mostly all for the game and simon snow series, have dabbled in & posted even less for check please, captain america, and one direction! i feel like i’m missing something but regardless my fixations are hardcore, so all except like 4k of that posted wc is for either aftg or ss hahahha

not very often, but i wish i did. i am stricken with a combination of being really awkward when people are nice to me & being bad at interacting with anyone in ways i fear could be perceived as ingenuine. im not sure if that makes sense LMAO. and sometimes when i put a story out, i kind of feel like i’ve said my piece — i’ve put so much into it that i don’t really know what else to say!

anyway, i always reply to questions, because that’s got clear social boundaries hahaha, and i DO love talking abt my stories!! and sometimes i’ll reply to comments that really get me thinking. but yeah, i know i reply less than i could, and i want to like double down on the fact that i am endlessly grateful for everyone who has ever left a comment on my work <3

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

i have killed simon snow twice lmfao. i’d actually classify icarus as rather hopeful — it’s about grief & healing. but legacies is just fucked up lmfao

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

oh man, i write a lot of happy endings haha. i feel like even when my story is tonally darker (rare), it still has a happy or at least hopeful ending. this is probably not the correct answer, but i think sing of the moon has a really vividly happy ending. like — the sun rises for the first time in the whole fic! amazing. or maybe my high school au, We Can Live Forever, which is just the happiest thing i’ve ever written. 

8. Do you get hate on fics?

not really, thankfully! people are smartasses sometimes but overall ive been lucky. there have been a couple of fics where ive winced before hitting post, but it usually ends up fine

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

yessss. i guess i mostly write tender smut, bc i write tender things in general. i think my smut tends to be rather exploratory/playful as well? intentionally sloppy and awkward choreography hahaha

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

sort of LOL. once upon a time i was betaing @tea-brigade's medieval snowbaz au, Reliquary of an Arsonist, and there’s this part where three highway bandits mug simon and baz and then get blasted by simon’s chosen one magic. i am sick in the head so im in the google doc like “lol what if its kandreil.” and then i was like… what if it was kandreil….. and so i wrote Reliquary of a Bandit

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

i recently collaborated with @thewholelemon on our episode of Star Trek: Redemption, Heart-Shaped Box. by which i mean: i wrote the outline & a few scenes, got really overwhelmed, and jenny turned it into something worth reading! 

i also wrote Good Boy in the snowbaz stoner verse with @starwarned, which was rly fun — we sat in the google doc for like, 5 hours trading back and forth on POVs as we wrote pure porn together LOL. it’s funny to think about this, because lauren knows like everything abt me now but we did not know each other as well back then!!! and we were just like “yeah lets write porn together” hahahahha 

14. What’s your all-time favourite ship?

right now it is deeefinitely andreil… they are everything to me for reasons i just cannot possibly be brief about LOL so ill just leave it at that

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

i have a postcanon snowbaz time travel/time loop wip that i was going to try to write for COBB this year but i fucked up the deadlines then the brainrot was like “guess that means more andreil !”. i did SO MUCH research for it and i think it’s rather clever and smutty and fun bc they are yeeted back to watford era! but it’s also dealing with snowbaz, who are in their late 20s and are like in a relationship low point/actively fighting when they end up in the loop… so they are dealing with that tension at the same time as they are trying to get out of the loop. and also fucking around watford to fulfill fantasies HAHAHA

16. What are your writing strengths?

characterization is the thing i care most about! and i think that’s the draw of fanfic in particular to me — i love getting such a grasp on a character that i can translate them into endless situations while still making them feel true to self. i rarely let myself publish anything until i can read through the whole thing without any he would not fucking say that moments hahahha. this is of course pertaining to my own interpretations of the characters, which is the only thing i care abt lmfao

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

i rely a lot on body language because im always writing abt reticent fuckers who cant use their words. but i think i sometimes overcompensate, or describe actions that don't actually fit the scene. i've seen this described as "cheek-biting" -- like, throwing in action during a conversation just to delay the pacing/further the tone, but when you really look at it, it's not necessary. (cheek-biting being like, "character bites at their cheek" in the middle of a tense conversation)

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

i don’t really know any other languages! i think i’ve put a little bit of french in neil/kevin/baz POVs before, but my french knowledge is elementary at best. love the idea of it though.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

one direction babyyyyyyyy !! i wrote quite a bit of it in like 2012-2015 but published very little. there’s 1 on my ao3, some lost somewhere on fanfiction.net (i dont rmr my username lol), and tons in my folders from my old laptop lol.

