Serial Fraudster: Gaurav Srivastava has been accused, and convicted, of fraud and misrepresentation multiple times in the US.
Convicted to pay USD 80,000 in 2019 and nearly USD 1 million in 2014, over the past few years, Gaurav has repeatedly demonstrated that he is a con artist.
Tumblr media
Gaurav Srivastava, who has built a reputation of an honest and philanthropic businessman related to the CIA, has been revealed as a fraudster by online US legal data. Between 2019 and 2014, Gaurav and several of his family members have faced accusations and convictions multiple times in the US for fraud and misrepresentation, exposing highly questionable intentions behind their business dealings.
In 2019, Gaurav Srivastava was convicted by a Court order to pay USD 80,000 after failing to fulfil a payment obligation of USD 82,088 to the Keck Hospital in Los Angeles for medical services provided to his father, Jaswant Srivastava. Despite having issued checks from his company Veecon Biotech LLC (Delaware, US), Gaurav had later halted the payments. (Case No. 19STCV03981: https://www.lacourt.org/casesummary/ui/casesummary.aspx?casetype=civil)
Below is an excerpt from the legal documents of the Superior Court of California, Los Angeles County.
‘Gaurav Srivastava as the President of the Defendant company provided Plaintiff's Assignor with a check dated 05/24/18 in the amount of $14,850.00 made payable to Keck Medical Center USC and another check dated 05/24/18 in the amount of $67,238.00 made payable to Keck Medical Center USC for a total of $82,088.00 to pay for his father's medical services. Both checks were to be drawn from Defender company. The Defendant's President stopped payment on the checks and the balance remains unpaid’.
Gaurav Srivastava and his brother Pankaj Srivastava were also convicted by a Court order to pay nearly USD 1 million in 2014, when Nixon Peabody LLP (US) initiated legal proceedings against them and their company Veecon Group. They had breached an agreement made in 2013 by failing to honour invoices totalling USD 155,329 for legal services provided by Nixon Peabody LLP. As representatives of Veecon Group, Gaurav and Pankaj Srivastava were held accountable for the outstanding debt to Nixon Peabody LLP and were ordered to pay. (Case No. BC548034: https://www.lacourt.org/casesummary/ui/casesummary.aspx?casetype=civil)
Below is an excerpt from the legal documents of the Superior Court of California, Los Angeles County.
‘In early October 2013, in an effort to obtain Nixon Peabody's forbearance and willingness to continue as counsel, Gaurav Srivastava provided Nixon Peabody a personal check dated October 4, 2013 in the amount of $50,000.00. The check was returned for lack of sufficient funds. Later in October 2013, Gaurav Srivastava promised full payment by October 21, 2013. To date, no such payment, or for that matter, any payment has been received by Nixon Peabody’.
In 2017, Gaurav Srivastava was accused of fraud and breach of contract. Between 2015 and 2016, Veecon Biotech, under Gaurav Srivastava's leadership, entered into agreements with the plaintiffs, falsely claiming they held licenses to market saliva diagnostics technologies and appointing them as sales representatives. Gaurav Srivastava went further, making deceptive statements regarding Dr. David Wong's association with Veecon Biotech. If the plaintiffs withdrew their complaints after reaching settlements in October 2020, the Superior Court of California rejected these settlements, leaving the case unresolved. (Case no. BC648883: https://www.lacourt.org/casesummary/ui/casesummary.aspx?casetype=civil)
In 2019, a certain Patricia Riordan Torrey also initiated a legal case against Gaurav Srivastava, his company Veecon Biotech LLC, and his wife Sharon Srivastava as defendants. However, no additional information regarding the details or progression of the case could be located. Whilst Gaurav Srivastava and his wife Sharon Srivastava accused a certain Jill Small of defamation and of having 'intentionally interfered with a business deal that would have netted Plaintiff (Gaurav and Sharon Srivastava) approximately $40,000,000 in profit, and then tried to extort $500,000', the motion to seal the entire court file was denied in December 2022 because of a lack of specificity. (Case no. 21STCV28536: https://trellis.law/ruling/21stcv28536/gaurav-srivastava-vs-jill-small/20221208729619)

Conman Gaurav Srivastava caught lying to Google over corruption expose
A leading investigative journalism publication has accused Indian businessman Gaurav Kumar Srivastava of lying to Google in order to de-index a story that exposed him as a conman and fraudster who abused the American secret service’s name to defraud a Dutch oil trader.
