Ketheric Thorm is one of my all-time favorite villains in any piece of media. I just can't hate him. I've loved so hard, and had death take those loved ones from me, and I know the feeling of being willing to do anything to bring her back.
There's a Fall Out Boy quote I really love that I think sums up Ketheric's character so well,
"For you, I'd burn this city down just to show you the lights"
He is utterly devoted, not to his gods, but to his daughter. Selune didn't protect them, Shar couldn't make him forget them, but Myrkul promised Isobel back. And to Ketheric, that was enough. Damn his morals, damn the lives of everyone else in this plane and the next. For his daughter, any price is worth it.
And for an evil man, I can't think of a more noble cause.

I wish I could whisk him away and get him grief consoling so he didn't have to turn to a god to cope and entrap his daughter's gf for power and immortality

Possibly unpopular opinion but bg3 could have ended after the apostle of myrkul fight and I would have been just as happy if not happier

Ketheric was like a little puppet for the Gods and that still haunts me.
Imagine feeling abandoned by your Goddess after your wife and daughter die. So you turn to her sister since she represents loss only for that Goddess to feed off your grief till you’re a shallow husk of your former self and committing heinous atrocities in her name. Only for the grief to completely consume you to madness & lead you to your downfall. Only to be discarded again when the purpose was served. Shits fucked. And then yoink, here comes Myrkul, choosing Ketheric with a promise of bringing his daughter back. Ketheric choices were his own ofc but it still weighs on me how the Gods pawned off him like that.
And now he can’t even see his wife in death. That’s devastating to me.

Durgetash for sure but an Orin or Ketheric ending would actually make sense too with the recent teasing

i love how indifferent ketheric is when durge reappears at moonrise
it really goes to show just how convenient it was for him to finally not have to third wheel whatever annoyingly morbid homoerotic relation durge and gortash shared
so to come face-to-face with him again and ketheric just go “oh, you” before disappearing till the end of act 2 makes lots of sense

I have fought great wars before, in the service of other gods, and other powers. But for Myrkul, I would condemn all of Faerun to death | B&W Series

BG3 relationship chart but it's Oops All Antagonists.
(The githyanki is the crèche commander, who knocked Astarion into an abyss during a battle in act 1. My durge Nod took this extremely personally in an "unprecedented rage" sort of way.)
