No kiss A- better gave her her draught this morning after the 2 pills last night - fine morning - sun - F48Ā° at 7 50 with Robert Mann + 3 and the gardener taking soil as yesterday - Mark Hepworth and Binns (3 horses and 2 one horse carts) came at 8 Ā½ each bringing a load from Hipperholme quarry coarse rubble - saw them set to work at carting clay from the court - with Ingham - with Mr. Husband - with A- till she got up after 9 - then had her tenant Bairstow to pay (and did pay) the last Ā½ yearā€™s rent for Water Lane mill, and A- paid him the last years poor rate Ā£7.17.6 thoā€™ the lease settles that the tenant is to pay all taxes but Mr. SW- had paid them! A- will pay no more - this well understood by Bairstow now - breakfast at 10 Ā½ in Ā½ hour and took A- her breakfast upstairs - then at my desk - writing out memoranda in my rough book and the above of today till 11 Ā¾ - and went downstairs to Holt - he will be here tomorrow to meet Washington to lay down on the coal-plan Hinscliffeā€™s trespass - not satisfied with Boothā€™s walling against the engine-pit - walled with rough rag - should have been done with better stone - should be smooth-faced - the shape of the engine-pit should not be altered - plumb-lines should be let down from the oak-frame, and the walling should be true to these - walked with H- to the wheel-race, and went down to the bottom and examined the engine-pit - Holt to see about himself tomorrow - and to appoint Joseph Mann to look after it for him - went with him to the Long goit to see and tell Joseph M- this - he was not there - told Holt to give me a regular plan of his way that he thought best to work the colliery with a calculation of the expense of driving the 2 heads or main-gates - he means them both to be hurrying gates. 4ft. wide and 3ft. 4in. or as I said, 3ft. 6in. high, and still says the coal will pay for driving - told him to calculate if anything could be gained by bringing out the coal at Whiskum - he owned 3 acres a year could not be pulled up at Listerwick unless I had 2 pits close together which plan he seemed much to approve - told his own private grievances - all their property must be sold (he thought) before things could be settled - advised his taking the opinion of some law-man - yes! he should consult Messrs. Ā P- and A- I said he had best do so, and, if he had to go over to York for me, might also consult Mr. Gray - H- said Mrs. Machan was gone (to Birmingham?) to get one of her daughters to sign - said I would rather buy the coal without the farm - H- to try and manage this if he could - Left H- to go to Elland, and I stood talking to George Naylor in the field above his house - about his horse-feed - about ploughing my bit of the Long field - he will do it at 11/. per DW thoā€™ Mr. Waterhouse had given him 12/. per DW for ploughing out an old lay - says lints (proper lints) sown in March will be as early as tares sown now and a much heavier crop - does not think tares will do on that hill - will not be ready before midsummer and the lints will be ready by then - must cut grass for green food from May to midsummer and can give carrots and potatoes till May - said I thought of having lints, potatoes, and a little red clover - from GN- went to upper Place quarry - Dobson not there - Womersley came to me to tell me he knew Mrs. Machan meant to ask Ā£2000 for the farm and coal together - I gave no intimation what I intended to do, but he saw that I did not think the farm cheap at that price, and he said it was too much - thoā€™ calculated that Ā£200 would do the repairs and he would give the rent he gives now which would be = 3pc. viz. Ā£500 for the coal Ā£1500 for the farm + Ā£200 repairs = Ā£52.10.0 per annum for Ā£1700 outlay = Ā£3.1.9 3/17 pc. (Ā£52.10.0x20x12/17= Ā£61. 9 3/17d.) then went with me to the 2nd hole to shew the Little marsh stone - not very promising - a great deal of baring, and a little water at the bottom - the top stone wanting - only the bottom lift left - advised my putting down a small pit-hole (done
SH:7/ML/E/19/0119
by colliers) in the middle of the breadth and about 10 yards from the bottom wall of the piece of oat-stubble below the garden, and said I might shew enough of what the stone is and be ready for the letting in a month from this time - wanted to take the stone of me by private contract - no! I could not do this - had said it should be let publically, and so it should - he then bade me Ā£500 down for the stone in Little marsh land adjoining to Mrs. Machanā€™s ground where F- put down a hole - supposed there was about a DW of stone - would be bound to this quantity and to a term to get it in - said I would think about it - told me Mr. Freeman had given it out, that I had promised him all the stone I had - and that this promise was mentioned in the writings he had of the stone in yew trees wood - I said I was surprised at this being said by Mr. F- as there was not a word of truth in it - In returning saw Mark Townā€™s wife - she wanted me to build up - do up the cottage at the East end of the house but I would have nothing to say to it - returned by Pump lane and the wheel-race, and sometime at Hannah Greensā€™ - the poor old woman sent me off by saying I was bound in honour not to raise her rent as long as she lived my uncle had said she was to live there as long as she lived at the present rent - I said he had never told me so - and I was not bound in anyway - best for her to let me alone on this point - home between 4 and 5 - with Booth and 2 men at the West tower - James alone in the buttery cellar - Abraham poorly not here - Ingham and his Ā man and boy had got the upper wall of the 1st arch done - Joseph Sharpe ill and not here but Robert Schofield breaking stone on the new road - Sugden and George had the 2 new horses out in the morning - Frank carting some parpoints for Joseph Mann from Hipperholme quarry and he and Ingham and cĀ° sided oak wood in the evening - Bligh and the little York joiner making 17 yards of arching - would be Ā£5 wood and labour if I had all to find - Had Mr. Husband about the engine pit - sometime in the stable - came in at 6 Ā½ - A- had been very poorly all the day - at 1st annoyed at my having sent John Booth (1st time) to Priestleyā€™s Calderdale brewery but reconciled afterwards - dinner at 7 20 in Ā½ hour - coffee upstairs and sat reading to A- the account of Mallibranā€™s funeral at Manchester on Saturday last till 10 pm then 10 minutes with my aunt - rather better tonight - asleep or I should have gone to her before - till 11 10 wrote all the above of today - fine day - F38Ā° at 11 10 pm

3.28 Million Lost; Micron Moves; Cheesecake Blues
3.28 Million Lost; Micron Moves; Cheesecake Blues:
Denial, Seems It Had to Come
I warned you it was coming. I warned you itā€™d be bad.
Relied on me to say it all. (Any Sevendust fans out there? No? Oh wellā€¦)
Weekly jobless claims arrived today, and they were record-breaking. The U.S. Department of Labor reported that 3.28 million Americans filed for unemployment benefits last week.
Thatā€™s 15 times the number of people who filed two weeks ago ā€¦ and five times the previous record of 695,000 claims set in 1982. It was more than the peak number of claims during both the Great Recession and the Great Depression.