20. Favourite fic you’ve written?

hmmmmm. im gonna cheat bc i cant pick a single favorite. i always say i think No Turning Back is some of my best writing from a craft standpoint, and it also includes my favorite type of conflict (andrew self-destructing lol). however, i reread both that fic & We Can Live Forever on a plane trip recently after not having touched either for 6+ months — and the solidness of We Can Live Forever actually surprised me, especially because i wrote the majority of that fic while i was stoned and also view it as just exceedingly silly. the world of it is just very rich, and also very very different from the typical character backstories, and i’m very proud of how much that reread played with my heartstrings.  

ok last one — there are several installments of my flashes of intimacy series that i come back to a lot, because i’m proud of what they each accomplish in 500 words. especially because i often turn to those when im trying to express my own emotions lol. specifically, my favorites are picking fights, i don’t mind, swimming lessons, and practicing gratitude.

that was such a bullshit and cocky way to answer this lmfaooooo. but tbh i am my own biggest fan and that is by design — i write stuff so that i can reread it months later and have it be perfectly catered to my tastes. i love all my fics <3

So I normally don't get involved with anything remotely political. I avoid the news, I don't discuss my personal opinions with most people. My overall belief is that the only difference between the two (American) parties is the color of their ties, because the same corporations line their pockets, and unfortunately anyone who makes it anywhere in politics is corrupt. This part isn't all that important just some background, with it being election season here in the states, I have multiple things blocked tag/content wise, I don't want to see it. For that reason I don't get on facebook, okay this is a whole lot of back story for the payout lmao.

I get on facebook to see the post my vet did featuring my dog and i made the mistake of scrolling. I see a bunch of posts about how horrible bankers daughter turned singer is (i'm not a fan of hers just to be clear, i change the radio and usually complain when she pops on), how her music is anti-God, anti-family ect ect ect, again i don't care. I looked up some of the lyrics and tbh this stuff is tame? Again I DO NOT CARE, i haven't liked her since her first song hit the radios.

Anyway, these same very evangelical people posted about her and how people need to come to God yadda yadda, how pure and Christian they themselves are, then they go on to post about 45 (trying to avoid this post getting pulled into any searches by content lol) apparently 45 has released (or is at least endorsing) a new bible, which besides being an obvious play for money and votes, it's extremely sacrilegious and offensive. Had anyone else been pushing this, there would have been widespread calling them the anti-christ, instead evangelicals are acting like this is a sign from the lord himself.

i'm lutheran, i take the sacraments, i pray, i read the bible, and i'm so angry that people think this is okay. holier than thou people too, it's so infuriating. sld;kfjsdlfkj how can people say he's a god fearing man?? like he obviously doesn't fear god, if he did he wouldn't be putting out a bible that throws in american nationalism.

How many works do you have on AO3? 10 (plus the one i orphaned, which still has my username attached). one is fanart. i'm... a very irregular writer.

(mysterious lotus casebook) (78) 5) to gravity and the unknown (elder scrolls) (50) the actual most-kudosed work of mine is the Accursed Orphan, red oni, blue oni (tensei shitara slime datta ken) with 2202 (oh god). it really, really wasn't my best work, i stopped following the canon when i got bored with the plot, and the constant stream of kudos emails started to get on my nerves, hence the orphaning.

Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? i try my best to! that said there are a lot of unanswered comments from periods where i just couldn't keep up with life. i appreciate each and every one though! i swear i'll get around to them someday 😭

What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending? i tend to write bittersweet more than outright angsty. maybe snow and repetitions of snow, featuring two shitty stubborn wizards who are on-again off-again exes/enemies with benefits. it ends on them realizing that their ideals and personalities are irreconcilable and yet they cherish each other regardless. sometimes it just be that way!

