Hi! I recently found out that I'm very likely OSDD. My therapist stated that he doesn't think I'm distinct enough for a DID diagnosis, which I guess he's right as I still feel like they're all parts of me (and I'm not used to using "we" to call myself... yet?). I'm also not aware of any amnesia for full switching (twice and those only lasted for like less than an hour and I'm at contralling front again, if you know what I mean lol), so I guess I might be OSDD 1a and 1b.
The thing is, that makes us difficult to tell who is who, unless someone being relatively distinct speaks inside my headspace then I can tell by the tone or the contex (there's a "demon" and a "gaurdian angel"), and my little self doesn't show her preference difference except for that one time of short period of full switch. We don't really have our own names other than the name that this person has been living with. What else can we do to try to find out who are blended in co front/co con?
Also, how do we tell if one is DID but almost always co front/co con, or if that's OSDD 1b? Does OSDD 1b basically means DID/OSDD 1a but always co front/co con?
Figuring out who's who is something that generally gets easier with practice, but some things you can do is finding or writing a list of questions you can look over when you're blurry. These questions would be things like preferences, interests, age, pronouns, appearance, etc, whatever might be helpful for you. It's okay to not know the answers to the questions, but even just going with what seems sort of right can be helpful. You could also try looking through your system list to see who fits you best. And maybe if this isn't working because you aren't distinct enough, if you want to try to become more distinct, you could try things like finding names and separate interests. But as a side note, it's okay not to know who you are, you don't always have to know, and learning to be okay with sitting in the blurriness can be helpful.
OSDD-1b is DID but without amnesia. DID with rare complete switching is called partial-DID.
We used to think our host was permanently frontstuck and we could only co-front with him, until we found out we're monoconscious. That means we share a consciousness, so when we switch, we feel ourselves become the new fronter, rather than it feeling like someone is taking control of your body and the last fronter going into the innerworld or going unconscious. Although if you are able to do possession, as in you feel like another headmate is taking some or full control of the body from you, then you wouldn't be monoconscious, and you would always just be co-front in your case, and may have amnesia but you may only be able to tell after a full switch (which it sounds like you've experienced).
It does sound like you have OSDD-1a because your headmates aren't that distinct and they feel like parts of you, and you have some amnesia. Remember you aren't always aware of amnesia, and even if you do only have a small amount, it could still be enough to qualify for an OSDD-1a diagnosis.

Do any monoconscious systems have any tips on switching intentionally? We're collectively a frontstuck monocon median subsystem, for reference, but we have no control over switches between ourselves. engaging in typical positive front triggers only seems to work ~15% of the time, which isn't exactly reliable. We thought we were fine not being able to direct the flow, but it's becoming a problem for some of us. if anyone that experiences monoconscious plurality has any ideas, resources, tips/tricks, etc, it'd be deeply appreciated

Hey we need some help with figuring out if we’re monoconscious or polyconscious or a mix
We’re pretty sure that we meet every requirement for monocon minus the “feeling like your becoming your headmates” part, because we don’t become eachother, it’s like we filter through or something, not super sure. that’s why we’ve stuck with hydraconscious. But now we’re wondering if that’s even right, cuz I’ve been asking headmates how they feel when switching and we all have slightly different answers that contradict eachother.
Our main wonder is if its possible that hosts consciousness is stuck at front while others filter through it?
(Sorry if this is rambly, we just argued with eachother about how we feel about this. We’ll send in a better one later)
hey, so we’re not sure whether your experience would be considered polyconscious, monoconscious, or something else. we see how this can be a difficult thing to figure out! in our system, different parts have different memories and are not always conscious at the same time, so we’re pretty sure we’re polyconscious.
having a frontstuck host is a fairly common system experience! one community term that describes systems with frontstuck hosts is specutien - maybe it’s what your system is experiencing too!
we hope y’all are able to not get too bogged down in labels. your experience and the way your system works together and treats each other is much more important than any label you choose for your system! ultimately it doesn’t matter if you’re hydraconscious, polyconscious, monoconscious, or something else, as long as you and your system are able to learn more about each other and help each other flourish and grow.
best of luck to you all!

hello! I'm the host of a monocon/median system. I've been frontstuck for god knows how long, and I'm just really tired. I can't access headspace because it feels like there's something or someone blocking me from it, our overall system communication is non existent because we're silent practically all the time, and I just wish somebody else would take over for once.
I've tried front triggering, but we can never fully switch. We've heard voices before but we're starting to doubt if it's actually a headmate because we found out a few months ago we inherited some kind of auditory hallucinations due to schizophrenia passed on to us by our mother, and we often hear voices at night, so we're starting to doubt our overall plurality.
just.. any tips on communication? sorry this is so long, it's really late.
We would first like to state that schizo-spectrum symptoms or disorders are not incompatible with plurality, they can and do overlap, in cases where people are on the schizo-spectrum and experience plurality.
Some people experience plurality (more than one person in their head) as a symptom of psychosis, their headmates are re-occuring hallucinations which may or may not have an internal headspace and may not have much ability to communicate with one another.
It has only been in recent years that schizo-spectrum and psychotic individuals have been included in discussions of plurality, and we welcome this with open arms. Boldly speaking, the experiences of all forms of plurality are similar regardless of the cause. Someone with hallucination-based headmates is experiencing just as equal a plural phenomenon as Our system who was clinically diagnosed with D.I.D, and we will die on that hill.
We would rather have everyone who experiences “more than one person in a body” no matter the “reason” be equally supported and listened to, because our ableist society will simply eat the “non-protected” up like wolves.
This happens with a lot of minority groups, Gatekeeping leads to the vulnerable getting hurt.
Plurality itself comes with a certain layer of external or internal auditory stimuli for some, called Imposition, and regardless of you inheriting or not inheriting schizo-spec symptoms from your mother, you can still very much be plural.
It is possible that the on-set of your schizo-spec symptoms may be affecting your plurality in some manner. It is, as of currently, unknown exactly how a schizo-spectrum disorder might affect plurality, but from what we know of psychosis we can discern that the symptomology would exacerbate difficulties with plurality.
In particular, Disorganized Thought can certainly affect ones ability to switch or become front-stuck as the result of racing dis-jointed thoughts which are unable to be communicated with due to their nature of being hard to catch up with.
It is likely a good idea to speak with a psychiatric professional going forward, as they will be able to monitor your symptoms and help you find treatment that may enable you to have better communication if the underlying symptoms of schizophrenia are what is interfering.
Outside of psychiatric treatment, it is likely best to keep some form of private discord server or journal for yourselves to write in. Other tips would be to do exactly as you have been and continue to encourage other system members to front or speak with you.
We wish you the best of luck, and if you have further questions feel free to contact us.

Is it real to feel like a singlet half of the time because your headmates rarely really talk? They mostly talk with me when prompted, otherwise like to just vibe silently. We're median and monoconscious, we believe, but this makes it feel like it's all a lie to me.
I mean any experience is "real" so inherently yes! If you're experiencing it, its real!
But even I get this! I'm personally monocon and a frontstuck host, a lot of times I feel like a singlet because how different things are for me. But it doesn't mean you're less real or less plural. You just have a specific experience!

kind of a vent but
we're an endogenic system. but we're disordered (not dissociative tho just very dysfunctional) & polyfrag, as well as basically singlet-coded for all the others front. and it sucks and im at the point where im making up pretend headmates because the ones there don't ever do anything at all and are almost never awake
i can get the feeling, different experiences can be very isolating! as a frontstuck / monocon host we're easily singlet passing and only a few other headmates ever front.
but do know that even despite these circumstances you all are valid and important!
