           THERE'S SOMETHING IN THE WAY VERONICA walks that reads "urgent." It would be easy for someone like Scathach to tell; the way her heels snap against the halls of Castle Embla like whips, the way that her strides extend to the farthest reaches of her legs. She waits for no one. Her pace is sharp, impatient. Like a knife waiting to plunge into flesh.

          "...Scathach."

And so does the blade meet its target. Veronica halts just in front of him, arms crossed as she pulls her chin up to meet his gaze. She doesn't mean for her voice to sound as piercing as it does, but her words come out whetted regardless. It's a bad habit— the more she works, the more sullen her mood.

          And given the state of the Emblian Empire? It seems work is all she's been doing, lately.

          "Your contract has been dissolved. It has been for quite some time, as I'm sure you can tell." she speaks matter-of-factly, each syllable as distinct as her footsteps, "You are free to leave. I hear your family has been summoned to Askr. I can arrange for you to go there, should you so wish."

          A long silence punctuates her words. She is hesitant to say more; a far cry from her impatience earlier. Very suddenly, she begins to look small. Her shoulders slump forward. Her fingers lace together and, for a moment, she is the lonely girl she was a few years ago. She looks up at Scathach, expectant. As though she were waiting for him to interrupt her with a reply. Or perhaps wanting is the more accurate term. The words that will come next are not easy ones to speak. She hopes he can delay them.

          He does not. So, she speaks them. Quietly this time.

          "Don’t you understand? You’re free. Free to go, and free from me. I won’t blame you for it. You don’t even have to look back. I’ll allow it. Yet…” she sucks in a breath, “yet despite all that, you're still here. With me. Why?"

sunflower :   what brings your muse the most joy in life ?

sharena is a naturally joyful person— she has an unrelenting optimism and fierce positivity that’s just... infectious. so it’s difficult to narrow down what brings her the most joy in life. but after spending a while scrolling through the wiki and reading her (seemingly endless number) of quotes, i think i can sum it up to this:

peace.

askr faces the constant threat of invasion (they’ve been invaded multiple times before, actually.) it maintains peace, but it is fought for fiercely. it almost feels like a privilege that they’re able to repel each invasion that has been launched against them, and that they can still afford to keep some form of order.

as such, i feel like it’s peace that brings her the most joy. and beyond just peace, it’s the simple pleasures that come with it that delight her. the festivals, the picnics, the fantasy feh santa claus. she enjoys all this because it’s a sign of consistent peace; of times where they don’t have to worry about war and battle and are simply free to live; to exist; to make friends and to dream.

also not to be an embla stan on main but this just drives the contrast between her and veronica further home. sharena is able to enjoy peace and the small pockets of joy that it brings because, as the younger princess, she doesn’t have to bear the burden of the throne. yes, as a member of the order of heroes, she still cares about these things— but she is afforded some leeway, at least. veronica on the other hand, despite being the younger of the two emblian royals, has to carry her father’s legacy of violence and war. she cannot enjoy peace, nor can she enjoy the same idle pleasures that sharena can. she canonically doesn’t do festivals too often even though she has more alts cough cough fix that intsys and needs a bit more time adjusting to them. meanwhile sharena just... dives into them...

sorry for digressing KWMKEMRK but yeah, the answer is peace. peace and all the bells and whistles that comes with it :D

I SEE THE FIRE EMBLEM HEROES COMMUNITY ISN’T DEAD AND LIKE GENSHIN IMPACT HELLO I BRING MORE THOUGHTS

NOTE: Can be taken as a continuation of my last Summoner!Reader Post, or an alternative take on their arrival to Teyvat!

• You, who’s been stuck in Genshin Impact for at least a month or so with one or two of your favorite heroes. Using the ruins that you all woke up in as a base of operations.

• You, who ended up crossing paths with Signora and Tartaglia after the Liyue Archon Quest by pure luck

• You, The Summoner, realizing there’s more Fatui in the area than usual. Thinking nothing of it, and dispatching one of your Heroes to handle them swiftly.

• You, who realized the day after that incident that even more Fatui were in the area. Mumbling cursed to yourself, you start getting everyone ready for a ‘hunker down and wait till they leave’ situation.

• You, The Summoner, asking one of the more nimble heroes, like Tharja, Beruka, Hubert, Navarre, or Niles, to check your surroundings for a general idea of where the Fatui may be camped.

• The Summoner, who received word from their scout that a Harbinger— whatever that is is present and leading the search for..something. Or someone…?

