everything about baywatch is so wild to me that i have to convey it in the form of a timeline
1989: baywatch premieres as a television movie, panic at malibu pier.  the unedited version of the film contains random topless ladies who contribute nothing to the plot, but exist to make video store rentals lucrative
also 1989: baywatch season one premieres on nbc.  each episode contains several montages of beach stock footage and slow motion lifeguard running set to music to pad the runtime.  one of the lead actors is named billy warlock, the coolest name that will ever be
1990: after one season, nbc cancels baywatch.  screenwriter lee goldberg would later say of the show, “baywatch should never have been a series. lifeguards dive into the water and rescue people. so what? one producer said, 'you know, i can come up with stories for the home shopping network, and i can't come up with stories for this show.”
1992: david hasselhoff believes in baywatch so much that he has the series picked up for syndication.  season two premieres with a significantly smaller budget, and as such product placement is rampant and all shots filmed must be used, regardless of visible errors.  the show now has the iconic theme song “i’ll be ready”
also 1992: the baywatch/gilligan’s island crossover episode “now sit right back and you’ll hear a tale” premieres.  gilligan and mary ann are the only gilligan’s island characters to appear in the crossover
1993: season three of baywatch premieres, now with pamela anderson as a cast member.  her character cj was first introduced playing an alto saxophone at the side of a river where mitch buchannon was searching for gold buried by his deceased prospector uncle
also 1993: baywatch teamed up with sega to release “lifeguard potential,” a water safety psa for uk children hosted by chris evans, but not the chris evans of marvel fame
1994: david hasselhoff performs a pay per view concert in atlantic city meant to help his singing career with united states audiences.  during the concert, hasselhoff goes backstage to find donald trump watching the oj simpson car chase, broadcasting live, on television.  as a result of approximately 90 million people watching the car chase, the concert was a 1.5 million dollar loss
1995: baywatch nights premieres.  originally envisioned by david hasselhoff as a detective show completely separate from baywatch, the show ended up as a baywatch spinoff with mitch buchannon and garner ellerbee starting up a detective agency along with angie harmon of later Law & Order fame.  the show was called nights because the detective agency was located above a club called nights, yet advertising for the show stated mitch was a “lifeguard by day and detective by night,” despite the majority of season one taking place in the day
also 1995: baywatch the movie: forbidden paradise is released on video
1996: the baywatch episode “baywatch angels” airs.  in this episode, the lifeguards are being targeted with trip wire bombs and are saved by charlie’s angels.  except instead of actually getting the charlie’s angels actresses, it’s three female baywatch cast members dressed up as the charlie’s angels
1997: baywatch nights season two premieres.  the show is now about mitch as a paranormal investigator, x-files style, and is widely panned as ridiculous.  which, in fairness, it is, but original baywatch had ghost possessions and alien abductions so it’s not like this is without precedent.  despite season one of baywatch nights having a psychic character, she inexplicably never appears in any of the paranormal episodes
also 1997: baywatch nights is cancelled
1998: baywatch: white thunder at glacier bay premieres direct to video
also 1998: david hasselhoff stars as nick fury in the television movie nick fury: agent of shield.  other roles in the film are played by minor baywatch and baywatch nights actors, such as lisa rinna as contessa val allegra de fontaine, sandra hess as andrea von strucker, and neil roberts as alexander pierce.  the movie was intended to lead into a nick fury television series.  it did not succeed.
1999: baywatch moves filming to hawaii due to rising production costs in los angeles.  the show is now branded as baywatch: hawaii.
2001: baywatch is cancelled again, this time for good.  so far.
also 2001: star trek: enterprise premieres.  due to declining viewership of preceding star trek franchises, enterprise seeks a new viewing demographic: baywatch fans.  they do this by having scenes in nearly every episode where the cast strips down to their underwear and rubs ‘decontamination gel’ on each other after visiting alien planets.  this does not succeed in drawing any new viewers in, as internet porn is readily available by this point
2003: the made for television movie baywatch: hawaiian wedding premieres
2017: baywatch, starring dwayne johnson and zac efron, premieres in theaters.  dwayne johnson is playing mitch buchannon and at one point has a scene with david hasselhoff, who is also playing mitch buchannon, because why not
there’s just no detailing all the ridiculousness and twists and turns of this history of baywatch.  it was the most watched show of all time and the longest running show to never be nominated for an emmy.  to this day, hasselhoff insists that baywatch wasn’t about sex.  i’ve tried my best here but i’d need to include every single episode to really demonstrate how absurd it all was.  everyone go watch baywatching.

