. When his own vision went white, he was frozen, his own sockets widening and beginning to water up as well. Watching them with a cold, blank expression, their god remained silent, appearing unphased.
As the skeletons' vision began to slowly return, they rubbed their eyes and blinked, once again freezing in place as they saw each other; they'd been given claws, sharpened teeth, and their sockets had gone white, without a single trace of an iris or pupil. Visibly frightened, Sans looked to the deity, "Hey, what'd you do to us?... Why are you punishing Papyrus too, huh?! He didn't do anything wrong!"
They tilted their head, still gazing at him blankly, "Well, didn't I just say you were to live out the rest of your days as terrifying beasts? You wouldn't have been terrifying if I left you as you were." Papyrus blinked, trying to process what just happened. Sockets watering up and orange tinted tears dripping down his cheekbones, he pulled his scarf over his face, filled with shame and fear. He resented the way he looked now, just as he resented the pangs of hunger within him that were urging him to devour the corpse that laid nearby.
As the other monsters began to emerge from their homes, Sans' crime revealed to them, his sockets watered up again and he fumbled for an explanation and an apology, and he watched in horror as their confusion and shock began to morph into disgust and anger. They began to shout at him, and as they began to summon their magic to attack, the crowd parted. Making his way through the gathering, the flamesman silently surveyed the scene before him. Sans looked to him, his voice pleading as he apologized more.
The realization sunk in, as to what would happen now, and Sans felt his blood run cold. Grillby's flames became hotter, and he cast a wave of fire at the skeletons, offering no hesitation or remorse. He was just as doomed as everyone else. Sans was quick to shortcut out of the path of Grillby's attack, taking Papyrus with him. Nearly choking as another sob left him, Sans placed himself between Papyrus and the gathering of angry monster, "Don't hurt my bro, please! I'm begging you! He's never done anything to any of you, and he didn't do anything wrong! He's not the one who did this, it was me! I'm the one you should dust! Please... dust me, but leave Papyrus alone. Please, I'm begging you..."
A rock was thrown, rocketing toward the shorter of the two skeletons and striking the side of his skull, causing him to cry out as a small crack formed, and as he tried to regain his bearings, a small figure darted through the crowd. He barely had enough time to process what was happening before a knife was drawn and they slashed at him, his sockets wide as tears dripped down his face. His ribs and sternum cracked and chipped under the blade of the knife, and he felt fresh blood begin to drip down his chin. Was that... was that his blood? No... it couldn't be. There was no way-
The small figure zipped around him and made a beeline for Papyrus, and he cursed. There was no way in hell they were going to hurt his brother. Something within him snapped and he lunged forward, tackling the human child to the ground. Hunger pulsed through him as he caught the scent of blood again, and he growled lowly, baring his teeth. They were flipped onto their back, and as they immediately tried to slash at him again, his eye twitched and his frown became a wide, crooked grin. He roughly grabbed their wrist, and with a sickening crack and their terrified, pained shrieks, their arm was torn from their body, their hand still clutching the handle of their knife.
He chuckled softly, his voice hoarse as he leaned over them and murmured, "Game over, kiddo. I'd say 'm sorry that it had ta go this way, but that'd be a lie. I never did like ya too much, y'know?" There was another shrill scream that he immediately silenced, his jaws clamping down on their rather thin neck. Serrated teeth now embedded in their flesh, he sharply jerked his head, effectively shredding their throat and destroying any verbal capabilities they had left.
He pulled back, looking down at the human beneath him, momentarily horrified at what he'd just done. Tears dripped down his face again and he trembled, hiding his face with his hands. Sans' mind grew hazy, and his sniffles and sobs shifted, gradually transforming into raspy laughter. A magic attack struck him and he yelped, momentarily surprised, before fixing his gaze on the crowd and narrowing his sockets, his twisted smile stretching across his face again as he rose to his feet. Oh, they were gonna pay for that.
As another barrage of magic attacks flew toward him, he merely shortcutted out of their way, trying to ignore pain he felt pulsing through him from his chest each time he moved. Papyrus' voice gained his attention and he looked up, his smile falling as his sockets went wide and he stared. Water flooded from within the surrounding forest, and as the other monsters caught sight of it, they had the same reaction that he and Papyrus did.
