Man everybody talks about how sexy Kelsier is. But his canon appearance is not that great and he's kind of insane

His style of killing was incredibly one-dimensional and his personality was pretty flat, and (keep in mind I have ONLY read the first Mistborn trilogy) I am reasonably certain he was being pretty powerfully controlled by Ruin

The way he intentionally set himself up as a religious figure was also a huge turn-off for me. Like, I think that, with his limited understanding of the world, it was the right choice. Religious belief can have absolutely mind-blasting power when it comes to swaying a populace, and it was an incredibly effective method for helping the skaa rise up

But the kind of man who turns himself into a martyr is decidedly unsexy. I know enough men in real life who think themselves martyrs that it was an instant yikes from me

It's also fascinating to read Sanderson's work as an ex-Mormon, because hoooooooooooly shit is he a Mormon. Everything Sazed went through with his faith crisis? He was so fucking Mormon about it. Kelsier is just... an edgy representation of Joseph Smith, minus the pedophilia and plus a burning desire to kill, lmao

Old and new! I drew this original piece back in 2017 and I decided it was time to update it~! Here is the new version of Dance of the Mistborn, which features Vin and Elend from Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn series. I had a lot of fun working on this, and was brave and gave Elend some facial hair. XD

This is probably my most requested art print, but because it was originally drawn traditionally on speckly paper, I couldn't print it larger than 8x10 inches. So I wanted to do an updated version so it could be printed at a much larger size. (And my art was better. Haha!)

Say what you wanna say about Kelsier but that man knew how to love and he loved with a raw fucking passion.

For years he was led to believe that Mare had mercilessly betrayed him before she died and yet he still insanely loved and missed her — something that he stated as a simple fact and not as a guilty confession.

Kelsier and Mare had 0 page-time together, but they still managed to snatch my fucking heart and push my expectations through the roof precisely because of how Kelsier talked about her! Is there anyone who does it like him? Hell nah!
