2023 in Review: Meta Edition
tag game: link your top and/or favorite posts/metas/gifs for each month of 2023
Since I already did this post just for my gifs (here) this feels even more self-indulgent but I was tagged by the lovely @ranchthoughts @troubled-mind and @lurkingshan so I will indulge myself and reflect on my writing in 2023.
I properly got started a bit later in the year, and it is interesting to look at my busiest months because I tended to either be in a gif mood or a meta mood, and often didn't overlap the two (in the fall, I made a lot of gifs, so wrote a lot less meta).
I often feel like they go hand in hand though, and gifs (like all types of fan creations) are a form of analysis/comparison/meta commentary. Either I have a meta idea that I can only convey visually, or the process of making a gif takes so much time I start to have meta thoughts about it, and sometimes I write those down.

May was my first meta month and my busiest.
top: Bad Buddy, Tragedy, and Queer Futures which is basically my Bad Buddy thesis statement and I loved making a scholarly bibliography for a meta
favorite: Wen as Observer in Moonlight Chicken which had ideas I returned to throughout the year in gif form (here and here)
honorable mentions because I wrote a lot this month: Pat's Shirts: An Extended Analysis (inspired by shirt analysis scholars like @dribs-and-drabbles, because I love taking silly things seriously and I made myself genuinely sad thinking about Pat's Hawaiian shirts); Conflict and Empathy in My School President and Kieta Hatsukoi (two shows very close to my heart for very similar reasons, and I love a comparative essay)

this one came as a shock to me. i haven't been keeping up well with mbs' bls, given that "eternal yesterday" scarred me for life. but knowing the original source, i saw the announcement of them doing this and thought, you know what, maybe it won't be so bad. it won't. and i got shocked at how much i love the actors, the setting, and the characters. i loved this series so much that my tiktok fyp page was filled with one of the actor's cute tiktok dances, and i guess that's just the algorithm for me.

you can already tell from the amount of gifsets i make that i love this bl. initially, i only watched because i know that my favorite bl scriptwriter, lin pei yu, who i've been a fan of since her first bl, was in charge of the series. but as it went on, i was begging for more because of how much the actors, the plot, the characters, and the setting draw me in. it will honestly become one of my most favorites after it finishes airing. the whole thing just gives off that history-trapped vibe that i've been yearning for in taiwanese bl for so long.

having read the original novel (go buy and read it. it's amazing), i was expecting this one to be just fine. now that a few episodes have been aired, i'm aware that they did some cutting from the novel to fit the lakorn-style series. still, the quality, acting, and chemistry are so good. i wasn't confident at first since it was directed by tee, but then again, you can't always judge a director from their other few series. especially since this one deals with heavy themes of identity, culture-bound issues, and history. so far so good. i think this might be a standout bl for this quarter.

one of the hit bl's that i personally wasn't a fan of at first, but then i saw how good their chemistry was and how well thought out the plot was. i was also shocked that even the actors themselves didn't expect this series to blow up because it was great from start to finish. one of my favorite scenes this year is that one scene where kitae had an emotional breakdown in front of wan.

this one surprised me the most. having released all their episodes in one day, i was shocked at how long they've kept this from us. it was filmed during the start of the pandemic, and it was only given to us this year. such an amazing drama series.
though one of the reasons why i found this amazing was watching it when i was sick, so i guess that contributed to it.

what i loved about this series is the length and character progression. it just goes to show that k-bl's have the potential to become full-length in the future.

another masterpiece made with love. i think there's not much i can say about this series other than it's one of those classic bl's. i recently recommended this to a friend for their first bl, and they loved it and became a fan instantly.

a bit controversial, but i think my own perception of this series was different than everyone else's. what i love about the series is its outstanding chemistry, easy-to-consume plot, and actors' visuals.
to me, this bl feels like thailand's first step in making korean bl. let me explain. one of the reasons why this series has some hint of thai production in it is because of the presence of high heat among the main characters.
now, a lot of people complain about the quality, but to me, it's fine. it's fine because it's not a series that's meant to be taken seriously, and it's also nonsensical for the sake of easy consumption among viewers. though i gotta say that the actors have great potential to be in other bl's as well.

