OC Introduction
Tumblr media
Fandom: Starfield
Role: Spacefarer,
BASICS
Full Name: Julien Prince
Nickname(s): Fox
Pronouns: He/Him
Sexuality: Bisexual
Occupation and Titles:  Prev: combat medic in the FC miltia (post war), random odd jobs not worth remembering. UC Vanguard Recently: Argos mining, Constellation explorer, Freestar Ranger
Birthday & Age:  at the time of the game 35. Born on the 3rd day of the tenth month in the ass-end of nowhere Dodgewood, Akila
Physical description: 5'8", dense muscles, appears lanky
Clothing style: Fox does not have what one would call style. Let's just say it's a good thing his main jobs have had uniforms...will mix prints, loud colors, though he can clean up and dress appropriately when the occasion demands.
BACKGROUND
Fox is Doc Melody's twin. They left home at 18 shortly after he signed with the FC militia and began medic training. Lost track of Doc for a time, causing him to hop from job to job while searching for her. Around the time he found her in NA he met his husband, joined the Vanguard to gain citizenship, and settled into a more boring life in the UC. Then his sister tagged along for a Comm tower repair job out in Tau Ceti and...well life picked up and never slowed down after that...
COMBAT & SKILLS
Preferred fighting style: If he has to fight he favors pistols/revolvers and snipers rifles. Well more like if he has to fight he'd prefer to hit hem first without being seen but if not, he's a menace with a pistol. Like Fox is Mercy from overwatch when she stops healing and starts hosing the other team...
Favorite weapon(s): Fully upgraded Razorback, Fully upgraded Urban Eagle, A Lawgiver set up for long range (I know that's not a sniper but it's what he used!)
Special skills: He's a drummer. A really good drummer. He can also sing. He and Doc were actually in a band as teens. Photography.
RELATIONSHIPS
Family: Doc, his husband, his inlaws. His found family of close friends (including Bella and lil' Sophie). He and Doc are no contact with their blood relatives for personal reasons
Love interest: His husband, Nick. Loves that software engineer like no other.
Best friends: Other than Doc and Nick? Bella, Diego Monroe, Barrett, Vlad, and Noel.
PERSONALITY
Positive traits: Trustworthy, Brave, Adaptive, Protective
Negative traits: Impulsive, Rebellious, sometimes cocky.
Likes: exploring, amber ales, babysitting his nieces, days off.
Dislikes: Lillian Hart (you'll see), politics, IPAs
Fears: losing what family he has left
Guilty Pleasure: I mean he doesn't ascribe guilt to his pleasures but his sister would say the fact that he blasts old earth boy bands in the cockpit when he thinks he's alone. He knows all the words to every song on NSYNC's debut album.
Hobbies: Photography, playing his drums, baking, camping, driving his sister batty.

WIP Wednesday Sunday
Thanks for the tag, @dirty-bosmer and @kookaburra1701 and anyone else who has tagged me in one of these in past weeks. Happy to finally be writing and sharing again.
Started a Starfield fic, of all things—the seventh ever posted on AO3, apparently. But the writing excitement has returned, which is probably the important thing.
In the historical records, everything on Vesta happened quickly: scholars claim that FC colonists first settled down in 2307, and that by the end of 2308 every one of those farmers had been killed by UC soldiers. In Freestar space today, the massacre is a rallying cry. Martyrs yell 'Remember Vesta' into communications channels before launching their missiles at civilian shuttles or ramming their ships into military satellites. All rogue agents now, of course. The Colony War officially ended almost twenty years ago. Peace reigns in the Settled Systems—the uneasy peace of the survivors, and the certain peace of the dead.
In the histories everything happened quickly, but Cedar Brontë knew better. She'd been born in 2295, when the number of families on Vesta could have been counted on two hands. Born between wars, born in a wash of too much blood. Her mother was the first human to ever die on that cursed planet.
Years before the United Colonies turned its deadly attention towards Vesta, Eliza Brontë had been put into the lonely ground. As a child, Cedar often visited that strange monument: a hunk of stone hidden amidst rainbow flowers and spiny hackti, a hunk of stone that represented only an idea. Mother. Here once, now gone. Daddy went quiet whenever Cedar asked about her, and he never visited the grave.