What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending? no takebacks is very short but given that it undoes a major character death and ends with a sort-of marriage proposal: probably that one. sometimes you just gotta write fluff to soothe the soul.

Do you write crossovers? not really. occasional crossover cameos can be fun, but overall they don't interest me a ton? i much prefer fusion AUs, but i don't often write them; perhaps because my stuff tends to be shorter and more intensely character-focused than setting-focused.

Have you ever received hate on a fic? not openly. if anyone's hating on my fics in private that's their prerogative lmao.

Do you write smut? If so, what kind? occasionally! there's one explicit fic on my account and numerous WIPs that may or may not ever see the light of day. "porn with feelings" is probably the best description for the stuff i tend to write. sometimes the characters are trying very hard to ignore those feelings but they're still there. (shout out to the one lin chen/mei changsu WIP in my folder which is Very Much That.)

Have you ever co-written a fic before? not yet, though i've done illustrations for big bang fics in the past, and RP'd and created shared AU verses with friends. actual co-writing isn't something i've done, but the idea is intriguing! (that said, i'm extremely flakey and wouldn't wish myself as a co-writer upon anyone.)

"all-time" is a pretty broad category, wow. in terms of sheer volume of fics i've bookmarked though mei changsu/xiao jingyan are absolutely destroying the competition, no contest. in terms of "currently rent-free in my brain" i am frantically paddling this XJY/MCS/LC rareship against the current.

What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will? (gestures vaguely at my entire folder of WIPs. weeps loudly.) tbh talking too much about my WIPs or even giving them a serious title until they're most-of-the-way finished feels like giving them the kiss of death. i'm not superstitious but i'm like a little stitious, you know?

What are your writing strengths? given that my entire writing process feels kind of like banging my head against a wall while crying: hard to say! i'm told i'm good with conveying tension though. in terms of characterization, insufferable theatrical magnificent bastards.

What are your writing weaknesses? long plotty fic and me are not friends. my pacing can be a bit mood whiplash-y at times. i abuse italics and semicolons like they're going out of fashion.

What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic? depends on the cultural context of the canon, the purpose for doing so, etc... like pretty much anything else, it can be used to good effect, or it can be really grating. i think things like honorifics and terms that don't have a good 1:1 english translation are pretty much fine.

What was the first fandom you wrote for? idk probably some pokemon OC thing when i was like ten years old? in terms of fic completed and posted online, elder scrolls.

What’s a fandom/ship you haven’t written for yet but want to? (shoving numerous WIPs back into my folder) does NiF count? i haven't finished anything for it yet... in terms of canons i haven't touched at all, maybe sha po lang. i read the entire thing in one long weekend while house-sitting for a friend and i'm still not sure if it was good or if it just hit all my kinks just right, but either way there's probably something to work with here.

PLOTS OR MEMES?: again, both are fun! i think a balance ( maybe not 50-50, but a balanced amount ) is ideal. as much as i do love plotting, it does require a lot of energy and social battery. so meme's are perfect for times when you are running low on that, but still want to rp~ ( and i'm going to do the ones in my inbox soon I PROMISE )

LONG OR SHORT REPLIES?: my replies usually end up being long. but for starters or meme's, short sometimes makes the most sense... I know the fact I often write novels might seem intimidating to people who aren't novella, but I don't mind short replies . . . lengthy replies is just more of my personal 'writing style', but I don't require partners to adapt to it?? yOU DO YOU

I think because he's one of my oldest; his very first incarnation as a character I wrote goes back to when I was like 12. so he does have a lot of personal touches-- things that are probably quite specific to mE & my personal tastes. as I got older, I started to make a wide variety of characters, some of which I have nothinggg in common with... but Tai isn't one of those ajsja. we're not extremely similar, but we're not complete opposites either ? I think I partially fear saying that because I don't want anyone to think he's a 'self-insert', but... meh. I would hope it's pretty obvious that he's not :sob:

How many works do you have on AO3?

I have 10 works on ao3 with plenty of little one-shots posted here on tumblr and at least triple that many WIPs lmao

What's your total AO3 word count?

