I thought I’d do a quick shout-out on Alec John Such, one of the original founding members of Bon Jovi who passed away at the young of 70. Although Bon Jovi was never my favorite band - I attended my first rock concert at the Kingdome in 1986 during the ‘Slippery When Wet Tour’. And I remember Cinderella opened. Alec John Such was a childhood friend of Bon Jovi drummer Tico Torres and knew Richie Sambora, their future guitarist, according to the band's statement. "Alec was always wild and full of life," the statement continues. "Today those special memories bring a smile to my face and a tear to my eye. We'll miss him dearly." Born in Yonkers, N.Y. in 1951, Such was a part of the New Jersey music scene as a manager at the Hunka Bunka Ballroom in Sayreville, where he booked Jon Bon Jovi and The Wild Ones. Bon Jovi was formed in 1983, and Such played bass for the band until 1994, when he was replaced by Hugh McDonald. Such reunited with the band for Bon Jovi's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2018. "When Jon Bon Jovi called me up and asked me to be in his band many years ago, I soon realized how serious he was and he had a vision that he wanted to bring us to," Such said during their induction. "And I am only too happy to have been a part of that vision." (At least Bon Jovi didn’t rob Such of that honor like another notable band did to their drummer). "Now, to my bandmates," he continued. "These guys are the best. I can get a little tear here so bear with me. We had so many great times together and we wouldn't be here if it wasn't for those guys. Love 'em to death. I always will." • • • • • • • —————————————————— #nehistripesseattle #bonjovi #alecjohnsuch #jonbonjovi #ticotorres #davidbryan #richiesambora #1980s #1990s #livingonaprayer #legends #newjersey #slipperywhenwet #legendsremembered #firstconcerts #kingdome (at Kingdome) https://www.instagram.com/p/Cee1rJXJSDe/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Miriam and Ariel got one Chanukah present early - in Dec 4th, the Maccabeats had a concert at the JCC, and the girls were *so excited* to see them in-person. #FirstConcert (at Stroum Jewish Community Center of Greater Seattle) https://www.instagram.com/p/Cm2mBTZPGyq/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

During #MyTimeInMedia, while attending my second ever “Upfront” event, I ended up being at my first ever @pitbull concert. Back then events could be big and beautiful. Hopefully those days return. These are from that event. Enjoy.

8 years ago, I would have been settling into my bed after seeing @taylorswift live in concert for the first time, making that Facebook status about how in awe I am of her and in love I am with her concerts.
I remember how excited I was (and the first time feeling excitement over the potential of something like the T Party), I had saved up, and I was FINALLY allowed to go to a concert!! It was absolutely amazing and she’s only exceeded my expectations every damn time since. I’m so lucky I’ve been able to attend her concerts every era since then, and I’m so lucky to have chosen to adore someone that puts on the most memorable shows 🥰
8 years later, nothing has changed ♥️

A Smile első fellépése / The first concert of Smile 🎤
– mesélte a későbbiekben Freddie.
**************************************************************************
Although Freddie's musical plans seemed to come to fruition, the situation in his private life was not settled. He was plagued by concerns and doubts about his sexual orientation. After breaking up with Rosemary, in 1970, he again had a girl named Mary Austin. Whatever the case, he couldn't decide whether he was straight, gay, or bisexual. It was particularly difficult for a man whose education was so rigorous and whose parents lived their lives according to the teachings of the Parsee religion, which made homosexuality almost demon-worshiping.
But in the midst of his psychical anguish, the members of Smile worked hard and then the rehersal period ended. Freddie was enthusiastic about picking out the outfits he had chosen, and with three other band members and two assistants (John Harries, Pete Edmund), headed to Cornwall for their first ever Smile concert. The show took place on June 27, 1970, in Truro, the town hall there, attended by just under two hundred. The band members wore black attire consisting of black velvet pants, a black T-shirt, high heeled boots and lots of silver jewelry.
Smile opened the concert with their song "Stone Cold Crazy". “In the beginning we wore all the black on the stage. We were very daring, darling. Then came some white, for the sake of variety, and there was no stopping there. "Stone Cold Crazy” was the first Queen song we ever played in front of an audience." - Freddie said later. One local newspaper published the following critique of the guys after the first show: "Four strange young men in silk and too much jewelry wore so much clutter that the deads awakened in Cornwall." Freddie had a rush of energy after the concert and on his way home, his mouth couldn’t shut. “He invested a lot in that first concert. I remember bouncing back and forth, walking up and down, and a bit like Mick Jagger, but he did it a Freddie.” - Grose recalled.

LE RESERVOIR, PARIS, Tribute message. 🇺🇸~ Le Reservoir is a mythical concert hall in the heart of the historical streets of Paris... I took my baby steps there for my first solo concert on March 9th 2005. I can remember it as if it was yesterday. The pictures help too :p Last Friday, another fire in Paris burnt down the place. Thankfully there was no casualty. IS PARIS BURNING was a well known movie by René Clément, co-written by Francis Ford Coppola among other screenwriters, it is about Paris, and the end of WWII, and it is now a question burning my thoughts... I know that the place will rebuild... and like Notre Dame, maybe it was calling for a new dress... a change... Sending my best thoughts to the Reservoir team and the building inhabitants. J’envoie mes plus belles pensées à l’équipe du Réservoir et aux habitants de l’immeuble 🙏🏻 Photos Tito @tito_photography Pamela Shandel Invitation by @Momo #theartist Concert at Le Réservoir, PARIS March 9th 2005 Musical direction by Christopher Board with a super fun and rock n’ roll band including Yann Péchin :)...
