Bed bugs or fleas: How do I know?!
When it comes to dealing with pests, it can be quite the challenge to determine whether you're dealing with bed bugs or fleas. Both can be a nuisance and cause discomfort, so it's crucial to identify them correctly to ensure effective pest control measures are taken. In this blog post, we'll explore the key differences and give you some tips on how to identify these pesky creatures.
First and foremost, it's important to understand that bed bugs and fleas are two distinct types of pests. Bed bugs are small, reddish-brown insects that feed on the blood of humans and animals. They are typically found in mattresses, furniture, and other areas where people sleep or rest. On the other hand, fleas are tiny, wingless insects that also feed on blood but primarily infest animals such as dogs and cats. However, they can also bite humans.
One of the most significant differences between bed bugs and fleas is their appearance. Bed bugs have a flat, oval-shaped body, while fleas have a slender and elongated body. Bed bugs also have a distinct odor that is often described as musty or sweet, whereas fleas do not have a noticeable odor.
Another way to differentiate between the two is by looking at their bites. Bed bug bites typically appear in a line or cluster on exposed areas of the skin, such as the arms, legs, or back. They often cause intense itching and may leave red welts or small bumps. On the other hand, flea bites appear as small, reddish bumps that are usually surrounded by a halo-like redness. Flea bites are commonly found on the lower legs and ankles.
If you suspect a bed bug or flea infestation in your home, it's essential to seek professional pest control services. Contact Pros In Control Pest Services immediately at (201)744-2887 or (718)880-7995. We specialize in pest control in Jersey City and its surrounding areas and provide thorough inspections to determine the type of infestation you're dealing with. We also offer tailored solutions to eliminate these pests from your home effectively.
In addition to professional help, we offers some steps you can take to protect yourself and prevent further infestations. Regularly wash and vacuum your bedding, furniture, and carpets to remove any potential hiding spots for these pests. Seal any cracks or crevices in your walls, floors, or furniture, as they can serve as entry points for bed bugs or fleas. Finally, consider using mattress and furniture encasements to prevent these pests from infesting your sleeping area.
In conclusion, determining whether you have bed bugs or fleas can be a challenging task. However, by paying attention to their appearance, bites, and seeking professional pest control services, you can effectively tackle these infestations. Remember, early detection and prompt action are essential in preventing these pests from causing further problems in your home. So, don't hesitate to reach out to Pros In Control Pest Services at (201)744-2887 or (718)880-7995.

Don’t Blame Me: Azriel x Reader
Warnings: Violence, Suggestive
(loosely based on the don’t blame me x LWYMMD mashup from the eras tour ngl)
***
You heard a desperate, strangled shout of your name as he went down. You screamed, anger and fear taking over. No, no, no, you chanted in your head, diving in the direction Azriel had fallen. This couldn’t happen, not to him.
The two of you were sent on a mission to investigate unknown creatures breaching the borders of the Night Court. Rhys wasn’t even able to tell you what they were, just that they were more dangerous than anything you’d dealt with before. You had been given explicit instruction to leave once you found where they were residing and report back the location. From there a larger team would be sent out to eradicate the threat.
You had been tracking them carefully for days, trying to find their home base. You were beginning to think they didn’t have one, that these creatures were nomadic. Until an hour ago. Azriel had practically dragged you as high as you could go in the sky, pointing to a cluster of trees a while away. “There,” he explained, “they reconvene there during the day.” You nodded, preparing to fly back to Velaris and tell Rhys. Azriel caught your arm, shaking his head. “I want to track them a little longer. Make sure I have the pattern right so when we come back we can have the best chance at taking them out.”
You didn’t have a good feeling about staying out, but you agreed anyway. It was important to ensure the information you had was as detailed as possible. That’s how you ended up here, wind rushing past your face as you free fell down to where Azriel landed. Please be okay.
You dropped to the ground and surveyed the area for any sign of life. There was nothing there. If you hadn’t seen Azriel fall yourself you would have assumed nothing was ever down here. You took off through the trees, heading in the direction of what you assumed was their camp. You listened carefully for any sound, whether it be danger or Azriel himself. You were nearing the clearing he had spotted earlier when you heard a slow hum, ducking back behind a tree and tucking your wings tight against you. You poked your head out to watch two of the creatures move farther in the area, Azriel dragged between the two of them. Your heart ached at the blood running down his face and his limp body.
You followed the creatures until you were at the edge of the camp, watching their moves intently. The tied Azriel to a tree trunk, moving and muttering around him. You were taking in how many you saw, estimating that about 30 of these things were living here. Your nose wrinkled at the sight of the insect-like beings, their long stingers the supposed most dangerous part of them. The creatures were roughly the size of an Illyrian soldier, resembling wasps more than any type of fae. Large, disgusting wasps. The hum grew louder as what you supposed was the leader approached Azriel. Your toes curled as you watched the way it yanked his face up, inspecting the unconscious male.
It turned to one of its workers, a horrible clicking sound coming from its mouth. The other responded in the same way, the language grating against your ears. They turned back to Azriel, continuing to talk about him. You wished more than anything you could understand what they were saying. You looked over Azriel again, noticing that his blades were still strapped to his body. Did the creatures not realize what they were? Or were they truly so deadly they didn’t need to worry about disarming their enemies? A chill ran through your spine at the thought.