• You, definitely panicking. Because without any idea of which Harbinger it is, there’s no way you can prepare well. If it’s a high rank, you’ll need to have your strongest heroes to face them. But if they’re low rank and you send your strongest, who knows what kind of information the enemy may get from that.

• The Summoner, taking a long moment to pause and think about everything. Before announcing they’ll send a team of four if confrontation becomes inevitable. And asking their scout to continue and observe, even sending one or two more out.

• You, really wishing that the people of Teyvat would stop trying to find you for— whatever reason. Treason, Blasphemy, or whatever the hell they want to call having a doppelgänger.

• You, who know’s that Inazuma is probably a no go for relocation because of the Electro Archon, but puts it up on the list of ‘Possible places to retreat to.’ And then calling it a night.

• The Summoner, who is awoken to find their small force of Heroes on edge. The enemy draws closer, and one of them swears to the gods that they saw an Emblian banner. So what the hell?

• You, really concerned that the Army from Embla, probably the Curse Directive knowing Letizia, may be working with Fatui. Because that means they’ve invaded/in the middle of invading the land or the Fatui know more than you thought. Both of these aren’t…great if they’re true.

• The Summoner, looking to the few strategic minds in the ruins for advice. All advice of which go to either two answers: Stay and Fight, or Commence a Tactical Retreat.

• The Summoner, knowing both options can end very poorly, awaiting for the scouts to return and give an update. Only when they do return, one of them is missing.

• The Summoner, invited to meet the Fatui [and likely the Harbinger leading this operation] outside and retrieve your scout. And, as they always are, The Summoner agrees and forms up their team. Now who to bring? And which Harbinger may await your arrival?

This is Flykra, she goes by she/they. She's one of a few feh ocs I have, but she's the most recent one. She's Hríd's retainer and just like me she's a big Nifl royal family enthusiast. She's a cavalry unit because she can create ice and skate and that would be faster than walking i think.

I also have a pegasus knight from Askr and an Emblian violinist ocs but they all need redraw because all the doodles i have of them are ancient (around 1 year old). Idk if you can count my summoner as an oc cuz i just drew my persona to goof around. The hedgehog is supposed to look like this. Its name is The Hedgehog

I see so many fe ocs here and that's so inspiring ahhh😭😭😭 I'm also so glad that some of them are shipped with Alfonse, boy really needs emotional support (he's my fave feh character actually)

Prologue: Starfall

Today started as any other day, you woke up, had breakfast, and got ready for whatever you had planned for today, that is until you opened up Genshin Impact, deciding to get the daily commissions done with. When you opened the app you consumed by a blinding light and then all was dark.

You woke up on an all to familiar shore line, looking around in a daze, you thought it was a dream until you tried waking yourself up and realized this was real. The panic set in rather quickly afterwards, what were you going to do about life back home, what COULD you do? You remember that Mondstat isn't far from here, maybe Venti knows something.

Time skip (because we all know how this plays out)

You were running, not bothering to look back. How, WHY could this happen? Why would such kind people be drawn to blood shed? Who is this divine being they're talking about? Where's Nahida during all this? Questions you don't believe you'll get the answers to.

As you ran you look at your phone " If one app brought me here, it's possible another will take me away." You thought. "Either way this ends today."

You ran and ran, until you were at the edge of a cliff. "Nowhere to run heretic, their grace demands your head!" One of the many soldiers of Teyvat exclaimed. "If this divine being hates me that much, tell them THEY NEVER HAVE TO SEE ME AGAIN!!" With that you jump, and as you're fall all you can think is "Please let this work"

As you open the app you are once again consumed by light, however you are conscious for what comes next. In the space between realities your wounds are mended, it's as though this void is apologizing for your torment. A rift opens and you go through it.

When you exit said rift you are greeted by a red haired woman. "Ah it worked." Wait that woman is ANNA!? As Anna went on with her introduction you tried to think. That's right YOU are the summoner, without you here this world's story couldn't happen. As you collected your thoughts some emblian soldiers appeared, so you immediately grabbed Breidablik and summoned your first hero.