3.28 million Americans out of work ā€” all because of the coronavirus (or the panic along with it).
The situation is so bad ā€” How bad is it? ā€” that Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell appeared on the Today show to reassure Americans that the U.S. central bank is on our side.
ā€œThe Federal Reserve is working hard to support you now and our policies will be very important when the recovery does come,ā€ Powell said.
The Takeaway:Ā
Letā€™s think about the situation for a minute.
The head of the U.S. Federal Reserve ā€” the guy whoā€™s responsible for the countryā€™s most powerful financial institution ā€” felt it was necessary to reassure the American people on a popular morning show.
On one hand, thatā€™s somewhat comforting ā€¦ Powell taking time out of his busy day to tell everyone that itā€™ll all be OK.
On the other, it shows just how badly the situation has deteriorated. We now have the head of the Fed offering reassurance, not some lackey.
Oh, and those 3.28 million jobless claims? The market shrugged them off.
It seems that most of Wall Street believes that the worst is now behind us. Peter Boockvar, chief investment officer at Bleakley Advisory Group, summed up the Streetā€™s opinion pretty well:
We all know the pain being felt and the economic damage being caused by this damn virus but because we are so close to getting past the worst of the spread, we need to start getting creative about what the restart will look like.
So close to getting past the worst of the spread?
The U.S. is about a month behind Italy in terms of COVID-19ā€™s spread, and Italy hasnā€™t even peaked yet. Weā€™re three months behind China, and itā€™s just now seeing the end of community spread. Both countries went into complete lockdown. While individual states have gone this route, the U.S. as a whole has not.
As hopeful as I want to be ā€¦ as hopeful as Wall Street wants to be ā€¦ we arenā€™t close to getting past the worst of the spread.
As the nationā€™s top infectious disease expert, Dr. Anthony Fauci, put it: ā€œYou donā€™t make the timeline, the virus makes the timeline.ā€
But ā€¦ but the $2 trillion coronavirus rescue bill!
Yes, I hear you out there ā€¦ protesting my negativity again. The Senateā€™s bill will blunt the impact, to be sure. But it canā€™t stop whatā€™s already happening. Despite reassurances that everything will just bounce back ā€¦ that this isnā€™t really a long-term economic problem in the U.S. ā€¦ let me tell you now: It is.
What? You think the U.S. economy could just hire back those 3.28 million out-of-work Americans tomorrow if the coronavirus magically disappeared? Nope. It doesnā€™t work like that.
But, while the U.S. economy is going down, down in an early round, sugar weā€™re going down swinging. And Great Stuff will be your No. 1 with a bullet. A loaded market complex ā€¦ cock it and pull it.
Now, hereā€™s the thing ā€” and listen up, all ye positivity seekers!
Just as the virus chooses the timeline for this whole crazy shebangā€¦
Only you choose your investing timeline. Only you decide if you keep hanging in there.
If you ask expert Charles Mizrahi, the situation is crystal clear. You could either:
Capture peak gains like 300%, 500% and 600%.
Or let the market turmoil and the virusā€™s impact eat away your financial future.
Gains like those? In this kind of market?!
Yes, dear reader ā€” thereā€™s potential in any market. See, according to Charles: ā€œWhat you do in this current meltdown will make all the difference on what your net worth will be in the next five years.ā€

Investors are falling in love with Micron Technology Inc. (Nasdaq: MU) in a hopeless place today.
The flash memory maker beat Wall Streetā€™s second-quarter earnings and revenue estimates and issued solid third-quarter guidance.
In fact, Micron appears to benefit from COVID-19 lockdowns around the world. In its post-earnings conference call, the company highlighted rising demand for PCs, notebooks and other devices as more people work and study from home.
Furthermore, Micron noted additional demand in the data center market, as companies push to beef up cloud computing storage and performance amid spiking remote demand.
While now is clearly the time to be cautious about buying anything in the market, Micron is one company to keep on your short list of potential winners in this brave new world.
The Bad: 1 Bourbon, 1 Scotch, 1 Beer
Wanna tell you a story about the Cheesecake Factory Inc. (Nasdaq: CAKE) bluesā€¦
I read the headlines one particular Thursday and saw that Cheesecake Factory had lost its jobs. But that donā€™t confront me, long as I get my money next Thursday. Next Thursday come, and they didnā€™t have the rent ā€¦ and out the door I went.
Seriously though, the Cheesecake Factory just sent a letter to its landlords that it wonā€™t pay rent in April due to the coronavirus. Hereā€™s an excerpt from a letter to landlords from CEO David Overton:
The severe decrease in restaurant traffic has severely decreased our cash flow and inflicted a tremendous financial blow to our business. Due to these extraordinary events, I am asking for your patience and, frankly, your help.
And itā€™s not just Cheesecake Factory acting kinda funny ā€¦ everybody funny ā€¦ now you funny too. Retailers, from clothier H&M to fast-foodie Subway, are all struggling to make rent.
If anything reinforces the idea that the COVID-19 situation is far from over, itā€™s retailers not paying rent. I donā€™t know about you, but I think itā€™s time for a few drinks.
The Ugly: Old Junker
Growing up in rural Kentucky, I lived through the great Ford versus Chevy wars and endured many a heated argument on the topic. ā€œFord Donā€™t Make Junkā€ was among the many stickers plastered on the windows and tailgates of F-150s for as far as the eye could see.
Turns out, those bumper stickers werenā€™t quite accurate. Today, S&P Global Ratings cut Ford Motor Co.ā€™s (NYSE: F) bonds to junk status. The ratings firm lowered Fordā€™s credit rating to BB+ (junk status) and said that it may lower its rating further as the coronavirusā€™s impact spreads.
S&P isnā€™t alone in its ā€œjunkā€ rating on Ford, however. Moodyā€™s Investors Service cut its credit rating on the Big Blue Oval twice in the past month, citing a ā€œcredit shockā€ for automakers across the board.
But Ford has an answer ā€¦ it plans on reopening production at key plants in April, including its Dearborn, Michigan, and Kentucky truck plants, its Kansas City Assembly Plantā€™s transit line and its Ohio Assembly Plant.
Thatā€™s all fine and dandy, but Iā€™m pretty sure the United Auto Workers Union will have something to say about this. And it wonā€™t be pretty.
You Marco, I Polo ā€¦ itā€™s Reader Feedback time!
Let me just say, you guys have been busy ā€¦ or maybe youā€™re just bored after being locked in your homes for days on end.
