My AEW Revolution 2024 Predictions
I am so excited for this ppv and I have to much energy on myself so, deal with it
Tumblr media
Tornado Tag Match Sting's Last Match - Darby Allin & Sting (AEW Tag Team Champions) VS Golf Trainers- oh sorry- AEW EVP'S Matthew & Nicholas Jackson
Let's start with the cherry on the top, I am so ready to cry on this match, even knowing that most likely Sting will appear again on AEW but not wrestling again
But for sure, 100% that the not Young Bucks anymore will win this match - I mean if its Sting's last match will Darby defend both belts alone?? I mean he is capable of it. but come on, one last match of this amazing tag team against the non Young Bucks is the perfect finish for this era
AEW WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP - Samoa Joe (C) VS Swerve Strickland VS Hangman Adam Page
Everyone is imagining that it will Swerve versus Hangman and Samoa Joe will be like third wheeling or something like that
this one will be pretty intense both men fighting for the gold and Samoa Joe defending it
I really want Swerve to win it but I think Samoa Joe will retain it, I mean it's the first ppv that he defends it
AEW WOMEN'S WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP - "Timeless" Toni Storm (C) VS Deonna Purrazo
Besides the Zero Hour one with Kris and Willow versus Julia Hart and Skye Blue, this is the only women´s match on the ppv..........come on AEW, your women's division is so freaking powerful and you still don´t know how to properly promoted, and we are on the International Women's month, come on......
I think Deonna Purrazo will win it for sure, but if Toni retains it I am so excited to see how this feud will keep going, because this feud was so well played, I am more than seated for this match
AEW INTERNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP - Orange Cassidy (C) VS Roderick Strong
It has to be Orange Cassidy, if it isn´t I will shave my eyebrows
Roderick Strong is being too annoying for Orange it has to be our denim and thumbs up man
AEW CONTINENTAL CROWN CHAMPIONSHIP - Eddie Kingston (C) VS Bryan Danielson
I am a bit uncertain with this one, but I think Eddie will retain it
and what an hell of a match this will be
Will Ospreay VS Konosuke Takeshita
another one that I am have no clue too who might win
but I guess Will Ospreay
TNT CHAMPIONSHIP - (Pro Pokemon Hunter) Christian Cage (C) VS Daniel Garcia
I am so excited for this one
But still for how much I would like to see Daniel with the gold, I am 100% sure that the Patriarchy will mess with this match
But its more than time for Daniel to be a champion (again)
FTR VS Jon Moxley & Claudio Castagnoli
I am also unsure about this one, just to be different
But I think Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli will win it
ALL STAR 8-MAN SCRAMBLE - Dante Martin VS HOOK (FTW Champion) VS Brian Cage VS Magnus VS Chris Jericho VS Powerhouse Hobbs VS Brian Cage VS Wardlow
yes I am pretty HOOK biased but I dont think he will win this one, even tho I am an huge fan of this fighting big dudes agenda
also 2/5 of the Lads fighting each other
also 3/5 of Team Taz fighting each other
I think it will be more between Hobbs and Wardlow for sure, after yesterday's Collision
Zero Hour: Kris Statlander & Willow Nightingale VS Julia Hart (TBS Champion) & Skye Blue
I am so excited for this one!!!
I think it will be Kris and Willow, in my mind if it Julia and Skye Blue, I think Willow will possibly turn on Kris idk why
Zero Hour: 12 MAN TAG MATCH - Bang Bang Scissor Gang VS Jeff Jarrett, Jay Lethal, Satnam Singh, Private Party & Willie Mack
Come on it has to be Bang Bang Scissor Gang because they are Bang Bang Scissor Gang!!!!!!!!!
Tumblr media
Anyway, what do you guys think?? Pls talk to me-

FUCK I ALMOST FORGOT. DoN PREDICTIONS !!! ROLL OUT !!!
think will win / want to win thunder rosa vs. deonna purrazzo - feud for the ages btw. deserved a spot on the main card but WHATEVER. i hope thunder rosa scalps her !! thank you !! gates of agony vs. the acclaimed - the acclaimed needa go i'm sorry !! pack it up and set anthony bowens loose orange cassidy vs. trent beretta - count ur days trent. thats all i gotta say jon moxley vs. konosuke takeshita - i love mox i Really do but like. takeshita winning this and getting a match at forbidden door is all i have on my mind i'm afraid. also he deserves some gold and i'm sick of him not having a SINGLE belt so. biased? yes! bang bang gang vs. death triangle (!!!) - i just realized bang bang gang's abbreviation is BBG. theyre babygirl confirmed? anyways. i want death triangle to win but !! they just got back i don't see it happening !! sucks. rematch on the horizon i feel it in my balls hook vs. shibata vs. j*richo - i feel like hook could go for Bigger or Greater shots !! he needs to drop the nepo baby act and get UP BRO !! shibata deserves the belt but this is like. jericho's first ppv title defense. sooo based on that alone, hes probably retaining ?? but shibata needs to beat the DOGSHIT out of him at least. i want guts in the ring ASAP BIG COPE vs. malakai "carrie white" black - i honestly don't care who wins this because both outcomes kinda smack ?? like adam in HoB would be WEIRD but it'd be FUN okay. i lowkey want adam to drop the belt to daniel garcia tho .. i just hope they both bleed ( ◡‿◡ )
