Finished my Magic of Spring Mitts by Monika Anna. The pattern has easy construction, everything is well explained. A small amount of float catching is needed.

I used Drops Flora in Naturel, Green, Strawberry Pink, and Jeans.

I made gloves :> I used old socks & a dollar store sewing kit :>

I took long socks cut a hole in the heel for my thumb, cut off the toes, cut slits to make individual finger bits, sewed up the fingers, then I cut some parts off the toe bits to make the thumb holes bigger :>

I wanna embroider shit on it but I dont think I have a needle big enough for the thread

My first fill for @marveltrumpshate 2023 is done! @hannahshattuck was the high bidder for my fingerless gloves and asked for the Iron Man version. :) they are finished and on their way to her as we speak.

Reversible granny square mitts for my lovely friend Kelda!!

I’ve loved doing these granny squares using the same colours in a different order - the effect is so cute and funky :DD And it was the perfect thing to use up the last of this gorgeous variegated yarn which originally went into these socks. Feels so good to use up a pretty little scrap !!

Pattern: This pattern is fairly simple so I’m not sure where I first saw it - it’s just two granny squares sewn together with some ribbing at each end and at the thumb hole :oo

Yarn: all scrap DK except the multicoloured yellow-green, which is ‘A New Dawn’ 100% SW Merino DK from Woollen Wytch

While I am waiting for the potatoes to come to a boil and get smash-able, here are photos of what I made for my kids this year (besides gifting them other things).

For my son, I knit a hat:

Cascade 220 Superwash, size 6 needle, 2x2 rib and then double seed stitch.

For his girlfriend, I knit fingerless mitts:

Cascade 220 Superwash, size 6 needle, double seed stitch. I had intended to knit something else for her, but that yarn didn’t want to cooperate and I was running out of time…!

(Cascade 220 Superwash is the yarn I had so much hassle with - it kept fraying. So many tails sewn in on one of those mitts.)

And speaking of “the yarn didn’t want to cooperate and I was running out of time,” here is what I crocheted for my daughter:

Caron Simply Soft, size H hook, hdc. Took up almost the whole skein.
