Update #2: Fort Leonard Wood Hunting Regulations

It is encouraged that all hunters familiarize themselves with the 2019 Missouri Fall Deer and Turkey Hunting Regulations and Fort Leonard Wood Hunting and Fishing Regulation 210-21 dated August 2019 prior to checking into a FLW hunting area.

Some regulations of note:

— Firearms turkey hunters should remember that shotguns capable of holding more than three shells in the magazine and chamber combined are prohibited.

— The Wildlife Code requires that you have your tree stand labeled when unattended with full name and address or conservation number.

— It is illegal for hunters to clean a deer carcass in a river, creek or pond or drainages or government dumpsters.

— Hunters may take only two antlered deer during the archery and firearms deer hunting seasons combined.

Using an archer’s hunting permit, only one antlered deer may be taken prior to Nov. 16.

It is the hunter’s responsibility while afield to provide permits for inspection by the Conservation Law Enforcement Officer.

Last season, there were many times that the hunter was unable to pull up their permits on the MO Hunting App while afield. It is strongly encouraged to have in possession a paper copy of your Missouri State Deer and Turkey Hunting Permit that it may be notched upon harvest.

Hunters should be sure to have proof of purchase of the required $15 Fort Leonard Wood Sportsman Permit and the required $5 seasonal Permit for Archery Deer and Turkey, Firearms Deer and Firearms Turkey hunting on Fort Leonard Wood, which are available for purchase on the permit tab of the iSportsman site.

Many hunters carry multiple permits while deer and turkey hunting, so check your permit carefully to make sure you’re using the right one before notching it.

Those recreating outdoors are required to register on the FLW iSportsman site and download the free Outdoor Recreation Permit for activities other than hunting and fishing. This will enable you to check in and check out of areas of the installation via iSportsman to participate in various activities such as but not limited to picking berries and mushrooms, riding horses, hiking, looking for shed antlers and spelunking.

By checking in through iSportsman, Conservation Law Enforcement will be able to locate individuals who may need assistance from emergency services.