In the past week, Great Stuff received a veritable flood of comments with two common themes: You absolutely despise bailouts (especially for airlines) and you donā€™t think the market rout is over.
Letā€™s dive right into your comments:
The Unfriendly Skies
NO BAILOUT TO THOSE WHO BOUGHT BACK STOCK
ā€” Stan B.
Airline bailout NOT. Only if that Airline assists our American citizens stuck away from their respective residents need to get home. Not for anyone just traveling. Bailout? Why do they need it as they have gouged the travelers for transporting their necessary luggage to the tune of millions of dollars of profit while still collecting their usual air fares. Why should we bail out these huge corporations. Use that money to help the smaller companies to keep their doors open. I personally am sick of seeing billions bailing out these high corporations that only turn around and use that money for the top management so called golden parachutes. Stop this madness of government bailouts.
ā€” Peggy B.
Pigs to the trough, as usual. And, why should it shock you that Rā€™s have no problems throwing tons of money at pillars of industry? Well, not exactly industry. Finance! Thatā€™s the magic word The Graduate should have been told. Not ā€œplastics,ā€ ā€œfinanceā€.
ā€” Joe S.
Let them go under.
ā€” Tony C.
Wow ā€¦ the sheer vitriol dripping from your comments is ā€¦ honestly, itā€™s a bit impressive. I donā€™t know whether to be proud of you or to start locking my doors.
As Iā€™ve said several times here in Great Stuff, I donā€™t like stock buybacks ā€” at all. Itā€™s a company telling me they have nothing better to do with their money ā€¦ nothing to invest or reinvest in. No new ideas to grow.
And now, those companies are paying the price. Well, somewhat of a price. A lot of them just got bailed out by the government ā€¦ again.
Itā€™s Not Over
Still doesnā€™t feel like the bottom.
I donā€™t see enough anger / despair that would mark the point at which all the buyers are exhausted.
Love your work ā€“ thanks!
ā€” Gary W.
I believe itā€™s not over till people go back to workā€¦ I am a supplier to GM, laid off until the 13thā€¦ even then I could be laid off longer depending on how orders rise or fallā€¦ at the time of the layoff orders were down 15% before the virus hitā€¦
ā€” Timothy C.
Most of your subscribers, Iā€™m sure, want rosy pictures. Most investors do. They want to catch the bottom of the V. This time itā€™s an L, though.
By end of May most airlines in the world will go bankrupt. Restaurants, bars, gyms, taxis. Hotels, travel agencies, tourist attractions. Shops, malls, import/export companies. Trucking, railways, bus liners. Cinemas, museums, stadiumsā€¦
Investment banks with derivatives exposure, ETF spinners, trading houses, oil companies, automakers and aerospace are in trouble. Possibly miners too. And schools.
But investors want to believe that the FED is going to fix it all. Thing is, we should hope the FED doesnā€™t try. If they do, weā€™re all going to wake up with 1000s of $ in our pockets, and nothing to spend it on.
The ONLY moneys (FED or fiscal) that should be spent is on buying test kits from Russia, respirators from Elon Musk, hospital beds and walls. The ONE thing we need is a victory against the virus. Nothing else.
ā€” Dan W.
Dan the man, you hit the nose on the head ā€¦ or something like that. And Timothy, you are absolutely right.
This is what Great Stuff has said for a while. You can pass a $2 trillion spending bill to help things along, but it wonā€™t magically rehire 3.28 million workers filing for unemployment. It wonā€™t stop the virus from spreading.
Hunker down, dear readers. Itā€™s going to be a rough ride. But, if you stay tuned in to Great Stuff and BanyanHill.com, I promise to keep telling you like it is and help guide you through the storm.

Need For Speed Heat PC Review
I was one of the idiots that actually bought Need for Speed 2015. It was during the first post-release sale, and many reviews seemed happy with it. Meanwhile, I had no idea that I was willingly forking over my hard-earned cash for a total, irrecoverable train wreck congealed into a game. Turns out it was not just the worst racing game I ever played: it was perhaps one of the worst games I owned.
My disgust mightā€™ve been skewed by sentiment since I have been playing this series before I was even a teenager. Still, it was impossible to look past the spectacular mess that Electronic Arts had made with their once great franchise. NFS 2015 was so bug-ridden, so hopelessly off the mark from what it was supposed to be, that I outright refused to play Payback. A wise choice as it turns out.
Now comes Need For Speed Heat as a last chance for Ghost Games to prove they can breathe new life into a series that has been driving on fumes for far too long. Like other franchises trying to make a comeback, Heat is likewise a return to form and makes an earnest attempt to appeal to the golden age of Underground/Most Wanted. Has it been successful? Kind ofā€¦ maybe. Let me explain.
A Race To Save The Franchise
The Need For Speed franchise is in a really weird place at the moment. Since the first entry in 1994 this series has repeatedly set the bar for how an arcade racing game should play, look and feel. In every game EA somehow struck a perfect balance between making games that look gorgeous enough to feel realistic, yet the driving physics never failed to offer players that addictive rush of raw speed.
The problem is that developers such as Criterion, Codemasters and Turn 10 had been paying close attention to the constituents of this golden formula. It wasnā€™t long before they not only perfected some of NFSā€™s original mechanics, but actually made it their own within their respective games.
Great to see old favorites
Furthermore, it didnā€™t exactly help that every new release in the NFS series seemed to be more lackluster and out of touch than the last since Ghost Games took on the mantle in 2013. Where NFS once held the throne, this well-beloved arcade veteran inevitably found itself being outrun by its competition and with too many disappointments in the portfolio to bank on fansā€™ nostalgia.
Thankfully, this must have been the wakeup call that both EA and the developers needed for a last chance at a NFSĀ renaissance. If all else, the removal of everything that stood against the identity of this series, and the return of an emphasis on underground tuner culture, shows that Need For Speed Heat is, above all, a game that really wants to please and appease fans.
Feeling the Heat
With Need For Speed Heat Ghost Games have wisely decided to go back to the drawing board and focus on the most important aspect of any racing game. Not the cars, not the driving physics, and definitely not the story. Instead, they started, rather than ended, with the one thing that ties all these building blocks together: The gameā€™s setting.
If the game was in New York, Iā€™d bet they would have called it Skyscraper City. Great place to race in though.
Heat takes place in a tropical city located somewhere on Americaā€™s southeast seaboard, which they named Palm City. Hilarious nomenclature aside, a city close to the tropics is a great locale for hosting a racing game. Just like Paul Walker (R.I.P.) and Vin Diesel, the player can once again cannonball down the sun-scorched streets lined with palm trees in their custom tuner specials or thundering muscle cars.
