CAST:- Anil Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai, Rajkumar Rao, Divya Dutta and Pihu Sand.
I had a lot expectations from this Film, when they launched it's teaser, I thought that this film will be different, because it had actor's like Rajkumar Rao and Anil Kapoor in it. I was excited to see the film as these two legendary actor's were working with each other for the first time. I thought this film will be a success at the box office and I also thought that the Critics will like it. The trailer got positive response as well, so everybody thought that this could be the best film of 2018. But when it released, something else happened. Not only was it criticized by the Critics, but even the trade analysts did not like it and the first days box office collection was also not good. Let's talk about the movie now. ‘Fanney Khan’ Directed by debutant director Atul Manjrekar is about ‘Prashant Kumar Sharma’ a.k.a. ‘Fanney Khan’ who in his younger days was a part time vocalist in an orchestra, he wanted to become a singer but due to financial problems he couldn't become one. One day while performing at a function he gets a call telling him that his wife(Divya Dutta) has given birth to a girl, followed by the birth of his girl he quits his job at the orchestra and works at a factory, he then names his daughter ‘Lata’(Pihu Sand) after the Nightingale of India ‘Lata Mangeshkar’. Many years have passed since the birth of his daughter and he is now working at a factory. His daughter is overweight and obese, she has an excellent voice though. Lata has no respect for her father, she treats him very badly at time's, she hates him because she thinks he is old fashioned and humiliates him all the time. Lata is a die hard fan of ‘Baby Singh’(Aishwarya Rai). Singh is a playback singer, she is beautiful and has a good voice and our protagonist Lata is envied by her. The story continues from there. There is nothing special about the film to be honest. The film is dull and boring, it makes you feel uncomfortable at time's by embarrassing you. The film pays a tribute to ‘Mohammad Rafi’ and ‘Lata Mangeshkar’. The songs are bad because they don't Sense at all. The lyricist should be beaten up with bamboo stick's because the lyrics that he wrote were pathetic, I couldn't. I felt so embarrassed at one point that I felt like leaving the theater immediately, but since I had paid the money for the tickets I couldn't do that as well. Aishwarya' s presence in the film did not affect it's box office collection. Anil Kapoor and Girish Kulkarni were the only actor's who had More screentime than that of Rai and Rao. By the way Girish Kulkarni played Aishwarya's manager in the film but stilll had more screentime and did very well. Divya Dutta was good as usual. Pihu Sand could've done better, but she chose not to is what I guess. Fanney Khan disappointed me. I wasn't Fanney Khan to be so dull and boring, I have seen movie's that are way better than Fanney Khan. I have seen so many terrible films over the years but those movie's were way better than Fanney Khan. I wish I could erase it from my memory, I wish I had not seen it😭😭😭😭😫😫😫😫😫😫😤😤😤🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯😬😬😬😬😬😬😬
