Yesterday I made a video response to the #saynotoplasticwitchcraft tag that’s been doing the rounds (on my YouTube channel Jessica TheStoryWitch). And I’ve received so many messages about it, I’m really glad I spoke up 💖 . I saw @awitchespath post about it a few days ago (which I agreed with) and the comments section seemed divided around the two issues that have been wound into one: real v fake witches; and consumerism. . I share my thoughts on both aspects in my video. And also reference the videos I saw by @thornthewitch @keldenmercury and @anya.esma which made excellent points on the subject. . I believe it’s time the lines between the #witches and the #lowimpactliving movement become ever more blurry. . Witch tip:

To honor the Earth (the planet or the element), collect litter as you walk during the day. If you’re walking to school and you see a piece of stray trash, put it in the nearest trash can, your bag, or hold it until you can dispose of it. Though it’s true that the trash “goes to the landfill anyway”, that doesn’t mean that our environment is still a place to just throw things away that we don’t want. Littering brings bad luck and bad energy. Also, some of that trash is potentially recyclable. Within this, be sure not to pick up anything hazardous to your health, and always ALWAYS wash your hands afterwards. ⭐️♻️

January 22nd: Banish Your Bad Habits

I want to start with this one, since I did more editing than normal.

In Wiginton’s original spell, it is suggested that you release helium balloons to rid yourself of your unwanted habits. I can’t have that, so I rewrote it in utilize the similar aspects of fire.

Components: Fire, white chalk, & black paper.

⋆ find a safe place to start a small fire.

⋆ write your habits on pieces of paper

⋆ roll them up and throw them into the fire

⋆ watch them burn away in the power of your will.

⋆ if time permits, allow the fire to burn itself out

⋆ safely put out the fire or embers.