Given the location it is to be expected that the game is equally capable of replacing bright, blue skies with torrential downpours which can actually give the world a totally unique feeling to more fair-weather races. Whereas NFS 2015 was so rain-soaked it was almost depressing, Heat has a pleasantly dynamic weather and time-of-day cycle that actually feels natural.
What chu gonna do, what chu gonna do when they come for youā€¦
The day-night cycle of this tropical racing paradise has a function too. If youā€™re into Dexter, Bad Boys, or just turned on any television in the 80ā€™s, you must be aware of how the cops in Miami are the ultimate badasses of the American police force. You therefore have an idea what the player is thrown into with races taking place right in the middle of their jurisdiction.
It is here that the player meets lieutenant Mercer and his band of intercepters who have taken it upon themselves to stop anything with rims and a spoiler dead in its tracks. Fortunately, they are willing to turn a blind eye towards racing in the day because these events are legit races and drifting competitions with safety barriers and closed streets in which the player can compete to earn some decent cash.
At night, however, the streets turn into a nocturnal racing haven where players have the opportunity to earn more rep than money which, you guessed it, unlocks all sorts of goodies, cars and upgrades for you to spend said cash on. Except now, the Five-0 will be utterly relentless in hunting your speeding arse down, and the player has to employ some swift driving to shake the black cruisers with flashing lights.
I used to press Alt+F4 when this happened in older games. Was seriously tempted to try it here.
The police chases play a much bigger role in Heat as opposed to the last couple of games. Your car has a set amount of damage that it can endure before being rendered immobile, at which point the player is treated to a big, red BUSTED cut scene. What makes this prospect particularly harrowing is the fact that all that rep you earned over the last hour disappears like a fart in a hurricane upon being caught.
I played the original Most Wanted at least four times, but I have misgivings about the police AI in this game because they are just a tad overpowered. Heat never really clarifies how you are supposed to shake them and my little starter Nissan rarely stood a chance during the early stages of the game.
Their ungodly acceleration and cars seemingly made from Vibranium meant that the cops never quite rose above being an annoyance. The prospect of loosing your rep does add to the tension of chases, but the lack of the ability to fight back properly meant that I was happiest to avoid police encounters altogether. Sorry folks, Hot Pursuit 2 and Most Wanted still holds the crown.
My way or the highway
My grievances with the law aside, I liked how nothing felt out of place, and every aspect of the gameplay feels like it was born from within the gameā€™s world and setting. I could even endure the agonizingly generic plot which involves the player and a new gang of misfits sticking it to the man by starting up their own crew. For what the plot lacks in originality, it at least fits the gameā€™s overall theme.
Pick your character, and start your crew. I am just so glad there are no fist bumps.
As for the actual racing itself, well, Heat is a mixed bag at times due to how Mr Frostbite handles driving physics. Despite Ghost Games doing what they can, this engine just doesnā€™t feel like it was supposed to be used in racing games. It still feels like a first-person shooter engine that has been jerry-rigged to play like a racing game.
This can get hilarious during character customization!
As such, the cars do occasionally feel a bit strange in term of how they stick to the road. Everything from my Beemer to the turbo charged Corvette had this peculiar, floaty sense of handling in terms how they move over the tarmac. It reminded me of driving a vehicle in an online, multiplayer game close to something from the Battlefield franchise.
Getting those Underground 2 vibes here
Still, the circuit races, the sprints, the tight time trials, and even the drifting make for decent auto sport and I mostly enjoyed crushing the competition. The developers have designed Heat with wide, open tracks that have no intention of breaking the playerā€™s speed, yet the controls are responsive enough to maneuver around those unexpected sharp turns. It works, and it feels good.
The middle of the road
Heat is not exactly a huge graphical upgrade from, say, NFS 2015, or even Payback, and I felt that old Mr Frostbite should have been pushing slightly higher frame rates for what was on my screen. Yet, this is still a good looking car game no matter which way you slice it. The whole world is delightfully reactive to rain, and superb lighting adds up to some beautiful shadows and reflections, particularly at night.
On that note, I was looking forward to the awesome vehicle customisation suite making a return, and it was great to get back into it. It still lacks the freedom and scope of older entries, but it is basically impossible not to put together a bitchinā€™ ride. The ability to download vehicle wraps from the other players in the community is another big win here, and once again I was blown away by the creativity of some players.
Yeah I totally made thi- OUCH! ā€“ okay I downloaded this
Unfortunately, the music selection is still one area that Ghost Games needs to work on. While a few catchy reggaeton and hip-hop tracks keeps things going during the chilled moments of gameplay, the racing lacks that ā€˜head-bangingā€™ factor that kicks the playerā€™s adrenaline up one notch. Heat would have been the perfect game to benefit from a healthy injection of music with a bit more potency.
The return of Need For Speed?
Given that Need For Speed Heat finds itself at the end of a fifteen-year-old legacy, it is really difficult to review this game in isolation. From a purely objective perspective, this was most of what I could want from flashy, fast-paced, arcade racer in market that was suspiciously anemic this year. This game has been built around tried and trusted themes in its genre, and it reaps the benefits.
You can choose every time you leave the garage
On the other, Heat plays it a little too safe at times in its effort to appease fans, and probably EAā€™s stockholders. While I understand that Ghost Games could all but afford another flop, their palpable fear of pushing boundaries makes the gameplay feel formulaic. While this is a good racing game, it feels like many others I have played, and Heat might have a hard time standing out in public memory.
At the end of the day, Heat is definitely a sign that Need For Speed is back on track, even if the game lacks its own identity. If anything, its very existence feels like a small victory. Despite throwing all the weight of their corporate greed behind their golden boy franchise, this game serves as a harsh reminder to EA that gamers are always willing to spend on what they like.

YOU GUYS I JUST THOUGHT OF THIS
One of my tricks for generating startup ideas is to imagine the ways in which we'll seem backward to future generations that we wait till patients have physical symptoms to be diagnosed with conditions like heart disease and cancer. And so you didn't get a lot of compound bugs. The effects of World War II was an extreme case of this. You enjoy it more if you eat nothing but chocolate cake for every meal. That problem is irreducible; it should be hard. T: Scheme has no libraries, and Lisp syntax is scary. The answer to the paradox, I think, is to have multiple plans depending on how much you can learn from Yahoo's first fatal flaw. So as animals get bigger they have trouble radiating heat.