roderick strong vs. will ospreay - no notes. rest in peace roderick strong. toni storm vs. serena deeb - serena deeb will pay for her crimes on ppv !!! i still can't get over how shes a great wrestler but shes so fucking irritating its not even funny ?? toni please beat her ass for ME !! the elite vs. team aew - okay this is a tricky prediction because What !! given the feud kinda just started its unpredictable to me but. yknow !! the elite aren't really heels theyre just guys. with money.. okay so evil. anyways. want the team aew win because i wanna see darby and bryan celebrate together ftr can jerk off backstage idgaf WILLOW MUTHAFUCKIN NIGHTINGALE vs. MERCEDES MUTHAFUCKIN MONÉ - another tricky one !!! mercedes deserves her debut win but willow is THEEEEE face of tbs. i just wouldn't go on twitter after this match cuz. phew !! okay !! if mercedes loses this match, a DEBUT match nonetheless, aew will never hear the end of it. i feel like it'll be a time limit situation .. i'm hoping to preserve my mental state
swerve strickland vs. christian cage - i am SOOO fucking hyped for this match okay i might be biased but at least i'm biased about the right thing !!! he's going to kill that old man rest in peace (again) christian cage. xoxo. no more notes

Here are some of the interesting things from the Dax podcast that were not about the backstage drama:
Dax loved the Punk/Hardy feud
By Dax’s estimate 9 out of 10 matches are rehearsed in the back
FTR called the matches against Punk/Sting/Darby and Punk/Mox in the ring*
Dax was proud that Sting and Punk trusted FTR to call the match and “take care of them”
Punk pitched the Punk/Sting/Darby vs FTR/Max match, because they were in the Greensboro Coliseum, where Sting wrestled Ric Flair on the first-ever Clash of the Champions (possibly also to make his dream of teaming with Sting come true)
It hadn’t been decided until the night of the match whether Punk would be teaming with Moxley or Bryan Danielson
Dax thinks FTR vs MoxPunk was great because it was four unselfish guys trying to outsell each other
Moxley doesn’t say much backstage and hardly ever puts anyone over but he praised that match a lot
Punk got all of them including Aubrey together for a post match picture because he loved the match so much. In the photo Dax is sitting on the doctor’s table because he thought he’d busted a ball during the match
Dax loved working with Mox and politicked hard to get to work with him again by the end of 2022 (but circumstances... got in the way)
Punk wasn’t supposed to wrestle as much as he did, he had a limited number of matches planned, but he just really wanted to wrestle more
At the end of 2021 Dax had a bit of a falling out with Max (MJF) but they made up
Dax and Bobby Fish got into a shoot fight live on stage on Dynamite but they made up
Regarding Fish kicking out of the GTS, Dax thinks giving someone an iggy during the pin is a “thank you for the match” and not a sign to kick out at three (no further comments from him)
Dax vs Punk was decided on the same day when they ran into each other at Starbucks and Punk asked Dax if he was doing anything tonight and then got the match booked
Dax wanted to tap out to the Anaconda Vise because he loves the drama of tapping out. Dax also thinks people who believe faces should never tap out have never been in a real fight**
Dax and Punk were backstage at a Dark show once, and gave advice to everyone who asked (Dax is proud that more people asked him but he admits it might be because some were intimidated by Punk)
Bret Hart texted Dax about the matches Dax had with Claudio Castagnoli and Bryan Danielson, saying that he loved them - and telling him how he thought they could have been improved
Dax thinks it doesn’t matter who wins or loses except when you keep on losing on TV fans stop believing in you
FTR turned babyface because people respected them too much to boo them and they were stuck in a situation where they got no reaction
* typically, the heel calls the match, or the more experienced wrestler
** I think it’s Vince McMahon who had strong opinions about faces never tapping out because the hero shall never give up

Thoughts on the AEW Revolution 2024 card:
The Young Bucks vs Sting and Darby Allin - I will be genuinely surprised if Sting and Darby win this match. I can see a reason to have them win and just have them relinquish the belts on Dynamite or something, but there would be no better way for the Bucks to cement themselves as Terrible People than by fucking on Sting and getting the belts.
Orange Cassidy vs Roderick Strong. While I have been enjoying OC as the Enternal International Champion, I think Roddy needs to win this to help legitimate Undisputed Kingdom as an actual faction to care about. I maintain some of the issues with the credibility of the group will be reduced once Adam Cole is able to actually go out there and do more than sit.
Samoa Joe vs Hangman Adam Page vs Swerve Strickland. It will suck if Hangman is unable to actually be there for the match (since reports are that there's some sort of "personal issue" that may impact this, which is why they did the foot thing). That said, regardless, I feel like Joe should retain. If it's all three of them, it perfectly sets up HangMAD being too caught up in trying keep Swerve from winning that he ends up also not winning.
Toni Storm vs Deonna Purrazzo. This match will probably be great. Deonna is great. Toni is great. I feel like the most likely outcome is some sort of fucky finish that allows Toni to retain. Although I wouldn't be surprised if it backfires and Deonna wins-- since that could feasibly set up a Toni/Mariah feud.
Eddie Kingston vs Bryan Danielson. I want Eddie to win. I always want Eddie to win. I think there's a solid case to be made for Bryan winning. However, I also think that Bryan's apparent refusal allow himself to be booked to win a title, and how hard he's going with the "Eddie is a bum and I don't respect him" lines, also makes a solid case for Eddie retaining. Undoubtedly, Eddie will have to lose the belts at some point, but I'm not sure that this is the best time. Plus, it would complete the story (lol) of Eddie earning the respect of Blackpool Combat Club (or re-earning, in the case of Mox).
Will Ospreay vs Konosuke Takeshita. Bruv I don't even care who wins. This match is gonna fuck.