The leader let out a loud screech and the others filed into neat rows in front of it. You paled at the sight of them all together. What were you going to do? You desperately called for Rhys in your mind, knowing he likely would never hear you. Even if he did, how long would it take him to get here? Azriel might not have that much time left.
The leader gave some sort of command, and you watched in horrified shock as they all opened their mouths. Long, sharp, straw-like tubes came out, heading straight towards Azriel. You didn’t have time to think before you ran out there, quick enough to take them by surprise and get in front of him. The creatures all stopped, taking in this new sight in front of them. Adrenaline was pumping through your body, the only thought you had was to save Azriel.
Don’t blame me.
You pressed your back to his front, reaching behind to grab on to one of the swords strapped to his chest. Your warrior eyes darted around the creatures, desperately searching for any sign of weakness.
Don’t blame me.
The leader moved towards you, that horrible straw coming straight to your face instead. In a split-second decision you ripped the sword from its place on Azriel’s chest, a loud scream tearing from your throat as you swung. Tense silence spread through the woods, followed by a sickening squelch as the creature split in half.
Don’t blame me for what you made me do.
The other creatures all swarmed towards you at once, your screams and the sounds of bodies hitting the floor echoing through the woods around you. You became feral, tapping into the deepest parts of your Illyrian training. All you knew was to not let them touch Azriel. One of those horrid straws sank into your thigh, a searing pain ripping through your skin. You yelled, the next strike aimed at the creature who attacked. The wound burned like acid had been poured into your bloodstream, and knowing the way these creatures worked it probably had. You couldn’t let that stop you, not when Azriel was in danger.
Look what you made me do.
You fought back with more anger, cutting down creature after creature. You were a force of pure power, midnight blue siphons a thing of deadly beauty. Another straw embedded itself into your arm, the sword clanging to the ground. You wrapped your uninjured hand around the pulsating thing, ripping it out of your skin. You squeezed your hand around it, harder and harder until you felt the satisfying pop of it breaking. The creature it was attached to howled and you shot it square in the chest with your power. You looked around, noting there were only three of these left. Even with your arm and leg out of commission, you felt you could finish these last few off.
Don’t blame me, love made me crazy.
Your uninjured arm slid down, pulling out a dagger you had strapped to your thigh. You surveyed the three creatures around you, deciding to go for the middle one. You roared, jumping forward and latching on to the nasty beast. Your dagger rammed into its chest and you slid down, your weight pulling the blade down its body. It screeched as you were showered with its sticky green blood, collapsing backwards. You turned to the other two, adrenaline dulling the pain of your injuries as you pulled out a second dagger.
Oh, Lord save me, my drug is my baby I’ll be using for the rest of my life.
The two convened on you at the same time and you swung out both arms, spinning in a death dance with the blades. You landed on one knee in front of Azriel, twin thuds from behind you letting you know you struck true. Your breathing was heavy as you looked up, up into his wide eyes. He murmured your name and you dropped the daggers, the adrenaline rushing out of you. You winced at the sudden pain in your arm and leg, spreading quickly from your intense use of them. You fell forward, body shaking while you tried to push yourself up. You had to untie Azriel, he had to get out of here.
Don’t blame me, love made me crazy.
You forced yourself up with a cry, fingers undoing the knots the creatures had used to keep Azriel trapped. He pulled out of them the second he could, catching you as your weakened body fell against him. “I got you, I got you,” he whispered, cradling you tight to his chest before shooting off into the sky. Far, far away from the carnage you unleashed on those creatures who dared to threaten him.
***
“No, Rhys, i’ve never seen anything quite like it. She took out all of them. Heavily injured on top of that.” You recognized Azriel’s voice, muffled as if he was standing behind a door. You tried to open your eyes, but your eyelids felt as if they were ten thousand pounds each.
“That can’t be. You’re certain no one else was around? I’ve never heard of one single person taking out 30 of them. I’ve rarely heard of someone taking out just one on their own.” Rhysands voice was contemplative, trying to understand how you could have pulled off such a feat.
“I know that. I saw her do it Rhys. She was a true force of raw power.” Azriel sounded…in awe of you. You forced your eyes open, blinking as you adjusted to the soft light pouring in from the windows. You looked around the room, realizing Rhys and Azriel must be standing right outside the cracked door. You tried to sit up, a loud gasp of pain ripping from you at the action.
The sound alerted the two males outside, the door flinging open as they rushed in. “How are you feeling?” Azriel demanded, immediately coming to your side. You tried to sit again, the pain knocking the breath out of you. “Let me help,” he said softly, gently pulling you into a sitting position.
“I think i’m okay. In a lot of pain. What happened?” Your throat was sore, voice gravelly. You assumed you had been out for some time. Rhys observed you carefully, like you were a specimen he was investigating.
“You took on a hoard of those creatures. Alone. Do you remember that?” His question was almost accusatory, as if he didn’t believe the story.
You nodded. “Yes.” The reminder of those horrible bug creatures made you shiver, the sounds of them dying echoing in your ears.
“Can you show me? How you did it?” Rhys’ eyes bore into you, almost a threat. You stared right back, not appreciating the doubt from your friend.