Video shows driverless SUV stuck in reverse on Detroit’s west side DETROIT – Jimmy Ellerbee was on Eight Mile Road heading to his company, Nationwide Landscaping. The light had just turned green and Ellerbee started to accelerate. He then spotted a woman chasing an SUV going in reverse on the road. “She came close to getting hit by her own car,” Ellerbee said. “I was like ‘What’s going on?’ Because at first it’s kind of sunny so you can’t see in the truck, so it looked like someone was in the truck and she was kind of chasing after the truck.” Before he started recording, Ellerbee was almost hit. READ: Vehicle crash blocks southbound lanes on I-75 at 9 Mile Road in Oakland County “I kind of dodged it and everything but by the time I finally stopped, and I tried to put my hazard lights on to signal other people to stop because other people were just flying on Eight Mile, the car was starting to swerve around in the circle on eight mile,” he said. Ad As the woman tried desperately to get back in her truck, other drivers almost slammed into her. “A couple of cars kept going, trying to to swerve past because at first it looked like a chaotic scene. Looked like somebody was fighting somebody for the car or it didn’t look like what was going on. I can tell she was concerned about everybody else making sure no one else got hurt. She was trying her best,” Ellerbee said. He said when he saw other people stop to help, he started recording. READ: 19-year-old charged in crash that killed 107-year-old woman in Allen Park “One guy in a company truck stopped and tried to put a brick down to stop the truck and then another guy tried to use something smaller then went back to his car and got the jack and bust the window out with jack,” he said. “He was the hero, whoever he is, because he hopped in, he smashed that window and then he hopped in. It got that to stop get the truck to stop.” Ad Ellerbee’s Facebook post has garnered more than 160,000 views. “Now that I know that she’s okay and everybody’s okay, it’s comical,” he said. “It was like wow, on Eight Mile. Fortunately, no one got hurt so that’s good.” Ellerbee thinks the woman may have been trying to park at a nearby business when she accidentally put the car in reverse and it somehow took off.
The Get Down, bộ phim nghệ thuật ăn khách The Greatest Showman (2017).
[caption id="attachment_1413" align="alignnone" width="3365"] Yahya Abdul Mateen II[/caption]
[caption id="attachment_1416" align="alignnone" width="800"] Yahya Abdul trong The Get Down[/caption]
Năm 2017, Abdul-Mateen xuất hiện trong bộ phim truyền hình The Vanishing of Sidney Hall của Shawn Christensen.
[caption id="attachment_1414" align="alignnone" width="1280"] Abdul cùng Zendaya trong The Greatest Showman 2017[/caption]
[caption id="attachment_1419" align="alignnone" width="1662"] Yahya Abdul[/caption]
[caption id="attachment_1417" align="alignnone" width="800"] Bộ phim US - 2019[/caption]

“Baywatch” (2017)
Action/Comedy
Running Time: 116 minutes
Written by: Mark Swift & Damian Shannon
Directed by: Seth Gordon
Featuring:  Dwayne Johnson, Zac Efron, Priyanka Chopra, Alexandra Daddario, Kelly Rohrbach, Jon Bass and Ilfenesh Hadera
Mitch Buchannon: “Welcome to Baywatch. Our team is the elite of the elite. We’re the heart and soul of this very beach. We protect when other people don’t want to protect, and we go above and beyond.”
The assault on the idea concept of comedy in movies continues with the release of the remake or reboot or whatever you want call this comedy abomination that is “Baywatch” (2017) out this week on DVD & Blu-ray.
