Can't believe it took me this long to realize that the chorus of Find Your Flame is Sonic singing to Tails

Will the whole world know your name

When we dance with destiny?

He's not telling the Knight that the whole world is gonna know its name and that he believes in it to find its flame, he's telling Tails because Tails just told Sonic that he wants to go off on his own and make a name for himself in the world

wait actually i'm posting this. infinite's theme and find your flame are direct parallels

like. gestures to this entire thing LOOK!!!

the meanings of the songs are obviously different, infinite's theme is like "we're alone and you're going to lose" whereas find your flame is more "i'm with my friends and we're going to win" so there's that alone vs together thing

and then of course we have infinite himself who wants to destroy the world and he uses a phantom sun at one point. and sonic fights the end (a "moon") (which wants to destroy the world) while he's super (when he's bright and burning like the sun) like do you SEE!!!! sun and moon. am i making sense

not to mention the phantom ruby's power looks similar to cyberspace, red glitches and all. listen i'm not insane about this (i am)

i am almost definitely grasping at straws but like. you see it right. there's parallels here

Holy shit. Ive been working on this on and off for MONTHS. ive restarted, resketched rewhatevered, and i just COULDNT get it to a spot im happy with.. But ive finally got that now, my marbelling technique and foreshortening skills are good enough for this. So colours are influenced by frontiers and the song titles are in the bg, the pose is also from a frontiers screenshot which is why its frontiers art specifically(i believe photo mode pic is by Channel Pup? idk tho oops). It also wasnt intentional but the shoe reminds me of the Black Knight Eastern cover art which is dope, idk what to say here really but if u want me to explain how i did certain things or even just pester me about frontiers, leave a comment, and until nextime ladies, lads and lovely nb's:

I'm sure a dozen other people have pointed this out but I haven't seen it come up in conversation much so I'll reiterate: each of the boss themes in Frontiers apply to Sonic, the boss, and the other ally on that island simultaneously.

I'm Here works for both Sonic and Sage, as well as the pressure that Supreme's pilot was going through before they died, both playing up Sonic's determination and foreshadowing how Sage will step up as the new pilot but ultimately die to protect the others.

I rambled about the rest on Discord a while ago so here's that mess:

Honestly, my Spotify Wrapped was not at all surprising. The entire soundtrack was a banger from start to finish and has consumed by brain like a brain eating amoeba along with the rest of this game. All the more wonderful considering this year wasn't the best and filled with stress for the future. I just want to say thank you to @sonicthehedgehog and especially to SEGA Sound Team for helping me get through the year and for making me feel undefeatable just like you did all the way back in 2008. i made this like really quick after playing frontiers and there was just like. one bit that sounded extra bad and i never got around to making it sound semi-reasonable it till just now. in the intervening time probably a lot of other people have made much better ones but whatever

this is less for the purpose of "actual remix/mashup" and more just made for the sake of comparing the two songs, like the loud bits vs. quiet bits, a few bits where the lyrics line up well ("will the whole world know your name"/"wont stop until they know my name" that sorta thing)

original idea came because when playing this boss i thought "huh this sound kinda like infinite" then i looked at the wiki and the trivia mentioning the similarities validated me (thank u sonic wiki)