Soon enough Eliza was less lonely underneath that soil, as other families settled and buried their own dead. Old grandparents who passed all natural and peaceful. The odd victim of a farming accident or shuttle crash. War was still a distant memory and an unknown future. Life took root on Vesta and did well enough there for a time. Humanity enforced its familiar cycles on the alien world, working from long practice. People lived and died and laughed and worked and wept and danced.
Cedar, lonely on the ranch but well-spoiled by her father, came to love her home as most well-loved children do. She spent hours in her family's library reading of adventurers roaming out in the vast starscape. She read of space pirates and fanatics and politicians, of Collectives and Colonies—all abstract ideas, distant and imaginary. Her world was the ranch: it was a small and cozy world, and Cedar had little reason to question why they raised no livestock as their neighbors did. She never wondered where her father's money came from. A week after her tenth birthday, Cedar's father took her hand and led her out to his workshop. She watched him scan his thumbprint and unlock the door that had been forbidden to her all of her life. Alien odors drifted out to greet them, scents she knew from her father's clothing: oil and sulfur, chemical and flame, ash and coolant. "Daddy?" she asked. All of a sudden, looking at that forbidden place now open to her, she could not move her feet. "It's okay." He smiled, but it didn't reach his eyes. There was a hardness in his expression that was as unfamiliar as it was frightening. "This is my work, honey. I've wanted to show you for so long. It was your mother's work, too."
At the mention of her mother, Cedar steeled her heart and took a deep breath. She brushed past her father and entered. Weapons of every make and model lined the thick steel walls of the workshop. Pistols, rifles, grenades, and far worse things of tortured metal that she could not put a name to. These were the items that her father's visitors took away wrapped in concealing cloth or packed into crates. For years now she'd watched the people come and go, and now she finally knew what they paid Daddy for. "This is my work," her father echoed, putting a hand on her shoulder. He looked on the tools of war with reverence, as if they were his gods and he their creation. "Are you afraid?" "No." Cedar could not tear her gaze away. "What are they for, daddy? Hunting?" "No. They're for justice. A dream that your mother and I shared. Do you know what justice is?" "It's, uh, doing what's right." She glanced away, reaching back into her memory to retrieve a recent reading. "Integrity in the dealings of men with each other. Rectitude. Equity. Uprightness."
He laughed a little, and Cedar started at the sudden vibration against her side. "I must be boring you to death out here, if you're reading dictionaries now. But those are just words." Her father turned her around to face him, his expression turning as serious as death. "But do you understand what justice is? Would you know it if you saw it? Would you recognize its absence?" "I don't know. Maybe." "Almost ninety years ago, some folk got together and signed some papers. The Treaty of Narion." He said the words like they were a curse, and Cedar recognized hatred in her father for the first time. "This treaty said people like us had to stay within three little star systems. They gave us permission to live inside those lines they drew on a map. Vesta is outside those lines. Have you ever thought about that?"
She shook her head, in full honesty. Her father wasn't saying anything she didn't already know, but she'd never put these facts together into anything meaningful. "Our existence here is a crime. Does that sound like justice to you, Cedar? You were the first person ever born on Vesta, but the United Colonies doesn't think you're a human being. You're just a treaty violation. Is that just?" "No," she answered, a little spark of anger rising in her breast. "I don't understand. Why don't they just leave us alone?" "Because they hate us." He stood and looked towards his work again. "They hate us, honey, and they'd be happy to see Vesta scorched down to bedrock."
Cedar, looking now too, saw the weapons now in a new light: they were the shields protecting them from destruction, from the wicked people in the United Colonies. Her father continued. "You're going to hear whispers, sooner or later, that I make these terrible guns just for the profit of it. You're going to have to close your ears to those lies. I give away as much as I sell, to desperate folk in need of protection. We don't have any soldiers to guard us out here. You understand?" "Yes." "Your mother and I always knew a war would be coming. She was my partner in that good fight. We never planned to have a child. We never planned…" He cleared his throat, and his grip on her shoulder tightened. "Well. These are the cards fate dealt us. I kept all this from you as long as I could. To preserve your innocence, your happiness. But it's time to wake up, now. The UC is hot for war; they want to dig up your poor mother's bones and call it a crime that they were ever buried here. These weapons are all that's keeping us from that awful future. These weapons, in the hands of deserving folk."