Some of them were frozen in fear, and some of them began to run. The water reached the town, crashing full force into the small shops and houses, destroying everything in it's wake, including whatever monsters who were unable to escape. Most of the towns' inhabitants were either killed by the impact, or drowned, save for maybe a lucky remaining few, along with Sans and Papyrus.
Instinctively rushing to Papyrus, Sans grabbed onto him, using his magic to maneuver both of them through the water, trying to find the surface. Just as everything seemed to be over, the earth below them began to shake and split open. A second wave of water hit them without a warning, immediately sweeping both of them into the deep pit that'd just been created, and as Sans pushed Papyrus to a more shallow area, adamant that his younger brother try to save himself, one of the remaining monsters appeared. Gripping onto Sans' jacket, they yelled and cursed at him, roughly shaking him out of anger, and he tolerated this for no more than half a second before he lashed out, turning them to dust.
As if his body was moving against his will, he licked their dust off of his hands, and then was quick to devour their soul, which was all that remained of them. Absentmindedly swaying his feet in the water as he used magic to keep himself in place, he looked around, the reality of the situation finally kicking in. He was horrified and he hated himself for what he did and what he'd become, shaking and erupting into loud, obnoxious laughter. He laughed so hard that tears began to run down his face, and carelessly discarding his jacket and letting it sink, he pressed a hand to his head, his sockets wide and his face fixed into a look of sheer, morbid delight.
Papyrus called out to him and he fell silent, blinking in confusion; his brother cried out for "Sans." He was Sans... right? Sans the skeleton? That was still him? No, no... it couldn't be. Not after everything that just happened. Not now that he'd become some sort of freak.
He shook his head, deciding to abandon his warring thoughts in favor of returning to his brother's side, right where he belonged. In time, the two very gradually began to adjust to their new lifestyle; while Papyrus lurked at the bottom of their lake and continued making his rounds, just as he did when he was trying to become a member of the royal guard, Sans busied himself with... other things.
Namely, tracking and hunting, and making sure the both of them were fed. He became detached and separated from his past self, embracing his life as a human eater with open arms. Papyrus wasn't sure how that was possible; personally, he hated this new life. He hated always being wet, he hated never feeling clean, he hated the huge lack of puzzle making, and most of all, he hated having to devour innocent humans to survive. To him, the humans were supposed to be their friends, not their food.
They stopped keeping track of how much time had passed, the events that brought them to this new life rapidly shifting into nothing more than a distant, fuzzy memory. One that both of them sometimes struggled to remember, at that. The forest was quiet and peaceful, and Sans took great joy in killing off the humans who entered, both for the sake of getting food, and also for maintaining the peaceful atmosphere.
Becoming bored with only hunting humans after a while, Sans took to hunting animals as well. Then, if by some small chance a monster wandered into their forest, he'd cut them down too. Papyrus was horrified, having found his elder brother licking monster dust off his hands and shirt. Eating other monsters was a taboo thing to them, and it had never been discussed before. Papyrus voiced his disagreement with it, trying to get his elder brother to see reason and stop, before he delved too far and indulged in this cannibalistic behavior anymore than he already had.
Sans, being Sans, was stubborn, refusing to stop. Papyrus continued trying to talk him out of it, but gave up after a great while, concluding that there was no point in arguing when Sans refused to listen or take anything into consideration. The two remained just as close as ever despite their obvious differences, and they'd gone on about their lives, just as they'd done before. Everything was normal and fine, and that was the end of it.
That was, until the day a promiscuous skeleton with purple eye lights appeared.

