Chapter 4: The Goddess’s Rite of Rebirth

Summary:

In the aftermath of the Black Eagles’ mission to quell the rebellion at Magdred Way, an alarming note is found on Lord Lonato’s corpse. There’s an assassination plot against the archbishop, but something doesn’t seem right...

Excerpt:

Byleth addressed Catherine. “We have almost a full moon until the Rite of Rebirth. Dad and I will see what we can do with what we have — maybe we can pull in some extra knights from nearby. Meanwhile, can you put the Knights on alert for their new mission? Tell them to report anything they find to Shamir.”

“You got it.”

Byleth followed Catherine out of the chamber to fill Dad in on the news. He wouldn’t be happy about not having been there to see the note himself, but that’s why he had Byleth to be his extra pair of eyes, ears, and hands.

Something didn’t sit right with her about that note. It was awful convenient that Lord Lonato just happened to be carrying a note with important information about an assassination plot against the archbishop when he chose to go to battle against the Knights of Seiros. Especially considering that it was Lord Lonato — a man who, up until very recently, had been nothing but cooperative with the church, if not devout. His sudden alliance with the Western faction was concerning. Or had his previous loyalty all been an act? She would have to keep an eye on his ward, Ashe Ubert. Could he know anything about the plot? Could he be acting as their man on the inside?

She would ask Shamir to keep an eye on the kid.

So I’m on the Dimitri route now. As soon as I found out that Edelgard and Dimitri are siblings and figured out the type of relationship they had I was like: “oh boy this is gonna be sad”. So basically every house you pick will be sad. Also I’ve only known Dedue for 2 days and if anything happened to him I would kill myself and then everyone in the room.
