ideas i wished i had the time&motivation to make into fanfics part 1
Death Is the Only Ending For the Villain + Who Made Me A Princess crossover (other manhwas are featured too)
Attheia de Alger Obelia sets on her life both as the future empress of Obelia and a grand sorcerer just like her father. As expected however, she is met with many challenges along her path, and one of them is none other than Prince Alastor of the Ioka Empire. How will the two face off? And what will happen once their paths intertwine?
MAJOR WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD!!!
Luminous Raven hair and blue jeweled eyes. A soft face rid from the hassle of blemishes. And a smile that is as blinding as the sun itself.
It wasn’t likely for Attheia to find any problems that might’ve stung her hard like a million bees. Sure, being crown princess meant that she’ll have to study and deal with ruling the empire one day — plus those lessons were already very hectic as she already memorized almost every single thing about history and politics — but she enjoyed being the heir to the throne. On top of that, she is easily one of the most charming people in the nation, which made her the top of social circles.
Not to mention being the daughter of one of the greatest sorcerers of all time. Who could accomplish a feat like that? Truly, Attheia de Alger Obelia is the ideal heir to the Obelian empire.
So out of all the people in the world, why did he had to be the one to get on her nerves so much?
Attheia simmered at the thought of dealing with Prince Alastor Regulus again. The Ioka Empire’s prince surely knew how to shift the tides when it came to diplomacy. And he certainly knew how to play his card whenever he wants to get under people’s skin. In fact, his skills had been compared to several accomplished young royals all over the continent, which included Attheia herself.
How i wish i can wipe off that smirk off of your face, golden boy, Attheia inwardly exclaimed. No, i will wipe off that smirk of yours once this ball starts.
—————————————
This year, Obelia hosted an annual ball commemorating the 10th anniversary of the birth of the Europa Continental Alliance. As such, many leaders and influential nobles from all over the continent had gathered in Obelia to celebrate.
Attheia sat over in the corner with a group of girls that have came to Obelia.
“It is a bummer really,” Lippe Franz, daughter of Emperor Asterope and Empress Aria sighed while putting down her tea cup. “That pest, though influential and skillful in his own right, seems uptight if you ask me.”
"Hah, it looks like Ioka’s golden prince doesn’t seem to be well-mannered in a way.” The brunette girl Aria Wynknight continued the blonde princess as she clicks her tongue.
A black haired boy who stood out from the group of girls shyly nudged his older sister, “Um A-Aria, don’t you think gossiping about the prince could get us in trouble? You and i are nobles after all.”
“Don’t worry Reno. It’s not like the things Attheia said isn’t true, i for one had witnessed how much of a sly fox he is.”
“I second that,” Elina, the 2nd princess of the Castina Empire, responded to Aria’s rather bitter remark. “Though i do appreciate Reno’s concerns here. It’s only been eight years since the emperor and empress died, so he may still be struggling with their sudden departure.”
It was common knowledge between royals and nobles how much affect the sudden assassination of Emperor Callisto and Empress Penelope had. And to make it worse, the heir to the throne, Crown Princess Judith, had only turned ten years old that time, and the prince was much younger than her. Attheia took note of this, because as soon as they died, young Princess Judith along with Alastor and many other nobles had made sure that their empire was stable enough to carry on. Of course this wasn’t an excuse for his cunning behavior, because to matter what he does, Alastor Regulus still gets under her skin.
Lippe once again puts down her teacup and lowered her voice, “Just talking about the royal family of Ioka gives a somber feeling in me. Ever since the emperor and empress tragically passed away, there have been so much pressure put on Crown princess and Prince. I’m thoroughly surprised someone like him is still living.”
As Lippe finished her last sentence, a servant appeared to remind them that it was time for the dance to begin.
“Well, let’s see if he can survive a night like this then.” Attheia smirked.
—————————————
And so the dance between the young royals and nobles had begun. Children hailing from powerful families across the continent dawned the ballroom floor with their graceful waltz. How beautiful was it to see their children dance together, rulers and nobles alike were at awe at the scene.
After a while, the whole room was spread out as they continued their dance. To Attheia, it felt like ages since she was dancing, her feet were slowly getting a little tired as time goes by. But there was no sight of that golden bastard anywhere. She started to feel bored the more she dances, it would be splendid if they don’t have to encounter each other but now she feels as if she wants to give the prince a taste of his own medicine. It was then she realized that the waltz had began it’s climax, and she had to let go of her partner. As always, Attheia gracefully dances into the hands of her final partner and—
And there she saw it — with the glimpse of her eyes she is met with gleaming golden hair accompanied with the serine turquoise eyes of the late empress. It was a relief they had barely touched each other’s hands since in her mind, Attheia finally had a shot at making him pay.
