I could talk about janggu all day.. but basically she was a namekian brought up on earth (much like piccolo) but she was raised in a city by adoptive parents, she grew up like a human and was even convinced she was just a human with a weird skin condition- this she is shy about the parts of her that is not considered beautiful by earth standards, like her lack of hair and that she dosent have feminine biology, so she dresses very feminine and insists on always covering her chest despite the fact that nothing is there ^^

She grew up eating and drinking junk that humans eat and never trained so she never developed into peak namekian form so she dosent have very pronounced muscles and isn't very strong, this is also why she is so short. (I imagined she hit the gym super hard only doing squats and stuff to make her legs more shapely just to help her body dysmorphia :( but never wanted to do arm work outs bc she didn't wanna be bulky)

★ Making a new name for the Frieza Species

Just found out that Acrosians are a WHOLE different species! So that name is off the list. I don't want to name his species "Ice-jins" or "Frost Demons" (No hate to the people that use it, obviously.) So I have forged a new name for them based on my headcanons. Meet the Tusharshi Species. (Plural: Tusharshians) (Pronunciation: Tus-Har-shi)

Their name comes from a history of being the worlds most resilient cold-blooded species. (The word Tushar roughly translates to snow or cold, meanwhile Shi translations to Star in Tusharshion.) Some people call them Tusharherons (Pronounced Tus-Har-Heron), since of how adapt they have become at hunting back in the day, and in present time. Heron, in the name, translates to Deadly in Tusharshion. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.

Profiles in Villainy Redemption 

Vegeta

The prince of the fallen Saiyan race, Vegeta IV is a hero who was forced for a long while to act as a villainous general of the tyrannical galactic overlord known as Freiza.  As a child, Vegeta was bestowed onto Freiza by his father, the then ruler of the Saiyans.  He was given to Freiza as an act of surrender so to spare what few remained of the Saiyan race.  Frieza accepted the child, honing young Vegeta into a powerful top lieutenant and leader of his planet-conquering ‘Frieza Force.’    

Regal, egotistical, and full of pride, Vegeta acted as a cold-blooded warrior and outright killer, enforcing Frieza’s dominion across numerous worlds.  This changed after conflicts with a fellow Saiyan on Earth named Goku.  Vegeta was ultimately encouraged to put aside his anger and embrace a peaceful life on earth as an ally to Goku and key member of the Z-Fighters.   

Once Freiza was finally vanquished, Vegeta was able to settle down and know a time of peace and happiness.  He married his colleague, Bulma and together they had two children: a son named Trunks and daughter named Bula.   Trunks would go on to become an incredibly powerful warrior himself and it was he who was able to finally destroy Freiza once and for all, avenging the countless Saiyan’s who had died at the despot’s orders.  

Actor Ryō Horikawa has provided the voice for the Saiyan prince in the anime; with actors Christopher Sabat and Laura Bailey voicing the character in the English language dubs).  The villain turned hero first appeared in the second episode of the Raditz Saga of the Dragonball Z anime, airing on May 3rd, 1989.

Questions I'd ask my faves if we were friends in their universe

Chaos says: decided to write lil blurbs about some characters I like and how I think they'd respond to said questions. gonna post in parts and update this post accordingly. Featuring: vegeta, shikamaru, eren.

“Vegeta..? What’s dying like?”

The older Saiyan paused at the question, hand frozen as he reached for the meat you set in front of him. You looked at him somewhat curiously and yet there was an emotion in your eyes he couldn’t place. He narrowed his eyes and sat back in his chair.

“The hell kind of question is that?”

“A curious one.” You said back, grabbing at the warm cup of tea in front of you and taking a long sip. He studied you for a moment. In the years that the man had come to know you, you were always asking questions. Some were about the Sayian history (which he was more than willing to tell you about) and some were about himself. Why he fought the way he did (“I fight because it's the Sayian way”), what his favorite part about Earth was (“...like the food..and nature…n’ Bulma..”) and how he really felt about Goku (“Kakarrot is a moron….but he’s one hell of a fighter..”). So it wasn’t the question that shocked him…but more what you were asking.

“M’ not answering that over dinner.” He said plainly, biting and tearing into the meat. You shrugged your shoulders and grabbed at the plate of fruit you set out, popping a grape into your mouth. Dinner went as it usually did; Vegeta standing up from the table in a haste and muttering a quiet “thanks” before stalking off to the living room to meditate. You did the dishes as you normally did, Vegeta focusing on the quiet tune you were humming to yourself. It wasn’t until he heard you let out an accomplished sigh and sit on the couch in the living room before he said “It’s not peaceful.”

