“Grandmother is visiting,” Damian suddenly said with no warning and with his usual not-quite demanding tone.
“Who?” Tim wasn’t the only one to startle, seeing as Bruce had practically froze, a downturn to his lips in a silent show of confusion.
Damian scowled. “Are you deaf Drake? Grandmother is coming to Gotham to, quote, make sure I am being properly cared for.” None of them had known that Ras was with anyone actually. At least Tim was pretty sure that would have been in the files.
“Oh?” Dick didn’t quite crouch to Damian’s height but it was a near thing. “She-” “He,” Damian corrected, interrupting him. They all exchanged a glance before Dick continued.
“Is he coming to the Manor or…”
Damian scoffed again, a tiny bit of a flush against his face. “No, Grandmother will most likely be staying with Akhi-”
Looking at this scene and thinking: yeah Dean and Cas were good platonic buddies is pretty insane. Because this isn't a friend grieving his friend. This is a husband grieving his spouse...
great news, pigeon has discovered that sometimes when i hold a bag and it makes noise it's treats
bad news, she got a brain the size of a walnut and does not understand the difference between a tasty little salmon filled morsel and a spoonful of fucken turmeric, but she doesn't care, she fucken WANTS it
Remember when Billie Piper poured her entire heart out in delivering the "I love you" line with a massive emphasis on the "lo" like she's saying something that doesn't need to be said because everyone already knows. I don't think I've heard a reiteration that has her type of enunciation. The way she's delivering the vowels like she's saying something that's heavier and more meaningful than all the stars in the galaxy. Like she's saying something forbidden. Like she's saying something she knows she can only say now, right now, right this minute. Otherwise, she would never get the chance again. Like something that's destroying her from the inside and bringing it out in the open would be the final blow. Like saying it would kill her, but not saying it would have the same effect. It's been bottled up for so long. So long. That it's clawing out of her throat and drawing blood along the way. Like the words themselves making their way through and resounding in the wind are weakening her muscles and crumbling her already vulnerable and fragile heart.
And do you also remember how we, as the audience, never hear the Doctor say those words back? Not once. Even though it's obvious in every interaction, in every look they share, in every minute they spend together. It doesn't need saying... so powerful is their love that it physically can't be put into words. We don't hear it because the word "love" is too weak to do their story justice. The word we never hear from him... But what we do get to hear from her has the power to shatter entire universes.
Some behind the scenes tidbits I feel normal about (classic who edition):
- apparently every story Matthew Waterhouse's hairstylist would say they were going to trim his hair and never did, resulting in all the variations from crusader triangle to fuck ass bob to shaggy mullet
-Peter Davison was unaware he was many people's sexual awakening in his dressing gown in black orchid
-Colin baker was mistaken for a runner by another actor in arc of infinity and asked to go fetch a coffee (which he did)
-he would also walk around making chicken noises on the set of arc of infinity (until he was told to stop)
-Matthew didn't know adric died in part four of earthshock until he read Peter's script whilst shooting, and was apparently more upset over the fact he was being killed off rather than just leaving
-a lot of the doctor who movie was filmed in the same building as the X-files
-Janet Fielding was told she was good casting for doctor who because she "looked slightly alien"
-Deborah Watling and Frazer Hines used to joke that she left the show because she got pregnant, as she left almost nine months after arriving
-Sylvester Mccoy once couldn't find a filming location until after the doctor who fans, who had been waiting there for an hour
-Paul Mcgann thought all the doctors companions were their kids
-Peter and Sarah Sutton had to stop Janet from accidentally prostituting herself in the red light district
-Sylvester once played the spoons on a guy that tried to menace him
-Paul had to wear a wig because he was casted with the long hair you see in the movie but cut it all off for another role a couple months before they started filming
-Janet called Matthew "matte-finish" and "boom-boom waterhouse" whilst filming earthshock
-the cast bought a prop gun for arc of infinity from a sex shop in amsterdam
(Just to stress I obviously don't know the validity of these I just sourced them from interviews and commentaries!! Please don't come for me if these aren't accurate! These are just some funny things I've heard and if anyone else knows any random facts or stories feel free to reblog/share!!)
The Average Alfred Pennyworth Portrayal: *is Bruce Wayne's capable and somewhat cryptic butler*
Gotham!Alfred Pennyworth: *threatens an 11 years old boy to eat his dinner proper because if he doesn't he'll be too light in weight by the morning and the Balloonman will come for him and will tie him to a balloon and send him to the skies to die because he's rich and corrupt and forever guilty*
Once again on my Ras & Danny being training rivals thanks to time travel bullshit.
Look, Danny knows about the league of Assassins, but he almost dies of laughter when he realizes it’s the modern name of the league of Shadows. He’s an adult now, has been for a while, he’s allowed to find the situation he’s found himself in amusing. Hell, his sparring buddy who is somehow still alive is laughing too.
And no one else knows what’s going on, okay? This random man walked into their secret base, completely ignored the many assassins trying to stop him, and called their illustrious leader a “Little Bitch Man” and they are now fighting?
The fighting is familiar, but why the fuck is Ras cackling and saying things like “Ayreh Feek” back. Practically saying “Fuck you,” while laughing and oh Pit, they’re Bantering this is terrifying, why has Ras not won yet, why has this man not died yet and- bodies aren’t supposed to bend like that what the fuck-
Ras on the other hand, has One friend, who is immortal like him, actually remembers the shit he complains about, is also down for saving endangered animals, and actually knows how to spar! It’s not a proper spar unless someone loses at least a hand that has to be reattached! And honestly, people nowadays should know that the proper greeting to an old friend is to instantly try to kill the other.
ok everybody saying dan fucks is conrad’s dad you do you but for ME personally the fix will always be conrad’s dad because dan gives cool uncle vibes 1000000% percent more than the fix ever will. but we will both live our truth and we will both be happy 🤝
house finding wilson ""interesting"" amongst a literal crowd of thousands is one thing but then to be proven right later when wilson flips his lid at a bar. theyre literally fanfiction but real but not
The Green family dynamics are so interesting because like, Viserys is the father but due to his decay he seems more like the grandfather, whereas Otto is the Grandsire but seems to fill out the role of a father more, not only to his daughter but also her children, so he and his daughter are a mother/father unit but in some situations Alicent is treated like a sibling to her children (by Otto) and then you have the obvious Helaena/Aegon happening (siblings who are also husband/wife and mother/father to their children), but at the same time it seems like Aemond is the one trying to be the family's protector and attempting to step up as patriarch, with some of the scenes between him and Alicent giving off the vibes of equals rather than Mother and Son (like when they discuss Aemond finding Aegon) and his relationship with Aegon seeming like he's the big brother and not the other way around, in this essay I will-