My current ao3 word count is 165,375 words. TSAR is responsible for, like, 70% of that word count.

What fandoms do you write for?

On ao3, I've only posted for Critical Role, and I do not foresee that changing, but who knows! Before Critical Role, I never really saw myself as a writer that posted on public forums, and it's not as if I haven't entertained and dabbled in other fandoms.

Overall, including collaborative writing/roleplaying, I have written for Warriors (yes, the cat books), Bleach, Naruto, Hetalia (im sorry you have to learn this about me), Glee, Dragon Age, and Digimon.

le petit encore (145 kudos), my mediocre TSAR 'verse smut fic. every time it gets another kudos i am pushed closer and closer to continuing my smut WIPs because i swear!! i promise!! i can write better smut!...but i am rather proud of this piece because it was my first serious foray into the world of smut and i gotta recognize my own hustle lol

As Easy as Riding a Bicycle (113 kudos), modern AU/college-aged Pikelan, Pike's bike gets stolen and she turns to a dating app to try and find it and finds love instead. super love this piece. everyone should read it and give it more kudos so it can be my third most kudo'd piece teehee

Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

Yes, yes, yes! Even as I free myself from the shackles of needing that validation and feeling discouraged if I don't reach some arbitrary number of engagement, I cannot deny that comments are inspiration and writing fuel. So, when I get a comment, I think it's the least that I can do to respond, even if it's just to say thanks.

I am definitely guilty of sitting on comments that make me particularly happy for weeks on end before actually remembering to respond tho

No, thankfully not!

Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

As mentioned previously, I only really have one serious smut fic, though I have written a couple other bits and bobs....and maybe I have a couple WIPs that may or may not see the light of day. I'm not sure what kinds of smut there are...but I guess I would describe my approach to smut as 'I am a sex-repulsed asexual and idk what's really going on here but I'm here to express closeness and intimacy and love in this strange new world' lol

Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?

If we're talking crossovers in the sense that characters from two separate fictional stories meet and interact, I have written in roleplays back in middle school like that but never explored the concept in fanfic.

If crossovers also includes taking the concept of one fictional media and inserting the characters of another into it (e.g., Hogwarts AU or HDM AU) then I've definitely written and have plans for various fanfics like that. I don't think that I have any that I would consider "crazy", but I do think my brief notes and writings for a OTGW-inspired Nygmobblepot/Riddlebird fic were v inspired.

Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not that I know of and hopefully not! Very little gets posted in the Pikelan fandom that I don't see, so I like to think I'd be hard to pull a fast one on

Have you ever had a fic translated?

Not yet, but I would love to see The Sun Always Rises translated into other languages someday!

Have you ever co-written a fic before?

I've entertained a couple co-written fics that have unfortunately never gotten off the ground much, but I'm not closed off to the idea. I see it as being quite similar to roleplaying!

What's your all-time favorite ship?

Oof. As a lifetime shipper, that's a tough question. I never truly let go of a ship, even after I've moved on from a fandom, but there are definitely some that are far more enduring in my heart than others.

Of course, if we're going off of writing alone than it's Pikelan. Writing TSAR got me through some of the hardest years of my life and, despite what's become of them and what I'm forced to endure by continuing to engage in the fandom space, they're special to me in a way that a lot of other ships can never be, no matter how much I love 'em.

Also, in the case of writing, FenHawke. selfishly, of course, Fenris with my Hawke. I love writing for them, and I consider the pieces that I've written for them to be amongst my best. They're the Dragon Age ship for me.

What's the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

.....[shamefully hangs head] A-Side and B-Side, the sequels to TSAR. I'm gonna keep writing them for as long as I am able but, if there ever comes a day that I post an update and get zero engagement, then I think I'll just have to move on. but! if even one person keeps coming along for the ride, then I'll stick to 'em. I just don't know if there's anyone who loves my writing enough to stick around for, like, another 5 years lol

The other big one is Vex's Delivery Service...which is exactly what it sounds like. A Kiki's Delivery Service inspired AU but it's about Vex. though truly, it's a thinly veiled excuse to write about domestic Pikelan is what it is. I have the whole thing planned out. I just can't ever seem to get it off the ground and, at this point, with the way I'm halfway out of the CR fandom, I don't think I ever will.