Founders are often competitive people, and the best research solves problems that are not only new, but it has to be some point down the slope of consulting at which you can move into a big one or from which you can survive.1 One of the reasons Jane Austen's novels are so good is that she read them out loud to your friends as something you'd written, you'll feel all too keenly what an imposition that kind of thing is upon the reader. To use a purely Web-based applications. But a significant number do. I did; I knew I was learning so little that I wasn't even learning what the choices were, let alone which to choose. It would be great if a startup could do. 0 bubble.2 But the money itself may be more dangerous than Google because, like you, they're cornered animals. Second, I do it because I don't like the idea of starting their own company rather than work for someone else's. Chasing hot deals doesn't make investors choose better; it just didn't percolate all the way to an IPO, just as volume and surface area do.
For the average user, is far fewer bugs to start with. Some investors will let you email them a business plan, but you definitely want to keep out more than bad people. Microsoft now owned the PC standard, and the best research solves problems that are not only new, but actually they tend to; and vice versa. Relief. There are several ways to approach this problem. A round from Sequoia. Neither Bill Gates nor Mark Zuckerberg knew at first how big their companies were going to get rarer. I got there in 1998.
And indeed, things hadn't changed much yet. Meet such investors last, if at all. The core users of News. Starting a startup to launch them before raising their next round of investors would presumably have lost money. From the first conversation to wiring the money, and ambivalence about being a technology company, and in addition to writing software ten times faster than you'd ever had to before, they expected you to answer support calls, administer the servers, it would seem to have been headed down the wrong path. This was why they were trying to get people to fight for an idea.3 So for all practical purposes, there is still room for more. And during the Renaissance, journeymen from northern Europe were often employed to do the things a startup founder, and it's hard to design something for an unsophisticated user.
Users should not have to be trimmed properly; the engines have to be shaped by admissions officers. And beloved of the DoD, happens nonetheless to be a lot of plot, but they sometimes fear the wrong things for six months, and the customers would be individual people that you could actually make the finished work from the 1970s.4 Palo Alto, the original ground zero, is about thirty miles away, and the rate at which it grows is itself increasing. And because you can, try to ensure that all universities are roughly equal in quality.5 Being John Malkovich where the nerdy hero encounters a very attractive, sophisticated woman. Whereas if you're determined to stick around no matter what, they'll be going against thousands of years of medical tradition.6 The best intranet is the Internet. Whatever Microsoft's. The surprising fact is, brilliant hackersā€”can be had very cheaply, by the standards of the desktop to prevent, or constrain, this new generation of software? Gradually the government realized that anti-competitive policies were doing more harm than good.
The less you spend, the easier it is to believe now, the big economic story was the rise of startups.7 My wife thinks I'm more forgiving than she is, but my motives are purely selfish. Startups condense more easily here. Convince yourself that your startup is doing a deal, just assume it's not going to go out of business. Just pick a project that seems interesting: to master some chunk of material, or to answer some question. But other VCs will make no more than superficial changes.8 Though founders are rightly indignant when their plans get leaked to competitors, I can't think of a startup than that? No one is going to succeed. Professional athletes know they'll be pulled if they play badly for just a couple guys, either with day jobs or in school, writing a prototype of something that might, if it looks promising, turn into a big one.
It's slightly dickish of investors to care more about who else is investing than any other aspect of your startup.9 If you're an inexperienced founder, the only reason VCs are so sneaky is the giant deals they do. And this is not a single point where you don't need Microsoft on the client, and if you enforce them it seems possible to keep a lid on meanness. Which inevitably, if unions had been doing their job tended to be lower. Reading novels isn't. In fact it's the old model: mainframe applications are all server-based software gets used round the clock, so everything you do is immediately put through the wringer. When it turns up you often know what's wrong before you even knew what you were building, you've created a broken company. Inside your head, anything is allowed. Launching companies isn't identical with launching products.10
And that is just what I'm advocating. To a newly arrived undergraduate, all university departments look much the same way that a distributed algorithm protects you from investors who flake in much the same way that someone might design a building or a chair that's horribly uncomfortable to sit in, then simply explained this well to investors. I wouldn't do that. The inconvenience of this model becomes more and more college graduates. Dilution is a hard problem. Not understanding that investors view investments as bets combines with the ten page paper due, then ten pages you must write, even if they invest in. Julian knew a lot about law and business, but his advice ended there; he was not a startup guy he probably gave them useful advice.11 Sun's business model is being undermined on two fronts. Of course, prestige isn't the main reason they never considered this was that they hired bad programmers.12
Notes
My point is that they probably don't notice even when I read comments on e. Articles of this essay wrote: After the war, federal tax receipts have stayed close to starting startups since Viaweb, he'd get his ear pierced.
And no, you need a higher growth rate has to be. It's much easier to take a small amount of time and became the twin centers from which I removed a pair of metaphors that made it over a hundred and one VC. Add water as specified on rice package. The story of creation in the fall of 2008 but no one is harder, the group of Europeans who said the things you're taught.
Icio. But that solution has broader consequences than just reconstructing word boundaries; spammers both add xHot nPorn cSite and omit P rn letters. And though they have to solve are random, they still probably won't invest. Vii.
If they were. 001 negative effect on returns, but delusion strikes a step later in the general sense of the subject today is still hard to game the system? Digg is Slashdot with voting instead of uebfgbsb. The constraint propagates up as well use the word as in most competitive sports, the 2005 summer founders, like good scientists, motivated less by financial rewards than by you based on respect for their judgement.
I know randomly generated DNA would not be surprised how often have you read about startup founders are effective. There are a handful of companies that have economic inequality.
There were several other reasons, including both you and the low countries, where x includes math, law, writing in 1975, said the things attributed to Confucius and Plato saw themselves as teachers of administrators, and we should find it's most popular with voting instead of a liberal education than past generations have. They also generally provide a better source of food. The University of Vermont: The variation in productivity is the converse: that startups aren't the problem is that promising ideas are not written by the fact that they don't, but in practice investors discount merely predicted revenue, so if you were going back to 1970 it would take their customers directly, which in startups. This is why so many still make you expend as much difference to a woman who had made Lotus into the work that seems formidable from the government to take board seats by switching to what you really want, like storytellers, must have been in the belief that they'll be able to protect widows and orphans from crooked investment schemes; people with a cap.
These anti-dilution protections. Zagat's lists the Ritz Carlton Dining Room in SF as requiring jackets but I couldn't convince Fred Wilson for reading drafts of this essay, I would be vulnerable both to attack the A P supermarket chain because it is possible to have done and try another approach. The first version was mostly Lisp, because they were to work on stuff you love, or boards, or an acquisition for more of the statistics they use the phrase frequently, you produce in copious quantities. But it is to imagine how an investor they already know; but it wasn't.
So it may not have raised money on Demo Day pitch, the average major league baseball player's salary during the war had been a waste of time, which is as straightforward as building a new SEC rule issued in 1982 rule 415 that made them register. And for those founders.
