another potentially angsty one because i love being in emotional agony: how about #9, how do they feel about growing older and eventually dying? personally im more scared about actually getting old than dying (although I am a little scared of dying painfully im more worried about what happens after) but theres something really scary about getting old to me. idk wjsjk anyway fun fact of the day: i have playlists for my ocs!! all of them are over 3 hours long and I also have a playlist for the place some of them originate from!! it's a bit messy and i need to clean them out bc sometimes i just add things in there w/o a second thought lol!! i think my longest oc playlist rn is like. 7 hours long but that's bc he's kinda like my “main” oc in a way??

Galeon: Also totally chill about it. Doesn't know what will happen after but he's accepted that it's a part of life. More worried about being separated from his loved ones than death itself.

Hollond: Not afraid of death, but afraid of who (or what) awaits them. Perhaps that means eternal paradise, or, perhaps, they're afraid of meeting their (literal) maker.

Greta: Not afraid of death, more worried about how bored she'll be instead. Eternal sleep? boring. Eternal happiness?? also kinda boring. She want's adventure! Excitement!! How can she do that when she's gone??

Nyx from @elysianfiction= They would be interested in their bond with their wolf, they wouldn't put off by Nyx's intimidating stature, they might piss off Nyx multiple times but they were lucky to just only receive death threats. Their persistence to unveil Nyx's mystery and they catch something along the way.

Cadmus from @legend-of-a-savior-if= G's need to satisfy their curiosity always brings them to odd situations. Cadmus is something, they want to know what makes them tick, their thoughts, and everything about them, and somehow G ends up thinking about them way too much.

Valerian from @ophiuchus-interactive=Valerian’s gold heart interested G. His strong morals are something they don’t find in a lot of people and they are fascinated.

Callie from @arcadia-city-stories-if=Ender would be put off with Callie's loud energy at first but once they get to know her, they would find that trait quite endearing and will be the one of the many things that they love about her.

Clementine from @northern-passage= They would also get along with their love for music, Ender would open up to them really quickly with their shared interest and plus they can't resist Clementine's sweet sincerity.

James from @awmorgan= Like James, CJ also shares their love for comics. They would bond over who their favorite characters are or series, and they smile a lot more whenever they talk.

J from @lacunafiction= J is Ender's type, they’re cool and dutiful heart lies a hidden softness. Ender has a long list of (fictional) crushes similar to J's personality. They will be uncharacteristically bashful and red whenever they're around.

Lucas from @underbelly-if= Their shared interest in science will connect them together, CJ would find Lucas as an entire being, endearing.

How would parents/niblings react to a usually quiet and distant child!mc one day sitting next to them and cuddling close.

Finlay: Shocked by the sudden contact enough to go unnervingly still -- might think the mc is displaying symptoms of an illness but once they see the mc looking just fine, their worry shifts towards confusion. Lets the mc cuddle close as long as they please and won’t move an inch unless it’s asked of them!!

Lesilfae: “Ew--” The mc probably sat next to him on the sofa while he was looking through some documents and startled him. More than a little confused but lets the mc remain so long as they don’t touch anything or try to distract him further!! Might end up forgetting the mc is leaning against him and stand to go do something and knock them over lol!!

Galeon: Surprised but not upset!! Feels their forehead just in case but then lets them cuddle as close as they want. Will wrap them up in his arms and probably take a looooong nap, haha!! If the child!mc doesn’t approach him for more affection, he’ll be pretty bummed but understand that they may not need frequent attention.

Hollond: Won’t look a gift horse in the mouth!! Takes advantage of the mc’s want for cuddles and spoils them with hugs!! Probably tells Galeon later on and is very excited -- hopes that the mc is warming up to them and is starting to see them more as their parents!!