“Go ahead. I have nothing to hide.” A claw stroked your mental shields and you dropped them easily. The memories of the fight began playing, the anger you felt overtaking your senses. If you hadn’t been there you wouldn’t have believed the strength you showed to defeat all of them. The reminder of your wounds stung your healing skin, Rhys even wincing as he watched. He could feel your rage, your power.
He could feel the dedication and love you felt towards Azriel.
You threw your shields back up at that, not wishing to let him in any further. He had seen enough. Rhys blinked at you, eyes flitting between you and Azriel. “I see,” he mused. “Well, you certainly did kill them all. That’s quite some feat of power. I think perhaps I should tell Cassian to up your training.” He winked at you and moved to leave the room. “I’ll let the healers know you are awake. I will be back later to check in.” He left, closing the door quietly behind him. Leaving you with Azriel.
Azriel, who was looking at you like you were the most delicate flower he had ever seen. “Are you sure you’re alright?” His concern struck a chord in you, a hand reaching out for his.
“I will be just fine. How are you? Is your head okay?” Your eyes scanned his hairline, relieved that there seemed to be no permanent damage.
“I’m good. My wounds weren’t half as bad as yours. They knocked me unconscious once I hit the ground.” His eyes lowered and he ran his thumb over your joined hands. “I should’ve been there for you. To help.”
You squeezed his hand in your own. “You were attacked, Az. I’m just glad I was able to get to you in time. If I were a moment later…” your voice trailed off and tears pricked at your eyes. Those straws were so close to stabbing into his body, sucking the life out of him.
“Hey,” he said, looking back up at you. “You saved my life. That’s all that matters.” He gave you a smile, your heart squeezing tight.
“Yea,” you agreed, even though you wished to say more. You wanted to tell him you loved him, be honest about your feelings. You were so close to losing him, to losing any chance to be with him. The fear of rejection stopped you from continuing, the way it always did.
Azriel was looking at you intently, eyes seeming to read your mind. You put on a small smile, pushing your feelings back down. His eyes dipped down to your lips, gaze heavy. Your heart skipped at his expression of hunger. “Az,” you whispered as he leaned closer to you.
“Hm?” He asked, not taking his eyes off your mouth.
“What are you doing?” Your voice was a whisper, so quiet you weren’t sure he could hear you.
“Something I should’ve done a long time ago.” He ducked his head down then, pressing his lips to yours. You went completely still at the touch of him, mind in overdrive. He began to pull away when you came to, wrapping your arms around his neck and pulling him back. You kissed him hard then, the way you wished you had when you thought he was going to die. When you thought you’d never get the chance to.
His arms wrapped around your waist, pulling you tight to him. You ignored the protest of pain in your arm and leg, focusing on the feel of Azriel pressed up against you. Of his mouth on yours. The way one of his hands began traveling down your thigh, fingers running along the edge of your nightgown. He bit gently on your lower lip, a silent question to open your mouth. You obliged, moaning at the taste of him. His fingers dug into your thigh at the noise and you let out a cry of pain.
Azriel pulled away from you quickly, apologizing immediately. “Maybe we should wait until you’re healed.” You sighed at the statement, but unfortunately agreed. You wanted to enjoy your first time tasting, feeling, loving Azriel. You pouted at him as he readjusted you, laying you back down on your pillows. He brushed a stray piece of hair off your forehead, leaning down to press a soft kiss to your skin. “I love you.”
Your heart was going to thud out of your chest. “I love you too.” Your declaration was a tad breathless, trying to decide if you could actually ignore the pain long enough to get on top of the male. He laughed, sensing your thoughts and gave you a soft kiss. You had waited so long for this moment, to have your love reciprocated.
“You need to rest.” He moved to hover slightly over you, carefully moving his way down your body. His fingers found the edge of your gown again, eyes looking up to yours from between your legs. “There are plenty of other ways I can please you.”

Unsolicited 7
Warnings: bad self-thought/talk, bullying, insults, low self-esteem, money problems, more dark elements to come.
Wouldn’t mind some feedback! Lloyd was driving me nuts so I had to do it. Thank you in advance 💜
Tumblr media
Colin stopped calling just after nine. Still you keep your phone on silent.
You grab the bucket of supplies and change for the bus, another day ahead of you, your entire routine thrown off by the latest crisis in your crumbling life. You can make do without the car, just like you can survive without your husband.
You open the door just as a figure appears on the other side. You drop your shoulders as Lloyd blocks your path, propping an elbow against the frame as he looms over you. You check the time on your phone.
“I’m gonna be late–”
“For what? We got a deal.”
“I’ll pay you back for the tow,” you insist, “alright? But I gotta go. The bus–”
“Inside, sweetheart,” he points past you, “let’s sit down and chat.”
“After–”
“Now,” he pushes himself straight and walks inside, herding you back into the house, “I got the estimate, even if you have the car scrapped, you won't breaking even on the tow bill. So, what leverage do you have exactly?”
You roll your eyes, “you’ll have to wait. I’ll pay with interest–”
“Divorces are expensive,” he insists as he grabs the bucket, tugging on it as you resist, “sit down.”
“Please,” you beg, “can we not?”