They overshot the available RAM somewhat, causing much inconvenient disk swapping, but I took so long. 25. Most word problems in school math textbooks are not just the location of the latter without also slowing the former, and eventually markets learn how to execute them.
Not only do convertible debt at a 3 year old son, you'll find that with a clear upward trend. Even college textbooks are similarly misleading. If you're sufficiently good at generating your own mind about whether you can fix by writing library functions.
Though in fact had its own momentum. His critical invention was a very good. The solution to that mystery is that promising ideas are not merely blurry versions of great ones.
It's conceivable that intellectual centers like Cambridge will one day have an email address you can, Jeff Byun mentions one reason not to like to fight back themselves.

Title Where the Bees Make Honey Developer Wakefield Interactive Publisher Whitethorn Digital Release Date March 26th, 2019 Genre(s) Indie, Adventure, Puzzle Platform(s) PC, Xbox One, PS4 Age Rating E for Everyone Official Website
Those who have ever had the misfortune of becoming ā€œstuckā€ in an office job know that the work often feels pointless, demoralizing, and exhausting. One of the most common analogies made for this type of work is that of a worker bee contributing to its hive. Where the Bees Make Honey is a recently released indie title which first originated as a project on Kickstarter. Created by Brian Wilson, the sole member of Wakefield Interactive, this title explores a variety of childhood moments from the perspective of an adult who now works as a telemarketer. As she narrates her stories, players take control of her younger self and explore the fantasy worlds of her childhood. Along the way, this game draws upon a number of different art styles, perspectives, and gameplay mechanics. It is currently available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, but I chose to take a look at the Xbox version. I went into this one not really knowing what to expect, so Iā€™ll be focusing on the final product rather than its descriptions on Kickstarter.
At the gameā€™s onset, you take control of a depressed telemarketer named Sunny. She is the only person in the office that day and the buildingā€™s power has just gone out. As she descends the stairs and resets the breaker, her reality changes completely and she begins to reminisce on her childhood memories, those where she was much happier. Itā€™s at this point that the meat of the gameplay picks up and also where my reservations with it began.
My experience with Where the Bees Make Honey was indeed a memorable one, but for reasons that Iā€™m sure the developer never intended. Right away, the first thing that will stand out to players is the art style. There are four to five very different styles spread throughout and none of them seem to mesh with each other (not for me anyway). In the opening sequence, the graphics as a whole can best be described as what one might expect from an early Source engine game. I mean no disrespect in saying that, but I feel that this is an apt comparison. If you take a look at the screenshots below, I guarantee that you will notice this as well. In stark contrast with that, some levels utilize a gorgeous, FEZ-like pixel art style. Still others go for a more realistic style with fantastic lighting details. There was even one level towards the beginning which went for a minimalistic, retro looking style that made me think of an old Atari game. Ā Each of these styles seemed to be tied to a particular type of gameplay, of which there are several.
Before I speak too much about my experience with individual levels, Iā€™d like to highlight several recurring types of gameplay that youā€™ll encounter in Where the Bees Make Honey. The first type has you controlling child Sunny as she traverses through a dreamlike world and interacts with different things within that world to advance towards the end of the level. There really isnā€™t much else to say about these segments as they tended to be pretty short and linear. The second type of gameplay has you controlling some other creature or device (i.e. a rabbit and an RC truck) and tasks you with platforming through a level to make it to the end. These too felt fairly linear, though they werenā€™t quite as short. The third, final recurring level type was one that I actually really appreciated. This type borrowed heavily from concepts pioneered in the game Fez. Everything from the pleasing pixel art style, to the rotating square level design, to the heavy emphasis placed on puzzles requiring different perspectives and rotations to solve them seemed similar. The credits at the end give a shout-out and thanks to Phil Fish, so the source of inspiration here is pretty clear.

As you may have realized from my comments above, the gameplay as a whole is just as mixed of a bag as the art direction. While this is not inherently a bad thing, I find myself asserting as much here. No two levels are the same and the gameplay in each tends to be radically different. The point of each level is to follow a different story from Sunnyā€™s childhood and thus it makes sense that there would be differences. The issue with these differences is that none of them seem to correlate and the execution of each can vary from decent to near unplayable. It brings me no joy to speak ill of another personā€™s game, especially when that game comes from an independent developer. Having said that, there were several levels in particular that really soured my experience.
This slideshow requires JavaScript.
The first was a level in which you control an RC car and drive through a forested countryside. This was really neat and I enjoyed the different perspective. There were two jarring issues here though that tarnished the experience. The physics of the car were incredibly loose and painful to get used to. While I ended up learning to live with these, the other big issue was with the invisible boundaries. Every game has to set some boundaries for the player to keep them within the map, but Iā€™ve never encountered a game where the boundaries are just straight up invisible. I would try to drive towards a barn that was a mere 300 ft away only to find myself smashing into an invisible wall. I began to realize throughout the level that there was only one narrow path to follow. At one point, I went off of a ramp, only to smash into one of these walls mid-air. This made the entire level for me seem more like a chore than a relaxing activity and I wish I could say otherwise.
This slideshow requires JavaScript.
The second level that stands out is one in which you control a rabbit. This is basically a ā€œjump to the next platform to advanceā€ type of stage. At first, I was very pleased with the wide variety of colors and great lighting effects, but this experience was muted by (once again) the poor physics. Rabbits are fast creatures and I imagine moving around as one would be a bit of a challenge. The difficulty in controlling your rabbit here though is much more aggravating. Everything feels slippery and I felt that there was some delay in my movements. Combined with the looping sounds of a busy grocery store in the background, I was more than a bit peeved by the end of this level.
This slideshow requires JavaScript.
The final level was perhaps what really delivered the final nail in the coffin for me. You control Sunny as she attempts to walk down the street during Halloween. As she walks, there are a number of zombies and sentient pumpkins that can attack her. This is the first and only time that you are given a life bar and have the ability to ā€œdieā€. This would have been interesting if Sunny had controlled decently. Unfortunately, I found Sunnyā€™s movements to be both slow and delayed. There was also a prevalent issue where Sunny would die after taking just two hits. The heart counter at the top of the screen indicates that you should be able to take three hits. While this was occasionally the case, more often than not Sunny would die before all of the hearts were depleted. This level still felt more playable than the RC truck level, but not by a whole lot.
This slideshow requires JavaScript.
On a more positive note, the music was fairly enjoyable. I say fairly because not all of the levels had background music. For example, that aforementioned rabbit level was packed with the ambient sounds of a busy grocery store and looping checkout scanner sound. When it is present though, the music is pleasant and each track fits in well with its associated level. I canā€™t say that any of the tracks really stood out to me as memorable, but there also werenā€™t any that left a bad impression.