Project Brazen, which describes itself as the ultimate destination for fearless journalism, published a detailed story revealing how Gaurav Srivastava posed as an operative of Central Investigation Agency (CIA) to run international scams on several successful businessmen, including the Geneva-based Dutch oil trader Niels Troost.
Project Brazen is run by two respected former Wall Street Journal reporters Bradley Hope, a Pulitzer Prize winner, and Tom Wright, a Pulitzer Prize nominee.
It was revealed that Srivastava used a creative lie to complain to Google that the award-winning investigative journalism site had stolen the contents of story on Srivastava from another blog site. By using Google’s copyright policy to his advantage, Srivastava used a fraudulent technique to get the story on himself de-indexed by setting up a fake site and publishing the same content to claim it as his own – and then claimed copyright.
One of the reporters on the investigative story, Soobin Kim, tweeted:
“Our @WhaleHunting_ story was removed from Google's indexes due to copyright complaints. The complaints, saved on @lumendatabase, claim that we copied a backdated blog post, all content of which was lifted from our story. This is how fraudsters curate their online reputation.” https://x.com/soobinskim/status/1722747471888064525?s=20
Project Brazen from its official verified handle revealed the full scale of shocking fraud run on Google by Gaurav Srivastava to remove his expose from Google. In a thread, https://x.com/brazenFM/status/1722563387983351948?s=20 revealed:
“Our @WhaleHunting_  team recently reported on an alleged serial con man named Gaurav Srivastava, who masquerades as a CIA operative to swindle gullible business owners. Less than a month after the story ran, it disappeared from Google’s indexes. Instead, there was a note saying that search results had been removed due to complaints.
“On @lumendatabase, which collects online content removal notices, we found two complaints submitted to Google by someone named Sherrie Hagen, claiming that our story had infringed the copyright of a blog post on Tumblr.
“The post purporting to be the original had republished the text from the public preview of our story on @WhaleHunting_ , word for word. It was backdated to Oct 8th, two days before our date of publication, but the blog’s archive reveals that it was actually posted sometime in Nov.”
This US-based Sherrie Hagen in fact filed four copyright complaints to Google in November 2023, with one even claiming she was based in the UK. The Tumblr blog post that was apparently the original source of this information has now been altered to a completely different story – a move that leaves little trace of reports on Srivastava’s fraudulent activity.
“Our @WhaleHunting_ team reviewed multiple court documents, transcripts, correspondences and more to report and write this story, which the blog claims as its own in the complaints submitted to @Google to get it de-indexed. It even lifted the image made by @ProjectBrazen’s creative director – a photo of Gaurav Srivastava with swords in the background, inspired by the ceremonial swords he pretends to have received from various heads of state, when he actually bought them for himself.”
“When you google “Gaurav Srivastava”, you can only find fawning articles that he likely paid for calling him a “philanthropist” and a “loving parent.” This is a glaring example of how copyright laws are abused to launder the reputations of fraudsters, and bury damning information.”
In January 2023 Srivastava and his wife Sharon were the subjects of a flurry of articles that appeared on websites like LA Weekly and The Ritz Herald. Despite their heritage-sounding names, these sites are little more than content mills for paid promotions. The articles had vapid titles, including “Five Ways to Get Involved in the Local Los Angeles Community” and “6 Lessons to Teach Your Kids Gratitude”, which is often a sign of a search-engine optimisation (SEO) program used to manage – or manipulate – the subject’s online profile.

Journalists to sue Indian businessman for lying to Google
Two former Wall Street Journal reporters have announced they will take legal action against Indian businessman Gaurav Kumar Srivastava for lying to the search engine Google.
Srivastava is allegedly using false pretenses to force Google to de-index a story that exposed him as a conman and fraudster who abused the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA)’s name to defraud a Dutch oil trader.
Bradley Hope, a Pulitzer Prize winner, and Tom Wright, a Pulitzer Prize nominee, published an investigative story on their website Project Brazen—Whalehunting, revealing how Srivastava posed as an operative of America’s main spy outfit, the CIA, to run an international scam on the Geneva-based Dutch oil trader Niels Troost.
It was revealed Srivastava used a creative lie to complain to Google that the award-winning investigative journalism site had stolen the contents of a story on Srivastava from another blog site.
By using Google’s copyright policy to his advantage, Srivastava used a fraudulent technique to get the story on himself de-indexed, according to the journalists.