currently reading: apart from all the fic in the world? I’ve been REALLY bad about reading actual books since the pandemic started -- I’ll read like half a novel in one sitting and then ignore it for months for no particular reason. Yesterday I read a few chapters of “The Fated Sky”, which is the second book in the Lady Astronauts series by Mary Robinette Kowal. I really really enjoy it! I have no idea why I’ve left it sit untouched after started it several month ago! And now I’ll probably ignore it again in favor of fic for a while. (I think it’s the mobility thing -- I like to read CONSTANTLY, which means fic on my phone has a huge advantage because it goes with me everywhere, while a physical book feels more like a Specific Choice That I Am Making With My Time Now.)
last song: According to the playlist I was listening to yesterday, Vienna Teng’s “Momentum”. I only really listen to music when I’m out for a walk.
last series: I am working my way through FX’s Trust in fits and starts while my wife is out of town (because I know she would have ZERO interest in it), which means I should probably finish it this weekend. It’s very, very well done and also very intense, so I’ll binge a few episodes in a row and then not watch again for a week. But Luca Marinelli is indeed deliciously unhinged in it, as promised by the twelve thousand Primo gifsets I’ve already seen. (Real MVP of the series is Brendan Fraser, though, he’s a goddamn delight.)
last movie: Eternals, which I enjoyed a lot more than I was expecting! I like that it was so deeply character-driven in a way that the MCU has strayed away from lately; unfortunately, the leading characters were by far the least interesting to me. More Phastos and Makkari and Gilgamesh (and Kingo, though he had plenty of screentime as the primary comic foil), please. I still kinda resent the comparisons to Old Guard, which did the immortality and relationships far, far better, but Eternals is telling a completely different story, so that helps.
sweet, savory, or spicy: All are good, but also, sweet all the way.
currently working on: I’ve been blocked for over a month now -- basically I haven’t written anything since posting the purpose of art. There has been a lot of traumatic emotional upheaval in my wife’s family this past month, and while I’m not directly impacted, it’s been...simultaneously A Lot and long empty stretches of nothing all at once, since there’s nothing I can do about any of it and my wife has been halfway across the country for weeks to be with them while I’m just here alone pretending to be productive at work, and my mental health has been kind of crap. So, yeah. This week I’ve been trying to force myself to finish the Finn/Poe soulmark fic I abandoned over a year ago, since if I can’t manage any new creative energy I might as well slog away at something I’ve long since lost the spark for anyway, and I’ve made a little progress there -- shuffling a few things around, hammering out connective tissue between scene fragments I’d already written, coming up with a workable if uninspired outline for the last chapter. I’m hoping my need to be DONE with this fucking WIP will beat off depression brain enough to actually finish it. I hate having it hang over my head. But yeah. It’s been a fucking miserable month. Figures that the ONE perk of having the apartment to myself for weeks is having plenty of time to write, so of course my brain goes on strike and I can’t write a damn thing.

Our understanding of art? Patriarchal! Eroticism in cinema? Stunted! The actress Adèle Haenel about her new film ‘Portrait of a Lady on Fire’.
In the film ‘Portrait of a Lady on Fire’, the young aristocrat Héloïse literally catches fire. Around 1770 she falls in love with a young painter, who is supposed to portray her. The role of the shy former convent student seems unusual for Haenel at first glance, who otherwise plays very assertive female characters: an AIDS activist in ‘120 BPM’, a martial artist in ‘Love at First Fight’, a doctor who solves a murder in ‘The Unknown Girl’. But Haenel also interprets the role of the muse as a very active one. The actress had her breakthrough in 2007 at the age of 18 with ‘Water Lilies’, the debut film by film-maker Céline Sciamma. The two were a couple for years. ‘Portrait of a Lady on Fire’ is their second collaboration, which was awarded the Best Screenplay (for Sciamma) at the Cannes Film Festival.
Haenel speaks German very well. She learned the language almost perfectly for Chris Kraus' feature film ‘The Bloom of Yesterday’. However, whenever she speaks German, she will always be so categorical, Haenel warns, and after a very German expletive slips into the conversation, she switches to French.
ZEIT ONLINE: In ‘Portrait of a Lady on Fire’ you play a restrained woman at first. Your Héloïse is supposed to be portrayed by a painter. She is the more experienced, a self-assured artist you fall in love with. But then you reinterpret the role of the muse.