She nodded slowly, looked up at her father, and said those fateful words she would always remember with a touch of bitterness. "Can I help?"

Rick came back to the campfire, carelessly throwing a dead fish into the flames. As the male sat down on a rock, he pulled out the pistol that resided on his left hip - checking how many bullets were left. The small group of people that he found himself travelling with hadn't exactly been his first choice. However, with the promise of treasure, how could he even say no? Eyes wondered over the camp, everyone else seemed to be asleep - minus one. His attention quickly focused on the artefact in their hand, causing his brow to furrow. "What is that, I hope you didn't take that from town, the last thing we need is a bounty on our head."

older!Jason Todd feelings
apparently I’m having thoughts about my guy today. Who can blame me? 🥰 here's a thing about him & my OC, Jayn, when they're a little bit older...
to start, his FC is Peter Gadiot. (yep, let that sink in.)
ANYWAY--
he's 50-something. when he really thinks about it, he's surprised that he's made it this far. Like all the other vigilantes & Gotham-centric people (including his own partner), he's got his own collection of scars (& foraged Batarangs), but that's to be expected. The usual suspects (Jayn, the old ladies in their* neighborhood, the Bats who were still kicking, and the nighttime escorts) always compliment him on his looks, even if he doesn't think he looks all that special. The Pit has slowed his aging; aside from some deepened smile crinkles at the corner of his eyes and slightly darker skin, he hasn't physically changed in decades. Ah well--there is the bone spur that future asshole!Tim had clued him into (long since removed), the scruff he occasionally lets grow in, and the blue that's slowly returning to his eyes in place of some of the Lazarus-tinted green. He still has the nightmares, and some things (prolonged laughter, horror movies, being surrounded by intense cold) still bother him, but Harley's really helped over the years.
he and Jayn said they'd never get married. They agreed when they were maybe 27 that having an actual wedding would just jinx things. If either of them died too early, the other would resurrect them, and yet...they both preferred to stay on top uninterrupted for a while. So, they had a date night (and day) spent mostly outside Gotham, one which ended with them getting tattoos inspired by Pride and Prejudice: “My heart is and always will be yours,” for her, and "You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you,” for him. Well, that, and then they put their gelato to-go in the fridge before they had a nice round of sleepy sex. Now they've got matching ring tattoos--those were from their 25th not-anniversary last year.
she eventually sets aside her duties as CFO of WayneTech to run the Martha Wayne Foundation. It keeps her busy in a good way. She and Jason publicly live in the Wayne Foundation penthouse, which is close to all the venues used for charity galas and not far from all the places where Jason teaches. Because he wants to help as many as he can, he rotates between being an adjunct at Gotham U, an adjunct at Hudson, a teacher at a big high school (it'd been poor before "the Waynes" donated to it), and an online tutor...all for English and Drama. Jayn limited him to 2 jobs per semester and forbade him from working at Gotham and Hudson simultaneously. Still, she loves listening to his stories about the kids he works with. And they love their teacher, who wears graphic tees and ankle boots with button-ups, and who sometimes brings his pet to class.
the Red Hood isn't seen as often as the other Gotham heroes. Some of them are younger, newer vigilantes who find it comparably easy to fit nightly patrols into their schedules. Sometimes he envies them, missing the feeling of wind combing through his hair as he zips through the sky, or the combination of adrenaline, satisfaction, and relief that comes with saving someone from a creep. Well, he still experiences that stuff, just not as much. First off, the Red Hood is a reserve guy--he only comes out when Frostbite does, which is if shit has officially hit the fan (ex. planetary invasion, No Man's Land Part 2, the regular teams are out of commission, etc.). Then out come the pistols and gear, none of which he's ever thrown away (assuming it still works). Otherwise, he has to stick to riding his motorcycle, sparring with those who know about his past, and going on the occasional international vacation.