Christian Cage vs Daniel Garcia. I *want* DG to win. Dude deserves having the belt. He's a former ROH Pure champ. He's great in the ring. People enjoy him. I legitimately don't think losing would hurt Christian from a fan perspective. The man can still be a reprehensible POS without the belt.
Wardlow vs Powerhouse Hobbs vs Lance Archer. A "Meat Madness" match. lmao. This is obviously just a big hoss shitpost match, but I think it'll be fun.
FTR vs Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli. Wheeler has his pending trial in May from where he allegedly brandished a gun at someone on the highway (wtf man, settle the hell down) so I don't know exactly how that's going to factor in with any potential booking. Both FTR and Mox are booked in ways that keep them pretty protected (Mox has only been pinned clean what, like, maybe 4 times the entire time he's been in AEW? And one of those was when he was accidentally concussed.) so it'll be really interesting to see where this goes. I can see a case for either side winning, but I would speculate that if BCC loses, it would probably be Claudio eating the loss (or it'll be some kind of DQ).

AEW Dynasty 2024 Predictions
Here are my last-minute AEW Dynasty predictions:
Overall:
It will be an excellent ppv – AEW rarely disappoints on this.
Pre-Show:
AEW/ROH Trios Championship Title Unification: The Acclaimed Vs the Bang Bang Gang (Bullet Club Gold)
I think the Acclaimed will win but I’m rooting for the Bang Bang Gang.
Trent Beretta Vs Matt Sydal: Trent wins. It wouldn’t make sense to have Trent lose while building the feud with Orange Cassidy. The real question is if Chuck Taylor will be ringside for either Trent or OC’s matches.
Orange Cassidy / Shibata Vs. Shane Taylor / Lee Moriarty: OC and Shibata win unless interference from his former Best Friends cost them the match.
The Show:
Bryan Danielson vs Will Ospreay: Tough call. Bryan has repeatedly put over younger talent so an Ospreay victory seems certain. However, they are clearly building a Blackpool Combat Club vs Don Callis Family feud, which will result in Ospreay leaving the Callis family. Hard call but I’m leaning towards an Ospreay victory due to shenanigans by Don Callis. I expect (hope)for appearances by the BCC and the Callis family. I doubt Khan has Moxley in the building and he doesn’t make an appearance for the entire pay-per-view. And I gave AEW the $50 so can I please have Claudio on the show?
Julia Hart vs Willow Nightingale for the TBS Championship: Willow wins. Julia is injured and Willow’s victory will further her story win Mercedes Mone. The only question is if Mercedes makes an appearance.
Samoa Joe vs Swerve Strickland for the AEW World Championship: I love Samoa Joe but whose house? Swerve’s house!
Toni Storm vs Thunder Rosa for the AEW World Women’s Championship: Toni all the way.
Adam Copeland/Eddie Kingston/Mark Briscoe vs the House of Black: Hard call. I’m going with the House of Black because they need some wins.
Okada vs PAC for the Continental Championship: I love both men but Okada wins. It’s simply too early for him to suffer a defeat.
The Young Bucks vs FTR for the AEW World Tag Team Championships: The Bucks take the win with the assist of a returning Jack Perry.
Roderick Strong vs Kyle O’Reily for the International Championship: It seems too soon for Roderick to lose the title but they’ve been building Kyle so a defeat would be odd so…Kyle?
Hook vs Chris Jericho for the FTW Championship: Unfortunately, it seems like this feud will continue after Dynasty so a Jericho win seems likely.
Final Thoughts:
AEW’s roster is insanely stacked. Even if you subtract the wrestlers on the injured list (Kenny Omega, Adam Cole, MJF, Britt Baker, Jaime Hayter, etc) you still have notable wrestlers (Claudio Castagnolli, Jon Moxley, Adam Page, Kris Statlander, Mariah May, etc) without an advertised match/role on the card. Crazy!
Enjoy the pay per view!

AEW FULL GEAR 2023 PREDICTIONS
Tumblr media
Full Gear is shaping up to be a decent card, but I’m hoping we get resolutions to some nagging issues I’ve been having with AEW as of late.
MJF and TBA vs. The Gunns - ROH World Tag Team Championship
The Ring of Honor titles on AEW TV has done nothing but cause a distraction. Most of the titles are now back on ROH, and I think the tag belts will follow. The only other angle they could do is, Samoa Joe and MJF team to win. Now both men are tied together with these belts. I can see this working, but I can also see Jay White getting involved in a screwy finish. I’ll with The Gunns for the victory.
Hikaru Shida vs. "Timeless" Toni Storm - AEW Women's World Championship
Hikari Shida reign as been lackluster. No fault of Shida by the way. AEW women’s wrestling can go from hot to cold within a week. The lack of consistency and focus on the division is frustrating as a fan. I just don’t know how Shida comes out with the win when Toni Storm’s new gimmick is so over. It makes sense to strike while the iron is hot. Timeless gets the win.
Sting, Darby Allin, and Adam Copeland vs. Christian Cage, Luchasaurus, and Nick Wayne
This match is going to be a blast. I’m going all in with Adam Copeland going heel, thus causing Darby Allin and Sting to lose. Then they could do an Adam & Christan vs. Sting & Darby at Worlds End. It’s a risky prediction, but I’m sticking to it.
Orange Cassidy vs. Jon Moxley – International Championship
This past week on Dynamite we saw that the orange punch barely fazing Jon Moxley. If Orange Cassidy wasn’t the underdog already, he’s definitely walking in as one. The story is that the odds are stacked against Orange, which is why I’m giving him the win that he needs. Moxley should walk out with a newfound respect for Orange.