Adèle Haenel: It's about equality. I believe that the role of the muse is in fact active - and as important as the official role of the artist.
ZE: What is the active part or equality in the relationship between you being the portrayed and the painter? And what's new about it?
AH: I think in art history, being a muse was the role that women were allowed to play. That's why men said, ‘Oh, it's a passive role, the muses are just in the room, and we're dreaming and fabricating great ideas in our heads.’ It was their way of saying that as men, they are the only ones who create art. That's Scheiße [T: 💩 💩 💩] in my opinion. I’m sorry. Whenever I speak German, I am always a bit more categorical. But that’s the way it is.

I believe, however, that muses have always been active. They were just not presented like that. This also has a lot to do with a certain notion of art. Art is not just an ideal sphere that comes down to earth through an artist who is both absolute and ingenious. Art is created by questioning your own choices over and over again, as well as the reasons that led to them. Thus, there is something sacred and something entirely unholy in art. Questioning postulates, constantly questioning your own work, makes art powerful. And that is much more the result of collaboration than of anything else.
ZE: In this case, collaboration is based on love. Muse and artist are on equal terms. Your connection acts like an engine and unleashes the creativity of the artist. Is that the reason why the first portrait that the painter Marianne made of you as Héloïse is technically good but rather conventional? [T: the interviewer uses ‘not befitting’ here]
AH: It's not even about the progression, where only love makes art better, but it’s actually about the process. That's why you constantly ask yourself questions. Of course, at some point a portrait will come out, but in the film it’s not about whether that’s a good thing or not in the end. The problem of the first ‘failed’ portrait is that it avoids any questions. It does not ask exactly: Who is this person? What attitude did the painter take towards her? Does the model have an essence that we try to capture and bring to the canvas? Or is it just about capturing a specific moment? At this point, the collaboration begins. My character Héloïse begins to question Marianne, the artist, ‘What's that supposed to be?’ And when Marianne answers, ‘That's the way to do it,’ Héloïse retorts, ‘What do you mean, that's the way it is done, how do you find yourself in it, what's your attitude towards it?’ And you cannot just take that stance, you have to feel it.
ZE: Is this relationship comparable to what you have as an actress with the director Céline Sciamma?

AH: Yes, absolutely. Our collaboration is based on that idea. There are also parallels in terms of content, because painting in this film also has a lot to do with cinema. As it’s also about sequence, scene and so on. The screenplay was very detailed. Improvisation as a method wasn’t intended. But I had a certain amount of freedom to shape my character. The point wasn’t to do this behind closed doors, but the idea was developed in exchange to centre my character around the gaze and into three phases: At the beginning of my journey, I saw myself more as an object, then there was the phase of questioning, and at the end I’m more of a subject. This means that I used my face like a mask at the beginning of the film, very solemn, almost sacral, with little emotion, reserved. The warmer Marianne’s gaze becomes at Héloïse, the more I change the way I’m acting. I become more active and animated. I gave myself a very clear structure. Céline went with this kind of idea. And then we start to discuss about specific and precise things.
ZE: That seems quite practical and unpretentious.
AH: Oh, I’m a very impatient person and get annoyed very quickly. That’s why I can’t stand some of the questions that I get (mimics a stupid tone): ‘How do you endure just being looked at the whole time?’ I do retort then: ‘Have you even seen the film? It’s about the exchange of gazes!’
ZE: There is a narrative framework in the film, where Marianne remembers this love several years later. It’s about the impact of that encounter. How important is such an echo for the arts?
AH: You could say that every human being contains something like an eternal truth inside of them, but that this cannot manifest in a person in its pure form. The potential is there. So, you can develop, change, grow. It’s almost our responsibility to become a better [T: bigger is stated here] person, who exhausts all possibilities to become what makes us human. A romantic relationship [T: love affair…] also makes us feel the possibility to become someone else, more than what we were before. I’m thinking in particular of Spinoza in this context.
ZE: In short, he talks about the necessity of individuals to evolve so that they become more perfect. [T: ‘Vollkommenheit’ is difficult to translate, but I understand that Spinoza meant that this is the ideal state of being, see: The Ethics, Part 4. Of Human Bondage, Or The Strength Of The Emotions, Preface]. Looking at your career, it seems that you and film-maker Céline Sciamma, who was your partner for a long time, also helped each other very much in that sense to evolve.
AH: Céline and I have an extremely close connection and always had an intense intellectual exchange with each other. And an intense emotional exchange, but of course that changes over time. When it comes to what I said before about the search for and questioning of what’s underneath, and how we make choices in terms of our work, then Céline and I understand each other well. We agree about the questions and how we can communicate about them.
ZE: The film takes place around 1770. Back then, the first female artists’ associations were found such as the school of Adélaïde Labille-Guiard. Marianne also worked in such an art school. It was only a few years that women could work as painters. Before and after, female artists could only do that in a limited capacity. Why was that?