Greta: Cuddles initiated!! Like Hollond, won’t let the mc go and will just snuggle them until the mc starts to complain lol!! Absolutely teases them with, “Aww, do you want hugs from your sister?” and then brings them into a bear hug asdas

Finlay: Unsure about the mc's partner but gets along pretty well with them. so long as they aren't exactly like Finlay in the instance of putting their job before the mc, everything is fine. If they are like them in that regard... "I'm afraid I no longer approve of your partner. Perhaps you should seek someone more... compatible." Tries and fails to set mc up on dates with some lonely clergy members adas

Lesilfae: Is a vain S.O.B, gets along well with the mc's partner, and is hopeful that mc will tie the knot with them (or at least keep them around for a long time) so he can pass on his family legacy to someone.

Hollond: "What is that? Get rid of it." Hostile. Their self-loathing knows no bounds and the idea of being confronted with someone so similar to them is... unnerving. Will try and find mc a 'better, more respectable partner" but inevitably accepts the mc's choice.

Galeon: Loves them but is a little wary. Will bond with the mc's partner pretty quickly and is one of those dads to take them fishing or show them the ropes of his job or smth. Feels he doesn't have to worry about the mc's partner taking care of the mc and is proud that his child chose so well!!

Greta: Likes them but... with how similar they are, will there be time for super fun sibling time now? Worries she's being replaced for a hot minute and, while she treats mc's partner well, ends up feeling a bit cold to them. Soon she warms up and is super excited to have not one but TWO siblings now!! ooh!!

I think for the most part, the only characters who would be upset would be Hollond and potentially Greta.

Yven are take hair v seriously, it's something special and almost... sacred? to them, so finding out the mc cut their hair without following the 'rules' would be devastating. If the mc's hair turned out bad, they wouldn't even be allowed to fix it, they'd have to find an elder to do it instead. I think they'd have a full-on crisis and wouldn't be able to perceive the mc's hair for a while.

Greta would be kinda upset too -- I think she'd enjoy braiding and doing the mc's hair so find their hair fallen across the floor in chopped-off locks would be p upsetting. She'd bounce back pretty quickly and would enjoy the mc's shorter hair though! She'd probably hide the scissors so it doesn't happen again lol...

Reactions to romanced mc being pregnant?

//mm, I don't usually do pregnancy asks but I like the idea of Finlay becoming a parent!! So just this once I'll make an exception and put it under a cut!!

TW: pregnancy

Finlay: Very conflicted -- on one hand, they've always wanted a family of their own but never needed one, on the other, they aren't sure they'd be a good parent or be able to raise them. Then again, in this case, they probably went the magic baby route so Finlay said yes to a baby!! Ends up being a great parent, very dotting in their own way, and aspires to be the parent they always wished they had!!

Lesilfae: "Hm... don't like that..." Doesn't do well with small children and is probably pretty upset that mc ended up pregnant! He won't force them to do anything they don't want to and can/will provide for the baby and mc -- at some point ends up kinda liking the idea of being a dad.

Galeon and Hollond: All-consuming panic but also, "Oh goddess, it's finally happening!!" I imagine they went the magic-baby route, so they knew it would happen but... they're finally going to have a child! A child of their own!! Even though mc is the one pregnant, I have no doubt Hollond will be moody, have cravings, etc as if they, too, were pregnant lol!! Galeon baby proofs the house waaaaay too early and gets the spare room prepped for baby use!!

Greta: Is a baby, so this would have to happen pretty far down the line. Might go the magic baby route but regardless is so super excited!! She's going to be a mother!! She can't wait to show off her new baby to Gramps and her family!! Tends to mc's needs pretty well but also gets a little annoying after a while -- she keeps asking how the baby is doing, haha!!

Hollond: Nope, despite their aggression they've never done anything to warrant police interaction.

Galeon: Courageous, a little stupidly so, takes very little, would do it simply because he thinks it's right.

Hollond: Cowardly but selfishly so -- will not risk their life for people they don't like and it would take a lot of cajoling from Galeon or another person close to them.

Greta: Courageous, also stupidly so. Would do it on a whim with no rhyme or reason though makes an exception for MC and later the other companions.

Finlay: Hard question, their most negative trait is their loyalty. It's often blinding and they tend put work before family, friends, etc. So they have a hard time forming lasting relationships and keeping them sadly...

Lesilfae: He's greedy. Absurdly so. It makes it pretty hard to trust him because he's willing to do anything for money and covets information that will give him the upper hand over others.