“My, if it isn’t Obelia’s lovely princess. It is my honor to dance with you tonight, your highness.” Alastor bowed as he kissed the back of her hand. Attheia swore she heard her friends snickering behind her, but to her it was time to deal with the conniving prince that is right in front of her.
“A pleasure to you too, Prince Alastor.” This time she made sure to put on her best smile in front of him.
In response, Alastor just chuckled, “Honestly, you do know why you’re doing this are you?”
“To be exact, i’m very disgusted that i have to dance with the likes of you.”
To Attheia’s dismay, Alastor had already pulled her closer to him and started dancing as the others did. With her face visibly soured, Alastor smirked quite sweetly this time. As the music reached it’s climax, so did the waltz, and Attheia could barely keep up with Alastor’s movements.
Cheeky bastard, she thought. Just what in the world would get you even slightly humiliated?
As the two danced, Attheia was able to catch a glimpse of her parents. Mainly, it was the disgruntled face of her father looking at her as she danced with Prince Alastor, the thought alone making him feel annoyed already. Attheia took this as an opportunity to show her beloved father what she can do to the golden prince, so she quietly gestured him to look at her way (as if he wasn’t already).
Watch, daddy.
Stomp!
For a brief moment, even if it were just that, Attheia could see the evident shock and disbelief on Alastor’s face. She pinched herself in order to keep herself from smiling too much, and instead showed a pitiful expression on her face.
“Oh! My apologies, i think i maybe getting too clumsy your highness!” Attheia made sure that everyone else can see the rare sight of a shocked Prince Alastor, maybe even her friends are enjoying the small scene unfolding before their eyes. She glanced back at her father. His once annoyed expression had turned into a proud smirk. For the first time tonight, Attheia felt as if she won another victory.
Or so she thought.
Right as she was about to take her foot off of Alastor’s, the grip of his hand became stronger and just like that, Attheia was on air, holding onto his shoulders as she quietly became embarrassed.
On the other hand, Emperor Lucas, who was once brought to delight at his daughter’s bold action, became twice as annoyed as he was before. Just seeing the sight of his precious daughter being in the hands of someone else made him wanted to murder his ass—
“Honey, are you thinking of Attheia again?” His murderous thoughts were interrupted by the voice of his wife, Athanasia, as she moved to hold his hand.
“...No, i’m perfectly fine.”
—————————————
As the waltz came to an end, Attheia was visibly fuming. Had she been too careless to observe his movements? The moment Alastor had put her down on her feet, she pushed him aside and stormed out of the ballroom.
Stupid me, stupid motherfucking...! She cursed herself inwardly. Attheia prided herself to not cry over such a small thing, and tonight had just been ridiculous. She had got to the point where she was all alone in a dark corridor leading to a balcony. All alone, she reorganized her thoughts and tried to calm herself down.
“You know, i honestly never expected you to pull such a trick.” A voice behind her spoke.
She looked back with a clearly annoyed expression.
“Well, i guess that’s another victory for you, goldilocks.” Attheia mockingly responded.
Alastor, who was leaning against the balcony door, walked up to her while uncrossing his arms.
“You... really have the charm of your father do you?” Attheia asked in a low voice.
He paused for a moment, thinking back to what he did while they were dancing in the ballroom.
“You weren’t the first one to say that, but i’m sorta getting used to getting those compliments.”
Attheia held a chuckle from coming out of her mouth, “So, is there any reason as to why you even bothered to come here? I don’t really think you’d be someone who’d come and apologize after all that...”
“Actually, you’re friends approached me saying i needed to apologize for supposedly making you feel embarrassed. That Aria Wynknight girl surely is one hell of a gremlin.” Alastor responded while softening his voice.
“You really don’t need to if you didn’t want to.”
“Well, i’m here now.”
Attheia felt a weird sensation conversing with Alastor, considering how much she normally despised dealing with him.
Oh what are these weird thoughts again?! She cringed knowing that she thinks these things when she feels bashful.
“Oh, are you, by any chance, feeling any well? Your face is a little red.”
“E-Enough already! I’m perfectly fine it’s just—“
“You.”