The Golden Jets vs. The Young Bucks
The stipulation is simple; if The Young Bucks lose, then The Golden Jets (awful name) will obtain the Bucks number one contender spot for the AEW World Tag Team Championship. If the Jackson boys win, then Jericho and Omega must disband as a tag team. I’m giving the win to Kenny and Chris. The Golden Jets will then go on to win the belts from Big Bill and Ricky Starks and then the feud with The Young Buck - who are already pissed off due to the loss from Full Gear - will continue.
Ricky Starks and Big Bill vs. La Facción Ingobernable vs. FTR vs. Kings of The Black Throne - AEW World Tag Team Championship
Ricky Starks and Big Bill as tag team champions has been boring. I must keep reminding myself that they have the belts, which is a bad sign for the division. I don’t see LFI winning as it’s early days for them. FTR don’t need the belts, and Kings of The Black Throne just haven’t been built to take those belts. I believe Starks and Bill will retain, and as mentioned, they will drop the belts to The Golden Jets…unless The Young Bucks win their match and FTR wins this one, and we get another match with both teams…please, let’s not do this match again.
"Hangman" Adam Page vs. Swerve Strickland - Texas Death Match
This is easily one of the best feuds of the year. Both men are telling a fantastic story where the drama keeps building each week. This is going to be a bloody and vicious fight. I’ve heard many people say that Serve Strickland needs to win this match, but he doesn’t because this is not your typical match, it’s a fight that has stemmed from a man breaking into another man’s house and threatening a baby. Adam Page needs to win to show he can defend his family. At the end of the day, both men will come out of this match looking great.
Kris Statlander  vs. Julia Hart vs. Skye Blue -  AEW TBS Championship
Who is Kris Statlander? She was an alien, but she dropped the gimmick, so who she is now? I don’t know. AEW has failed to explore her character. With no clear direction, she’s just been standing between to Skye Blue (whose had development as a character) and Willow Nightengale looking confused. Like Toni Storm, Julia Hart has been connecting with the audience. I think the belt will be going on Hart because it’s not doing anything for Statlander. I feel Blue still has some time to go before getting any gold.
MJF vs. Jay White – AEW World Championship
It feels like this feud has been going on forever, so I’m glad it’s being wrapped up this weekend. I’m also not a Jay White fans because AEW has failed to tell me anything about him as an individual whereas MJF has transitioned wonderfully into a babyface where we’ve seen a vulnerable side to his character that’s relatable. MJF wins this one.
I’m hoping Full Gear finally reveals The Devil. Again, it feels like this Devil character has been around for much longer than they have. I can’t wait for MJF to retain so he can move on. I want the tag division to have a clear direction and for the women’s division to shine the light on the characters that need it. I feel positive that this PPV will conclude and open up new and exciting stories.

My Highlights from ROH Supercard of Honor 2023
Tumblr media
Well it's Wrestlemania weekend which means TK is back on his insane booking for ROH. 2 for 2 now he's brought about some absolutely banging cards.
I know there's also Rampage, SD and HOF tonight, but since none are PPVs I'm just gonna do this one today. Mania will be late though since I'll have to watch Night 1 and 2 back to back given how I have family plans on Sunday.
But without further ado, let's see the good stuff from ROH Supercard of Honor
Spoilers for the PPV of course
All the Zero Hour matches slapped
Big pluses for Cobb as well; Omega, Moose and Williams matches on the trot takes monster stamina
NIGEL MCGUINNESS! Back on Commentary is nice but I'm sure everyone hopes he can return to the ring, I know some want him in BCC
Mack vs Takeshita didn't disappoint either, love both of these guys and they were just back and forth
Caprice and Ian vibing with Willow's theme
Sterling giving Slim J a spare shirt after ripping his in the entrance
Stu and Slim J are still very underrated, they're both an explosive feral style of wrestler
Ah so the Righteous aren't going to WWE after all, Righteous vs Dark Order might be an interesting feud
The absolute MADMAN TK is to not only book Vikingo vs Komander but to have it open the main show
An apt comment given how I'm gonna watch HOF after but seeing Vikingo is like watching Rey Mysterio's early days
And I absolutely love that Second Rope In-and-out Phoenix Splash
Komander literally ran the entire ring rope length to swanton onto Vikingo out the ring
Yeah give me Vikingo vs AR Fox, (give me Vikingo/AR Fox against anyone really), Blake and Metalik are great too
Surprised the Embassy retained too, given all we've heard about Cage's contract running out it seemed like he'd drop
Athena may be a nasty violent heel but the amount of fun she's having is great to see, she is thriving in this role
The finish was smart too, Athena using the ref to obstruct the Magical Splash/450 and then hit the mid-rope O-Face
Samoa Joe's STF looks painful as hell
Another surprise retaining as well, shame Briscoe couldn't win though
Garcia's been having a pretty good month ngl, matches vs Brody King, Adam Cole and now Tanahashi, definitely been on the up
'You're a wrestler' chants to put Garcia off too, that story ain't over
Evoking Nakamura as well!
Garcia did a stunner to Tana's injured leg, things you don't see too often
New ROH tag belts look neat, same style as the new world title
Doomsday Device from outside the ring was meaty, the proximity to the steps has been making me nervous all show though
Ladder Sandwich as well
Top Flight's...I have no idea what to call it but they propelled each other up the ladder, then they caught a chair thrown at them!
Jose vs Alex finally getting to throw down
I saw that Destroyer coming and it was still INSANE
Glad to see Lucha Bros win, I still backed Aussie Open but not upset with this outcome
FTR are here too!