Galeon: Selfless to a fault. He's willing to do anything and everything for nearly anyone, he feels it is his job and duty (but he also enjoys helping people). It tends to run him ragged to the point of worrying his close relations and has sort of forced him into an unhealthy lifestyle.

Hollond: Where to start?? jkjk... Probably their possessiveness. It's something they're working on, but they can't help but feel scornful of people who would draw their family and friend's attention from them for too long. REALLY doesn't like Lesilfae for this reason.

Greta: She has none, moving on-- fine, okay, hm... probably her flightiness. She's always on the move, constantly doing things and never really sitting still. That tends to make it hard for her to keep her attentions focused on one thing or one person. I think the only person she keeps returning to is her gramps (and family).

Finlay: Nonexistent, was as close a newborn could be to their mother before she left them, however. If we count Leyth as a parent? They have a very good and very close relationship!

Lesilfae: Was close if a bit distant. It was always like that!

Galeon: Was and always will be very close with his fathers! He adores them -- I think the only change is that he's come to appreciate them more now that he's older and (unofficially) married. haha!!

Hollond: Relationship is bad with Aostran and tense if adversarial with Mytessa. It's always been that way but there's a chance it could change in the future.

Greta: Has no parents that she knows of, but her relationship with gramps is close! She kinda reveres him -- it wasn't always like that, she was a booger growing up and thought he was a stick in the mud!

???: Nonexistent, was always that way and wouldn't change even if she did speak with her parents... Reflects on her parents bitterly.

Finlay: Misc. books! Usually of the 'How To' variety -- has a few 'Rock Identification' or 'Edible or Not Plants' books in their bunk. Tends to collect rocks and strange pieces of wood, etc. so their book to 'treasures' ratio is very skewed!

Lesilfae: Get rich quick books or books about owning and running a business... not that he really needs them but he likes to read over them from time to time... for laughs... (technically collects artifacts and not so legal information)

Galeon: Many books, usually 'meet cute' romances and some old medical/healing tomes!! Keeps them under lock and key!!

Hollond: Collects plants, usually rarer, harder to keep kinds. Adores the "sentient" plants from the Crossroads. Very hard to find, very hard to keep... they tend to crawl.

Greta: Collects anything and everything. Books are not her forte, jewels, rings, pins, coins... now those are more up her alley! I think she does own some books tho, but their picture books from her childhood. Kept for sentimental-ish reasons more so than anything.

Finlay: Yes, but doesn't believe they'll encounter it. Believes love to be a genuine and pure feeling, something that everyone can have with the right person. Of course, they think they're the exception to this... even though they aren't. (let ppl love you, Fin)

Lesilfae: No, unless he ends up in a poly with Gale and Hollond -- then he kinda believes in soul-mates! Tends to believe love is fickle and ever changing, hard to genuinely love someone with your whole being, and more effort than it's worth.

Galeon: Yes. Believes in it because of his fathers!! Believes they fell in one of the truest form of love and has always aspired to find something similar. Good news for Galeon, though! Because he got Hollond (which... hmm... maybe not such great news...)

Hollond: Y E S -- why? Galeon.

Greta: No, but believes that love can remain true if you work at it. Develops crushes easily but finds it hard to maintain interest in them -- mayhaps MC will change that??

???: No, but goddess be damned if she doesn't want to. Deep down she really wants there to be some good in the world, some form of love that can't be broken. She's never seen it, however, and thinks it's a myth.

hello!! could i get a #8 [would they ever become a mentor figure for someone?] with a chocolate milkshake please and thank you!! anyway i never did find that earbud </3 we searched all over the area the case fell :/ my mom thinks it fell out when we went to the gas station. anyways i had the best night on friday. i had my mom watch the 2018 venom which she really liked and we stayed up until like 4am watching deadpool 1&2!! i also cut her hair and it ended up pretty nice!! fun fact of the day: idk if this can be considered a FUN fact but i have asthma!! i have also been in the ER two times (before covid)!! and if you asked me to rate it id rate it a solid 1/10. the 1 being i got to skip school LMAO

Finlay: It's inevitable, sooner or later they'll end up with a squire or might pick up some random teenager who's down on their luck and looking for a way out lol!!

