Valentine Error! They're based off of the red string of fate trope, not exclusive to romantic relationships though! They can form platonic bonds, QPR and found families, though they can also form by themselves without their input, they can also destroy/end said relationships even ones that they didn't form and of course, again, they can end without their input!