The two looked back in shock and saw the emperor of Obelia towering over them. It was clear that whatever Alastor did might’ve angered him.
Scratch that, it made him furious.
“You seem to have a lot of guts to pull that off back there.”
“I’ll take that as a greetings, Your Majesty.” Responded Alastor.
“Tch, just when i thought you couldn’t be more insufferable.”
“Da— Papa, i’m fine. Prince Alastor was just here to apologize.” Attheia cuts in, not wanting another massacre of another beautiful view of the gardens.
Lucas, who was ready to tear the prince to pieces, was suddenly distracted by his daughter tugging on his sleeve.
Please, daddy? Those were all her jeweled eyes said. Of course, they weren’t for the prince, she despised him. But for his beloved daughter, he decided to calm down, albeit not willingly.
“Ah, i guess it’s time for me to go now,” Alastor said. “It was pleasant talking with you, Your Highness. Maybe next time we’ll have more conversations like these.”
Prince Alastor soon had left the palace, and Attheia, though stressed about what happened tonight, was able to sleep peacefully in bed.

edit: for those of you keen enough to notice, this was also inspired loosely off of A Stepmother’s Märchen!
You know i never thought it would be this bad but for the sake of boredom and indulgence, here’s a one-shot.
I’m a sucker for enemies to lovers. And no matter how boring and overrated the trope is, something about makes it feel like it has so much potential for spicy fics and stories and i am all in.
This was longer than i expected really. I think the more i read this the more in think this fits well as a one-shot than a whole ass fanfic cuz... idk actually.
Anyways, i love these two stories (despite how much i also shit on them individually) so i thought of making a crossover? Basically, Alastor is an OC, he’s Penelope and Callisto’s son and Judith’s younger brother, and it’s canon that Lucas and Athanasia will have a daughter, commonly named Attheia by the fandom.
As for Alastor and Attheia’s relationship, I have mixed feelings. One side of me wants a slow burn friendship, something I really think is fun to explore. The other part of me screams “ENEMIES TO LOVERS” and it’s so typical but indulging at the same time.
(p.s please don’t kill me for killing Penny and Call, i had a whole other plot for this story but decided to leave it out so...)

Bookshelf Briefs 5/28/19
Creature Girls: A Hands-On Field Journal in Another World, Vol. 1 | By Kakeru | Seven Seas – This was another “I’ll get the first volume, how bad could it be?” sort of book. The answer is pretty bad, at least for readers of my taste. That said, for those in the market this is aiming for, Creature Girls must be a dream come true. A monster girl story with actual coitus, as well as deep down analysis of the girls’ bodies, almost to the point of parody. The plot is the standard “guy transported to fantasy world” stuff, and there’s a few mentions made of battles against enemies that he helps them with. But the target reader is not here for that. He is here to see monster girls show off their boobs, swear they’re 18, and get screwed. This book gives that to you, in spades. I’ll pass on future volumes. – Sean Gaffney
Haikyu!!, Vol. 32 | By Haruichi Furudate | Viz Media – Oh boy, more full volumes of volleyball. They sure do (punches fist in air) PLAY that volleyball, huh? OK, OK, let me see… the twins’ backstory was quite good, and I enjoyed the end, where we see more of Hinata’s growth to the point where Tsukishima even praises him, as much as Tsukishima is ever going to praise anyone. And credit to the author, 32 volumes in, for continuing to find ways to not make volleyball boring. There are great poses and a fast pace which reminds you why this is such a popular series. The pace is not fast enough that the game is over, though, and I’m fairly sure that the next volume will have me groping for words once more. It’s a good series, though. – Sean Gaffney
JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Part 4: Diamond Is Unbreakable, Vol. 1 | By Hirohiko Araki| Viz Media – Ten years after the final battle between Dio and Jotaro in Cairo, the fourth part of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure returns to Japan. In the first volume of Diamond Is Unbreakable, Jotaro has come to the town of Morioh to investigate a series of crimes and to search for Josuke Higashikata, his uncle and the illegitimate son of his grandfather Joseph Joestar. When Jotaro finds Josuke he discovers a high schooler with a very powerful Stand and a hair-trigger temper (both literally and figuratively) to go with it, a potentially dangerous combination. JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure continues to be a violent and grotesque series—the human and animal cruelty present will be too much for some readers—but I continue to love it for its strangeness, over-the-top action sequences, and ridiculous characters. Josuke in particular is one of those delinquents with a heart of gold that brings me tremendous delight. – Ash Brown
