what do they put into kpop that makes it so addicting? until the last couple of years i've always preferred much heavier, more aggressive music. and i still do, yet my favourite svt songs (and of other kpop groups i listen to) are mostly very upbeat and positive or just very obviously about love. i used to be so. idk disinterested in it both when it came to the music itself and the people who made and performed it, maybe even against giving it a fair try. but what came from a place of simply wanting to support my partner's new interest turned into me having a blog dedicated solely to genuine svt posting. what happened here.

(i’m just here to rant ab my personal life & be a giant classical music geek don’t mind me carry on)

i was just browsing my favorite cellist’s insta bc he posted on his story that he’s starting his north american tour this week (i looked into trying to get tickets months ago but none of the dates were even remotely near me) and then i wandered aimlessly over to his website to find out what the rest of the tour looks like (& see if i could convince my friend in cambridge to go to the london performance and facetime me in) and and and

long story short i almost choked on my dinner (roasted sweet potato + green beans + trader joe’s chicken sausage ty) because not only is he coming to chicago (a place i am very much within rational traveling distance of) next february, but also those specific chicago shows include performances of my absolute favorite piece of classical music ever (he doesn’t play it live super often but his recorded version of it has been in my spotify wrapped two years in a row i wish i was kidding)

so i impulse bought tickets of course (they’re really great seats too like omfg) even though i don’t know a soul that actually wants to go to the orchestra and see him with me. & now i’m planning a trip to chicago :D