So uhhhh,, I made a kink list
Completely out of boredom
It's on my nsfw blog, and it includes the riders, Necro, Zerif, Mal, 406 (another version of Mal that chose to leave when Necro gave her the choice, only to go running back to Error), Nep, Gill, Betta, Val, and Killer (the version of him that's pretty frequently portrayed in the stuff I've written, not his actual canon self)
Y'know, if you're over 18 and happen to be curious or interested in that sorta thing, by any chance

Please ignore the crease in the corner of my page here
After like,, 80 years of procrastinating, here's a reference sheet of sorts for Gill :P
In case the bullet points/stars are hard to read, they say:
Nep's brother
Also a freaky lake monster boy
Actually a big sweetheart
Doesn't like hurting humans
Would rather die than take off his gloves or boots in front of any human he's trying to befriend (since the boots and gloves hide his claws)
Almost never leaves the lake
Professional cool dude
He practically lives in his battle body
His bones are cracked in a handful of places and can't be healed
Complains about having swimmers ear, despite not actually having ears
"Normal" teeth come in one row, where his true teeth come in two
If you wonder what the height difference he and Nep have between them and the classic UT skelebros, look no further, here it is
Tumblr media Tumblr media
One with their heights included, and one without XP

The Union
I'm borrowing some headcanons from here, in case anyone wonders about that at all :P
Anyways, ye. This takes place after Nep and Lust have been together for a while. With some encouragement from Betta and Gill (and Charm), Nep's ready to move forward with his partner. All he's gotta do is make the offering/pop the question
The lake dweller let out a deep sigh, standing up to slip his shorts on. He was exhausted, especially after everything that had happened last night. Images flickered in his mind of his adorable partner leaning over him, his hands in the bedding on either side of his head. Nep couldn't help but smile softly, his cheekbones turning a faint shade of teal; his mate was so beautiful like that... his face flushed purple, heart shaped eye lights, and those oh-so-perfect ivory bones. He was gorgeous. Even in his sleep, Nep had thought he was gorgeous. Nothing would be able to change that, either.
A pair of smaller arms wrapped around him from behind, fingertips gently tracing along his sternum, and he arched a single brow bone as he heard Lust yawn. Laying his head on Nep's back, Lust's voice was still laced with sleepiness as he murmured, "Morning, Angel Fish... Did you sleep ok?" Smiling to himself again, Nep hummed in confirmation, "Mmhm... Sure did, Shortcake. I don't think I've slept that good for a while, actually. What about you?" The shorter of the two smiled tiredly, "I'm glad you slept so good. I think I slept pretty good too last night." Nep delicately took one of Lust's hands and raised it to his face, murmuring, "Good... I'm glad to hear it."
Pressing a soft kiss to the back of the other's hand, he let his teeth linger for a moment before turning to face his still half asleep partner. Tilting his head and sighing, he continued to smile, gently cupping Lust's face and leaning down to steal a quick kiss. As he pulled away, Lust whined, making a face, "Nuh uh, mister. If you're gonna kiss me, it's gotta be longer than that." Raising a single brow bone again and snorting in amusement, Nep mumbled a half hearted apology, his hand still on Lust's face as he leaned down again, gently kissing him.
As expected, Lust was happy to return the kiss, his cheekbones dusting a pretty shade of violet as he pressed closer to Nep. Feeling the tip of Lust's tongue trace over his teeth, Nep pulled away from the kiss, his grin widening as he took a playful tone, "Babe... What was that?" The smaller of the two shrugged, clearly still tired yet, "What do you mean?" The lake dweller hummed, "I felt your tongue on my teeth. Just what are you tryna do, short stuff?"
Lust cuddled up to Nep, content as the taller wrapped his arms around him, "Maybe I wanted to make out with you a little." Nep laughed softly, his cheekbones turning a light shade of teal, "Lust, Sweetheart... Baby doll. You literally just woke up. If you wanna make out, we can do that later. 'Sides, we have some stuff to do today anyway." Lust let out a tired, exaggerated sigh, "Fiiiiiine. What are we doing today though? You didn't tell me we had plans." The taller skeleton made a soft sound of acknowledgement, "Yeeeeah, I know I didn't. It's a surprise though, I didn't wanna ruin it for ya."
Lust smiled tiredly, "Awe... Well look at you, being Mr. Romantic." Nep playfully scoffed, his tone clearly teasing, "Me, romantic? Pffft. In case you've forgotten, I'm still a human eater. A cold, soulless being like me has no idea what romance even is." Arching a brow bone, Lust hummed, an amused look on his face, "Uh huh, sure. For someone who's apparently cold and soulless, you sure do love it when I scratch the underside of your jaw. I had you purring last night when I did that, remember? And you were so cute, too."
