for whatever reason, you're there after the war. for touya—not dabi.
once he's moved out of the hustle and bustle of the city and to an intimate little place, somewhere a bit quieter. with his family, of course, as his entire being just—heals. he's given the time and the space and the patience that he needs, but it's not easy. almost feels like it's never going to be.
he comes and goes in waves; thunderous and loud and all consuming, another crash upon the shore. in anger and pain, in fear and hatred, with a kind of madness that you could never hope to understand.
and then sometimes, he is quiet. when you help change the wrappings on his body or when you offer the help of an arm he doesn't have or when you just sit with him, fully clothed, underneath the ice cold spray of the shower.
in these moments, it's almost like he's been gutted, like everything he had inside was scooped out—and it sounds like it should be terrible. but touya watches the carefulness to your hands and how you tie his shoes and lets you rest your head on his shoulder when you're sitting side-by-side in the tub, because he's still as warm as he's always been.
and you think maybe it isn't so bad that all that was removed, when they sewed him back together; all the anger and pain, the fear and hatred, the madness that's nowhere to be seen in those bright and clear eyes of his.
without all that in the way, you hope—you all do—that something new will grow it its place.

Chosen aired for BTVS season 7, episode 22. This was the series finale for BTVS. It was the 144th episode of BTVS.
This was the last appearance of many Buffyverse characters, including Buffy, Dawn, Xander, and Willow. As well as Giles, Faith, Anya, Kennedy, Rona, and Robin Wood.
Since ATS S4 had ended earlier in May, the only Buffyverse characters that would appear again would be those who are in ATS S5. (S5 would be the last season of ATS.)
(Technically several characters also appear in Buffy books and comics, but this site only considers the TV series.)

Newcomers Performance: Suzu fell asleep before his very first stage performance and had everyone scrambling to search for him unless he got replaced at the last second. Otori forgot his line after talking shit for weeks forcing Kisa to improv to save his ass.
Summer Performance: Kisa literally changed the characterization of Mukai the night before the performance with only Neji in the know. Suzu and Kai change the tone of their line without telling Kisa to help once again readjust her characterization of Mukai in the middle of the actual performance.
Fall Performance: Suzu is out thanks to injury resulting in Sou coming in as his replacement a couple weeks before the big day, and then Jean Jose is changed to Figaro and his personality and history and interactions with the cast all change. Neji changes the script and THEN also adds in the new character of Hachipochi just so Suzu wasn’t left out of the play. And then Kisa and Sou do the improv exercise of the year in the middle of the performance without telling anyone just to encourage Fumi to have fun and go all out.
Winter Performance: Literally EVERYONE struggling to properly characterize their roles until the last moment, I mean half the cast was in the middle of a crisis! Like we really went down to the wire to make this play any level of performance ready!
Univeil Performance (Suzu version): Suzu and Kisa both taking turns struggling with their roles until the last fucking minute because of romance and self esteem and acting and all that. The play having two rhythm game sections the player can’t practice for ahead of time because in universe the Quartz kids are constantly adjusting the two of them to the very last moment. Suzu getting his ankle hurt AGAIN and deciding to LIE about it being healed!!!! And perform with all that dancing and action in the role of a FUCKING SOMERSAULTING ACROBAT!!!!! With his ankle busted!!!! And while in excruciating pain the entire damn time!!!!! Also all of Quartz deciding THE DAY BEFORE THE PLAY to be like “yeah okay we’re having issues with this last climatic romantic scene between Chance and Sissia at the end of the play so you know what? Fuck it! Suzu and Kisa can wing it! Improv your hearts out you two 😄” Kisa, Suzu, and Fumi all having to scramble to cover for Suzu’s ankle. Suzu and Kisa having a whole ass genuinely moving ACTUAL FOR REALSIES love confession complete with a FOR REALSIES kiss while staying in character…and then fucking with everyone else by being like “what? we’re actors! So what if we smooch, we’re partners, the newly minted Jack Ace and Al Jeanne of Quartz. We’re built different 😤”
Who else does it like Quartz?! Where else will you get this level of entertainment?!?!?!