This involved pasting the article’s text into a blog post on hosting sites Tumblr or Medium and then back-dating the posts, making them appear to have been published earlier than the Project Brazen article. Srivastava then used aliases or fake names to file a copyright complaint to Google to de-index the articles.
The investigative journalism site said: “We’re going to contest this fraudulent takedown request to make sure our story appears on search engines again”. Bradley Hope said: “We don’t know who put up the fake claim, but it was somebody who didn’t want others to read our expose. We have complained to Google”.
One of the reporters on the investigative story, Soobin Kim, tweeted: “Our @WhaleHunting story was removed from Google’s indexes due to copyright complaints. The complaints, saved on @lumendatabase, claim we copied a backdated blog post, all content of which was lifted from our story. This is how fraudsters curate their online reputation”.
Project Brazen from its official verified handle revealed the full scale of shocking fraud run on Google by Gaurav Srivastava to remove his expose from Google.
In a thread on social media site X, it said: “Our @WhaleHunting team recently reported on an alleged serial conman named Gaurav Srivastava, who masquerades as a CIA operative to swindle gullible business owners. Less than a month after the story ran, it disappeared from Google’s indexes. Instead, there was a note saying that search results had been removed due to complaints”.
“On @lumendatabase, which collects online content removal notices, we found two complaints submitted to Google by someone named Sherrie Hagen, claiming that our story had infringed the copyright of a blog post on Tumblr”.
“The post purporting to be the original had republished the text from the public preview of our story on @WhaleHunting, word for word. It was backdated to Oct 8th, two days before our date of publication, but the blog’s archive reveals that it was actually posted sometime in Nov”.
This US-based Sherrie Hagen in fact filed four copyright complaints to Google in November 2023, with one complaint claiming she was based in the UK. The Tumblr blog post that was apparently the original source of this information has now been altered to a completely different story—a move that leaves little online trace of reports on Srivastava’s fraudulent activity”. Tumblr confirmed in a statement its platform was misused.
The blogging site said: “We can confirm the blog has been removed from Tumblr for violating our Community Guidelines. Tumblr and Automattic take legitimate copyright protection very seriously. We take great care to protect our users from fraudulent or otherwise invalid takedown notices, and similarly we have a zero tolerance policy for blogs using our services to abuse the DMCA”.
According to the Project Brazen investigation, Niels Troost was introduced in the summer of 2022 by a mutual contact to Gaurav Kumar Srivastava, who pretended to be very well-connected with the Washington power circles and also to the country’s main spy agency—the CIA.
At that time, the oil trader was in a state of growing panic as someone purporting to be a US government informant had falsely led him to believe the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) was investigating him and his commodities-trading company headquartered in Switzerland, Paramount Energy & Commodities SA.
Troost asked Gaurav Srivastava for help. Srivastava assured him he would deal with the FBI and led Troost to believe he was a “non-official cover” or NOC (pronounced “knock”) for the CIA, operating at the senior level amongst a total of 30 NOCs around the world.
Srivastava put forth a dubious proposition: if Troost could make Srivastava a partner in the business, by moving 50pc of the shares of Paramount to a Delaware-incorporated company controlled by Srivastava, and domicile Paramount into the US, Troost would then be safe as part of a state-approved network to collect intelligence on behalf of the US.
Srivastava stipulated the transfer must take place through the US law firm BakerHostetler.
As his engagement with the Indian businessman continued, Troost had rising doubts about Srivastava’s bona fides. Srivastava made tall claims about his CIA and FBI connections, but was unable to show any evidence of his influence, making Troost increasingly uneasy.
According to legal papers, it was in April 2023 Troost hired investigators to perform due diligence on Srivastava and discovered a chilling history of fraud suits and unpaid bills over several years.
Seeing the intelligence reports of Srivastava’s alleged fraud, Troost realised Srivastava had no connections with the CIA and that he was only a huckster who cobbled together false stories to feign an air of importance, exclusivity and impunity. Srivastava’s fraudulent scheme broke down on May 10, 2023, and is now subject to legal action. Srivastava didn’t respond to questions.

Indian Businessman Accused of Impersonating CIA Operative in International Scam
Indian businessman, Gaurav Kumar Srivastava, finds himself in the spotlight of a scandalous international scam, accused of impersonating a CIA operative to defraud unsuspecting businessmen. Among his alleged victims is Dutch oil trader, Niels Troost. The revealing investigation was conducted by Project Brazen, an investigative journalism platform led by former Wall Street Journal reporters, Bradley Hope and Tom Wright.