Nep felt a rush of heat to his face and he flicked his tongue at his partner, only causing the shorter of the two to laugh softly. Lightly nudging Lust back toward the bed, the lake dweller made a face, "Yeah yeah, sure, whatever. How about you get dressed now so we can start the day?" Lust took a step backward, shamelessly stretching his arms above his head, "What? I thought you liked seeing me naked like this." Nep groaned, trying not to let his gaze wander over the other's body, "God, yes, I do. Ya damn well know it, Sweetheart. You gotta put some clothes on, or I have a feelin' we'll be down here for a while yet. You don't want my bro comin' down here and seeing you like this, do ya?"
Immediately noticing Nep attempting not to let his eyes wander, Lust smiled and hummed softly, "No, I suppose not. That'd be pretty awkward, in all honesty." The lake dweller made a sound of agreement, "My point exactly." Lust began to gather his clothes, shooting a final glance at his partner before beginning to get dressed. It wasn't long before both skeletons were ready to head out, making their way to the bunker's exit. As if he was trying to show off, Nep was quick to open the ridiculously heavy looking door by himself, holding it in place as Lust slipped past him. Once Lust was out of the way, he released the door and pushed it shut, re-implementing some of his magic to act as a lock.
They found their way back to the lake where Nep usually stayed, and after a short pause and some discussion, they agreed on returning to Lust's home to have their breakfast. Which, from Nep's perspective, was perfect. Crossing into Underlust and trudging through the snow toward the smaller skeleton's house, Nep stole a glance down at their hands, gently clasped with their fingers intertwined as they walked. His cheekbones became a faint shade of teal and he glanced at Lust's face, unable to keep himself from smiling sheepishly; now, all he could do was hope and pray that everything went according to plan.
As they stepped up onto Lust's doorstep, Nep slipped his hand out of his mate's grasp, instead opting to loop his arm around his waist, tugging him flush against his side. Lust let out a soft sound, clearly a bit surprised, and the taller monster offered a soft apology, pressing a kiss to the top of his skull. Of course, he was forgiven. All Lust asked for was a kiss before they went inside.
They shared a quick kiss before slipping into the warm, well lit home, which smelled of fresh bread. In response to the smell, Nep heard his stomach grumble, and his cheekbones dusted teal again as Lust cast a glance up at him and chuckled, having heard the sound. On the couch, Betta was curled up with a pillow, lightly leaning against Gill. Surprised to see the younger brother of his mate present, Lust cleared his throat, politely greeting the monster in question as they emerged into the living room.
Gill happily returned the greeting, and had it not been for Betta murmuring something to him, he appeared as though he would've leapt off the sofa to capture his elder brother and Lust in a bear hug. Nep excused himself, heading off to the kitchen where he knew Charm could be found.
Stepping past the kitchen threshold, Nep cleared his throat, "Hey buddy, we finally made it." Looking up from the pot of chili that sat on the stovetop before him, Charm offered the lake dweller a polite smile, "HELLO, NEPTUNE. IT'S GOOD TO SEE YOU AGAIN." Nep smiled sheepishly, glancing around the kitchen, "Yeah, you too. So... how's this gonna work out? Are we eating and then doin' the thing after, or?..." The UnderLust skeleton shrugged his shoulders, amusement flickering in his sockets, "WE CAN DO WHATEVER WORKS BEST FOR YOU. I KNOW THAT TO YOU AND YOUR BROTHER, THE OFFERING OF FOOD HOLDS A DIFFERENT MEANING THAN IT DOES TO MY BROTHER AND MYSELF. I... WOULDN'T WANT TO IMPOSE ON YOU OR SPOIL ANYTHING, SO IT'S YOUR CALL."
Nep let out a deep sigh, his cheekbones gaining a soft teal blush again as he smiled slightly, "Thanks, Charm... The consideration means a lot. Seriously. It's just... I don't think I've ever been this nervous in my life before, and I dunno what I should do." The taller of the two checked his pot of chili a final time before switching off the stove, sighing as he approached the lake dweller and placed a hand on his shoulder, "I UNDERSTAND, MY FRIEND. IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO TO HELP CALM YOUR NERVES?"