AH: You get the impression that the female gaze is somehow threatening for male colleagues, that’s why they always tried to ban it. And besides, that is still the case.
ZE: How?
AH: Because some kind of natural order is being postulated. We have very much internalised this patriarchal order, in our intimacy, our desires, in everything. Indeed, challenging this perceived natural order is dangerous, because the entire patriarchy virtually depends on this everywhere. The trick to avoid answering questions that women are asking is in pretending that women really don’t have any reason to ask these kind of questions: They are doing well after all. If it wasn’t that pathetic, it would be really funny.

ZE: It seems that many big film festivals are now more open to show films that are about interesting and diverse female characters. Aren’t there more of these stories these days?
AH: Indeed, the problem has now come to the surface of society – two years after the Weinstein affair and #MeToo. You can see the facts. These are hilariously pathetic: 100 per cent of women, who use public transport in Paris, have experienced violence or abuse. 100 per cent! You always hear: ‘No, not all men are like that.’ Yes, of course. But all women have experienced this. And men also feel it. They’ve started to question the structures, in which this was possible, and in which they also lived for a long time. They also question their own behaviour. It’s not about locking up all men in a cage, but that we all evolve. It will make us all freer. But you have to let go of your little privilege of always being in charge. ZE: You’ve really shown us one of the most wonderful scenes on this topic in your film, without men.
AH: This scene is sexy, inventive, created in collaboration – we were also quite satisfied with it. That’s why I was so happy at the premiere in Cannes: There are 2,000 people in the audience, who will see something completely different.

it is a glitch gifs didnt look like this until may 2. they cant just suddenly decrease the quality of gifsets all at once. its not fair to content creators.
Alright, even if I am wrong and it's a glitch, I've actually been keeping an eye out for gifsets uploaded this morning (the Eternals sizzle reel, Ms. Zhao, what lovely shots 👀) and all through yesterday and, honestly? Nothing looks significantly different with them unless I actually knew what I was looking for, and even then usually when I was sitting from my screen at a distance of like 5 inches.
Every single time gifmakers have complained about compression of any form, as a gifmaker, I can guarantee the layman isn't noticing it.
Like, it's valid if you personally feel it's unfair, but I personally don't actually think it matters, because in the end, the end result doesn't actually look all that immediately different save in very specific dither and color conditions. And it's valid to feel bad that the compression, glitch and intended, will eat some level of your sharpen settings.
But, I guarantee, the average person isn't looking for that. And they don't notice. The ostensible decrease in gifs quality isn't something the average person notices at all. It'll be fine. I promise. Every single time gifmakers have complained that the compression is making their gifs look like garbage, I can guarantee it actually looks fine when I look at the gifset in question. Just sit back—I mean literally, bc it looks fine if you're like two feet from your screen as is normal to be sitting.
And, personally, speaking as someone who has made gifs since 2012, I find the historical nature of the gifmaking community to demand no compression at all incredibly entitled—because what the average person DOES notice is high loading times. Why can't and shouldn't they compress massive gifs, given historical problems with loading times on this website?
I personally don't find it unfair. Ten 8mb gifs in one post needs to be somehow offset so it isn't taking upwards of a minute to load. And if Tumblr wants to eat sharpen settings a little bit so my dash isn't loading at the speed of dial-up days, personally, so be it.
And even if they reverse this, I stand by this opinion.