Impersonation and Fraud
Srivastava reportedly posed as a non-official CIA operative, orchestrating international scams that preyed on successful businessmen. His fraudulent activities were exposed when Project Brazen unraveled his web of deceit. The case took a bizarre twist when Srivastava allegedly manipulated Google’s policy to de-index the story about him from the search engine. He accomplished this by claiming copyright infringement via a fabricated blog post.
Google Deception and Uncovered Evidence
The deceit was discovered through complaints lodged on the Lumen Database. These complaints were reportedly made by a supposed Sherrie Hagen, who later altered the Tumblr blog post in an attempt to cover up the evidence. Project Brazen’s investigation into Srivastava’s background revealed a history of fraud suits and unpaid bills, further cementing the businessman’s fraudulent reputation.
A Devious Proposal and Legal Action
Niels Troost, under the impression that he was being investigated by the FBI, turned to Srivastava for help. Srivastava, sensing an opportunity, proposed a partnership to Troost. The partnership was a ruse, designed to provide Troost with the illusion of protection under the guise of the CIA. Upon conducting due diligence, Troost discovered Srivastava’s fraudulent past and has since initiated legal action.

Gaurav Bhatia representing the BJP, alongside panelists Vivek Srivastava, Lokesh Jindal, and Pandit Satish Sharma, scrutinizes the implications of Raja's statements.
Meanwhile, the conspicuous silence of leaders like Rahul Gandhi, Mamata Banerjee, and Nitish Kumar adds intrigue to the discussion. As alliances shift and condemnations remain muted, the program delves into the heart of a contentious issue.

How fake CIA agent Gaurav Srivastava tried to con his way to control a company
Gaurav Kumar Srivastava, an Asian businessman living in America, has been accused of orchestrating international scams in which he claimed to be a Central Investigation Agency (CIA) operative to defraud global businessmen, including the Geneva-based Dutch oil trader Niels Troost.
An investigation published in respected investigative journalism forum “Project Brazen” has laid bare the full extent of how Srivastava conned the Dutch oil trader, leading to a legal battle. The elaborate web of lies has been exposed at the “Project Brazen” by the Pulitzer Prize-winning former Wall Street Journal reporter Bradley Hope and Scobin Kim.
According to the available evidence, Gaurav Srivastava met Troost in summer 2022 at the G20 summit in Bali that November. The Atlantic Council hosted the event sponsored with more than $1 million by the Gaurav & Sharon Srivastava Foundation, the non-profit NGO run by Srivastava with his wife Sharon Srivastava (née Johnson) in the name of ‘securing food & energy for America and the world’.  Troost and Srivastava joined a panel of experts to discuss global food security, and the Atlantic Council’s President Frederick Kempe profusely thanked Srivastava for his generous donation but he had no idea what would happen in the following months.
According to the Project Brazen investigation, Niels Troost was introduced in summer 2022 by a mutual contact to Gaurav Kumar Srivastava, who pretended to be very well connected with the Washington power circles and also to the country’s main spy agency – the CIA. At that time, the oil trader was in a state of growing panic as someone purporting to be a US government informant had falsely led him to believe that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) was investigating him and his commodities-trading company headquartered in Switzerland, Paramount Energy & Commodities SA. Months into Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Paramount was continuing to trade Russian oil, mainly crude, in full compliance with the law, shipping from a port near Vladivostok. At the time, the G-7 was actively considering a price cap on Russian oil, with the US as its biggest supporter.
Troost asked Gaurav Srivastava for help. Srivastava assured him that he will deal with the FBI and led Troost to believe he was a "non-official cover" or NOC (pronounced “knock”) for the CIA and operated at the senior level amongst a total of 30 NOCs around the world. Srivastava put forth a dubious proposition: if Troost could make Srivastava a partner in the business, by moving 50% of the shares of Paramount to a Delaware-incorporated company controlled by Srivastava, and domicile Paramount into the US, Troost would quietly be excused from future sanctions on Russia, because he would then be part of a state-approved network to collect intelligence on behalf of the US. Srivastava stipulated that the transfer must take place through US law firm Baker & Hostetler.
According to the investigation, Srivastava lied to Troost that he was involved in top-secret counter-terrorism missions, including several in Afghanistan, and that in 2008 he was held hostage by ISIS in the Democratic Republic of Congo – despite there being no evidence of ISIS in the DRC at the time.