You eyed the spiky haired man as he opened an eye to make sure you were listening. “It’s terrifying..” Memories of his time on Planet Namek, of clinging to his last moments, of his weak pleas to Kakarrot to end Freiza’s reign played through his mind. “Teetering on that edge of life and death…” You watched him clench his hands into fists. “..The fear and dread I felt from that moment will never leave me.” The silence was loud in the living room and it made you feel heavy. Your heart ached for your Sayian friend. He was strong, both mentally and physically, but you couldn’t help but feel sorry for him. His entire race was wiped out and he had to push down his emotions for so many years in order to survive. Vegeta noticed your silence and huffed.

“I don’t plan on dying anytime soon so don’t feel sorry for me.” You offered a small smile.

“You know feeling empathy is in my nature. Call it one of my many annoying human traits.” He scoffed, but a smirk fell on his lips. He grabbed the remote and flicked on the TV, settling on the news. You both sat in a comfortable silence before another question popped into your mind.

“So how’d you know you loved Bulma?” You bit back a laugh as the blush formed on the man’s face.

“I’m not answering that!”

“It was when she laid at your bedside worried about you huh?”

“SHUT UP!”

think of growing newer sharper teeth and the old falling out, of falling into deep rages and despairs, of finger nails being brittle and bleeding as they sharpen, of flashes of growing pain, of growing tails and monkey eyes, of turning into a large beast as the full moon comes and goes, waking up with strange things in your teeth from rampages the previous night that you can’t remember, of wanting to claw at the wall and scream because no one understands you

like bulla and pan are very different kids, but they’re around the same age. They’d experience this around the same time, and try to understand it together. Imagine they start off hating each other but learn to be friends as they realize THEY are the only female Sayians left in the world, and only THEY could possibly understand each other

think of them lying in hospital beds, arguing over who gets the fan. Sharing tips and advice when the rages come. Helping calm each other down when their triggers become known. Talking softly to one another by a fire as they realize how alone they are, but not completely. Because they have each other. They turn into monkeys and blindly rage in the country side, minds gone and teeth sharp, but they grin because even then because they have each other.

they’re not monsters. They’re girls. They’re girls in a world without them.

extra: The adults in their universe try to help them as much as they can, but the information on what exactly is happening to them is just LOST. It’s gone. Everyone who would know is dead. It’s just one of the many things Freiza killed in his genocide: the knowledge one woman passes into another. It’s gone and lost and now the Sayians of earth have to mourn that. Vegeta especially, since Bulla is so angry at him for not knowing anything about female Sayian biology.

Imagine him taking a moment to talk to her about how by the time he was old enough to care, all the female Sayians were gone, so why bother asking? How the only other two Sayians were men, so only male puberty mattered. How he failed his daughter and it’s all because they are the last of an entire race, and they are so, so alone.

Friezia is trying to woo Glacia Part 2 pls

"Would you just leave me alone already?"

The pink Ice-jinn sounded quite distressed given the fact that one of her father's longtime enemies was following her incessantly. No matter how many times she managed to get away from him, he found her again. She was lucky the first time that her father showed up, second and third time too, now it was just getting ridiculous.

"Just quit running, woman!"

"I have a name!"

"And you have a duty to your king to do as you are told!"

"Says you!"

The back and forth only seemed to emphasize the difference in the two Ice-jinn who raced across the sky in a constant chase. Glacia- the abnormal feminine Ice-jinn- in the lead as the one who was clearly being chased. Frieza- the pinnacle and prince of Ice-jinn- following behind as the obvious pursuer and aggressor of the two.

For once, Goku did not appear to the aid of his dear ice-jinn daughter. This was due to Goku actually being told not to intervene by the angel of universe 7 and the accompanying god of destruction. Female Ice-jinn simply were not a common occurrence and the appearance of one drew the keen interest of the guardians of the universe.

Female traits were recessive in the species and had all but died out in every universe that still had the powerful race. Even among nonparallel universes, the unusual space-enduring aliens evolved among the infinite possibilities. The unique situation to each appearance of the race still held certain constants that tied them across realities.

Where almost every universe had Ice-jinn, the effeminate traits had all died out. The gods and angels of the universes believed there were no feminine traits in the race anymore, having all evolved the same way each time from unique circumstances. They were the only species that appeared outside of a single pair of parallel universes, a constant among every universe despite the infinite odds preventing such repeats.

An oddity among her own race of sentient life, Glacia was being observed by those Gods of Universe 7.

"I can make you a queen!"

"I don't want to be a queen!"

"I can give you power!"

"I don't want it!"

Despite the madness that Glacia's words were to Freiza's ears, something instinctual made him continue the pursuit. Besides, Frieza was not the type to give up simply because someone was being difficult.

"Just obey me, damn it!"

"Hell no!"

He got close enough to reach out and begin to wrap his fingers around her tail, fractions of a second away from catching her. The moment he seemed to catch her, he was seemingly teleported a fair distance back. That stutter in location more than caught the attention of the powerful audience.

"Son Goku," the God of Destruction- an anthropomorphic sphynx of incredible power- glanced at Goku with a curious and almost suspicious gaze, "what was that technique?"