He yanks the bucket away and drops it on the floor, “you can sit or I can make you sit. You agreed, we’d talk. Now, let's lay out some terms before you go pouting.”
You jut out your jaw and sigh. You shuffle to the small kitchen table and sit. He stays standing, gripping the back of the chair opposite. He gives a long look around, taking in your home. It’s not much, half a duplex, cramped but tidy.
“You keep a nice house,” he muses, “comes with the job, I suppose.”
You struggle not to tear your hair out as you watch him. He pushes away from the table, pacing around as he inspects the drawers and lifts the carafe from the coffee machine, the dregs of the morning’s pot left over. He swishes it around before replacing it.
“You need a way out, in a manner of speaking I need a way in,” he turns to you and grins, “so, I think we have a start.”
You clench your jaw and drag your nails over the wooden table, fighting not to scratch into the surface. He tucks a hand in his pocket as he nears again, kicking a foot up on the crossbar of the chair as he stops. He clicks his tongue as he considers you.
“I’ll get you out of here, baby. All you gotta do is say ‘yes, daddy’.”
You growl and grit your teeth, “I told you, I’ll pay you–”
“I don’t wait. I don’t do interest, but baby, for you,” he pulls his foot to the floor and sidles in front of the chair, sitting theatrically as he puffs out his chest, “I can give you a bit of… dignity. You’ll still be working, earning your way. You’re a maid, I’m messy as fuck, so I think maybe it’s time you move into the private sector.”
“You want me to clean your house?”
He laughs and winks as his tongue pokes out, “that’s the basis,” he traces a flat line with his hands, “you ever heard of something called ‘free use’?”
You shake your head and cross your arm, your puffer jacket swishing awkwardly with the movement. He pauses as his eyes wander down and his eyebrows flick up in amusement.
“No,” you answer aloud.
“Wonderful,” he snorts, “of course you wouldn’t, Colin seems a missionary man. Nice, simple… boring.”
You shudder and hook your leg over the other, “I don’t want to talk about him with you.”
“Oh, I fully intend on helping you forget him. Let me explain; you’re going to come over and make things nice and pretty for me and if I’m walking around, living my life, doing my thing and I happen to think that your ass looks nice and pretty, well, then I’m gonna bend you over and use you until that thought goes back to where it came from.”
You curl your lip in disgust, insides squirming as you swallow tightly.
“And you’re going to let me. You’re going to say, ‘yes daddy, what hole?’”
“Fucking Christ, you know you are the most repulsive person I’ve ever–”
“Yes, yes, I’ve heard that before, but you’re not really in a position to worry about… feelings.”
You stare at him, “if you’re so well off, can’t you go out and get some supermodel off the rack?”
“Boring,” he snickers, “now, that car is caput. Your marriage, eeeh, well that seems about the same. And I know you can’t afford to just walk out. But I can give you everything you need; a roof over your head, maybe some clothes that don’t look like they’ve been fished out of the dumpster, and a good fucking. Or many.” He taunts as he wiggles his shoulders in superiority, “and something even better, revenge.”
You rub your cheek, your other arm kept firm against your chest, “revenge?”
“On that dipstick. He gets to come home to an empty house, pay half the rent, and realise how fucked he truly is. That ex of his, she’s not gonna leave her husband for some half-dime sales manager. She’s married to a goddamn trust fund baby.”
“How do you know all this?”
“Let’s not ask too many questions about how. Baby, you don’t wanna know all that.”
You look down and trace a ripple in the wood with your thumb. Your chest tightens, the clutch of inevitability closing in, squeezing your rib cage until it hurts. What you know of this man is vile and what he won’t tell you, is perilous.
“Okay, I’ll make this real clear for you. I’m being nice, we’re talking.” He sits up, elbows on the table, knees wide, “You want to keep being stubborn, I’m not going to stop. I’m going to follow you to work and I’m going to wait and then I’m going to bug you again. And then maybe, I’m going to call your boss and make a complaint.
“Then you’ll get back here and you’ll be exhausted and annoyed because, lo and behold, I don’t fucking stop. And you’re alone and you’re thinking of your man fucking another woman.” He runs his fingers along his mustache as his lips curl, “And you got no wine left. You take a hot bath and think about your bad life decisions and you still got no plan.
"Tomorrow, you take the bus again, you clean, then you get a call from Donny down at head office. Yes, there was a concerning phone call about you. Things missing in offices. That’s a serious offense, they could call the police.” He taps his fingers on the table pointedly, “Probation for now but likely termination once the investigation ends.
“You walk out just after noon, you can barely see straight. Everything is coming apart at the seams. No car, no job, no husband…” He sits back and grips his thighs, “And good old Lloyd is waiting for you. I might even bring roses, if I’m feeling real nice. But at that point, my balls will be so blue I probably won’t have a thought left above the waist.
“So, baby, let’s make a choice; my way or the hard way?”
You glare at him, breathless. You're dizzy as you try to think. The last few weeks swirl around you, the vortex circling around you. You believe him. You know he won’t stop. All he’s done, you have no doubt that he’ll follow through.
Your cheek ticks. Is that what you're worth? Low. Lower than you ever expected. But what other option do you have?