Kakuriyo: Bed & Breakfast for Spirits, Vol. 3 | By Waco Ioka and Midori Yuma | Viz Media – I’m wondering how much of this series is going to be Aoi healing people’s hearts through the power of delicious food. Oryo spends most of the volume sick (well, the impression is she’s also hiding), but even she will eat Aoi’s food. We also get backstory on Suzuran and Akatsuki, and take a trip back to Japan so that Suzuran can pay her respects to the late Shiro, and also stay behind. It’s a perfect opportunity for Aoi to stay behind as well, something her captor knows only too well, but she chooses to return anyway. This series looks pretty slow burn, so I think the food may outweigh the romance for a while yet. But I’m OK with that. – Sean Gaffney
Kiss & White Lily for My Dearest Girl, Vol. 9 | By Canno | Yen Press – Half this volume is Yukine and Ayaka, who are coming to realize that “winning” or “losing” is not the be-all and end-all of their relationship. Good thing too, as Ayaka finally wins. Elsewhere, we see a girl who’s a repeater (she was injured and couldn’t get attendance credits), so is something of a loner, but also a cosplayer. She ends up falling for a younger, puppy-dog sort of girl, but it’s hard to get over putting people at a distance, so they end up breaking up quickly. But is it really over? This volume frames the “main” pairing right in the middle, with the ‘volume’ pairing as a bookend, and it woks very well. Next volume is the last, so I suspect it will be all Ayaka and Yukine. – Sean Gaffney
Little Witch Academia, Vol. 3 | By Trigger, Yoh Yoshinari and Keisuke Sato | JY – The spinoff comes to an end here, and there’s no real climactic finale—they have to win a flying contest against another school, but Diana is ill, so Akko tries her hardest (and mostly fails) and succeeds in the end, because she’s just that plucky. In the end, I think this spinoff probably works best for the groups it’s marketed for—kids and those who watched the anime. I wasn’t as fond of it as I was the other ones, as it’s clear that any character development is going to be in the main series. But as an advertisement for the main series, it’s excellent—I certainly would like to see more of everyone. Something to get your niece for her birthday—at three volumes, it’s even affordable. – Sean Gaffney
My Monster Secret, Vol. 16 | By Eiji Masuda | Seven Seas – Every new volume of the series after its first “ending” seems to be designed to annoy me—something that also befell the very similar Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches, if I recall. As the cover might give away, this volume doubles down on the teacher-student romance between Akari (who has at least appeared a lot) and Sakurada, best known as the least developed one of Those Three Guys, who looks much older than he is, which I guess is supposed to take the curse off the creepiness but doesn’t. Elsewhere, there is still some good comedy—I particularly liked the chapter with the supermarket sale—but more and more it appears this should have ended with the mutual confession. – Sean Gaffney
One-Punch Man, Vol. 16 | By ONE and Yusuke Murata | Viz Media – Still far too serious, and now faced with Saitama barely being in it. Certainly if you like cool fights it’s a good read, but I can get that from a dozen other manga titles. I read this for silliness, and that’s in short supply here. I did like the idea of the superhero “Megane,” who is pretty much just a guy with glasses. There’s also some good development from Garo, whose analysis is top tier, but who sadly is a bit too focused on the wrong things. But then again so are the A-rank heroes—there’s a fair bit of hypocrisy here. At least Genos knows what’s what, and we also get the return of Bang, who has a grudge of his own. It looks like Saitama will show up soon, and thank goodness. Who needs a totally serious One-Punch Man? – Sean Gaffney
Ooku: The Inner Chambers, Vol. 15 | By Fumi Yoshinaga | VIZ Media – Revolution is approaching as the most senior of Iesada’s ministers signs a trade treaty with America without waiting for Imperial approval. This fellow silences his detractors with harsh punishments and winds up assassinated by the end of the volume for his trouble. Meanwhile, the pregnant Iesada has evidently been gotten out of the way by somebody, but it’s unclear who, leaving her bereaved consort Taneatsu in the dark about her demise for a full month. Now he’s doing his best to guide her clever successor, who has just been married to an Imperial prince. She was concerned about deceiving the emperor, since the shogunate’s part of the deal was to oust foreigners, but a big reveal in the final pages proves they’re the ones who’ve been deceived. Still great, if sad. Poor Taneatsu. – Michelle Smith
Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization, Vol. 3 | By Tomo Hirokawa, based on the story by Reki Kawahara | Yen Press – The danger is ramped up a lot more in this volume, which also comes with the return of a familiar face from the Progressive series. When it comes to “NPCs can surpass their programming,” no one’s done it more often than SAO, with the current Alicization arc being all about that. Kizmel was (storywise, at least) first, though, and it’s heartwarming to see Kirito and Asuna reunite with her, even if she doesn’t know who they are. That said, this side story is still all about Premiere, who has a role that she is clearly there to fulfill… and also there’s more than one of her? Not for casuals, but SAO fans should find this a lot of fun. – Sean Gaffney
Yowamushi Pedal, Vol. 11 | By Wataru Watanabe | Yen Press – The joy of our whole team of six catching up with one another is tempered by the reminder that there can be only one winner of this race… and that the others are going to drop back and fail. It’s a hard lesson for Onoda to absorb, and by the end of the book he’s still struggling to. The rest of the book is filled with the most manly cycling ever, fortunately, and I have to say pound-for-pound this series even manages to out-shonen the Jump titles. That said, holy hell, this is a long race, and we’re still not done. Sports manga go on forever, and nothing says that better than this omnibus, which equates to vols. 21-22 of the original. I hope Sohoku eventually wins. And by that I mean Onoda. – Sean Gaffney

What if Callisto had an older sister?
This is an idea I had brewing inside of me for a while. You know, in most empires they always had more than one kid. I mean, it made sense. So what if Mr. Garden Maze Hottie had an older sister? i.e. from both his mom and deadbeat. Introducing...
Princess Ariadne "Ria" Regulus:
two years older than Callisto: born when parents loved each other
same gold blonde hair and red eyes as Cal but has her mother's face (basically Roxanna Agriche)
the most secretly traumatized and stressed person in the Empire
"The Emperor's Favorite Child" and "The Golden Rose of Ioka"
was old enough to grasp the whole second queen situation
battles it out with the second queen on household politics
protected Cal from assassination attempts and was overprotective
politically active; very influential; head of the Callisto Faction
for AU and political purposes, she is engaged to Winter Verdandi
is the current leading lady of high society
was a villainess in the Winter route but a support character in Cal's
had a decent life after Winter's Route (married and left the empire)
generally a nice person until you cross her
og!Penny held some resentment towards her for having a decent life after Yvonne came and not dying after every loop
didn't care much for og!Penny but stopped the tea incident
in current TL she noticed Callisto's attraction to Penny and resolved to get them together, for political and personal reasons
realized Winter also liked Penny and manipulated him out of it
Ria and Winter aren't in love with each other for now but are friends
in charge of an intelligence/spy/mercenary guild disguised as a tavern that is coincidentally next to Winter's
main goal in life is revenge on the second queen, includes putting Callisto on the throne and ruining her family politically and socially

Duchies for the Royal Children
Healthy reminder to all you that I'm a huge history nerd so there'll be a lot of references. Anyways, the headcanon goes like this:
Callisto give each of his kids a duchy on 21st birthday for them to govern. Don't worry about Judith, she gets her own kingdom (probably Delman) to practice run until she becomes empress.
It makes sense politically. I mean it is a bit stupid to only have one duke in an entire empire, who can decide to revolt at any moment and win. And an empire has many different places that need different types for control. (It gives me imperialist/colonialist vibes but that's what the Ioka Empire is all about).
As far as we know, Ioka is still a growing empire and Callisto, as Emperor, needs to solidify his power bases in each region. Duke Eckhart is probs the head aristocrat for the original kingdom before the conquering began and if new territories are being added so would new Dukes to keep status quo. Callisto might have also secretly gotten conquered territories for himself as a personal investment.
It would also solve their inheritance problem. Since Judith would get most of the stuff because it comes with being the eldest and the heir, there wouldn't be much left for the younger children. Unless they get something before Callisto's dead. Duchies also produce a butt-ton of money, so they'll be set for life.
In real life, most Austrian Archdukes (younger sons of the Emperor) who were far from the throne were given territories to govern in place of the Emperor since they were either on the brink of independence or wanted by the empire. They lived in the territories and ruled them however they pleased. Sometimes, they'll be very active in governance or just leave everything to their advisors. Some Archdukes turned their courts into intellectual and artistic powerhouses, some turned their courts into whorehouses and some did both. The point is that they were given independence and did anything they wanted provided they ruled on behalf of the emperor.