What are your writing strengths?

I have been extremely lucky to have been complimented on multiple facets of my writing over the years. However, I think what I pride in myself the most is my ability to let each scene breathe and take its time. It means that I take forever to write and nothing's ever short, but I don't think I would like writing quite as much if I wasn't allowed to let each moment have its breathing space.

What are your writing weaknesses?

It's a bit of an oddball pick maybe, but it's something that I feel like I have to own up to as a notorious modern AU writer:

People say that modern AUs are uninspired and boring, especially when you're taking characters out of a magical fictional world just to put them into our world and....the rumor's are true. I just don't get that into the lore of a fictional universe to ever feel comfortable writing in it. I do just find it easier to write everyone as humans in a modern-esque society. Now, I will stand by the fact that part of the fun of modern AUs is taking these magical characters and interpreting into a modern space (I often do the opposite with modern era characters into a fantasy world of my own design), but I just want to fully own up to the fact that...yes, I am too lazy to research the intricacies of canon in order to write a proper canon compliant/adjacent fic.

Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I think it has it's place.

For me, if it's a language that the POV character understands/that the reader should understand alongside the POV character, then there's no reason to write it in that language. Simply include a dialogue tag to explain what language the character was speaking in. and I say this mostly from a logistical/ease of reading standpoint. Having to scroll down to the bottom of a fic or switch to a separate tab with the translations interrupts the flow of reading.

If, however, the language is included, untranslated, to reflect the POV character's own lack of knowledge of the language then that makes more sense. because you, as the reader, are meant to keep reading at the same level of understanding as the POV character and there's no pressure to be rushing for a translation just to make sure you're not missing an important line of dialogue.

but of course, as with most things, it's writer's choice!

First fandom you wrote for?

Warriors, probably...maybe Hamtaro. I definitely read fanfic for it and had my little daydream musings, but I don't think I wrote anything down.

Oooh, we talkin' fic fic? That's long gone, and it's up in the air which of those many early fandoms that it was for.

If we're talking that's readily available on ao3, then my first was the things we know and the things we wish they knew. though, I was writing and posting Dragon Age one-shots on tumblr before that one.

preference of communication : i like a tumblr im at first, but then it's discord once we know one another/are mutuals. i'm super adhd/working/a mom, so it's easy for me to lose track thinking i've responded to messages that really i just read and then replied in my head to. so don't be afraid to double message me.

most active muse :  hmmm, i'm not sure who is most active? maybe blanca, since she's a newer one and i'm trying to figure her out.

experience / how many years : oh, gosh. well, i've sort of rped earlier than tumblr, but it was a long time ago. i'd say i started on tumblr in maybe 2013? 2012? i ran a game of thrones fashion blog lmao and an rp hit me up for a promo. i was like, this seems cool and joined. then i joined hellstate in 2015, which was a zombie rp and where i met velouria! we've been writing together ever since both in groups and indie.

best experience : i miss group rp a lot sometimes, because of the shared universe and like community there. i think hellstate was my best experience and like 2015 hellstate was peak. there's so much like shared lore and it's really fun when a group works. velouria has had quite a few amazing brainchildren we've built together, so maybe another fave would be southboundhq, which deserved so much more time! now we work on verses and that's p great. aside from that, i've really been enjoying this account since i started fresh. i've got quite a few people to write with who seem both interested in worldbuilding/their own muses and in mine as well. so thank you all!

rp pet peeves : oh, gosh. weird vocabulary fads? like eyes being called hues. there's nothing really wrong with it, but it makes me laugh at how things like that really catch on in the rpc. when folks don't have much to add in plotting conversations and it feels sort of like you're the only one keeping the conversation going. i feel too awkward! i can't do it!

fluff, angst, or smut : oh, gosh, angst. i don't write smut and i'm not really super into fluff either? unless it's like a little meme answer or drabble, which can be a nice refresher. but i'm here for the horror and drama okay.

plots or memes : i like a loose plot, but i'm very go with the flow. it's more exciting though to have an idea where we're going with something. i think that's why my open starters are so long lmao because i need to paint a clear picture of where it's going.