How has your day been?
Okay-ish. I didn’t do much.  I exercised so that’s one productive thing I did today.  Finally was able to write something for a PJO x CM fanfic that I haven’t updated since 2017.  I’ve reread the chapters that I’ve finished and posted multiple times throughout the years to kick start something, but it’s always just eh. Finally was in the mood today and wrote some bits, did some research. Basically scrapped what I had initially written for the chapter before.  I was really in the zone before I stopped to do something, and then totally lost it so I’m been periodically clicking back to the document without any use.  My mom made phở for dinner so that delicious!
What was the last thing that made you smile?
When I was rewatching The Mummy and The Mummy Returns yesterday.
What’s keeping you entertained these days?
Just a lot of shows, Chinese and Korean dramas, movies, and fanfics. Made a few gifsets as well. I have an IDEA for a GonJo gifset but I have to download all the episodes for The King: Eternal Monarch and My Country before I can even start giffing 😭. A standing weekly virtual movie night with @almightypeach since April? We went through seasons 1 & 2 of Kingdom, The Half of It, The King: Eternal Monarch, and currently The Romance of Tiger and Rose. 😅 Also made new tumblr friends @itsdeanwinchester and folks on MacDesi discord, so that’s wonderful. Appreciate you guys! 
EDIT: I can’t believe I forgot about Bayern! Their double wins have been one of the highlights of my recent days. Looking forward to when they come back for Champions League and to them winning the treble this year because they definitely can!
If you’re in quarantine/ isolation, is there anything you’d like to achieve during this time?
Read actual books that are on my to-read and currently reading list rather than only fanfiction… Finish my fanfic that’s been on hiatus since forever, or at least get the next chapter finish.  Start planning for work

Hi! Yeah, I’m planning to! It just may take some time because I’m incredibly busy with my exams rn (that’s why the requests are closed), but I will definitely gif those clips.
It’s always a little bit more difficult to gif WTFock because the videos are not as accessible as other remakes’ clips are  (so they only take few minutes to gif).  But don’t worry, I will gif it sometimes tonight or tomorrow :)

i'm sad but really content about the respect the show is getting with allowing it to end on its own terms. even so, i will miss it. so tell me vi, what are your favourite elementary moments? you can give me all the details, or as little as you want. just tell me what made this show special for you. :)
i kinda of held off on this since i was so dead yesterday when i saw it lol but same! i am really happy they’re ending knowing they’re going to end. so now if it’s terrible i can yell @ rob w/o an excuse LMAO. jk but also am i. i will miss it, too. oh god i’m trying to think of all the things but there’s just so many that i can’t even possibly comprehend how i could type it all out without rambling on and not making sense. 
joan watson is the #1 reason, of course. i’ve talked about this before obviously, but she’s just… such an amazing inspiration for so many of us and me especially. i’ve never related to anybody so much in my life, and i’m so thankful for her. especially for what i’d been going through in life. i’ve always seen parts of myself in her and seeing her be happy and successful even later in her life is just… hopeful. for someone like myself who literally has no clue what the fuck she’s doing. i’m just… grateful. there are so many times when i thought i should just give up and that i was a failure but… as joan’s mother says. people find their paths in the strangest of ways. 
joan and sherlock is also another big reason why i love this show so much, obviously. i genuinely think they have some of the most beautifully written “i love you” one liners that i was planning on making a gifset of eventually. you and i are bound… somehow? genuinely 1 of the most beautiful lines i’ve ever heard in my whole entire life. and the gravity line. and also he named a goddamn bee (species) after her. and when he finally explicitly said that they loved each other. fuck. it’s wild how great their chemistry is really. there are so many moments when you can just… FEEL it and they don’t even have to like hug or anything, even though they eventually do even if it’s one sided. like in m with the SMALLEST amount of physical comfort? it’s like… wow. and especially when sherlock came back home to see joan was okay at the end of season 2. that LOOK is so loaded i genuinely am like shocked every time i… skip through end of season 2 to avoid mycroft at all costs heheheheheheeeee. 
i will miss marcus bell. 1 of my first husbands. he is pure and genuine and sweet and also in love with sherlock but okay rob sure they aren’t dating. you keep telling yourself that. he deserved so much better. side note, jon michael hill is a delight and i love him so much and he’s the sweetest person and i can’t believe i told him that i love him in real life and we have a selfie? together? hello? 
i’m also forever thankful for all the friends i’ve met because of this show and all of the followers i have because of it as well. you guys have been with me since the beginning and i’m eternally thankful. you have all been that constant in my life when i really needed it, and you guys will always be my home. i guess it’s fitting that this show is ending now that i somewhat have my life together… 
anyways, thank you, show, for everything. i know it seems so cheesy and shit, but this show genuinely changed my life, and i wouldn’t be who i am without it.