Moxley here with Yuta is interesting
I also have to give huge props for TK being able to work Shibata into matches which are both hyped and suited for his style. The OC match allowed him to take his time when he needed, and Pure Rules is perfect for his technical style
Shibata using the BCC's Hammer and Anvil
Heel Yoots is great too
Shibata is a wrestling champion again
AEW's Dynamite card is insane, plus Athena vs Miyu on ROH can slap
Claudio went back to the classical version of his theme music, I'll miss the old one but this does match the pompous and cocky energy the BCC are exuding
Eddie going at Claudio immediately, the story we've built wouldn't offer anything less
These two have really been clattering each other too
Having watched the video of their backstory, the Ricola counter/Uraken was still a great nearfall
Meaty gutwrench to the outside of the ring
Kicked out of the Gotch Neutralizer at One!
The finish was greatly heartbreaking, Kingston countering the Ricola with a rana, only to be scooped up and fall a single second short
Shibata making sure Claudio and Yuta didn't jump Eddie
Shibata feuding with the BCC is something I can get behind, Danielson, Claudio, Moxley, there are all dream matches
Eddie saying fuck and shit for a closing promo is very on brand XD
Conclusion
Another great show, it did struggle to match the opener but it got there eventually. No matches were bad and with ROH tapings now TK has been having a lot of fun bringing out the goods without having to worry about ratings. McGuinness back is a big get for ROH as is Shibata as Pure Champion.
Match of the Night: Reach for the Sky Ladder Match Best Attire: Tanahashi, there wasn't any super unique attire but Tana's look is always super stylish Best Performance: This is a tight one, but I'm giving it to Vikingo given how absolutely blockbuster and effortless he is Best Spot: Penta's Mexican Destroyer from Ladder Bridge to outside of the ring's Table Tower

Final Battle preview
Tumblr media
Chris Jericho vs. Claudio Castagnoli - This is for the ROH men's world title. Jericho won the belt from Castagnoli in July, and although Claudio has since beaten Jericho in non-title situations, Jericho pinned him last month in a four-way title bout. So to get this one-on-one rematch, Claudio has agreed to join the Jericho Appreciation Society if he loses. Those stakes seem more important given that Claudio's current stable, the Blackpool Combat Club, is at a critical moment following the betrayal of William Regal.
The JAS and BCC have been feuding since May, when BCC's Jon Moxley backed up for his friend Eddie Kingston, whose issues with the group went back to November 2021. I think everyone's hoping this will finally end the saga. However, I'm hard-pressed to think of a "babyface is forced to join a heel group" storyline that ended well. If Claudio joins the JAS, the BCC will look like idiots if they don't try to get him out.
The other big issue is Jericho's current gimmick of dishonoring Ring of Honor by not respecting what the title stands for. So he does basic heel stuff like he always does, except Ian Riccaboni has to tell us "THAT ISN'T ADHERING TO THE CODE OF HONOR!" ROH was doing that lazy formula long before Tony Khan bought the company, and I was hoping Jericho would have a new spin on it, but that hasn't panned out.
Ever since Jericho won the title I expected him to lose it here. But now that the day has come I feel like the story hasn't peaked yet. I'd be fine with getting it over with, but I can't help wondering if there's some bigger name waiting in the wings to fight Jericho in the name of honor. In any event, I'm picking Castagnoli to win just to speak it into existence.
Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler vs. Jay Briscoe & Mark Briscoe - This is a double dog collar match for the ROH tag team championship. FTR (Dax and Cash) are the defending champions; their AAA and IWGP titles aren't on the line. Each participant will be chained by the neck to one of their opponents. There are no rules and tag partners don't have to tag in and out of the ring. The match ends when one man scores a pinfall or submission on either opponent.
FTR captured the ROH tag title from the Briscoes in April and won a rematch in July, so the Briscoes have a deep hole to climb out of. The stip is clearly meant to favor the Briscoes, even though it'll probably still be a back-and-forth war right up until the last thirty seconds or so. Going 0-3 against FTR would be pretty disastrous for the Briscoes, especially considering they're supposed to be under contract but they can't appear on AEW TV, so being a top ROH tag team is kind of all they have.
It feels like FTR's triple-champ run could be winding down. They failed to capture the AEW tag title on December 7. They're slight underdogs here. On December 28 they defend the AAA title against Dragon Lee & Dralistico. It's widely expected they'll defend the IWGP title on January 4. It'd be a hell of a story if they made it through without dropping any belts, but it might be a better story to recover from an epic collapse.
Daniel Garcia vs. Wheeler YUTA - Garcia is defending the ROH pure title. This is the third match between these two for the title--Yuta beat Garcia to retain on July 23, but Garcia captured the belt on September 7. So this is the rubber match.
The pure title is defended under pure rules. Closed-fist strikes to the head are illegal, but you just get a warning on the first punch, so that one's basically free. Each competitor can only use the ropes to break a pinfall or submission three times; after that, the only way to be out of bounds is to exit the ring altogether. A championship defended under these rules is always award to the winner, even if the match ends by count-out or disqualification.
I could live with either guy winning, but Garcia really doesn't need this belt. It's cute to have a technician like Garcia hold this particular title while doing the whole "it's not pro wrestling, it's sports entertainment" bit. But if there was anything left to do with that, it's been covered by Jericho holding the world title. Whoever loses this match will need to pick himself up and figure out what to do next, and I'd prefer to see Garcia do that for a change.
Mercedes Martinez vs. Athena - Martinez is putting the ROH women's world title at stake. She spent 16 weeks on the shelf due to an undisclosed injury (which I suspect was a concussion). Martinez's big return was to confront Athena when she took liberties with a beaten opponent and also smacked the shit out of referee Aubrey Edwards. I got the feeling Athena was slowly turning heel, but as soon as she hit Aubrey she was basically the devil.