See the further irony is:
That in using 'Mall Goth Sauron' as the take on Dark Willow over 'misogynist has character randomly killed for LULZ' it also allows for greater accountability on the one hand and for Season 7 to thematically focus on repairing all this damage in the midst of facing an enemy of shadows reliant on lies to further itself. The only way to break the Druj is the absolute Truth in a very Zoroastrian sense. Characters don't get to neatly skip past accountability for their actions, and this would spiral over into further later seasons with the essential reality that in an otherwise lower-level setting this one random girl from California is a Dark Phoenix-tier reality warper and the most powerful person on the planet, or the universe.
And the questions of how that power could and should be employed on the one hand and that Willow is essentially a Doctor Strange type who beats up Gods and Eldritch Abominations for her regular line of work where her counterparts deal with the more 'street level' crises would in turn be the logical conclusion of where the show ends. She doesn't do as much physical fighting for the same reason that Stephen Strange never uses magic to go punch the Hulk in the face, her narrative role is ultimately that of Sorceress Supreme of Earth, with literally nobody in an ancient established war anticipating that this one random ginger from California was and is the new Sorceress Supreme and that if they had had such awareness the realities are that this power would and could have taken worse forms.
Unfortunately for the world, the reality too is that it is a shy computer geek who has a not at all subtle dark side and the usual teenage anxieties and insecurities given the equivalent of being able to reliably actually do things other people might dream of but can never do.
But again as long as Dawn Summers being a good thing is a narrative convention that's established memory magic is a poor choice to show the corrupting effects of reality-warping. It's a case of 'yes as established in canon all of this is true for that one season but then they decided to retcon it, so the fans are not obligated to care about it any more than the canon does about this itself.'
#willow rosenberg#tara maclay#dawn summers#you will never convince me as long as Dawn Summers is a plot device that 'memory magic unforgivable' is anything but bad writing#it was the choice used but there are other equally toxic things that could have been done instead#the basic theme of 'very powerful person decides things for another in an abusive fashion' works just as well without it#Tara's growth arc in refusing to tolerate abuse even from the person who brought her out of her shell can stand perfectly fine#it works even better with a budding Sauron than abruptly deciding 'wholesale memory rewrites good retail unforgivable.'#killing Tara off also denies her any sense of closure or ability to get that closure with the person who does this#the entire element here with the way things went down is bad writing from Point A to point Z#and it's also easily forgotten but Tara wasn't in fact intended to be Willow's love interest#she was replacement Willow for sympathy points#her entire arc as such became Willow X Tara but it was a choice from actor chemistry#So in giving Tara a role besides 'Willow's Girlfriend' it arguably does better by her character#tara x willow#btvs#and yes yes the 'scale changes things' argument is true but only to a point#it's really no different to introduce Dawn than what Willow did#if the retail is wrong so is the wholesale and the decisions to make this that point of no return is an avoidable mistake#plus honestly imagine a Season 7 Tara going 'sweetie no' and a Season 7 Willow dealing with those consequences in real time#equally one can have Tara's cold turkey approach stick exactly as it was#and serve as her role in the time bomb because she's a product of an abusive family and not an infallible moral guide#she rightly sees the problem and at least tries to address it when nobody else did#but unfortunately her solution was pouring gasoline on the fire and then vacating the range where the fire would burn#still further between that and Willow being human enough to resent being told to take that pain and do it going it alone#there'd be plenty of reasons for a surviving Tara and Willow to spend season 7 broken up as is#Tara would not at all be wrong to be wary and not want to touch reformed Sauron with a 400 foot pole#Willow equally would resent someone whose bad advice helped create the problem and who evades any recognition thereof#good old fashioned drama with entirely human motives

Spike is literally the most character of all time. He's a villain, he's a love interest, he's cool, he's the most pathetic man in the world, he kinda sucks to be around, he's fun, he's a masochist, he's a momma's boy, he's done truly horrible things, he chose to get his soul back, he's a bad poet, he's kind of a good poet, he's bad for Buffy, he's good for Buffy, he's tired of fights he knows he could win!

PRELIMINARY POLL 3
MEET THE COMPETITORS:
Prismo(Adventure Time) "Prismo is a Wish Master who is the manifestation of an old man's dream. He resides in the Time Room, which exists in the center of the multiverse. Booko describes him as "almighty." Prismo is apparently good friends with a number of cosmic-level characters in the Adventure Time universe, including the Cosmic Owl, Party God, Death, and Grob Gob Glob Grod, all of whom were seen at one of his Time Room parties."
Santa Perla(Empires SMP) "Saint Pearl is a deity whom Oli briefly met in her heavenly palace in the earliest events of Empires SMP 2. Throughout Afterlife SMP, Pearl was worshiped by the Church of St. Pearl and championed by Mythical Sausage, who ultimately rejoined her in the heavens."
Them(Don’t Starve Together) ""They" are a mysterious force in the lore of Don't Starve and Don't Starve Together. Their identities are unknown, but they seem to be beings with a very powerful influence over the Constant and its inhabitants. Their goals are unknown, but it involves kidnapping individuals from the real world and forcing them to survive a parallel dimension, as well as selecting certain survivors to rule upon the Nightmare Throne. Alter, which is a giant looming eye in the sky, was identified as "Them" or at least one of "Them". The name Alter has previously been mentioned by Maxwell in the quotes for the Ancient Lunarune Stones and in the Celestial Champion's spawn code. The surface of Alter is covered with a rocky shell, as it was previously thought to be the "Moon"."
The Small and Forgotten Gods(Wanderhome) "The Small and Forgotten Gods of Wanderhome are tiny nature spirits that get overlooked or forgotten. They take on a wide variety of forms based on where they live, and range in size from a mote of dust to ~6in."
Hanyū Furude(Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni) "Furude Hanyū, usually simply Hanyū, is one of the main characters in the Higurashi no Naku Koro ni series, and the true identity of Oyashiro-sama. She is a goddess that appears in Minagoroshi-hen and beyond. Hanyū's past is shrouded in mystery, but she has referred to herself as a demon who became a goddess after she was sacrificed at a true Watanagashi ceremony centuries past to atone for the sins of others. She is also a sort of guardian angel to her descendant, Furude Rika, whom she has followed since birth."
Willow Rosenberg(Buffy the Vampire Slayer) "Willow Danielle Rosenberg was a witch native to Sunnydale, California, a founding member of the Scooby Gang, and the best friend and semi-official sidekick of the Slayer, Buffy Summers. Willow started out as a shy computer nerd, eventually developing her talents to become a powerful and assertive witch. Milestones in her magical career include the enjoining spell, taking on the hell-goddess Glory and surviving, resurrecting Buffy, nearly ending the world, activating multiple Potential Slayers, and, eventually, establishing herself as Earth's greatest witch. During her fight against Amy, she referred to Willow as a "big all-powerful earth mother witch goddess.""

watching tfa for the first time since tlj disappointed me so badly in theatres that I swore off star wars entirely and even though I’ve always been tangentially aware that this is a solid movie watching it again is filling me with SUCH delight