Nep was silent for a moment in thought before shaking his head, his voice softer than before, "I dunno... I guess I... What if he won't accept it? What if he says no?" Charm offered the shorter monster a gentle smile, lowering his voice, "Don't Worry So Much About That, Neptune. I'm Sure He'll Accept It. He's My Brother, And Seeing As I Know Him So Well, I Know How Much He Loves You. It's Clear Every Time You're Together, And He's Always Talking About You Whenever He's Chatting With One Of His Gossip Friends."
His blush darkened slightly further upon hearing Charm's words, and he nodded sheepishly, momentarily closing his sockets. Opening them again and releasing a deep sigh, he looked up at this AUs Papyrus, smiling nervously, "Thanks, buddy... That means a lot. I uh... Did you leave the container where I left it yesterday?" The skeleton in question eagerly nodded, smiling brightly, "OF COURSE I DID! I TAKE IT WE'RE DOING THAT FIRST, THEN EATING AFTER?"
Humming in confirmation, the lake dweller slipped past him and knelt on laminated floor, opening a cupboard, "Yep. Hopefully I don't chicken out or anything now." As he began to dig through the cupboard, Charm playfully scoffed and waved off his words, "YOU, CHICKENING OUT? I HIGHLY DOUBT YOU'D DO SUCH A THING." Nep laughed softly, tugging out a plastic container after a moment, "Yeah, yeah... That's a dumb thought, isn't it?"
Charm made a sound of agreement, taking a step back as Nep stood, nudging the cupboard door shut with his foot and setting the container on the counter. Opening it just enough to slip his hand in and withdraw the slightly dried and hardened piece of bread used to keep his offering fresh overnight, he looked everything over, and then tossed the bread in the nearby trashcan. He was still for a moment, before opening the container and completely removing the lid, setting it on the counter and revealing a batch of cookies. Lifting the container, he held it close to himself, his still flushed face becoming a slightly brighter shade of teal as he smiled sheepishly at Charm, "Oh boy, here we go... Wish me luck, pal." Charm offered him a reassuring smile accompanied by two thumbs up, and Nep began to slowly head for the open doorway, letting out a deep, almost shaky sigh.
Exiting the kitchen, he made a beeline for the living room, momentarily pausing in the doorway upon seeing that his mate was nowhere in sight. Meeting his gaze, Betta tilted her head and smiled, wordlessly nodding toward the stairs. Easily understanding what she was telling him, he offered her a grateful smile in return, changing his course and now proceeding to make his way to the staircase.
He ascended them in silence, wandering down the hall until he was just outside Lust's bedroom. Shifting the container of cookies with one hand and hiding them behind his back, he drew in a deep breath, releasing it as an equally deep exhale, before raising his free hand to lightly knock on the closed door. Only a few seconds passed in silence before he could hear Lust calling out from the other side of the door, "Yeah?"
Nep began to fidget, unable to stand still, "Hey Shortcake, it's me... Can I come in?" Lust's voice gained a light, cheerful tone as he replied, "Mmhm, you can come in if you want. You don't even have to knock, you dork." Nep smiled slightly and chuckled, grasping and twisting the doorknob before gently nudging open the door.
Slipping inside and nudging it shut behind himself, he tightened his grip on the container that remained hidden behind his back, his blush immediately darkening as he was greeted by the sight of his mate. Lust stood beside his bed, now wearing a clean pair of skinny jeans and a baggy tank top, some of his bones appearing slightly damp while droplets of water dripped from others. Ah, so he must've had a quick shower.
Looking up as Nep slowly approached him, a smile settled on Lust's face and he playfully arched a single brow bone, his tone teasing, "What are you hiding behind your back, mister? Is it part of the surprise you brought up this morning?" The taller of the two nodded sheepishly, his cheekbones still stained a deep shade of teal as he smiled slightly, "Well... Yeah, you could say that."