Lesilfae: Yes... kinda... ehh... His assistant is kinda like his mentee, working under him to one day inherit the store should he not have anyone else more qualified to pass it on to. He's also been known to unknowingly teach some of his employees skills that they otherwise might not have developed so uh, he's more of a Whoopsies-Mentor!!

Galeon: Yes! By accident but he'd mentor regardless. One could argue that he's already mentoring at least two other healers but... he'd probably just deny it bashfully!!

Hollond: Yes, but only because they'd need someone to take their place in Court once they retire/grow bored of/or abruptly leave their job. I don't think it would be born out of nor give way to platonic affection, instead it would just be another part of the job that was assigned to them.

Greta: No. She's really not the mentoring type -- like, sure, she'll teach a sibling or romanced MC some things but beyond that she's firmly in the 'every person for themself' mindset (except when it comes to family). You're better off asking one of her cousins or even Gramps himself to mentor you instead of Greta.

When mc does grow up and get married and decides to have kids, how does the family react meeting mc’s newborn baby for the very first time?

Finlay: not great with newborns but is absolutely enraptured by the tiny bundle that is their nibbling. Proud of mc for having a kid but stressed about how the mc is coping afterwards!! "Children are a big responsibility, MC... do take care..."

Lesilfae: admires the child but is also fairly hands off. Not too fond of kids that are still in their crying, diaper stage but will make a small exception for the MC's kid. Probably puts money away for the kid so they have enough for when they decide to move out lol!!!

Galeon: "I'm a grandpa!!" Very excited, likes to let the newborn play with his fingers. Can't stop mentioning how tiny they are and fussing over both the mc and his grandchild!! Probably hogs the newborn much to the MC's and Hollond's annoyance!!

Hollond: They are very quiet around the newborn, almost so much so that the mc may think that they're unhappy... but it's quite the opposite!! Very awed at the fact that not only did they raise a child but now their kid has a kid!! Doesn't like the idea of being called 'grandparent', it feels too old for them so they'll try to get the newborn to call them something else later on!

Greta: "wow, just yesterday you were almost their size... well, kinda. I mean--" teases the mc about their new parent status and gushes about being the 'cool' aunt from now on!! Visits often to just gush over the newborn and is already planning pranks and trouble for them to get into, haha!!

Finlay: would sacrifice the mc even if they were a child. They were raised to put the people first and if they have to sacrifice a few to save the many then that's what they're meant to do. They'd feel horrible afterward and I think their already shaky relationship with the church would go sour...

Lesilfae: surprisingly, would not! I can't pinpoint why, but he really would just go, "guess everyone else is doomed then." and shrug!!

Galeon and Hollond: neither can even entertain the idea of losing their child. While Hollond loves their siblings and Galeon loves his fathers they just... can't! I think if they were ever forced to lose their child they would never fully recover.

Greta: Nope! She's not sacrificing the mc, because she knows her family is strong enough to withstand whatever brought this on!! She'd just sit beside the mc and wait for whatever was going to happen to happen -- tears would flood her eyes but she's not remorseful.

How would everyone react if they suddenly lose child mc/child mc got lost in a crowd? (Like, let's say there's this huge festival going on and then this happened)

Except Finlay uses their position in the guard to clear out the crowd and/or ask people if they'd seen "a child, about ye high?" They're pretty worried until they find the mc and then afterwards, they have to hold Finlay's hand when they have to walk in a crowd!!

Lesilfae kinda goes, "well... shit." and kinda just wanders around until the mc reappears. He wouldn't go back home until the kid was found but by the goddess he will not tell Hollond or Galeon!! When he finally finds the mc he takes them home immediately, silently points a stern finger at them, then leaves lol!!

Galeon and Hollond split up and search the crowd but as they go along they get more and more frantic. Galeon tries to keep his cool, asking people if they'd seen his kid, checking places the mc may have ended up, and trying to shout the mc's name above the sound of the noise. Hollond is less put together and just scrambles between people, ducking into stores, checking alleys, and yelling until their voice goes hoarse!! Once mc is found, probably by Galeon, they go back home where Hollond sips some tea and gives the mc a hard stare. Galeon tells the mc not to run off again and that next time, everyone is holding hands so no one gets lost!!