"It's something Glacia does and she's tried to teach me, but I still don't get it. She reverses time in a certain area near or around her, meaning she just sent Frieza back in time to get distance between the two of them."

It was then the angel of universe 7- a delicately featured man with pale blue skin and white hair- seemed to take greater interest. Time reversal was something exclusively used by the Gods of the universe and was often considered a crime to be used by anyone else. However, it seemed like the small time pocket wasn't too extreme of a manipulation of time.

"I think she can reverse a planet now? Maybe a sun for a little bit? All I know is the bigger the space she is reversing, the smaller the amount of time she can reverse it for."

The two godly beings glanced at one another, silently sharing their interest in this unusual oddity.

"I'm gonna go make him stop. I don't want Frieza around my daughter and clearly Glacia doesn't want him around either."

dragon ball/dragon ball z were some of my first manga, one of the big hyperfixations of my childhood -- launch and vegeta were some of my first fictional crushes and i first entered martial arts training because of dbz

i have yet to watch kai, probably out of some deep seated worry they'll remove some of the goofiness of the og series, and also i might have some senimental attachment to watching multiple eps of staring your enemy down a la the freiza saga

my misplacing of my first volume of dragon ball still haunts me to this day, yet i loathe to buy another in case it magically returns to me someday

i'm not sure what this post is meant to be. maybe deconstructing my thoughts on the impact of a series had on a guy who once raced inside to watch dbz on toonami every day, and is now reacting to the creator's death not as that kid but as a 32 year old man who still leafs through his old dragon ball manga with a smile from time to time

i never got to meet akira toriyama, i'm not sure how many cons he attended state side, but i hope he knew in some way that he impacted countless kids like me around the world for the better

Top Games Played in 2023 - Number 10: Dragonball Xenoverse 2

10. Dragonball Xenoverse 2 (Switch)

I've never bounced off a game as hard as Dragonball Xenoverse 2. In fact I played maybe 2 hours before giving up on it, so this is not going to be a nice review.

What I Like

The main reason I bought this game is to have a Dragon Ball character creator. And I think the character creator is solid. You get a few different races to choose from including weird ones like Buu and Freiza's. Pretty good options for customizing, including hair styles from nearly every DB character. And different races also play differently, so it's not just cosmetic.

You also get multiple slots, so you can create multiple characters.

I also think the graphics in general represent the series well.

The idea of the story where an enemy is trying to do "what if" scenarios and you have to stop them is a fun idea because you get to be part of those what-ifs.

That's all the positive stuff I can think of.

What I Don't Like

I hate the controls. And this is a fighting game, so bad controls completely sink it. Compared to the Budokai Tenkaichi series, there's way too many things you can do and it just doesn't feel good to push buttons. It's more of a bad feeling than anything I can logically explain, but it's bad enough that it stops me from playing more than the first mission.

I can't even bother getting further into the story to see if it's good or bad beyond the concept because I hate playing this game.

Final Thoughts

I bought this for around $10, and I think that's a decent price to pay for a Dragon Ball character creator. So I'm going to pretend that's all this is. I recommend it if you find it this cheap and want to make your own DB OC (and really, which one of us doesn't?)

Frieza

The descendant of Chilled and the youngest son of King Cold, Freiza inherited his father’s army and rose to power as supreme emperor of Universe 7.   Frieza quickly established himself as a cruel and ruthless tyrant, feared for his immense power and merciless governance.    

Foreseeing a threat to his tyranny in the legend of the Super Saiyan, Frieza

orchestrated the near-complete extermination of the Saiyan race.  Those few Saiyans who survived ultimately bowed down to Freiza and the Saiyan king offered his son, Vegeta, as tribute to act as a lieutenant in the emperor’s colonial ‘Frieza Force.’  

Having learned of the powers of the Eternal Dragon, Frieza sought out to obtain immortality by collecting the fabled Dragon Balls.  To this end he invaded the planet Namek where he encountered the Z-Fighters.   The ensuing conflict resulted in the Saiyan, Goku, being able to unlock his Super Saiyan powers.  With these powers, Goku defeated Freiza and the villain appeared to perish.  

Close to death, Frieza was rescued and revived by his father, King Cold.  In his recuperation Frieza grew more and more obsessed with taking his revenge on Goku.  Having finally restored his strength, Frieza traveled to earth to seek out his nemesis.  Much to his shock Frieza found himself facing yet another Super Saiyan in the form of the mysterious Trunks who swiftly defeated and destroyed Frieza.    

In death, the villain was remanded to the alternative dimension of Hell.  There Frieza continued to plot means of gaining his revenge.  

Actor Ryūsei Nakao has provided the voice for the villain in the Dragon Ball Z anime (with Christopher Ayres and Linda Young voicing the character in the English language dub).  Frieza first appeared in the fifth episode of the second season of Dragon Ball Z, airing on April 18th, 1990.
