Just the fact alone that you know they are gonna drop all the marichat into one episode is really telling. Be honest, would you be happy if it was in one episode? You know, really cramed in and rushed? You wouldn’t think it would be done a disservice?
Craming fanservice into one episode is just atrocious story telling.
I mean, honestly, it’s what they’ve being doing since the beginning. So I do not expect miraculous to develop marichat in a deep nor slow burn way yk? They’ll keep going for that formula because it works. Thomas has made it very clear that marichat isn’t his favorite side of the love square and although i did have some problems with that, with the passing of time, I’ve learnt to accept it. Being honest, it really bothered and made me sad for a long time but, i’ve learnt to work with what they give us, and if that is only one episode per season full of fan service focused mainly on them? then that’s more than welcomed. I know it’s not perfect and I would love marichat having that slow burn development we’ve all read on ficsm but realistically that isn’t going to happen. At least, for the moment. I would love to see marichat coming into the spotlight and having as much importance and screentime as the main ships. But the chances of thar happening are really low and sadly, that’s just the life of ships that weren’t supposed to be as popular as they ended up being. They’ll give us that marichat trademark episode and that’s it.
I know that this is a really pessimistic outlook, so let me bring more positivity to the table lol. Hopefully with the incorporation of the reversed love-square, we will get a more fleshed out marichat and some actual development for them. All we can do is hope. Either way, if we do not get that, the fact that marichat has grown as much as it did since the show began, and has achieved such a loyal fanbase is something that can’t be erased and for me, that is the most important part.

ok so i have a feeling ur character would have a rlly cute animal companion (probbly a cat!) and then the fandom would love to draw the animal companion with u ,,, :3 ur character is rlly sweet n kind and bubbly n caring n epic and so u r a fan favorite even tho sometimes ur character gets sidelined by the show n u r more of a support character the fandom rlly loves givin u cute hcs and hurt/comfort ficsm.... the el ge bee tee community rlly big fan of ur character n then theres the occassional person whos just not a big fan because like canon poc character who is ND n they r like ">:0 whaaat!!!?!?" but most of the fandom is Nd anyway so they r like hehe comfort character time to make hcs and project... n like yeah ur character is so beloved :33 ppl will be like draw u in cute pastel clothes me thinks,,,, yeaah uuwu

For the sake of analysis I was comparing Lena metas/fics against Kylo's and Lex Luthor (Smallville) metas/fics and I'm... Worried. First and foremost, most of the shippers aka Lena worshipers have no criticism to make towards the character in spite of her many flaws. Nothing bad she does is acknowledged or pointed in metas or discussions, and she gets chances where no sensible person should give her one (+)
(2). Compared to fics or metas of other bad characters who had redemption arcs, you actually see that people are acknowledging their wrong doings and pointing it out what they could do better, and more importantly, admitting that some relationships could be toxic/abusive. Ironically, she gets far more chances because she's a woman, but the truth of the matter is that she got things handed to her throughout all her life.
She never had to actually work for it, and so far she has shown no sign of comprehending that Kara didn't owe her that particular truth, and her fans don't seem to understand that everything she does consists of causing guilt and misery upon Kara while feeling justified. This sets a precedent to the real world, because just because someone lied or kept a secret, they'd feel justified into torture and murder due to it.

-They love to say they know Lobotomizer is not a saint and she made some mistakes but there is always BUT (hurt, blinded by feelings, abused by her family, she wanted to save the planet blah blah). Basically Lobotomizer did something wrong, but she had a point. Like, last time I checked evry white suprematist who murdered people also HAD a point (in his fucked up brain a good one) and was hurt so.... give me a break with this excusing horrible white privileged characters that never paid for their actions. If you can’t call out and make them pay in fucking FICTION then there is a PROBLEM
-I don’r read their ficsm, but from what I got from the their description it’s usually Lena is uwu party. But I DON’T READ THEM and would rather keep that, but I’m sure the are excelent fics hat approach these problems and don’t treat Kara as villain and Lobotomizer as the best shit on the universe :))))
-From what I’m getting from her fans, it’s like she STILL doesn’t get she really did something wrong and they don’t get that too. I mean, do tehy really think that the proper apprach to your friends not telling you secrets is manipualating them for months and planning revenge? And hurting them every way possible? This is not friendship. This is ot how you treat your friends, but your enemies.
But this is the problem thye refuse to see: SC was never a good friendship, it was always super superficial. Basically Kara felt sorry for Lobotomizer, but has never trusted her enough to tell her secret. She finally told her, because Kara felt guilty. Not because she wanted.
And the best thing is? She was right to not trust the bitch.