long or short replies : i like a short reply for when i'm trying to break out of a writer's block or, like right now, dusting off my writing cap. they almost always turn into much longer replies though. i can't stop myself. i want like 87 paragraphs and i have no chill.

time to write : has to be nighttime, babies. i have a pretty great couple hours like 8 nights a month where i can really get to writing. it's always after my kiddo goes to sleep and my spouse is working (unless we're like parallel playing and he's gaming or cooking or something, then i get a little more time).

are you like your muses : oh, there's definitely aspects of myself in most of my muses. or people i know. or i write muses to work through certain things (i.e. neve has a lot of job similarities/family history for working through some trauma, nadja has some old punk rock memories and sort of an amalgamation of old friends and my mom, miguel has sort of similar personality to my partner, etc.) i sort of just steal elements from myself or people i know and mold them together into someone new. but i don't think i share like an overall personality with any of them.

ok anyway since im massively unhinge at all times, i am participating in a little event @thescarletmansion because any time The Horrors appear i become stronger (a little less scared if it's done in the right doses lmao i take horror like wesker takes PG67A/W too much at a time will make me hit dissociation station) but for anyone who doesn't want to see the unhinged "man noclips through dimensions and then endures mansion incident Again" i will be tagging things with the tag #event ╱ mansion incident 2 because that is exactly what this is.

here's a fun fact- most of my time prior to coming here was spent in various anime fandoms, and one of the most recent was the overall pkmn fandom, so i have the knowledge to use the "Faller mechanic" to my advantage for the most chaotic AU i could possibly come up with- but thanks to kei and the others participating in this event, i know that The Horrors are free real estate here and i still can find ways to fit right in :)

year six of this post! (was an ask meme, now i just do it annually, even keeping the very silly "2k". if you want to do this, please consider yourself tagged!) looks like last year i said i thought 2022 would be less fic-heavy than 2021, and sure enough it has been. anyway, my top some-number favorite fics of mine this year, not in any particular order:

some say it's a blessing (OFMD) - jim/olu, t, 11k. this was a tremendously fun fic to write, and probably one of my favorites i've ever done. love to put a spin on a classic trope!

the gardens (D20: ACOFAF) - rue/hob, g, 2k. i absolutely adored "a court of fey and flowers", and it is always extremely fun to write dramatic romance dialogue.

right, so we're going to consider numbers 3-5 my original work this year, lmao. i sold the short story i've been tagging "#rhr curator", which is very exciting :):) and i'm cooking a few other things right now, including another rhr-verse short story, and (third time's the charm) the big central project of rhr.

pretty quiet year in terms of writing overall. but i'm definitely going to be doing fic for fatt and whatever else catches my eye in 2023... and crossing my fingers i'll be able to make progress on rhr again, lmao. so here's to that!

Honestly now that I think about it, the part that's the most striking about the scene where Grian finally tells Scar they're soulmates is the fact that Scar goes along with it at all.

Scar can see the dripstone and he knows what it does. Grian has led him into this exact position before with glib promises of safety on his lips and then killed him. The first thing Grian did to him in the last game was steal a life from him. As far as Scar knows, Grian is his opponent in this game and he has no qualms about killing people with traps long before his red life.

And yet Scar follows Grian willingly onto the target and does not try to get away, apparently content to let Grian hurt him if that's what Grian really wants to do. But of course he looks away at the pivotal moment, focusing instead on something soft and comforting. Who would want to look their best friend in the eye at a moment like that?

Hermitcraft's Season Nine combination of "creeping eldritch horror" and "Looney Tunes shenanigans" actually blends in an oddly pleasing way. Like, yes you could see a rock with a bloody flesh-geode inside, or a machine that eats worlds, or a library build on nothing inside an endless void, but you could also watch a guy splat himself like a bug against a bank vault door for ten minutes or watch someone drop an anvil from the sky onto their rival's sandcastle. What could be next?