TDB rewatch: Purple Piano Project
Season 3! Do we really have to? It’s my least favorite season, especially now since I don’t know how, if at all, to show certain episodes to my kids. 
Okay. German title: Das Purple Piano Projekt. I get it: Das lila Klavier Projekt lacks the alliteration. This episode contains what I believe is my husband’s favorite quote: Yay! Yay college! He says it all the time, replacing college with whatever fits for the situation. 
I don’t have a lot of thoughts to this episode. It belongs in the ‘meh’-category for me. It’s a good Hummelberry episode, and the beginning of Blaine at McKinley, which made my son very happy. My daughters were more concerned with Quinn; they thought she looked cool, but behaved bad. 
Oh! I almost forgot: Wemma living together? How did that happen? I know there was a cut kiss last episode, but even so, it’s a pretty big jump from a kiss to cohabitation. And “Guess who woke up before me?” Gross, Will. I really feel for Emma in this episode. I imagine her dreading going to bed every night, fearing his advances, not knowing how to tell him she isn’t ready. Well. I can understand he is kind of frustrated as well, since there doesn’t seem to be much communication going on, but I dislike Will so much by now that I can really understand Emma. In the end, though, I don’t care that much. Just one thing: I don’t like what they do this episode, that a man has to be assertive and dominant to be attractive. Also, assertive Will is less assertive them petulant. 
Lauren is gone. That is sad, I liked her and enjoyed her weird romance with Puck. Also, now Mercedes will have to wear the fat-girl version of the competition dresses again. When Lauren wore them, Mercedes got to wear the normal version. I don’t know what’s with that. Sam is gone, too, but he will be back, so I’m not too sad. When Lauren returns, they will have totally retconned her character.
I enjoy the Hummelberry, but I agree with @klaineship2 that it is established here that Rachel goes to New York to succeed and Kurt goes to support her. I’m glad they later kind of turned that around a little. I’ve also been singing “Anything goes” all day yesterday.
Sugar! I don’t know why they always use “Big Spender” as a bad audition song. I really like that song! Also, are there no teachers in the cafeteria to stop the food fight before it can escalate so much? And who is cleaning that up?
I’m not sure about the Klaine, to be honest. I get that from a storytelling point, they had to get Blaine to McKinley, but I think it makes Kurt looks selfish (especially since he has to know Blaine is a junior (or doesn’t he?), so he’ll have to spend the last year there alone. And both of them look a little irresponsible, and I still wonder what Blaine’s parents said. But, well. I’m also glad of course to see more of Blaine. And I’ll be eternally thankful for the wonderful person who made the gifset of the hallway scene. Blaine is so insecure and vulnerable there, even though he tries to play it cool, and that makes it a great scene. It also kind of ties together Dalton!Blaine with McKinley!Blaine, by which I mean the (seemingly) always confident lead singer in contrast to the boy who is often insecure and has doubts about himself, who he is at McKinley.