With a brow bone still arched, Lust hummed softly, "May I see what it is?... I'm assuming that's why you brought it in here, at least." Nep fidgeted again, his blush visibly darkening as he slipped the container of cookies out from behind himself, holding it out and offering it to Lust. The shorter monster blinked in surprise, his cheekbones gaining a soft violet blush. He was quiet for a moment before speaking again, "Did you make these, Neptune?... By yourself?"
The lake dweller nodded, sheepishly glancing away and mumbling, "Uh huh... I did." Lust fell silent again, and Nep began to worry, his gaze almost pleading as he watched his mate. Recalling what he'd been told by Betta and Gill, Lust felt heat rush to his face, his soft blush darkening before Nep's eyes. Understanding what was happening, Lust smiled shyly, reaching out to accept the offering, taking a cookie from the container.
Watching as Lust took a bite of the cookie, Nep's sockets widened in shock, teal tears threatening to drip down his cheekbones. Setting the container on Lust's bed, he wrapped his arms around his partner, holding him close and letting out a shaky sigh of relief as a smile began to slowly stretch across his face.
Though still just as embarrassed and shy as before, Lust finished the bit of cookie in his mouth and then lifted what was left of it, offering it to Nep. Despite the purr that began to rumble somewhere within his chest, he opened his mouth, being careful not to accidentally graze Lust's fingers as he took a bite of the cookie. They continued to share the goodie, until it was gone and Lust retrieved another, happily sharing it with the lake dweller just as they'd done before. Nep hummed softly, mindful of the containers location as he backed his mate up against the edge of his bed. He allowed Lust to finish what was left of his cookie, before proceeding to gently push him down onto his back on the bed, leaning over him and kissing him deeply. Happily returning the kiss, Lust smiled into it, a purple tear rolling down his face as he parted his teeth, allowing Nep to slip his ecto tongue into his mouth. Their tongues met and danced to some unheard rhythm, twisting and curling together, never losing contact.
As the lake dweller slowly pulled away, he began to purr just as loudly as before, gently nuzzling Lust's cheekbone and pressing a soft kiss to his temple, murmuring to him, "God... You make me really happy, y'know that? So, so fuckin' happy." Lust laughed softly, delicately cupping Nep's face, "And You make me happy too, Neptune. Really." Nep leaned into his touch, briefly closing his sockets and simply breathing in his mate's scent. Lust's eye lights flickered, becoming small hearts as he gazed up at his partner in adoration, his soul swelling with joy.
A moment passed before Nep sighed, pulling away from Lust and standing up. Lust sat up, his face stained with his purple blush still as he continued smiling, letting out a soft squeak in surprise as he was scooped up into Nep's arms, instinctively wrapping his arms around his taller partner's neck vertebrae. Grinning to himself as he carried his mate toward the door, Nep's face gained more teal blush, a single tear rolling down his cheek. Reaching up to gently wipe away the tear, Lust smiled softly as Nep turned his head, gently kissing his hand.
Now all that was left to do was to share the good news. The news that very soon, they would be married. Nep could hardly believe it; when he was cursed and turned into what he was now, the deity had told him he'd be horrifying, and essentially unlovable. Maybe he was still horrifying sometimes, but if there was one thing he wasn't, it would be unlovable.

Who’s Nep
He's a skeleton character that I made ^^
He was a normal Sans at one point, but his AU went through something similar to what happened in HorrorTale. He made a mistake though, resulting in a deity getting mad and putting a curse on both him and his Papyrus (who I call Gill)
Now they're the only remaining monsters from their AU, and they live at the bottom of a lake and are forced to eat humans (though Nep actually partakes in cannibalism too, consuming the dust of dead monsters)

So uhhhh
I did this last night, for no real reason. It's supposed to be Betta, but I dunno what her eyes do when she's attacking yet ^^"
If they go solid white like Nep's, if they stay similar to Lust's (minus the heart shaped eye lights), or if they're somehow a combination of both

Ok
I'm just really curious now, and while I don't expect to get much of a response to this (which is fine, I totally get it), I was wondering; of all the characters I've made that I've talked about here, do you have any headcanons for them or ship them with any other character(s) in particular? Can be mine or a character that belongs to someone else
Again, I'm just curious. It's ok if there's not much input here :P