This idea was inspired by a post done by abnormalityjoseph and I thought about this way too much not to post something on it. I know it's rather short, but I hope you all like it

so i was going through book 6, in search of ash and embla crumbs, but found this:

Askr: Long ago, Embla and I both granted our power to mortals so that they might use those powers to flourish. We selected different peoples. I chose those born in what is now called Askr. She, of course, chose those born in what is now Embla... And for a time, the two peoples lived separately from each other, and they were content. Bruno: Then...why? Askr: It all started with a simple misunderstanding. Some of the Emblian people came to Askr. They were attracted by the way open exchange was valued there. This, however...enraged Embla. Bruno: ... Askr: She believed those people chose to desert her in favor Askr, and she could not forgive that. Her people, of course, had no such feelings... But she refused to believe anything they said. Embla forbade her people to leave to other worlds. Anyone who did not obey was punished, severely. The people grew to fear Embla, and the number that fled from her only grew... Bruno: ...Naturally. Askr: I know she was deeply hurt, and that hurt only grew deeper... Everyone left her, and she was completely alone... I cannot begin to imagine her pain. I offered to help her, but she met me with hatred and refused. There was nothing I could do. In the end, Embla used her power to completely close off her world. That way, those people who were still with her would no longer have even the possibility of leaving. Then she took control of their very hearts and turned them to her will so there was no chance of betrayal...

so according to askr, the timeline is:

emblians come to askr -> embla overreacts and overcorrects -> askr tries to get her to stand down -> she starts harming mortals

but according to the flashbacks we see from embla, the timeline is:

embla gives aid to the emblians -> one of them attacks her all of a sudden, giving her the shock of her life -> she goes to askr to convince him to step away but he refuses -> she goes beserk

both of them could be entirely unreliable on what actually went down. because embla's flashbacks are basically some of the most important moments in her life, while askr has always been inclined to give mortals the benefit of the doubt.

(of course, it could just be a last minute addition)

but when exactly does embla's scare with death happen?

because it could completely change the context of why she did those things

option 1: if they went to askr first, they saw how askr had open exchange, one mortal attacked embla because she got mad or maybe just because they felt cheated, she forbade them all from leaving, things escalated option 2: a mortal attacked her first, then some folks went to askr, which prompted embla to forbid them from potentially causing harm to askr option 3: they went askr, she did actually overreact and forbid them from going, then one mortal tried to kill her, and then she overreacted even more

but like idk if it's just me, but i feel like reaction no. 3 is kind of weird. elm's wording is pretty strange. sure he's an unreliable narrator who hates mortals, but he also explicitly tells her that they'll hate her if she starts killing them, as if they don't hate her right now

so they didn't hate her then?

this is his line:

Elm: But if you kill them, the mortals are sure to spread rumors about you, to sow fear and vile intent... Even those who now love you dearly will retreat from you... If you would, please reconsider, Lady Embla.

like, what does that mean?? because askr seems to think that her punishments drove them all away, but if we believe elm at face value, this is before that. like he's sort of saying, the ones who are innately cruel and/or don't care for embla as much will sow fear, until even her most devoted mortals will leave her?

so if we believe elm. then her shutting down the border is in active response to the incident?

and did she tell askr what happened exactly? because embla in the english version never says that a mortal tried to kill her. only that they'll betray him, even though he puts in so much energy for them. and in jp, she uses the word for betrayal/double-crossing but i'm not sure if it has connotations of death.

so did askr think she was just being her gloomy self?

especially considering she wasn't very enthused about helping them and only really did it because of askr.

and embla implicitly says that her motivation is to ensure that askr is safe. that he doesn't end up betrayed. and she only sets it into motion after askr refuses her, and it doesn't seem to be prompted by a desire to keep them by her side.

Embla: So, this is the true face of these mortal beasts... Of course it is. There will be those who come for Askr's life as well... They will betray the trust he places in them so blindly. And this is all the proof I need. Elm: Right you are. But even so... Embla: ...I must kill them.

like does that look like the thought process of a yandere (for mortals) to you? if anything, she's lowkey yan for askr.

(only lowkey, because i'm sure self-preservation plays a role as well)

and clearly, the part about her killing them and askr confronting her for it has to be the "punishment" for trying to leave and him offering to help her, but her "meeting him with hatred."

could it be that he simply assumed the betrayal was them approaching him, when it was actually the murder attempt? and that when she was talking about him being betrayed, she was saying they'd turn their back on him and be ungrateful? especially since that sounds like something she'd say

plus, this is a very weird reaction for someone who wants to kill mortals because of her fear that they'll betray askr as well and hurt her again

Enough, enough, ENOUGH! Get out from my sight! If the mortals love you so, then so be it! They detest me. May they all seek your company and be happy—and leave me alone. Wretched! All of you!

elm told her this would happen, so why is she surprised? this feels kind of different from when she knew how askr would act and was still in disbelief that he let himself die.

like, maybe i'm digging too much into this, but could it be that the fact that askr starts of the conversation worried about mortals sets her off? she even tells him off for calling their lives precious.

i don't doubt that askr was right on the money about her still caring about mortals. i also don't doubt that he was genuinely concerned about her as well.

and i don't hold it against him, but it feels like that wasn't what she needed to hear, which is why she spiraled further.

the whole problem was that embla was at a point that she felt she could only trust her kind (elm and askr), but askr was consistently betraying her expectations in favor of mortals

like, i suspect the only reason she brings up the mortals leaving her is because askr's convinced that her attachment issues to them are the problem.

it's a mix of the fact that she was attacked first, that they all go to askr when they could pose a threat to him, which freaks her out, and askr's continued insistence on trusting them.

