GW2 ROLEPLAYERS

So. I've had this idea reserved for some time, now I finally have the drive and time to pull it off.

Y'know how the GW2 world/public RP scene is kinda well, barely existent? I have an idea that may resurrect it in some way.

This will be for US servers!

HERE WE ARE! This is my WORLD RP RESURRECTION PROJECT!

The idea is to basically make whole cities or areas the " RP event" for quite a few hours, so it's a faux event with no set premise and is only really there to drag people to the area.

World sharding kinda broke random walk up RP for the most part, buuut what if there was some type of anchor point for a single shard?

I plan on being that anchor point, I'm going to select two days of the week and for about 5 hours a night/afternoon set up a squad for people to jump in and jump out of if they want, but at least everyone will be in the same shard. I will probably rotate through cities, meaning a different one each day, people can set up their own events or businesses for these days to make these places feel a lot more lived in, I would appreciate anyone reaching out to me if they are interested in doing such, a lot of coordination is going to help this kind of project in the long run. This will of course be headed by the efforts of a fairly small guild, any help will be extremely appreciated. We are currently deciding on what days this whole thing will be, might make a poll for it if people like this idea enough. The worst thing about having 13 alts in Final Fantasy XIV isn't the amount of repeated effort that goes into all of them, progressing them through the same content and the same grinds.

The worst thing is the nagging feeling that there should be 14 of them. Because that's what number the game is.

Hey, is having one guy ruining a match of dota (pubs mostly) a commonplace in all skill level or is it just because I'm still on the lower skill level here (I have 1k+ hours and I tried ranked for fun and get Crusader 3, I think)

The trench never ends. I have buddies in Immortal bracket that still get griefers, only sometimes in Divine / Immortal you also get account buyers so they're not actively griefing you, they're just horrifically outside of their proper skill level.

Dota 2 is really a game best played with friends. Playing solo is more of mental training in a gravity chamber, imo. I have become so much better at handling stress, fear, and frustration irl because even being harassed by the cops looking for bribe money is a simpler communication challenge than trying to get these goddamn animals in the SEA server to work together. Arguing that I deserve a raise at work is easy as shit compared to arguing with incredibly racist Asians that if the dog/pig/monkey/maid (that's me) loses the game, they will too on account of being on the same team, and what matters more to them, their hatred of me, or their rank?

They usually realize it's their rank.

back at it again with the game i've been hyperfixated on, and now the game i've been really into lately (especially now that my unxeplored save file is with the devs to hopefully fix what went wrong) is book of travels.

it is technically an mmorpg, though servers are set up in a way that you rarely encounter others (with whom you can only talk using emotes), for which the devs call the game a tmorpg. it plays close to a crpg, though, in the same vein that morrowind is an rpg. character creation takes you from creating a form (with associated proficiencies and different starting skills pools), selecting your starting skill, your given name, your background, your traits (the game forces you to select a negative trait, which i adore), and finally customizing your character. you are allowed to write a background for your character yourself. and with the right knot (i.e., skill) other players can read it, and so can you read theirs. then, you are dropped into the beautiful, painting like world of the braided shore.

the braided shore is beautiful with scenery going from lush wooded areas to rocky passes. here, the people communicate with knots and unbind them for magical effects. tea have mystical effects and there are sefra (which i think act like spirits?) can offer you boons. the game doesn't give you many specific goals, but there is plenty to explore, and plenty to learn from the many npcs. the devs have implemented an in-game journal where you can jot down your notes as of yesterday, but i've been enjoying using my own notebook. it's not a game for everyone, but if you like to immerse yourself in a different world without the expectation that you should do quests or dailies or what have you, it's great. there's still quests though.

it's currently in early access, though my limited time with it (steam says 16.3 hours) has shown me that in game content will change as time goes. currently, as the devs work on the capital of kasa, there is a plot about why the capital is closed. i imagine that when the city is accessible the world will change. so it feels like there is an added benefit to onboarding during early access.

Sorry this is a POTD rant 😭

I always get so close to soloing palace of the dead and getting that sweet title just for my runs to die to the server kicking me for bad connection! 😭

If I ever think of playing any POTD at America prime time its just "You experienced no lag but we will still kick you anyways" 😭 but playing UK morning time after I just woke up I end up messing up because I am still waking up! 😔

I don't get kicked playing other content, just POTD??? What is this bull? 😭 The one thing that will auto fail me to square one is the thing the server will kick me on????

I have been trying on and off for ages and only ever actually lost a run because I was dumb once due to not leaving enough time to finish the boss. It was level 180 and I am still So Mad at myself for it too 😭 Since then never broken 100 before I get a server kick!
