Oh gosh. Reading your post has my mind on a totally different tangent than cotton ceiling (my only thing is if a gay, lesbian, or straight person makes an exception for a trans person that's nobody's business in any community) but oh my gosh that was a rough read. My chest is tight and I'm reliving my own trauma and that just makes it all the more important to say. We need to emphasize so much more the importance of dialogue before, during, & after sex. Not just cute comics or ads but Q&A, video

explicitly in depth discussions especially towards how parents educate young men, how we can mitigate the damage media especially porn and romance don’t accurately represent romantic relationships. That you don’t want your sex modeled after porn, especially kink, especially if you and/or your partner is inexperiences. That no, stop, or slow down is not negotiable and that PIV can be painful and does not suddenly become pleasurable again because finding that out on your own can give you ptsd.

I want you to know that I’m sorry my post triggered you, but I can’t agree to what you’re saying here.

First of all, while the relationships people choose to have are not our business, the concept of “making an exception” is. I’ve dated and had consensual sex with men, I would be the last person to say that all “true” lesbians or gay men are goldstars and that nobody ever acts against their own orientation. But framing it as “making an exception” is harmful. Homosexuality does not make exceptions. You can’t turn your innate inability to be attracted to the opposite sex (or the same sex in the case of straight people, but they’re not the ones who are really being affected by this) off whenever it’s convenient or when you find someone special enough that they’re worth doing it for. If you are truly exclusively attracted to the same sex then acting against that is unnatural and damaging. I don’t believe we should spread the message that it’s impossible, we need to acknowledge that it actually happens before we can acknowledge that it hurts people. But we should never have any conversation about it that doesn’t make it abundantly clear, and in fact revolves around the fact that it’s a harmful thing and that nobody should do it. 

I used to believe that rapists simply needed education. And I guess on some level I still do, in some cases, or I wouldn’t have made a post trying to show people why cotton ceiling rhetoric is rapey and why that’s wrong. But I’ve also come to see the problems with viewing rape as an issue of ignorance rather than entitlement and apathy if not malice. Most rapists know what they’re doing. They might be too full of themselves to ever consider it to be rape, but they realise on some level that they’re breaching consent and that they’re hurting someone. They know, they just don’t care. 

And you know what, if proper education and communication gets rid of even 1% of rapes, or stops a bunch of “traumatising-but-not-quite-rape” situations, I’m all for it. But we need to stop jumping on “solutions” to a small fraction of the problem the very second we’ve started to discuss it. Not because I and everyone else who has the same stance on this don’t want to reduce the problem as much as humanly possible. But because this mindset often gets in the way of us seeing how big of a problem this (cotton ceiling in this case, but [male] sexual entitlement in general) truly is. As comforting as it would be, we can’t just dive into the mindset that this is a temporary problem and that it’s going to be gone soon. It’s never going to go away, not completely, probably not even the majority of it. That’s something we need to give ourselves time to take in and honestly, mourn over.

CyberDayze CyberDayze i usually blog first and then do fb pages and whatever I blogged gets used as a fb post later in the day but today i am going 2 do it differently i have 2 make a statement about the state of the united states with the ppl who r not able 2 write a sentence complete with capitalized words beginning the sentence with proper punctuation used and words spelled out completely instead of how r u which drives me crazy already i cant figure out how ppl dont capitalize i my iphone does it so i dont have 2 so feel free 2 tell me how they do it cause i want 2 no dont ppl c that this makes them look so uneducated and tends 2 make me not take them seriously i bet ppl would be more careful about how they write if they knew that their posts would be laughed at or looked down upon based on how they wrote it dont u think i was writing someones cyber story and he wrote this way and he is a multi published author i emailed him and told him that i dont mind adding to his stories to make them more interesting 2 read but plz dont make me have 2 do simple edits such as capitalization and punctuation i guess he wasnt able 2 do that 4 me because he kept writing his stories the same way 4 me and damnitalltohellalready i had 2 do all that simple but aggravating editing of his work and i questioned what his published books looked like when he turned them in 2 the publisher i couldnt imagine presenting something like that in fact the publisher of CyberDayze said my work was the cleanest they had ever seen my rounds of edits were due to having to get pics and links lined up under the correct sentence did that ever drive me crazy almost as much as how r u and no punctuation or capitalization which without me doing it in this post to make my point i am fighting the urge 2 go back and fixfixfix everything omg it just drives me nuts do u get my point with this post gg i hope u do i am just the messenger folks so listen up when i say ur writing looks so uneducated and silly when u do this so buck up and start writing correctly, folks.