Cleo's stream today is very funny, she has pointed out the obvious fact that she and Bdubs have had conversations about Twitter and Tumblr as far back as the trouble she had on Tumblr back in 2020 or so, and that Bdubs is very aware of the existence of internet content beyond what is tagged to his attention. She agreed wholeheartedly that him pretending he doesn't is very funny, though.

Now I've got the image in my head of Bdubs trolling Hermittwt the way a dad plays hide and seek with a little kid. "Oh NO! Is there something hiding BEHIND THE DOOR? Maybe I'll go over there and TAKE A LOOK! Or... is there something IN THE CUPBOARD?" and meanwhile the fandom is standing behind the curtains, making a visible fandom-shaped lump in the fabric and giggling loudly.

ok so you mentioned this in the tags of a post about ‘antecedent’ like 2 months ago but it has been living rent free in my brain ever since so i just gotta ask: is there anything you can tells us about antecedent-verse tomura?? not like when to expect it or anything big, but like…. do u have any crumbs to share? it’s totally cool if not—i’m just curious and excited about it!

I do indeed have a wip for antecedent-verse tomura!! in my google docs it is a rough draft but in my brain… I could talk about it all damn day. the only reason I’m reluctant to work on it is because I don’t know if I really want to keep it a reader insert. I’m not sure when I’ll ever get to it so I’m more than happy to share some info that isn’t too important to the overall plot:

he does essentially die. multiple times, actually, after his separation from AFO. while touya is arrested mostly conscious and receives treatment/skin grafts before being taken to a private corrections facility soon thereafter, tomura is in hospital for much much longer. the practice he ends up in is well affiliated with all might — who has essentially taken the reins in regards to tomura’s care while he’s incapacitated. initially a lot of it is seeking penance, and obligation born of his guilt surrounding nana’s death.

if kept an insert fic, the reader is his attending nurse. before and after he finally wakes, they are his new constant. he hates them. there’s a lifetime of shame and anger and embarrassment. they help him bathe and eat and move around so he doesn’t get bed sores, the works. the fic revolves around navigating his trauma, recovery, survivors guilt and suicidal ideation rather than the ‘romance’ aspect. that comes in a lot later, and only bleeds more angst into the storyline lmao. tomura has a lot of learning and living left to do. but he also has a lot of things to answer for, i.e murder and property damage and conspiracy and inciting terror and whatever other crimes he has committed. regardless of the fact that he was groomed to be that way, I don’t think he will escape punishment — whatever that may be.

deku will be a pretty prominent character, and there’s an important scene between him and tomura that I really do want to eventually share. actually I’m quite glad that I’m leaving it to simmer as the manga progresses, bc what I have written so far for them is already pretty on track!! but despite how the manga ends, I won’t be changing my current ending for him. like with touya, it would be a bittersweet conclusion. I do not plan to leave him unhappy!! I promise it’ll be hopeful in its own way, just… realistic, ig? as realistic as I can make it. the best case scenario at this point lol!!!

What is your favorite type of character? Any tropes you find irresistible? What kind of character design tickles your fancy?

i think it all depends on the genre i’m watching, but overall i love a character that is unlovable; because my mentally ill ass will find a way to love them!! villains/antagonists/unreliable narrators are my shit atm. like if a villain has a justified way of going against the protagonist, but the way they go about it is raw and brutal, i eat that up!!

i’m not-so versed on tropes tbh, when it comes to fanfic i let the readers decide what my stuff fits into; or for the sake of tags i’ll make something up and hope it’s a thing lmaoo. i’ve always been a fan of friends to lovers to enemies; like they fall in love with their childhood best friend but as stuff unravel the relationship strains. and when the showdown happens, there’s so much romantic or seggsual tension, and they both know if the other dies or gets hurt it will break them, but they’ve let their cause or philosophy get in the way. ugh,,, brilliant!!

character design,,, i use to go feral for any characters that were supernatural; but recently ive liked more realistic stuff. like if they just look like a normal bloke with some details like a colour scheme, glasses, haircut that stands out i love it (means it’s easier to cosplay too lmao). i rewatched uncut gems recently and forgot how much i love the character design for howard; the goatee, leather jacket, tinted glasses, yellow shirt for a pop of colour; he slayed!!