Now I wouldn’t have said this movie was doomed from its announcement, especially with the early word that Dwayne Johnson was involved, someone who is not afraid to laugh at himself as well as carry a movie that needs some very big shoulders to support it. Its unfortunate then that the studio that released this, Paramount, decided to stick Johnson with a director as well as screenwriters that seem to have no clue to what they are working on. They also seem to have no idea on how to use their secret weapon, who is normally a charmer as well as someone who can deliver almost any kind of dialogue all while inviting the audience to come with him on some kind of journey – here however none of that works, so we have what must be one of the worst movies of the year so far, along with many other comedies that have missed the mark by a mile.
The movie starts out in Emerald Bay, Florida, Lt. Mitch Buchannon and his team of lifeguards, including second-in-commmand Stephanie Holden and veteran C. J. Parker, protect the beaches and the bay as part of an elite division known as Baywatch. Having made over 500 rescues in his career, Mitch is beloved by the community, to the annoyance of local beat cop Garner Ellerbee and Mitch’s superior, Captain Thorpe.
At the upcoming tryouts for new lifeguards, three people stand out: surfer Summer Quinn, an old friend of Holden’s, Ronnie, a chubby nerd with a crush on C. J. (that is gradually returned), and Matt Brody, a former Olympic swimmer who fell from grace after vomiting during a race and now has to perform community service as part of an unspecified plea deal. Quinn and Ronnie both pass the trials, but Brody refuses to do so and insists that his celebrity status alone entitles him to a place on the team. Despite Brody demonstrating his abilities by assisting in the rescue of a drowning woman and her son, Mitch complains to Thorpe that he is unfit. Thorpe, in turn, insists that rehabilitating his image is necessary to convince the city not to further cut Baywatch’s funding.
From here the plot if you could call it that becomes needlessly complicated as well as extremely crass, as it stands for no really good reason.
I have complained about the lack of good comedies that have been released this year, and “Baywatch” has to top the list of not only being humourless, but it even manages to mishandle the action elements that may have saved this from being extremely tiresome to watch – I watched this at home and found myself hoping for the end to come, it meandered from one tireless set up to the next without seeming to go anywhere at all. My feeling was that no-one really committed to a genre so each aspect of this movie is underwhelming.
Normally any movie, especially one that relies on personality or has to because the plot is absent, that has at its center Dwayne Johnson, is already ahead because he is just so charismatic as well as being able to make fun of himself means that he can be on the audiences side as well as being in on the joke. One need only look at the “Fast and Furious” franchise to see he is one of the only actors actually hamming it up, making those dreadful movies bearable for those of us that like the over the top nature that is inherent within those movies. “Baywatch” the movie, has not earned that so we are just looking at Johnson as part of this film not apart from it. The supporting cast is made up of both experienced as well as newish actors that all come off as one note and not appealing at all. So we have Alexandra Daddario, Zac Efron and Priyanka Chopra struggling with a plot as well as trope filled exposition while appearing alongside newbies Kelly Rohrbach, Jon Bass and Ilfenesh Hadera really not coming to terms with the kind of movie they are in as well as having very little actual screen presence.
The argument could be made that there was a similar situation with the original television show with some experienced actors as well as some very average novice actors. My argument against that, as well as illustrating the superiority of the television version is that it was a different time, 1989 to 1999, the show knew exactly what it was and the talent in front of the camera was vastly superior to the people we have now. Here is some of the talent involved in the series and its an easy argument with time on our side that these actors have at least more talent as well as huge screen presence than that of this poorly attempted translation, we have of course David Hasselhoff, Parker Stevenson, Billy Warlock, David Chavert, Alexandra Paul, Erika Eleniak, Pamela Stevenson and many many others. If there was a small percentage of their presence in this movie it would have been a far better watch.
Its not only in front of the camera where mistakes have been made, the writers (which is a generous title), Damian Shannon and Mark Swift, have only had two somewhat other successes, if they could be called that, which were the middling horror re-imagining (I am being kind) “Friday the 13th” (2009) and “Freddy vs. Jason” (2003). Both of these movies are genre pieces and are just updating other people’s work, which may have been the appeal here, but sadly there is nothing they have added to “Baywatch” to even make it remotely interesting. So it is here where the director should make some decisions to enhance what is a lackluster script, but this is where the inexperience of Seth Gordon shows. Sure he had a hit with “Horrible Bosses” (2011) but misfired with “Identity Thief” (2013) then in between has directed a lot of comedy televison which means he was trying to learn how to direct narrative on the fly, which again shows here in this movie, where he was probably stuck between his script his producers as well as his actors – I am not envious because what we have been left with is a mess of a film both narratively as well as plot wise with an inconsistent tone as well as a R-rating slapped on to make it seem edgy – which it is not.