“Don’t bother packing,” he stands, jolting the table with his ascent, “oh, and…”
He comes around the table and grabs your wrist, forcing your arm up. He grabs your rings and you curl your finger. He tuts and bends it back in its socket until you cry out. He rips the bands past your knuckle and whips them across the room.
“We’re done talking,” he clings to your hand and presses it to his crotch. "Say it."
"Wha--"
"'Yes, daddy'," he prompts, "I wanna hear it baby.
You push your tongue against the roof of your mouth. Humiliation sears behind your eyes, "yes, daddy."
He hums and squeezes your hand around him, a twitch beneath the fabric, "oh ho, see baby, that got me good."

Moreover, using a car transport service can be more cost-effective than driving the vehicle yourself, especially when considering factors like fuel costs, wear and tear on the car, and potential overnight stays. It's a hassle-free way to move your vehicle without adding extra mileage or risking road incidents.
Additionally, a reputable car transport service provides peace of mind, knowing that professionals are handling your transportation process. They are experienced in moving vehicles securely and efficiently, giving you confidence that your prized possession is in good hands throughout the journey.
Factors To Consider When Choosing A Car Transport Service

Check if the car transport service is licensed and insured. This will give you peace of mind, knowing that your vehicle is protected in case of unforeseen circumstances during transit.
Another critical factor to consider is the cost of the service. While finding a competitive price is essential, be wary of unusually low quotes as they may indicate subpar services or hidden fees.
Additionally, please inquire about the types of vehicles they can accommodate and their delivery timeframe. Ensure their schedule aligns with your needs to avoid delays or inconveniences during transportation.
Communication is critical when choosing a car transport service. Opt for a company that provides clear communication channels and keeps you informed throughout the process for a stress-free experience.

Next, contact the car transport service provider for a quote and schedule your vehicle's pick-up date. Provide accurate information about your car's make, model, and condition.
Prepare your car for transportation by removing personal belongings and ensuring it is clean for inspection. When the driver arrives for pick-up, inspect your vehicle together before signing any paperwork.
During transit, stay in touch with the transport company for updates on your car's location and estimated arrival time. Upon delivery, inspect your vehicle again to ensure no damages during transportation.
By following these steps carefully, you can have a smooth experience using a car transport service in Atlanta.
Cost of Using a Car Transport Service in Atlanta
When considering the cost of using a car transport service in Atlanta, it is essential to weigh convenience against price. The rates for transporting your vehicle can vary based on factors like distance, type of vehicle, and any additional services you may require.
Some companies offer competitive pricing packages that cater to different budgets and needs. It's wise to request quotes from multiple providers to compare prices and services.
While cost is an important factor, quality should not be compromised. Look for reputable companies with positive reviews and a track record of delivering vehicles safely and on time.
Factors such as insurance coverage, delivery timelines, and customer support also affect the overall value of the service. Be sure to clarify all details before deciding to ensure a smooth and stress-free experience.
Conclusion: Is Using A Car Transport Service In Atlanta Worth It?
Using a car transport service in Atlanta can be a convenient and stress-free way to move your vehicle from one place to another. It can also save you time and mileage on your car, along with the assurance of professional handling, so it can definitely be worth considering.
When choosing a car transport service, consider factors such as reputation, insurance coverage, delivery options, and cost. By following a step-by-step guide on how to use a car transport service effectively, you can ensure a smooth experience.
While the cost of using a car transport service in Atlanta may vary depending on distance and vehicle type, it is important to weigh this against the convenience and peace of mind offered.
In conclusion, Using a reputable car transport service in Atlanta can provide reliable transportation for your vehicle while offering convenience and protection during the process. You knew they had returned from the mission. Had even already gotten a preliminary list of equipment that would need possible repair or replacement. Eventually Fixer would make his way to the bay in which you did repairs on the gear the various squads used.  He always did.
In the beginning he was suspicious.  How could a natborn be qualified enough to maintain their gear? Especially since the men themselves took care of the basics.  After they were debriefed they were sent to drop the gear that needed repair or replacement with you.
“What are your qualifications?” He asked bluntly as he set his gear on the counter.
“Fixer! You can’t just ask people what their qualifications are!” Scorch had joked immediately with a wink in your direction.
“They can ask me anything they want, anytime,” Sev said, with a smirk.
“Specialized school from the time I was twelve standard until I was eighteen. Trade school until I was twenty-two standard, where I achieved multiple awards on my work. Then two years working with my planet’s military until it was absorbed into the GAR half a standard year ago. During which I have received three commendations.” You list off as you pick up an ascension cable with a compromised latch. “By my rough estimate that means I have been officially learning and winning awards in my field for as long as you have been alive. And we are not even counting the years I spent as a child learning my craft from my grandmother and father. So if you feel the need to question my abilities I assume I should also feel the need to question yours?”
Scorch snickered at that, “they told you, Fixer,”  with a little wave he and the other two left, leaving the man behind with you.
Rolling your eyes you put the cable in the repair bin and move on to the next piece of equipment.
“That piece is beyond repair,” he said, still wearing his helmet.
You swore in your native tongue before answering, “feel free to put it to the test when you get this unit back. Until then, if you have a problem with me, take it up with the chain of command.”  You are already inspecting and sorting the next piece of gear. “That should keep you tied up enough that I can actually do my job”
Fixer stood in the repair bay with his helmet on for more than an hour watching you until you looked up once to see he had disappeared.