this feels like a challenge to prove this right and...that’s exactly what I’m going to do. Except I’ll extend this to Twilight as a whole. pls keep in mind i obviously know taylor didn’t write these songs about these characters i’m just IN LOVE with the similarities and how they relate.
1. State of Grace “And I never saw you coming and I’ll never be the same”/"We learn to live with the pain mosaic broken hearts, but this love is brave and wild”/“You come around and the armor falls, pierce the room like a cannon ball now all we know is don’t let go”/“This is the state of grace. This is the worthwhile fight. Love is a ruthless game unless you play it good and right. These are the hands of fate. you’re my achilles heel. This is the golden age of something good and right and real” I think these lyrics fit Bellward in that...1) this love...was....real and new to both of them and not something they ever saw coming but it was scary but too real to let go of and not want to fight for. There’s so many risks in their relationship but “this is the worthwhile fight. love is a ruthless game unless you play it good and right.
2. RedI made a gifset. This is New Moon!Bella - “Remembering him comes in flashbacks and echoes tell myself it’s time now, gotta let go. But moving on from him is impossible when I still see it all in my head, burning red.” bc the girl LITERALLY saw him everywhere. and also “Loving him was like driving a new Maserati down a dead-end street, faster than the wind passionate as sin ended so suddenly” because when he left he took his whole world with her the entire time she was struggling to hold onto the memories. she was in the middle of such a :D point and everything was so good and in one instant it all fell apart.
3. Treacherous“This slope is treacherous this path is reckless this slope is treacherous I-I-I like it” this song is literally about sex and their relationship not being good but “nothing safe is worth the drive” which SCREAMS Bella and Edward like I don’t have to explain that tbh.
4. I Knew You Were Trouble...idk...bella knew he was trouble but shame on her because SHE LITERALLY WAS LYING ON THE COLD HARD GROUND when he left her....damn taylor really get specific 
5. All Too Well “It was rare I was there I remember it all too well” / “Time won’t fly it’s like I’m paralyzed by it. I’d like to be my old self again but I’m still trying to find it.” Is her the entire dark phase of New Moon.

10. The Last Time“This is the last time I’m asking you this put my name at the top of your list” lmao fucking JACOB to Bella in Eclipse. Actually wait this could work. “You wear your best apology but I was there to watch you leave. And all the times I let you in just for you to go again.” wow....damn it really could be Jake to Bella 
11. Holy GroundI’m going to half make this about Jacob and Bella because “Tonight I’m gonna dance for all that we’ve been through but I don’t wanna dance if I’m not dancing with you.” could be them at Bella and Edward’s wedding. But this is actually a nice breakup song about it being good and never looking back and them both being respectively happy for each other and that’s just not the case. he calls her stupid and thrashes her like a rag doll and fucking grabs her by the arms. the moment was ruined.

The moment i knew is too specific it’s about him not going to Taylor’s birthday. that didn’t happen. “You should’ve been here and I would’ve been so happy” if pulled out of context might relate. Maybe Come Back Be Here being about them being apart but being in love COULD be B/E in New Moon but they were both very sad and this is more about missing the other one...pretend “I can’t help but wish you took me with you” is overdramatic bella missing edward when he hunts. I can’t think of anything for Girl At Home.

“Should we really interfere?”When Bianca laughs, it’s cool and composed; she’s heard some call it cruel. She can’t help her nature, but Apollo still loves her.

Tagged by @anniemar​ - thanks! I feel like I rarely ever talk about writing on here anymore, so here is my current state of fic affairs for anyone who’s curious.
Since I just finished up the newest part of this stucky series yesterday (shameless plug), I have two other main WIPs at the moment that I’m hoping to make some headway on:
The big plot-heavy stucky AU, which, so far, is just a 2000 word outline that doesn’t even include a climax or ending because writing is haaard. But I do know there will be some super-shady Pierce, awesome Sharon Carter, and Steve making a number of risky decisions in his work and personal life (both of which involve Bucky, who is only in college, and also Pierce’s step-son. Yeah. Uh oh.)
The tasertricks fake marriage thing that has been consuming my soul for an eternity. I should really just either commit or abandon it because I have a tendency to write write write then not touch it again for 6 months, but it does have some really funny bits and I still love the idea, so I don’t want to have to scrap it. 
Sooo, that leads me to this question: I have about 5 chapters of the fake marriage fic fully written, so tasertricks peeps, would you still like to see it posted, knowing that it’s possible it might be abandoned/updated outrageously slowly, or should I keep it under wraps until I buckle down and get it written?