The filmmakers needed to pick a tone and style then follow through on that, I can see why they chose some kind of action/comedy route, which worked well with the redo and big screen adaptation of the hit “Starsky and Hutch” (2009) but there you had writers, a director and most importantly stars who could handle the material and knew not only what they were doing but also what they were doing. This is yet another misfire from the studio Paramount who have not been able to buy a hit this year and the slate for the rest of the year looks dire as well.
This is definitely not worth a purchase and to be honest even if you could watch this free it is unlikely you would enjoy it; in fact if you watched it on a plane you would not be forgiven for walking out.
“Baywatch” is out on DVD & blu-ray now.

Why Lisa Has Replaced Brooke
I've said it before--and more than once. It was my dear, warm, sweet, loving cousin Emily who told me that as I got older, my outlooks and my tastes and my values would change. She's since been proven right time and time and time again--and the latest way in which her words have come to fruition is in my choice of all-time second-favorite fantasy girlfriend. I can say in all honesty, can say wholeheartedly that the television host/actor Lisa Canning has fully replaced the former Melrose Place hot chick Brooke Langton as being my all-time second-favorite make-believe lover.         You of course know perfectly well by now what my criterion is as far as imaginary sex partners is concerned. Thus I'll let you in on the specific circumstances regarding Lisa that, in my mind, have caused her to overtake Brooke in said area.             .The former has less Serious Credentials than the latter. Not only does Lisa have a much lesser body of work than Brooke--the latter's filmography lists 48 credits, while the former's is composed of 33 credits--not only is Lisa's television-over-theatrical-films listing much longer--Brooke, according to her filmography, has done almost 20 pictures, while Lisa's filmography has her having done only five (she appeared as herself in An Alan Smithee Film: Burn Hollywood Burn, but come on, fess up; can that actually be considered any kind of major cinematic appearance?)--but concerning TV series, Brooke was not only a Melrose Place she-babe but prior to that portrayed a member of a team of high-mountain rescuers in this ABC series Extreme, which starred the 1970s television medical Young Turk James Brolin, and after her Melrose stay enacted the Sandra Bullock character in a USA Network versionclassic theatrical film The Net (which, interestingly enough, was produced by two of the fellows who were crucial in the making of the picture, namely its director, Irwin Winkler, and its co-producer, Rob Cowan). Lisa, on the other hand, is not even primarily known as an actor. Au contraire, she's best known as--indeed, beloved for being--the on-air correspondent and host, respectively, for such non-narrative TV shows as Entertainment Tonight and the PAX Network's Destination Stardom. And, unlike Brooke, Lisa did time on two, count 'em, two daytime soaps--namely The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful. Thus, as is not true of Brooke, the consistent and absolute absence of Seriousness regarding Lisa's career is, to me, a leonine turn-on, making her, for me, more approachable and relatable than Brooke.           .Lisa has, and has always had, much less of an aura of Seriousness than Brooke. The latter, as was mentioned, has done nearly 20 big-screeners and has been regularly featured in threeing) prime-time television series. Concerning Lisa, my strongest memory of her is her guesting on this episode of Baywatch wherein she portrayed the girlfriend of this actor who was the lookalike to Garner Ellerbee (Gregory Alan-Williams). At first she naturally mistook Garner for her actor boyfriend, which naturally caused Garner to play along with the Lisa character's mistake, to the point where they shared a happy and passionate lip-lock. And near the conclusion of said Baywatch episode Lisa's character happily wound up with Garner. A key appeal of Lisa's Baywatch appearance, for me, is that not once, not once did her portrayal have even a hint of genuine seriousness. All throughout, all throughout Lisa's character was entirely, entirely constructed of essentially lighthearted emotions--to the degree that her character continually, continually called both her boyfriend and Garner "Baby." It is this "acting assignment," along with the other ones she has taken on--her daytime-soap performing, her appearance as herself in Alan Smithee, et al--that clearly show that while Lisa can be a kick to watch on both the small and the large screen, the blunt reality is--and surely she herself would freely concede this--that a Viola Davis or an Angela Bassett she's not and never, ever will be--which to me makes her that much more of a turn-on, greatly adding to what is, for me, her considerable approchability and relatability. It also hugely helps that, once again, unlike Brooke, Lisa in her free time loves to do yoga, a fact about her that invites me to become even more aroused concerning her, causing me to regularly imagine her in scrumptiously tight and scrumptiously revealing exercise clothes and being scrumptiously barefoot.           Here's where I'll let you in on my two leading sexual fantasies regarding Lisa, the two visions I have of us together that are for me the most intense and all-around greatest turn-ons.           .Lisa and I standing face-to-face, with just a very brief space separating us. I'm in my by-now-standard sexual-Walter Mittyism outfit--bare-chested, adorned in a slightly-worn pair of bluejeans that are unbuttoned, in my bare feet. Lisa, for her part, is dressed in a very tight light orange blouse wherein the top two buttons are undone, tan stretch pants that stop just a little below the knee, and is also in her bare feet. At the moment she's gazing at me intensely lustfully and she's standing with her fists upon both of her sides.                                                                        ME                                                       (in a mock-demanding tone)                                                       Take off your goddamn bra.                                                                  LISA                                                     (in a mock-defiant tone)                                                         I'm not wearing a goddamn                                                     bra.                                                                            ME                                                     (still mock-demandingly)                                                     Then take off your fuckin'                                                     blouse.         At this, gazing at me lustfully all the while, Lisa slowly, sultrily unbuttons her blouse, slips it off, and drops it to one side. Around 10 seconds pass, then I drop to my knees and suck and fondle Lisa's now-fully-exposed breasts, with Lisa, both hands around my head, positively exulting in my attention.             .I'm up against a wall, dressed the way in the earlier fantasy, with Lisa, dressed the way she was in the earlier fantasy, pressed up against me, with her bare feet planted firmly upon my own bare feet. At the moment she's gaily and passionately kissing me, with me being the passive and oh-so-willing recipient of her attention.                                                                         ME                                                        (MY tone fully conveying                                                  MY intense sexual                                                            satisfaction)                                                      Oh, Lisa, I love you! I do,                                                  do love you!                                                                         LISA                                                         (continuing to kiss ME                                                         gaily and passionately)                                                       Why, Baby? Tell me why?                                                                         ME                                                           (MY tone still conveying                                                           MY sexual passion)                                                           Because you're always so                                                       bubbly and always so much                                                     fun and always so                                                 vivacious.                                                                         LISA                                                       (continuing HER joyous                                                 and fervent kissing, in a                                                         joyous tone)                                                             I'm just a very entertaining                                                           girl.               Lisa then moves downward, kissing and sucking my chest, still happily and passionately. Then, as in the first make-believe scene, Lisa slowly, sexily unbuttons her blouse, peels it off, and drops it to one side. Then she unzips my bluejeans, sultrily pulls them down to around my ankles, then drops to her knees and, still gaily and fervently, sucks me, with me still the happy recipient of her passion.                                                                    ME                                                        (in a clearly sexually                                                          satisfied tone)                                                            Oh, Lisa, why you always                                                        suckin' me?                                                                          LISA                                                          (HER tone still joyous and                                                        passionate)                                                        Because you taste so                                                good, Baby. You're better                                                than ice cream on a                                                        Saturday afternoon.           In the volcanic-hit Fifty Shades of Grey parody Fifty Shades of Black, when Claire (Jane Seymour), the white adoptive mother of Black's leading male character, Christian Black (Marlon Wayans), visits her adoptive son and sees Black's girlfriend Hannah Steele (Kali Hawk), she stuns-guns her, causing Black to run over to Hannah, help her get back on her feet, and tell his adoptive Mom: "How many times do I have to tell you? Black lives matter." It is Lisa Canning's black life that, in the sexual sense--however one-sided--certainly, definitely matters to me.