After each mission debrief he showed up after that, whether his equipment was damaged or not.  The next time he very quietly asked, “Do you mind if I watch?”
You shrug, “Sure, if it makes you feel better” before going about your work. Fixer stood quietly, helmet on, against the wall watching.
The third time he asked the same, and after about an hour of watching asked a few questions about what you were working on.
Eventually he stopped asking if he could stay and took his helmet off. Edging closer to your workbench. The first time he leaned against your workbench he asked, “do you enjoy your work?”
You pause, ”I guess, I don’t know. It’s just what I do. Haven’t done anything else.  I like fixing things, making sure people are safe,”
Fixer nodded and continued watching you with few other questions that day.
You began seeing him more between missions. He would wander in and watch you work, your conversations expanding. You began asking him what he could tell you about his squad, then planets his missions were on.
You look forward to his visits, the somewhat reserved smile that tugs at his lips while his eyes sparkle with hidden humor.
Eventually the realization that he has your heart strikes you. Not that anything could be done. It was against regulations for clones to have established romantic relationships. Not that it stopped many of them. It was overlooked for the most part in favor of better morale.  But Fixer.  By the book Fixer would never consider it and you couldn’t bring yourself to ask him to. If the only capacity you could have him was this, you would take it.
Fixer always went to be debriefed after every mission. It was what was supposed to happen, so he always did.  So you were surprised when shortly after the alert that their ship had touched down he rushed into your work bay.
Ripping his helmet off and dropping it he strode right up to you, grabbing you by the waist with one hand and pulling you closer while grabbing your chin to tilt your face up to his.
“Wha, Fixer? Are you sure about this?” You gasped.
“Never been more sure about anything,” he said, leaning in and his lips barely brushing yours. Then with a stuttered breath he pulled you to himself and into an overwhelming kiss. You clung to his armor, feeling the scratches and scuffs under your palms assuring you that this was real.
After several long moments he pulled back, cradling your face in his still gloved hands.
“Thought this was against regulations,” you say, looking up at him.
“Kark regulations,” he nearly growled, kissing you again.
You pull back, “who are you and what have you done with my Fixer?”
  He grinned, “Yours?”
You stammer, unable to form a thought to answer with. He nuzzles against you, “I would like that, would you be mine too?”
Fighting back tears of emotion you answer, “only if you kiss me again.”  With another grin, he does.
A whistle sounded from the doorway, partnered with a “This couldn’t wait until after the debrief?” From Sev.
“No,” Fixer said shortly before returning to kissing you.
“Leave him alone, Sev. He’s finally loosening up!” Scorch answered.
“We still need to get to the debrief,” Boss pointed out.
Then Scorch was grabbing Fixer by the back of his armor, towing him away. “You can get back to your cyar’ika later, work now,” he said cheerfully.

TEASER BELOW THE CUT (APPROX. 400 WORDS)
Tumblr media
Jacob was hoping he could slip out of the apartment without Kevin noticing. He was a right fool to think he could do so successfully.
"Where are you going?"
Jacob leaped out of his skin, the doorknob warm from how gently he was trying to twist it open without making a noise. He whipped his head backward and saw Kevin bumbling out of his room, hair sticking up at the back, heel of his palm digging into his eyes, and mid-yawn. "Sunny Side," Jacob said quickly, his other hand lifting the backpack with his change of clothes in it.
Kevin narrowed his eyes at the bag, then at Jacob. He took in the perfected hair, the carefully-casual-put-together outfit, the dash of pink on his cheekbones (most likely from being caught). And was that lip tint—
His eyes slowly widened in realization, and Jacob immediately shot it down, "Don't even—"
"YOU'RE GOING ON A DATE!"
"It's not a date," Jacob groaned, head knocking against the door.
Kevin rushed over and grabbed his friend by the shoulders. "Who is it? Where is it? I want to know everything, like how could you not tell me?"
"Why are you making such a big deal out of this?" Jacob asked, scratching the back of his neck. "It's just coffee."
"Jacob Bae, you put lip tint on. You don't put on lip tint to get 'just coffee'." Kevin released him, walking back toward the kitchen with a tiny skip in his step.
Jacob lingered by the door, shuffling on his feet. Why wasn't he moving? Probably because of what Kevin had just pointed out. He pulled his phone out of his pocket and turned the selfie camera on to inspect the state of said lip tint. It was a little red… maybe too red…
"Aren't you gonna be late?" Kevin asked. He leaned back against the kitchen counter with a glass of water in his hand now.
"Is the lip tint too much?"
Kevin frowned. "Cobie, I was just teasing. You look good—no, stop messing with the lip tint. You look good."
"Oh, okay."
Kevin's brow arched, but the sly, little smile had returned. "Okay," he repeated. "Now go! Yn's probably waiting for you."
Jacob decided to leave now before Kevin thought of following him or something. He knew he probably wouldn't, but he would definitely threaten something of the sort. "I never said it was with Yn," he called back, the door slamming shut behind him. He hoped his ears weren't as red as they felt hot.
Kevin, left to his lonesome in the apartment, snorted into his water cup. "Sure, it's not Yn."