I guess Martinez could retain but that would really kill Athena's momentum, so I think a title change is the best way to go. Only problem with that is you'd have yet another ROH titleholder who has decided honor in wrestling is a joke. But if it means I get to see more of Athena clobberin' everybody then I'm cool with that. Unless she's clobberin' Aubrey. Don't do that.
Samoa Joe vs. Juice Robinson - Juice has challenged Joe for the ROH television title; Joe's AEW TNT title is not at stake. I was expecting Joe to face Wardlow on the show to blow off their feud, so this is an odd detour. But I'm a big fan of Joe and Juice so I'll take it.
Juice's video package where he issued the challenge sounded like a babyface promo, which is kind of weird since he dramatically turned heel a few months ago in New Japan. I'm curious which of these two the fans will side with. I would be shocked if Joe drops the TV title, unless Wardlow does a run-in.
Keith Lee & Swerve Strickland vs. Shane Taylor & JD Griffey - Taylor and Griffey each teamed with Lee back in like 2014-2015; apparently the story is they're mad at him for leaving them behind like he did to Swerve Strickland on November 19. I'm not clear on why Lee is teaming with Swerve here; you'd think he could and would choose literally anyone else to be his partner.
Taylor was a rising force in ROH just before Tony Khan bought it, so it'll be interesting if he's sticking around beyond this one match. But I don't think his team can win unless the story is Strickland walking away at a critical moment to screw over Lee.
Dalton Castle & Brandan Tate & Brent Tate vs. Brian Cage & Bishop Kaun & Toa Liona - Castle and The Boys are defending the ROH trios title. Cage and the Gates of Agony were brought together by Tully Blanchard back in April, but when Prince Nana took over the group in July they became the latest incarnation of The Embassy. I would expect Castle's team to retain unless they're leaving the company, and I don't get the impression they are.
Rush & Dralistico vs. Blake Christian & AR Fox - OK, so Rush created La Faccion Ingobernable after he left CMLL, so he could do the Los Ingobernables gimmick in other promotions. His brothers Dragon Lee and Dralistico joined LFI. Then Rush came to AEW where Andrade El Idolo joined LFI. Then Rush and Andrade turned on Lee on an AEW show in August. Now Rush and Dralistico are teaming up. On December 28 in Mexico, Dralistico is teaming with Lee. So I'm a little confused where Dralistico's loyalties lie. This is probably a squash match for Rush; the only question is whether he beats up his brother and rips his mask off.
Jeff Cobb vs. Mascara Dorada - This is scheduled for the pre-show. You may remember Dorada as Gran Metalik in WWE's Lucha House Party. Cobb has been in Japan a lot lately so I'm surprised to see him popping in here. I hope he sticks around. After he clobbers Dorada, that is.
Trish Adora vs. Willow Nightingale - Another pre-show match. Adora is the pan-Afrikan world diaspora champion but the title is not at stake. Adora is one of those names I mostly hear when people are talking about hot indy acts you need to watch for. I heard the same hype for Willow before she made it on AEW television this year, and she's great. So hopefully now it's Trish's turn. I'd like to see the winner get to challenge the winner of Martinez/Athena, which is probably more doable if it's Willow.
Matt Taven & Mike Bennett vs. Dante Martin & Darius Martin - More pre-show stuff. Taven and Bennett are The Kingdom, returning to ROH after it was shut down one year ago. Dante and Darius are Top Flight, which was heating up on AEW until Darius had a string of injuries, and then Dante got red hot as a solo act. I'm real glad all four of these guys are here and doing okay after their respective hassles. This is probably a showcase for Taven and Bennett, who made a splashy debut in AEW but haven't really done anything since.
Matt Menard & Angelo Parker vs. Eli Isom & Cheeseburger - Even more pre-show action. Menard and Parker are kind of the job guys in the Jericho Appreciation Society, but that still puts them way ahead of the Shinobi Shadow Squad in the pecking order. CB and Isom are here to remind us they exist before they lose.

quick dynamite watch rundown
im glad that mox hasnt forgotten about lee moriarty being on the BCC shortlist, even if seemingly everybody else has. he's been so busy being away for work and he's been stepping in to help out his son(s) (im not forgetting shooter here) wherever he can, but claudio's really stepped in for much of the parenting. regal's distracted playing hard to get towards mjf. we all know what bryan's been up to. despite this dysfunctional polycule, moxley STILL wants to expand the family desperately so he's baiting lee moriarty to prove himself.
the elite vignette HURTS and i think we should stop referring to AEW and start calling it AW instead. i have little hope for them returning before Full Gear.
i LOVE lee moriarty's green hair and his neon green shorts, but i would like it better if the colours matched. god i love watching him wrestle though.
the acclaimed birthday bash is absolutely 5/5, best thing in the world. i love max casters silly little outfit i love his shorts. i love that they give billy foam fingers so he can still scissor, even though they tear immediately. i love the love they have for the fans in the audience. i love the fucking ADOPTION PAPERS. i love the risky DX reunion shoutout. i love that they never give billy gunn the mic. i love that his sons-by-blood get offended. i am kinda sad there wasn't more body horror, or sneaky swerve doing more fucked up shit to daddy ass, but i guess halloween is over :/
forget my AW idea from a few bullet points back. keep AEW in the logo but change the wordmark to Acclaimed Every Wednesday already.
