hello everyone, and welcome to my first ever review on this account! today, i’ll be reviewing the Rockstar Punched Tropical Guava energy drink!

As an FYI, my reviews will normally be based on 4 things: energy kick, flavour, scent and health. keep this in mind as i go into the review <3

First thing i feel like i have to talk about is the scent of this guy!!! it’s a VERY strong smell, one that I immediately picked up as soon as i opened up the can. The best possible simile i could use when describing this scent is like opening up a bag of gummies. the scent is sickly sweet and even though this turn some people off, i personally loved it! i’ve had this drink three times in the past two days and every time i’ve spent far too long smelling it instead of actually drinking it. This scent is so strong that I can smell it right now, as I’m typing this out. I have just finished a can of this drink, so it’s quite literally empty, and yet I can still smell it. Thank god the smell is nice!! The flavour of this drink tastes just like it’s smell - sickly sweet and gummy-ish. This is honestly the best way I could describe it. If really sweet drinks aren’t your thing, you most definitely won’t like this. I can be a bit iffy on sweet things, but again I personally love this drink! the flavour is also equally as strong as the smell, but it still holds that energizing taste to kick you into gear for a bit.

The caffeine level in Rockstar’s Punched Tropical Guava is at about 160mg, which is 2x more than a can of Red Bull but more than half under the amount in a Redline Energy Drink. This is about the same amount of caffeine seen in other popular energy drinks like Monster. Similar to those other drinks, the caffeine in this drink certainly energized me for a while. As I’m writing this, it’s 8:37pm, and I’ve been energized since I first had it today (at around 3:40pm). So, I’d definitely recommend this drink if you’re looking for a decent amount of energy to keep you goin! however, i should warn that the crash hits pretty hard, or for me at least it did. i practically knocked out as soon as i hit the bed, and there’s no doubt i’ll be doing the exact same tonight.

The calorie count of this drink is practically the same as almost every other energy drink out there, with the exception of those “no sugar” variants. Whilst I know the scent and strength of the sweet flavour may not be for everyone, for me it’s a personal favourite amongst the energy drinks i’ve tried. 

I give this drink a 9.5/10 stars due to just how much I adore this drink! The can is very pretty, it smells incredible and tastes delicious, all whilst still providing that nice energy buzz you’d expect from a normal energy drink! The only reason why I didn’t rate it a 10/10 is due to the calories of it. Whilst it is the same as most other energy drinks, I would’ve rated it a perfect score if it was a bit healthier in that regard.

Mother Frosty Berry

″no pretty packing can save a bland punch”

Hello, and welcome back to another energy drink review! today I’m reviewing the Frosty Berry flavoured Mother energy drink!  for those who don’t live in the Oceanic region, Mother is an energy drink produced in Australia and New Zealand, under the same company as Monster. the European energy drink Relentless is the exact same drink, just with a different colour. a little fun fact for you all :)

So as like last time, I’ll start with the positives and go into the negatives. The first positive that just has to be discussed is the can. it is absolutely stunning! the can has various shades of purple, all of which work very well with each other. as pretty as the Rockstar can was, I have to give the props here to Frosty Berry; it’s stunning. the back of the can introduces black, which is also the background for the nutritional table. it works very well, and while the colours aren’t bright by any means, it’s certainly eye catching! the various fonts on the can are just as pleasing to the eye as the colours are.

The scent of this drink is really nothing to talk about. it isn’t strong at all, it’s a subtle scent that’s hard to pick up even when drinking it. personally, i’d prefer a stronger scent, but i’m sure many others would enjoy the faintness of it.

Now onto the flavour of the drink. similar to the scent, the flavour of this drink is so subtle and, in my opinion, bland. is it a nice flavour? yes, but it doesn’t have any strong kick or delicious flavour like other energy drinks i’ve tried and, sadly, the so called “berry” flavour isn’t as obvious as i’d like it to be. no pretty packaging can save a bland punch, you know? the flavour of this drink is why i scored it down so low.

Mother’s energy kj count is at 957 per serving, which is way lower than the previously reviewed Rockstar drink; 1430. Frosty Berry also has a low sugar count of 52g, which is just lower than a Monster’s 57, and significantly lower than Rockstar’s 83.5g. the caffeine of this drink is the same as really any other energy drink, 160g, so although the energy count may be a bit low, you’d be most likely getting the same amount of kick as you would with other energy drinks. I would also assume you would be getting a lesser crash than other energy drinks.

So overall, not exactly sometime I’d go out of my way to drink all the time. the can’s beautiful packaging and the lower energy and sugar counts upped this drink up to 6, but the lack of good flavour and scent lowered it down to 5.5 out of 10. although, I will give it credit: unlike other mothers, which I may be reviewing in the future, this one I can actually finish. If you’re a fan of subtle scents and flavours, and want perhaps a slightly healthier option, i suppose Mother’s Frosty Berry is good for you! if not, I wouldn’t really recommend this drink!

Is caffeine causing or helping my headaches? Caffeine has critical pharmacologic properties that can lighten or create migraine indications. Caffeine has, for some time, is utilized for its pain-relieving properties in the treatment of migraines. It is also utilized alone or in a mix with different prescriptions. A blend of drugs that incorporate caffeine (anti-inflammatory medicine, and acetaminophen) are more useful for pressure and headache migraines than acetaminophen or low-portion ibuprofen alone. Routine caffeine utilization is related to constant headache and pain-relieving bounce back cerebral pain. For a situation control study, patients with everyday caffeine utilization were bound to have interminable headaches and pain-relieving bounce back migraines than patients who did not consistently expend caffeine. It is important to hydrate while consuming caffeine. A dehydrated person, on average, can only absorb 10oz of water every 20 minutes. Overconsuming water can lead to water intoxication, which dilutes one's plasma in one's blood, leading to various issues. Migraines are most commonly present with a unilateral headache—4-72 hours of pulsating pain. Sometimes nausea, photophobia, or phonophobia can occur. Tension headache first line in treatment is Excedrin, which is an NSAID made with caffeine. Caffeine can cause direct vasoconstriction of blood vessels in the brain.