🎀 lolita sales post 🎀
A little mix of styles, I'll post below the cut. I'm open to offers and whatever doesn't sell I'll probably list to lacemarket? Prices in usd, I will provide photos to anyone interested! I just didn't want to go through the hassle of photographing everything. I'll state the condition and notes I have on each piece~ everything has been purchased secondhand.
I've linked lolibrary entries for sizing and release info. Feel free to make offers!!! I based my prices from quick searches on other sites, but I'm flexible. Depending on the item and country I would estimate 20-40$ shipping (im in canada)
I dont really have formal feedback for selling clothes anymore since I haven't in forever, but I do have an online shop where I sell art prints, so I have experience selling things online and whatnot.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Metamorphose Sailor Short Sleeve OP in ivory (2011) - $100
Missing bow (left photo), but still has the tie (like right photo) this dress is so lightweight and perfect for summer, I just don't like how the sleeves fit on my arms. No noticeable damage. I washed it but i havent worn it out!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Btssb Tartan Check Jacket in green (2005) - $180
No damage, only tried on by me. Another wonderful piece but too tight in the arms for me. It's soft, but polyester. I'm honestly so sad about letting this piece go I adore it, but I need to stop holding onto things I won't wear!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Btssb Ribbon Sherbet Skirt in pink (2010) - $40
Really adorable skirt, it's shorter and perfect for casual wear. You can't tell in the stock photos, but the fabric is woven with glitter! Again, washed but I haven't worn it besides trying on.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Aatp Sylvester vest (2011 or 2013) - $80
I think its the women's size, as there is so spider tag. I had forgotten and then realized upon inspecting while writing this that one of the back panel buttons had come off and I must have stored it somewhere to keep safe. I'll look for it (I know I have it somewhere lol) on the offchance I can't find it though I will discount accordingly. Worn by me and washed, there is no other noticeable damage.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Aatp Justin pants in red (2018) - $100
Only tried on by me- I'm going to keep it real with you I'm just too bottom heavy. The waist is full of room but the leg measurement (in average clothing sizing proportion) is really small. I don't understand why they would add so much extra room in the waist and not make the thighs adjustable at all. The sizing doesn't match up with the lolibrary entry, the waist can stretch up to 90cm, and is about 76cm not stretched... the inside measurement of the leg cuff is maybe 46 cm (the fabric is thick so measures 50 on the outside if that makes sense) when wearing this, the top of the waistband was floating around but made a sharp ^ down the back, these shorts will not be flattering if you have wider hips. All of that said they are really beautiful, I adore the fabric, but the lolibrary entry is very misleading!
---
I've run out room for photos in this post and need to locate the second blouse, but I have 2 white bodyline blouses and the strawberry gingham skirt I might bundle all together for idk 50$? I'll have to find them all first, but in case anyone is interested.
---
Other pieces I've been going back and forth on selling are:
victorian maiden velveteen frill bustier in wine (2002)
Metamorphose velveteen high waist ribbon jsk in red (2004) (missing detachable bust panel)
But tbh I can't come up with a reasonable price I'd be willing to sell them at. On the off chance they are someone's #1 dream items and you'd like to make an offer I am open for it but I might turn it down. I would be open to trades for similar items too though! Such as another vm bustier or old meta velveteen op/jsk of the era.

What are the benefits of using a ride-sharing app like RideBoom?
Using a ride-sharing app like RideBoom can offer several benefits for both passengers and drivers. Here are some key advantages:
Convenience: Ride-sharing apps provide convenient transportation options at your fingertips. With just a few taps on your smartphone, you can request a ride and have a driver pick you up from your current location. This eliminates the need to wait for a taxi or navigate public transportation schedules.
Cost-Effectiveness: Ride-sharing can be a cost-effective alternative to traditional taxis or owning a car. The pricing structure of ride-sharing services often includes competitive rates, and you only pay for the distance traveled and the duration of the ride. This can be particularly beneficial for shorter trips or when you don't require a vehicle for an extended period.
Ease of Use: Ride-sharing apps are designed to be user-friendly and intuitive. They typically offer features like real-time GPS tracking, estimated arrival times, and in-app payment options. These features make the entire process of booking, tracking, and paying for rides seamless and hassle-free.
Safety and Security: Ride-sharing companies prioritize passenger safety. Drivers undergo thorough background checks, and their vehicles are often inspected for safety and cleanliness. Additionally, ride-sharing apps provide features like driver and vehicle identification, real-time tracking, and the ability to share ride details with friends or family, enhancing overall safety and security.
Flexibility for Drivers: Ride-sharing apps offer opportunities for individuals to earn income by becoming drivers. This can be an appealing option for those looking for flexible work hours or additional income streams. Drivers can choose their own working hours, and the app provides a platform for them to connect with potential passengers conveniently.
Reduced Traffic and Environmental Impact: Ride-sharing encourages shared rides, which can help reduce the number of individual cars on the road. By optimizing passenger capacity and routes, ride-sharing apps contribute to decreased traffic congestion and lower carbon emissions, thus promoting a more sustainable transportation system.
It's worth noting that the specific benefits may vary depending on the ride-sharing app and the region in which it operates.

ROTTERDAM — Migrants bused from New York City arrived at a Super 8 motel where residents of the Carman Road business were kicked out Tuesday.
