Fiberfic: A Multifandom Fibercraft Writing Event

How it works

Starting on April 18th and going until April 24th, write a fic for any or all of the seven prompts, then post it on tumblr using the tag #fiberfic.

Can this be for any fandom?

Yes!  All fandoms, characters, and ships are allowed.

Is there a required word count?

Fics must be over 500 words.  There is no upper word limit.

Can this be about any craft?

The prompts were created with yarn-based crafts in mind, but any fiber-based craft (e.g. sewing, cross-stitch, embroider, macramé) are allowed.

How closely do I need to interpret the prompt?

The prompt is just there to get you started!  As long as the fic is about fibercraft, you’re good.

Does my fic need to be in English?

No, fics can be any language.

Does my fic have to be posted on the corresponding day?

No, all fics will be accepted any time from April 18th to the 24th.

Knit Wars by Phlebas

My entry for Fiberfic.

Summary: Tobirama is not Madara’s type. There is nothing attractive about him and you’ll never get him to admit otherwise. (Not. Ever.)

Rating: Mature (mostly for swearing and a little bit of making out) Fandom: Naruto Relationship: Main pairing is Senju Tobirama/Uchiha Madara. The peripheral pairings are Senju Touka/Uchiha Izuna and Senju Hashirama/Uzumaki Mito. They are mostly off screen and really only alluded to. Word Count: 8,775

Tobirama stares at the stack of patient intake forms in horror.

Right at the top of the pile, in big bold letters, is a folder that says 'UCHIHA MADARA'.

No, this is not right. He cannot do this. This is Izuna's idea of a prank and it is Not Happening.

He slams into his partner’s office, and flings the file onto the desk. "Izuna. What is this."

Izuna looks up from his computer. "Paperwork?"

Tobirama jabs his finger at the label. "This. Explain this."

Izuna has the gall to look innocent. "Nii-san needs an eye check up and I can't do it. He's been refusing to come in until I guilted him into it last night and I'm not letting him wriggle out of it again. You know he needs glasses."

Tobirama feels his whole face colour with a blush. Oh yes, he most certainly knows that Madara needs glasses, and for more than one reason.

Senju Sauropods

Summary: Hashirama is not your usual dinosaur. He makes a friend. (Story told in Omake and script style.)

So, Good_Grief posted a single line on my server: “Yo. Founders but they’re dinos.” That started a discussion of exactly which species of dinosaur everyone would be, and then Good_Grief said the fateful line, “Yeah. Sorry, I can’t see madara as anything by the comet.”

I’d been looking at pictures of Comet NEOWISE earlier that day, and that was it for my brain. I had to write it.

So this story is dedicated to Good_Grief and Comet NEOWISE. May all your wishes come true.

Note that this is very much crack. Do not take it seriously.

Warning for Major Character Death because dinosaurs do not live as long as comets.

Once upon a time, there was a herd of sauropods.

They lived peacefully, mostly unthreatened by predators, and dedicated their lives to protecting their young, finding the tastiest plants, and doing nothing in particular.

The largest dinosaur in their herd was a giant named Hashirama.

And then, one day, a giant bright star bloomed in their sky and everything changed for them forever…

Warning for monster fucking.

Itachi has been partnered with Kisame for years, and he thinks that he's gotten to know Samehada fairly well over that time. However, he's never seen the sword like this.

Samehada's always been something of an unpredictable factor in his own plans, and he's never been quite sure what to make of it. He doesn't even know how intelligent Samehada is.

There's clearly a personality there, for Samehada has preferences on all sorts of things from the important to the mundane. It likes some people more than others, it has a taste for the chakra of certain people, and Kisame even occasionally orders food for it when they visit a yatai.

Though Itachi is honestly not sure how much of that last one is actually true, and how much of it is simply Kisame's sense of humour at work. For all that his partner likes to play down his own intelligence, there's a sharp mind and a quick wit there. Letting himself be seen as silly enough to talk to his sword and thus be underestimated is exactly the kind of thing Kisame would do.

This is not something that he has ever seen before however.