they stopped suiting up for patrol a few months before the twins were born. The kids were the result of a few steamy, excited, condom-less nights (some of which also involved getting high). When Jayn got the positive, she and Jason debated all the reasons why they should or shouldn't be parents, including having weird upbringings, living in a dangerous world, and noticing a little gap in their lives that seemed to want kids. Freddie Arwen and Lydia Wayne-Todd looked nothing like each other apart from their light brown skin, but Jason thought his daughters were perfect the moment he saw them. They still are, even though Freddie keeps bleaching the life out of her pretty, dark brown hair and Lydia's cooking typically tastes like stale refried beans. Both left Gotham years ago, but they make sure to visit once a month.
yes, the clown is dead. Yes, Jason was there when they dissolved the body using lye and water. Yes, he was slightly salty, seeing as how it'd taken the Bats forever to kill the creep. In the end, it'd been Ghost-Maker, Bruce's weird (yet impressive, from a crimefighting POV) ex, who'd been in Gotham tracking some illegal shipment. Apparently, Khan had been a good boy, following Bruce's rules until he completed his mission. About a half hour later, Joker was found dead. There was an informal, 2-day celebration all across the city, one where everyone was kind to each other, like a reverse Purge. It would become a holiday, much to Bruce's chagrin. Oh, well.
when Jason turned 30, Alfred finally admitted to the Bats that he'd been part of some experimental Brit super-soldier program, one that had slightly increased his intellect, reflexes, and lifespan. Not many of them were surprised.

@badtrigger : ❝ I need you to trust me, and do exactly as I say. ❞ // santiago bri, any fc verse | resident evil: 4 remake starters ( accepting!! )
Undeniable is the natural beauty of these islands, but it’s offset by volatility. Whether it’s the fauna that prowl the dense foliage with their fangs and claws or the inhabitants that carry their guns and knives, there are too many ways to die on the islands of Rook and too many things to fear. But with Mister Moncada as her guide (and protector), Brianne is more inclined to accept an invitation to explore the ancient ruins tucked away in the jungle. It’s the experience even a rich girl like her can’t get anywhere else, the offset of boredom of an extended layover, and an opportunity to spend time with her quiet guide who is making her all shades of curious.
Halfway to their destination on a well-trodden path, gunshots ring from behind making turning around and back to where they parked the jeep is impossible. Run, he tells her, and run she does, staying ahead of the Pirate whose broad body might unintentionally shield her from the bullets as his pistols playback in defense. The onslaught necessitates a turn from the straight path, but racing through the jungle overgrowth slows her already dreadful pace — and good thing too for he catches her arm, yanking her body back just in time before footing slips her off the cliff face that finds them both stopped.
Down is a straight drop of enumerable meters set aside a half-wall of high waterfalls that aurally blanket the area in the sound of a calming rush. With dual pistols holstered, his free hands make purchase on the tops of her shoulders. Her whole body shakes but under this grounding touch, she can remind herself to breathe. Stare, which sat wide in shock at the distant blue pool of water below, drags up to his for guidance. Those brown eyes are always stern, his steady voice set to match, but somehow it’s only comforting amid the chaos.
❝ I need you to trust me, and do exactly as I say. ❞
“I trust you.” At a pause in erratic breath, this certainty flows, not needing another thought. He has given her no reason not to trust him. Quick nods closely chase and somehow in the pit of a stomach knotting in despair, she knows he’s going to tell her to jump.

He has rarely seen such a picture-perfect opportunity as the one laid before him now. He was about to give the standoff-ish harpy such a hilariously fitting end.
The Golan Arms FC-1 Flechette Launcher attached to the Dark Trooper's left pauldron tracks the winged clone as she flaps, calculating the proper lead. Beneath his visor, Fordo blinks, and the weapon fires. A munition canister flies through the air, exploding at a carefully predetermined distance to shower Kestrel in a cone of incredibly sharp, high-velocity metal darts. The flechettes pierce her armor, tear through her flesh, cleanly sever delicate feathers, and shatter her shin bone with a direct hit. The 'Shriek-Hawk' plummets, landing hard just out of sight.
The Dark Trooper steps through the tall grass, looming over her battered body. Weakly, she curls what is left of her broken wings around herself, instinctually seeking any sort of shield from what is about to come. Fordo kneels, placing his palm against her cheek, wiping the tears from her terror-filled eyes with his metal thumb.
"Hello, Kes."
His was the voice of a clone, unmistakably. She is not given long to process this information before the barrel of a blaster pistol is pressed against her chin.