you cant pay me to care for FTR but i do enjoy that they come out in acclaimed-pink and stand across them in the same colours
ok so ive been slowly making my way through the AEW back catalog and watching april 2020 now, which is the point britt and tony schiavoni become besties. so britt's segment is extra special to me. i have to say i ADORE how britt neglects to show up with renee and saraya for a sitdown (two new hires, already famous from WWE) and instead insists on doing an interview with her bestie tony, who has been at AEW since day 1 - just like her! PERFECTLY mirrored by how saraya, in her segment, talks about how AEW seemed a cool rebel thing when it started but how it gained legitimacy in her eyes when all the ~big names~ joined. britt's here to say fuck you we're homegrown and proud of it! a recurring theme this episode(*)
the colt cabana thing is insane and extremely funny to me. excalibur called him "marcia cabana's baby boy".
the BCC vs JAS fight was great, ill never ever have enough of this feud. camera suspiciously pulling away from bryan "pussy delirious" danielson & daniel "dragon slayer" garcia at all times because you *know* the moment they laid eyes on each other they [redacted].
rey fenix being too much of a good boi to use the hammer. i love you catboy
keith lee is SO upset by the shit swerve's been pulling! he's laying it all out for swerve! ("ACCUSATIONS! FALSE ACCUSATIONS!") swerve just wants to make up, keith lee wants to know who's sick enough to abet in the mutilation of daddy ass.
i was paying a lil too much attention to twitter drama earlier this week, and jade and marina got a lot of heat because their fight would supposedly be bad or boring. im OBSESSED with the fact that we barely saw them exchange 3 strikes on screen. it was just nyla taunting jade the whole time. nyla's absolutely one of my faves at the moment holy FUCK i needneedneed to see her beat jade for the TBS title sooner rather than later! vicky guerrero's voice is my sleep paralysis demon, she should be on commentary every match mainly because it would make people angry.
house of black epic >:)
TONI'S FINALLY GETTING SOME PLOT??? TONI STORM IS GETTING CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT THAT'S MORE THAN JUST "ohh i wanna fight :)"??? WE'RE SEEING JAMIE VS TONI AT FULL GEAR? aaaa
(*) to elaborate on the "fuck you we're homegrown and proud of it" statement: i'm seeing it in britt baker's promo, in the Elite vignette, colt cabana being the mystery ROH champion, even in the Acclaimed's sheer popularity to a degree. people online keep saying they should use the punk vs elite drama as an angle and i think that in this way they are??

We’re back with wrestling reviews. Check out my thoughts on last night’s AEW Dynamite.
It’s Thursday and you know what that means! Let’s cut the shit and get right to The Good, The Bad, and the WTF: First Crack at Dynamite Edition.
The Good:
The chaotic action of the main event Trios match between Death Triangle and United Empire. Much as I don’t like wonky endings in AEW matches this was the overall pretty good and the last two minutes or so was predictably filled with insane spots. But I suppose that’s the only point of this entire Trios venture aside from getting more of the 500 AEW talents on tv as much as possible. I’m on record as not caring about the 1000th set of titles in this company and I truly don’t care who wins this thing but the Trios division is like an NBA game. You can watch the last 90 seconds and get all the quality entertainment it has to offer.
Ricky Starks’ promo on Ice Train Hobbs. This felt organic, was filled with passion, and I dug it. This build for All Out has been good and it makes sense unlike quite a bit of the rest of the card. More on that later.
Dax vs Lethal. Can never go wrong with FTR involved and I like Lethal as well. Crowd went bonkers when it was announced that MCMG was teaming with Lethal at All Out to face FTR and Wardlow. Admittedly, i know very little about these guys but the neckbeards love it so I assume it will be an entertaining bout.
The Acclaimed getting a title shot at All Out against Swerve and Lee. Proves TK is paying attention between bumps of cocaine. These guys are crazy over. Not certain they’ll win but they’re certainly deserving.
Moxley’s post match promo. Instead of just bleeding everywhere tonight, this guy solidifies himself as the intense psycho that he is and he belongs at the top of the card. However…
The Bad:
The title match was confusing, awful, and pointless. This was a lot of short term hype for a fart in the wind. Granted, not too many people outside the company really knows what the hell is going on and sometimes that’s the fun of it but I do not buy for one second Punk is re-injured. It’s quite possible AEW still has the Ace yet to be played but if it’s not MJF returning, I can’t imagine I’ll be excited about it. Is Punk quitting? Is he physically done? Did he whine his way into punishment? If he’s still hurt why did he agree to go out there? Wasn’t this one of his massive gripes with WWE? This just plain sucked. No way around it.
Along similar lines, for a company that prides itself on long term storytelling and cohesion, this PPV, their biggest of the year, sure is being thrown together last minute. Starks and Ice Train has been built, Jungle Boy and Christian is boiling, and the Trios title finals is something that’s been planned but the rest of the card is being thrown together in the final couple weeks. Jericho and the American Dragon? Slapped together tonight. Another interim title match, this time for the women? Unavoidable i guess but still slapped together. The tag title match? Last minute decision out of the nowhere. It’s a very odd switch for them. Not that the matches won’t be good, most of them probably will be but they’re not giving the fans any time to invest in the story. It’ll just feel more like a really good episode of Dynamite than a massive payoff event. There isn’t even a world title match set yet. Annoying.
Kip Sabian, if for no other reason than he kind of ruined the main event. Live fans loved it. Ok but that match deserved a cleaner finish. 🤷🏻‍♂️ I’m ok being in the minority here.
Danielson/Garcia/Jericho opening segment. I’m just not into Garcia’s emotional turmoil. Love Jericho. Love BD. They will put on a great match at All Out. Just don’t care at all about this storyline. Put Garcia in the BCC. Leave him in the JAS. I still won’t care.