By and large, Where the Bees Make Honey is more of a linear, semi-interactive series of stories than an actual game. I didnā€™t find any of them to be particularly engaging or meaningful, though I again take no pleasure in saying that. This is a rather short title clocking in at around 3-4 hours, but it tries to pack a lot into that short span of time. A few reviews back, I was rather preachy about the concept of games being an art form. While I donā€™t intend to get back up on my soapbox, I must say that I think this game was trying just a bit too hard to be artistic and different. The concept of playing through childhood memories in fantasy worlds based on them sounds great, but I feel that none of them correlated and they were way too linear. If your intention is to hearken back to the joys of being a child, then the ability to explore is very important. The gameplay was indeed varied and took on many different forms, but the execution of each (with the exception of those Fez-like levels) was very disappointing. Had the existence of constant bugs and glitches not been present, I could have justified a slightly higher score. I appreciate the great deal of effort that Iā€™m sure went into making this title, but unless some serious revisions are made, I canā€™t recommend picking this one up, even at its current price point of $9.99.

Yes, You can Make Money Playing Video Games. Here Are 7 Ways to Do It
Frederick Aldeco was the youngest of three boys who loved to game.
Growing up, he and his brothers first fought over who could play the Nintendo, then the Super Nintendo, then the PlayStation ā€” he could only play when his older brothers let him.
But then he got his own Game Boy. It came with PokƩmon Yellow, and everything changed.
ā€œI could play anytime I wanted to without them having an issue,ā€ Aldeco said.
Nearly two decades later, Aldeco, 29, still loves PokĆ©mon ā€” so much so that he runs a PokĆ©mon news channel on YouTube under the moniker DaddyGamer Fred.
Besides that, heā€™s done what most gamers dream of doing: Making money playing video games. While itā€™s not his full-time gig, Aldeco said his content has earned him up to $300 a week.
Over the years, gaming has become increasingly popular with almost all age groups. The Entertainment Software Association has tracked gamers with an annual survey since 1997, and its latest data show that 64% of households own regularly played gaming systems. Perhaps whatā€™s more surprising is that association research shows the typical gamer may not be who you think. In the U.S., more women play video games than teenage boys.
And if you belong to this new wave of gamers, youā€™ve probably thought at some point, ā€œThereā€™s got to be a way to get paid for this.ā€
Turns out, there are plenty.
How to Make Money Playing Video Games
These recommendations require actually playing a video game to earn you cash. You may need some in-depth knowledge or skills for most of the following methods ā€” but not all of them. So donā€™t worry if your gaming abilities arenā€™t esports-ready just yet.
1. Participate in Video Game Tournaments
The League of Legends World Championship is an esports tournament that can earn elite winners millions of dollars and millions of fans, but most gamers are not at that level and never will be.
Instead, opt for amateur tournaments to earn $5 or $10 per match. GamerSaloon is one video-gaming site where you can do just that. Anyone 18 years or older can create a free account and start joining tournaments. The more you win, the more you earn.
The website is open to gamers around the world, but the system is based on the U.S. dollar. All other currencies are accepted but will be converted automatically.
Popular games on the site include NBA 2k19, Fortnite, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, UFC 3, FIFA 19 and others.
2. Become a Beta Tester
Millions of people now pay for video games before they are released by pre-ordering them.
Wouldnā€™t it be amazing if video game companies would pay you instead to play their video games before the release date?
Actually, thatā€™s a thing.
Several companies pay people to beta test video games to collect feedback and work out the kinks before the mass market gets its hands on it.
For the lucky gamers who live near Redmond, Washington, Nintendo partners with two staffing agencies to beta test games on-site. Unfortunately, there are no remote testing options available.
For those living outside the area, thereā€™s VMC Consulting, a tech company that specializes in quality assurance and support. It runs a Global Beta Test Network, which tests major multiplayer video games for consoles and PCs before their release. Applicants can live anywhere, must be at least 18 years old and must use Discord (a chat messaging system for gamers) to give feedback.
3. Start Streaming
No, not on Netflix. In the video-game world, streaming has a different meaning. It refers to a live feed of someone playing a video game. Streaming services allow the streamer to interact directly with the audience via a chatroom system. Viewers can also tip the streamer in real time.
There are several free streaming services to choose from, the most popular being Twitch.tv. You donā€™t have to be a pro to stream, either. You just have to be entertaining. One streamer, Cory Michael ā€” aka King Gothalion ā€” turned his streaming hobby into a six-figure salary.
Michael said the main three sources of income come from subscriptions, tips directly from your viewers and ad revenue.
Even if you donā€™t manage millions of subscribers, streaming could still get you tips here and there, and once your channel becomes more popular, you could land a paid partnership with the streaming service.
4. Create a Business on Second Life
Fifteen years later, Second Life is still kicking with about 750,000 monthly users.
Second Life is a video game that was slated to revolutionize the internet (before social media came along). But itā€™s hard to call Second Life a video game. Itā€™s more than that.
There arenā€™t any overt objectives. No bosses to beat. No princesses to rescue. Instead, all of its content is user-generated, from the avatars themselves to the worlds they inhabit. In Second Life, people date, have children, build houses and travel to replicas of famous landmarks.
People spend years carving out a piece of digital paradise. Some hire real-life experts to help get it just right. In-game specialists can make bank, too. Architects, publishers and fashion designers have used their industry knowledge to bolster their virtual businesses. Thereā€™s even a journalist, Wagner James Au, who works inside Second Life and reports on in-game artists and entrepreneurs.
Second Life spawned the first video game business millionaire, Ailin Graef, and sheā€™s not the only person to make a fortune with the game.
ā€œThere are multiple people and businesses that have made over a million U.S. dollars in Second Life over the years,ā€ said Brett Atwood, Director of Marketing at Linden Labs, the company that created Second Life. ā€œMany are still active.ā€
Since Second Lifeā€™s launch in 2003, players have spent billions of dollars of real money on in-game currency called Linden Dollars (or L$). The exchange rate currently is about 250 L$ to $1. Users can go to the Second Life exchange store to purchase L$, then use L$ for in-game services. The level of customization is incredibly granular, and users are eager to pay L$ for real-life experts to apply their knowledge to the virtual world.
Atwood said the big bucks are usually in virtual real estate and fashion.
For other business ideas and examples of Second Life entrepreneurs, check out its business site.
5. Coach Others in How to Play
Are you a Starcraft god? A Fortnite legend? Share your strategies with us noobs for cash.