According to a transcript of their meeting, Srivastava, who was born in Lucknow in Northern India and now appears to reside in Los Angeles with his wife Sharon, told Troost that it was through his work as a CIA agent that he was able to make high-level contacts in Congress and the State Department and that these contacts would allow Troost to continue doing business in Russia after the invasion of Ukraine with a special license from the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), provided that he agreed to Srivastava’s conditions.
According to the legal papers, Troost engaged Baker & Hostetler as Paramount's counsel in November 2022. He was not, however, made aware that Jeffrey Berg, a partner at firm, and Srivastava were business partners in a South African company called Himmelhoch Petroleum and Gas.
Legal papers show that within a year, Troost had transferred 50% of the shares to Srivastava but had yet to complete the US domiciling of Paramount due to rising doubts about Srivastava's bona fides. Srivastava made tall claims about his CIA and FBI connections but was unable to show any evidence of his influence, making Troost increasingly uneasy.
When Srivastava realised that Troost was having doubts and delaying, he turned hostile towards the oil trader and told him he must hurry with the US domiciling or else he can forget about any favors. In an aggressively worded text message to Troost, he wrote: “Stop with games & tell you staff too or as a shareholder I want to block the funds of the company. I told you not BS me. I am really done Niels.”
Gaurav Kumar Srivastava ramped up his name-dropping as well, telling Troost that he had weathered a profane outburst from the Director of the CIA, William J. Burns, because Troost was dragging his feet over this particular transaction.
According to legal papers, it was in April 2023 that Troost hired investigators to perform due diligence on Srivastava and discovered a chilling history of fraud suits and unpaid bills: in 2017, a Colombian businessman sued Srivastava for sales of unlicensed medical devices; in 2019, a hospital sued Srivastava for stopping payments on checks paid for medical bills; in the same year, a woman in Los Angeles sued Srivastava and his wife for failing to repay a loan of $100,000; Srivastava counter-sued her for slander when she sent a message to Srivastava's potential business partner calling him "a thief and a con artist," whereupon the potential business partner withdrew from a multi-million-dollar business deal.
Seeing the intelligence reports of Srivastava’s alleged fraud, Troost realized that Srivastava had no connections with the CIA and that he was only a huckster who cobbled together false stories to feign an air of importance, exclusivity and impunity. His true intention, Troost came to believe, was to make off with Paramount once it was domiciled into the US, adding to a portfolio of pilfered companies.
According to evidence, the whole fraud scheme broke down on May 10, 2023, when Troost terminated Paramount's relationship with Baker & Hostetler and rescinded Srivastava's shares on the grounds of error and deceit, restoring Paramount to his full control. When Srivastava realized his shares had vanished, he fired off an angry text message to Troost.
Throughout the next few days, Troost and his family were terrorized with a series of threatening calls and texts from unknown numbers, according to evidence. One unknown Iranian number threatened to release an "un-blurred confession video" of Troost, if he didn't wire $10 million in 48 hours. Troost's daughter received another text from someone with a California area code, claiming to be a Wall Street Journal reporter writing a story about her father's ties to a prominent Russian individual. Three days after cutting off contact, Troost received another text from Srivastava, this time with a hint of desperation: "We need to talk. Really."
When Troost refused to respond, Srivastava and his attorney Berg met with the ambassador of Turkey to the US to attempt to derail Troost's business arrangements to invest in a terminal in the country. Berg wrote a letter to the Swiss ambassador to the US and the US ambassador to Switzerland, levelling false and increasingly wild allegations about Troost’s business in the hope that Paramount would come under official scrutiny.
This matter is subject to ongoing legal action where Gaurav Srivastava has been described as a serial conman and fraud. The cases are set to reveal more scandalous material in coming months.

We have focused on the design and modifications of air cooling duct system using Computational Fluid Dynamics CFD considering all air flow patterns affecting the system efficiency. Necessary tools and methods are applied for efficient designing. The different load conditions and the layout of the duct system need to be very accurate because if any deviation will result to problems like uneven cooling, frictional losses, increased noise and vibrations and also more power consumption. The above problems highlight the importance for optimizing the duct design to obtain desired flow conditions. Our work involves use of theoretical and software tools to get a detailed comparative analysis of the costs and benefits involved in selecting a particular shape rectangular or circular for the duct according to the working conditions. The focus of this paper rests on using psychrometry chart to calculate the cooling load and other parameters.