The WTF:
Britt Baker in another squash match. When was the last time DMD was in a quality feud? She’s the only charismatic woman in the entire division and is the logical choice to win the “interim” title even though I think it would be much more interesting to put the title on Hayter, who is a better worker, and have her feud with Baker. I like Toni Storm and all but that’s a Liv Morgan situation waiting to happen. Don’t make that mistake, TK. Toni does not have the chops to carry a very weak Division.
Billy Gunn vs Colton Gunn. Mr. Ass’s entertaining involvement in this story is limited to Bowen’s screaming “scissor me daddy ass!”
Overall a decent show if not confusing and kind of thrown together following the “talent meeting”. There wasn’t a lot to be offended by with the exception of the ridiculously bad world title match. I suppose AEW got me. I tuned in with excitement about what swerve may be coming and instead I got the Second City Senior Citizen getting treated like Jumpin Jim Powers. Cool. 3.3 out of 5 glasses of the bubblay!

Forbidden Door Predictions and Desires
I will not be liveblogging, but here are my predictions and desires for the matches!!!
Interim AEW Championship: Jon Moxley vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi Prediction: Mox - as cools as it would be for the AEW title to travel, I think they’re gonna keep it in the states Want: I would be okay with either!! I will officially be rooting for Mox as a long time fave, but Tanahashi winning would be fun too! I just hope they both have fun :D
IWGP Championship: Jay White (c) vs. "Hangman" Adam Page vs. Adam Cole vs. Kazuchika Okada Prediction: Jay White. Yeah, I know, I know, “But Elle you’re the leader of the SBC and the originator of the Spite Jay White Agenda,” I KNOW okay? I don’t want it to happen, but I’m pretty sure it will. I don’t think they would have Jay take the title from Okada and then immediately uno reverse card. I don’t think they’re gonna have the title in AEW. And Jay has history with all of them in some way or another and this furthers his whole I’m The Best All This Is Because of Me agenda. Want: Anyone but Jay. In order of preference - Hangman, Okada, Cole. Hangman would be a cool full circle from his time in New Japan like he talked about in the Road To. Okada - need I explain? And Cole is my fave to hate on, but he is fantastic and this would also drive an Adam Squared feud XD.
Zack Sabre Jr. vs. Mystery Opponent Prediction: Mystery Opponent! Since Bryan specifically mentioned this mystery person joining AEW and the BCC, it wouldn’t make sense for them to debut with a loss at a ppv.  Want: It depends who it is XD. I don’t know ZSJ very well, but I like what I’ve seen! If it’s who I want it to be, I very much want Mystery Opponent to win. But we’ll see!
AEW Women's Championship: Thunder Rosa (c) vs. Toni Storm Prediction: Thunder Rosa, I think. I’m not as confident about this one. She hasn’t had the title long, so I don’t think they will take it off her yet. But they also haven’t had her on TV a lot so :( hard to say. Want: Both women are fab!! I will be rooting for Rosa; I want to see more of her reign and more stories!!
AEW All-Atlantic Championship: Malakai Black vs. Miro vs. Clark Connors vs PAC Prediction: Uhhhhhhh, I think PAC or Malakai? Clark Connors is fab, but I don’t think he’s well known enough with the AEW crowd to win, and he is also a last minute replacement. Malakai and PAC both haven’t held gold here yet, so I think it will be one of them. I’m leaning towards PAC, but I think that’s because... Want: PAC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He is one of my favorites in AEW, and I want to see him with a title!!!
Chris Jericho, Sammy Guevara and Minoru Suzuki vs. Eddie Kingston, Wheeler Yuta and Shota Umino Prediction: Truly not sure...I think maybe Jericho, Guevara, and Suzuki win but then Eddie and Co beat JAS at Blood and Guts. Want: EDDIE AND MOX’S SONS I NEED IT I WANT IT
Winner-take-all Ring of Honor and IWGP Tag Title match: FTR vs. Roppongi Vice vs. United Empire Prediction: FTR with all the gold - they’ve been pushed recently, and while I don’t know a lot about United Empire, I can’t see Roppongi Vice (as fab as they are) winning this one. FTR has narrative momentum. Want: I will be rooting for both FTR and Roppongi Vice!! I won’t be super mad if United Empire wins though.
Will Ospreay vs. Orange Cassidy: IWGP US Title Prediction: Honestly ???????????????????????????????????? Want: Go OC!!!!
The Young Bucks, El Phantasmo w/ Hikuleo vs. Sting, Darby Allin, and Shingo Takagi Prediction: My initial guess was the Bullet Club team (vomiting in my mouth), but I’m really not sure.  Want: *vibrating with passion* SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love the Bucks, and seeing them team with ELP is going to hurt me, but you better believe I’m rooting for Sting!!!!!!!!!!
Kickoff show match: Swerve Strickland and Keith Lee vs. El Desperado and Yoshinobu Kanemaru Prediction: Swerve in Our Glory - they’ve been having IssuesTM recently so I think they win here and recoup or they win and Keith attacks Swerve or or they lose and break up. But I think they’ll win. Want: I’d be happy with either!!
Kickoff show match: QT Marshall and Aaron Solo vs. Hiroki Goto and Yoshi-Hashi Prediction: Let’s guess Hiroki Goto and Yoshi-Hashi! Want: YOH’S DAD YOH’S DAD
Kickoff show match: Max Caster and the Gunn Club vs. Yuya Uemura, Alex Coughlin, Kevin Knight and The DKC Prediction: Don’t know enough to say so let’s just guess and say LA Dojo? Want: Either would be fun, but I’ll root for the LA Dojo boys XD