Greta isn't worried. She went missing in crowds all the time!! but... hmm... it sure has been a while... She'll decide to look for the mc, using all of her street-smart to locate her sibling -- turns out, she's pretty good at finding people some times!! Tells the mc if they ever get lost again to find the nearest landmark and stay there. She'll find them and they shouldn't try to find her.

7a. At what point does your oc walk away from a fight or consider it over?

Finlay: Calmly, very rarely snaps at someone out of genuine anger, and tends to take charge of the situation. Considers dragging up someone's past or family history unfair, but shared experiences are fair game when fighting with someone. "You're yelling at me even though you're the one who failed to catch the criminal? Lead us in a goose chase? Be silent."

Finlay would end up walking away from a fight with someone who's either in tears, injured, or genuinely deemed not worth their time. Long bouts of silence are all they need to decide that a fight has been finished and they can move on.

Lesilfae: Coldly. He's calm but beneath that calmness is anger as hot as white iron -- He's not above using anything and everything to gain an advantage in a fight even if he's in the wrong. Goddess, he hates being wrong... "Right, and I should believe some nameless nobody who couldn't even keep a job as a guard? Pfft!"

Doesn't consider anything unfair unless it's aimed at him, in which case, everything is unfair lol!! He'll only walk away once he has nothing left to say, or his anger has fallen to a simmer

Galeon: Too wholesome, doesn't fight back, and rarely gets angry but in the instance that he does, he tries to remain calm and deal with the situation 'like an adult'. Doesn't consider anything fair when it comes to fighting because he feels like fights stem from emotions and feelings not being properly talked about. "I understand what you're saying. I hear you. But I feel upset about {insert situation here}."

Will walk away if things start to get out of hand and will let the other person or himself have some space. He'll also consider a fight over if there's nothing left to be said when chests are heaving, faces are streaked with tears, and tiredness has begun to creep in.

Hollond: Surprisingly doesn't actually fight people all that often but Isn't above being petty, will drag out a fight and continue to pick at things long after the fight has been over. Is willing and able to use their noble status as a verbal weapon and will happily knock everyone (except Galeon) down a few pegs. "Oh please, you were raised in a sewer! What could you possibly know about being 'civil'! Begone!"

Hollond will walk away from a fight even if the other person hasn't calmed down. They'll feign boredom and just strut out of the room, fully confident that no one will stop them. They consider a fight to be done after they've said their piece and/or reduced someone to tears.

Greta: Is petty in a more childish way and will cut in while someone is talking to her with, "blah blah blah, bLaH!" It's very noisy!! Is prone to occasionally stealing people's keys after they've made her mad so they can't get into their house. "Maybe a night outside or at an inn will chill you out...!"

Greta can easily walk away from a fight both before and after everything has been said. Depending on her mood, she'll hold up a hand and just leave. She doesn't want to hear it when she has better things to do and better people to talk to! Considers fights to be done when/if she cries or the other person calms before she does!

Finlay: Inclines their head, smiles softly, and hums, “Good. As I should.” Is deeply moved despite most people feeling safe around them -- this is different, though. This is someone they love.

Lesilfae: Laughs, “You shouldn’t but thank you!” Is secretly pleased. He would never harm the MC but he has a reputation to uphold, dear! He can’t just mention how you are an exception...

Galeon: “You do? I’m glad!” He’d hug you, letting a hushed quiet fall around you. He’s happy you feel safe with him.

Hollond: Confused, scoffs on accident with a weird look on their face, “Why?” It’s said as more of a statement than an actual question. “Nevermind, I don’t want to know...” Settles against the mc, silent, thoughtful.

Greta: Has probably put the mc in danger a few times (but we love it so...)!! She beams her usual grin at the mc, her freckles lighting up followed by her blush-colored skin. “I feel safe with you too...!” And she means it. She’s never felt safer than when the mc is at her side.