(i do, however, think that this line from her playable self does actually refer to mortals.

The mortals chose Askr. All of them. Over me...

though it does seem out of place, there's just no way to finagle that as her actually talking about askr. i think this is just a result of her having had centuries to mull the events over in her head.

and i say out of place because she also says this:

Mortals once loved me as they do Askr… I had no choice.

so like she knows she drove them off, but she still says the prior line? which further plays into the idea of her wanting protect herself and protect askr?

honestly, the first line might just be in reference to the fact that no one stopped to try and figure out why she was going beserk when she'd been a perfectly benevolent person before then and just ran to askr.

they basically discarded her, which makes sense because it's very much like when you go to dad when mom's mad, but embla just didn't see it that way because she also holds a grudge against them and so paints them in a terrible light and refuses to empathize with them.

because again, if we believe elm, everything was fine and dandy up to that point and he was able to manipulate letizia, so i have some faith in his words)

because i genuinely don't think askr would gloss over a murder attempt in the way he gently refutes her concern. like it's certainly possible a mortal could get a fatal hit in on her or injure her gravely. i think he'd take that much more seriously, which further makes me think he just had no idea

in conclusion: miscommunication just doomed two entire kingdoms

∘₊✧── her chest has been heavy since the moment their boots met emblian soil.

it is a mockery of emotion -- she has no chest to weigh upon -- and yet it is a feeling so real that it is nearly tangible. this world around her and its deafening emptiness, each footstep an echo of her failure.

she knows that her partner can feel her unease -- knows, miserably, the looks he gives her every time she request they stop. they have walked for days on end before, and yet now they seem to camp nightly.

ribs contort as though there are lungs still beneath them, mimicking an inhale as thrasir settles herself more properly into lif’s offered shoulder. there is silence around them, this forest just as lifeless as its only two occupants.

another false breath, this time punctuated by the turn of her head and press of cheek against cool armor. eyes shut. her own skin, or what of it remains, is hardly any warmer, but it is just enough to feel the difference.

( for how much longer will she have that privilege? )

she does not want to go further. the urge to back away from their best chance at success after all of this time is undeniably a selfish one, and yet she cannot shake it. 

tension eases as though in exhale, and silence stretches on a single beat longer before her own voice breaks it.

The violinist is Audun, they're from Embla and before book 6 they didn't like Askrans very much. The ref pic is old but I still like it (⁠ ⁠╹⁠▽⁠╹⁠ ⁠)

Green girl is Astrid, a pegasus knight and she is a huge fan of Audun

Now to a ✨lore dump✨

Audun is from a noble Emblian family, but when they were young the noble title was taken away from their family as well as all property due to their parents being involved in some shady stuff with one of the branches of the imperial family. Audun's father was then sentenced to death, and mother passed away from illness some time later. Audun was learning violin as a child and their violin is the only thing they managed to take from their house.

Skipping all the boring stuff, Audun became a famous violinist, got rich and bought their parents' home back. They didn't get the noble title back though, just home.

Before book 6 events they didn't like Askrans for some reason. During book 6 events they spent some time at Letizia'a side, mainly because she threatened them with some information she knew about their parents (she shouldn't have known that information). Audun later manages to run away and join the Order of Heroes for the time being. After book 6 events they change their mind about Askrans.

Audun is *very* confident in their abilities, both magical and with violin. They are a strong mage and well. They are very confident in general. They're also my favourite child i think you noticed by now

Astrid is from a noble Askran family, her mother owns a pegasus knights training grounds, they train elite knights there and their pegasi are considered to be the best in all of Askr. She has 4 older brothers (quadruplets) and 1 younger brother. Her mother was in shambles. Astrid is the only one who can inherit the pegasus farm.

Her head wings are actual wings, they flap when she's excited. She can't use them to fly (that would be insane). She is also a big Audun fan and was at almost every concert but she never managed to get Audun's autograph :(

She also has a pegasus named Pepper, thats important for her character development

That would be all for now, I have way too much info to share about them and i better stop now 😶 Also I have no clue if pegasus is singular or plural and at this point im too afraid to ask