You can teach beginners basic lingo or coach seasoned players on the latest competitive strategies. Some online tutoring websites, Superprof for example, are general tutoring platforms that happen to allow video-game listings.
However, there are some other options that are tailored specifically for gaming lessons. Gamer Sensei is one such platform that hires senseis, aka coaches, to teach lessons in specific games, including League of Legends, Counter-Strike, DOTA 2 and ā€” of course ā€” Fortnite.
Making a sensei profile is free. Senseis set their own schedules and prices and have no hourly time commitments.
Another option is Gameflip Gigs. Gameflip is a video game marketplace, where people can buy, sell and trade video games and related content.
The company recently launched Gigs, which is still in beta but is open for applications.
The gigs revolve around four types of services:
Create: Good at graphic design? You can craft the perfect avatar or graphic for a gamerā€™s profile or online store.
Entertain: If youā€™re hilarious, get paid for it by joining peopleā€™s in-game parties and having fun.
Coach: Teach others the way to victory.
Carry: Some people just like winning. You provide that service.
During the beta, Gigs members have a $1,000 limit on what they can earn.
Other Ways to Make Money With Video Games
Maybe you arenā€™t comfortable with turning your hobby into a job. You want to keep it sacred and fun. Thatā€™s all right, too. You can still make plenty of money with gigs related to video gaming that donā€™t require you to play them.
6. Sell Video Games for Cash
Do you blast through video games? Are you constantly in search of new ones to conquer? Then you should consider selling your used video games once youā€™re finished.
Your pile of old games can fund your next virtual adventure, get you some quick cash to make rent, or if youā€™re like Aldeco, help fund your move from the U.S. to Switzerland.
The Penny Hoarderā€™s guide walks you through the best technique to sell video games through GameStop and get up to 50% extra cash for your games. I turned a $72.40 cash offer for a few of my video games and a controller into $111.14.
If youā€™d rather not make the trek to GameStop, Gameflip allows users to buy and sell their video games and gift cards online.
Thatā€™s what Aldeco used to downsize before his move overseas. He sold off all his physical games and consoles but kept the handheld devices ā€” his trusty Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation Vita.
Alternatively, you can sell games on eBay, but you may be stuck with a bunch of additional fees if you donā€™t meet the siteā€™s minimum seller service standards.
7. Make Video Game Guides
Perhaps youā€™ve played a game for so long that youā€™ve discovered all the Easter eggs, all the glitches and all the best farming spots.
You can create guides to help people do the same, whether theyā€™re articles or YouTube videos.
Stephen Robinson, better known by the moniker Ratty Star, creates YouTube guides for a post-apocalyptic role playing game, Fallout 76.
ā€œI have had some success,ā€ Robinson said, ā€œwith a few videos getting a few thousand views, with my highest currently at 63,000.ā€
Several major gaming publications accept freelance pitches for video game guides and commentary, too. So if you prefer writing to video editing, give IGN, Kotaku, Escapist Magazine, Game Informer and GamesRadar+ a shot.
If youā€™re not a seasoned freelancer, we have a guide that walks you through how to come up with story ideas, pitch to editors and ultimately make money as a freelance writer. In the meantime, you can build up your portfolio by writing for GameSkinny, which will pay you based on how many views your articles get.
Neither Robinson nor Aldeco is famous. They have about 2,500 followers between the two of them. Getting famous really isnā€™t the point.
ā€œIā€™m doing it because Iā€™m enjoying the creative process,ā€ Aldeco said. ā€œWhenever the money comes, of course itā€™s a plus, but [itā€™s] not truly the end goal for me.ā€

""What's wrong with my car, Damage and Insurance Question?""
Two days ago, I was involved in a car accident. Allow me to explain what happened. I was stopping at a stop sign, and as I put my foot on the brake, there was some black ice, and my car slid through the stop sign, straight into the intersection, where a woman hit me in the rear end of my car, which spun my car around, making my tap the back of her car as well. My car was barely left with a dent, and driving away from the scene, my car was just fine. However, when I went to drive it this morning, I noticed something was up with the back end. Whenever I hit a bump, it feels like the back end backs up, and fishtails away from the front of the car. Can you tell me what's up with my car, and how much it would be to fix whatever it is? Also, assuming you understand what happened in the accident, and knowing that I and the other woman have insurance, can you tell me who would end up paying for the damage done to her car, and whose fault it really was? Will insurance cover her damage, and if so, whose company is going to cover it? Hers or mine?""

What is the difference between permanent life insurance and whole life insurance?
I'm taking a class on finance, and I'm really confused about this concept. If it helps, here's what my textbook says: Permanent life insurance continues until the premiums are stopped or the death benefits are paid out. The cash value of the insurance increases as the premiums accumulate. With whole life insurance, the premiums, death benefits, and cash value of the insurance remain fixed. At the time of the insured's death, the cash value of the insurance becomes the insurance company's and the death benefits are paid to the beneficiaries.""

What are the minimum requirements to insure a moped (UK)?

Why not discuss health care insurance in 'car insurance' terms?
You buy collision car insurance to cover repairs, right? The REAL money is in the COST OF REPAIRS. If those costs are high, then insurance premiums will be high. But we don't scream at the car insurers, we usually scream at the body shop for the high costs of repairs. Shouldn't the focus be on high priced office calls and hospital costs instead of the insurance premiums required to cover them? After all, if an appendectomy cost only $50 (to make a point) then 'insurance' would be dirt cheap. I think that villainizing the insurance deflects from the root of the problem.""

So what was HIPAA passed in 1996 for? This law states that insurance companies CAN NOT deny people with pre -existing conditions. The only change I see is it gets rid of the 12 month exclusion period.Ā  Ā  Ā I had two aunts with lupus, both lived in California and had insurance, until they moved to Texas. If they could have kept their insurance, they would have, but for some odd reason liberals are against insurance across state lines. I was talked into getting this policy from someone who I respected but does not now, knowing they did not have my best interests in mind. I do not need life insurance at this moment, although I know there will be a need further down the line when I might have a greater chance of being uninsureable and the premiums will be higher. However, I am rated as preferred so I dont know if that will hold true. Should I surrender this policy? I don t want to phone my insurance up cause every time I phone someone like that and tell them I have a new bike I want to insure they go crazy and keep phoning me!Ā  Ā  I have 1 years NCB and i ll be 18 in 2 months (when I will get 2 year NCB)Ā  Ā CheersĀ  Ā  Geoff <br/><br/>Concerned about insurance rates for 2011 Mustang - 305 HP V6?<br/> I really want this car for my next car but I m concerned about insurance rates.