The sudden displacement of the motel guests, some of them indigent, caused a stir Wednesday among local officials outraged that people confronting poverty were seemingly left without living quarters to make way for the new arrivals.
The motel is the latest Capital Region business to offer housing to migrants bused from New York. The town of Colonie went to court after the first group arrived in May at a motel in town. New York City buses then brought migrants to two hotels in Albany. It is estimated that more than 400 migrants have been brought to Albany County, but Tuesday’s development appears to be the first time there were plans to house them in a Schenectady County community. Officials said New York City signed a contract with the Super 8 to allow migrants to live at the motel.
Rotterdam Town Supervisor Mollie Collins said a Schenectady County official told her the migrants arrived from Texas to New York City before going to Rotterdam. She said there were still questions about whether the motel stay was temporary, how long the migrants had been in the U.S. and their immigration status.

“There are so many questions we have,” Collins said. “Because we haven’t been given any information.
“You have to remember this is a humanitarian effort,” she said later. “It’s human beings and you can’t lose sight of that.”
But officials with New York City Mayor Eric Adams' office late Wednesday afternoon said the guests at the Super 8 Motel who were being displaced had all been offered free “extended stay” lodging at a comparable hotel nearby. They did not immediately clarify the details of that offer or how long an “extended stay” would last.
Motel management has for two days declined to speak with reporters.
On Wednesday, security guards roped off the parking lot to the motel. A couple people drove by offering food or clothing. Others shouted in anger from passing vehicles. That morning, town codes department workers conducted a scheduled fire inspection at the building.
Later in the day, groups of people left the motel to shop at the nearby gas stations. One group said they were from Peru, Venezuela and Colombia. Speaking in Spanish that was later translated, one man said they were there to build a future for their children.
Schenectady County had not expected to receive migrants from New York City. County Manager Rory Fluman said most of the hotels in the county are at capacity, including facilities the county uses in Schenectady to house people in need.
“We’re being told they are all asylum-seekers,” Fluman said Wednesday. For part of the year, the Super 8 houses people who received assistance from the county’s Department of Social Services. Fluman said none of them were living at the motel when the guests were asked to leave Tuesday.
In the spring, New York City began busing migrants to upstate communities after the city’s social service system was overwhelmed by the mass arrival from Southern states.
New York City has promised to pay for migrant housing for anywhere from a month to a year. Fluman said he expected the migrants would eventually seek help from the county’s social services system.
Caught by surprise
The state assemblyman who represents the area decried the secrecy surrounding the situation and displacement of the longtime residents of the motel. The actual number of those forced out was not known.
In a statement released late Tuesday, Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara accused Adams of “thoughtlessly sending buses with migrants to (the) Super 8 Motel in Rotterdam, completely disregarding the fact that many of the individuals already residing there were struggling with poverty themselves and are now displaced. I am absolutely outraged by what has transpired.”
Local officials were caught by surprise by the upheaval at the motel. Schenectady County government officials were silent for hours after guests were told to leave the motel, but released a statement late Tuesday confirming, “a local motel contracted with the city of New York to host a group of asylum-seekers.”
U.S. Rep. Paul Tonko echoed Santabarbara’s sentiment, criticizing Adams' administration for not communicating ahead of the arrival of migrants. “It’s never acceptable to kick families and long-term residents to the curb with mere hours’ notice,” the Amsterdam Democrat said.
Town officials seemed equally surprised no one involved in New York City’s efforts to find housing for migrants informed them of the pending arrivals.
Santabarbara said he and others learned of the arrivals “through the rumor mill. This level of disrespect and blatant lack of concern for our community by forcing this situation on us without notice and zero communication is unforgivable. The federal government must take action to put an end to this chaos.”
A spokesman for the mayor’s office said New York has opened 185 sites to serve the 90,000 migrants and ran out of space, saying in a prepared statement that New York isn’t asking Schenectady County and other governments to manage the migrants or cover the cost of their housing. The statement did not address concerns about the Adams administration’s alleged failure to communicate with local officials nor that the motel kicked out residents to make way for the migrants.
Late Wednesday afternoon, a spokeswoman for Adams' office said the private contractor they are using to relocate migrants had offered guests at the Super 8 Motel alternative lodging arrangements at no cost.
“Guests at that hotel were all offered to be relocated and booked for an extended stay at a comparable hotel in the same area free of charge,” Adams' office said in a statement. “All but one reservation took our contractor up on that offer and instead preferred to be re-booked at the comparable hotel on a daily basis, which we facilitated.”
Offering help
Mike Saccocio of the City Mission of Schenectady said he was prepared to help with any effort to find emergency housing for the people who have been displaced.
Saccocio said all of the organization’s housing was occupied but they were ready to “put down mats” like they do on frigid nights when people need emergency shelter.
“We’re prepared to do our part,” he said Wednesday morning.
Guests were told they had to leave Tuesday morning. A sign posted in the lobby said the motel was closing and that longtime guests had 60 days to pick up their cash deposits. Alicia Cartland had lived at the motel with her 17-year-old daughter and 14-year-old son since October due to its affordable rates and proximity to her job at the local Taco Bell. Cartland said she and her children had just hours to pack up their belongings and find a new place to live.
