Ask game for Shapur?

I forgot to link to the ask game post in my previous replies like a total idiot— so here it is, in case anyone else wanna participate.

Fair warning: a lot of these are gon be AU-specific bc to me his character and any headcanon I may have of him is so closely tied to Winds of Wolfsong.

2. When I think I truly started to like them (or dislike them, if you've sent me a character I don't like)

It was back before Isfan made his first appearance in the manga, I'd just read some spoilers about their backstory— of him finding Isfan and saving him, as well as a headcanon that he raised Isfan to be his heir, and I was already feeling quite wrenched by his death before I loved him to this degree, after I found out the backstory I simply had no chance. That is one hell of a quality man.

3. A song that reminds me of them

Definitely skews Wolfpack rather than canon but Another Heaven by earthmind really gives me Shapur feels.

16. A childhood headcanon

As a child, he so used to look up to his father and thought said father could do no wrong— that he was righteous and infallible and good. But the older he grew, the more his eyes were opened to the dissonance between the pedestal he put his father on vs the reality that act was, and he grew more and more distant, he argued with his father a lot more, and things got irreparable by the point the whole debacle with Isfan happened... That was the final nail in the coffin that broke whatever tenuous faith he might've had in his parents. His parents were aristocrats to the bone, especially his mother, and he... he's still untangling her influence from himself, even after all these years.

23. Future headcanon

Again, AU answer because we all know what happened to him in canon: by the end of Wolfpack, he's finally fully at peace with himself because he succeeded, he succeeded in standing up for the clan, for Ayunnen and Kashi's son, this time, he succeeded in protecting them this time where he could not the first time around. I haven't yet ironed out the details, whether he would agree to take up the rank of marzban again after he discarded it to detach himself from Andragoras, but he's decidedly less stressed anyhow. He was also present when the... the ceremony to put the haunted temple (that wasn't a Temple, it was an old home/base of operations for the clan and Kaykhusraw before they took down Zahhak, before Kaykhusraw betrayed them, he betrayed, and many died because of it, and the entire place is haunted now as a result) at rest, to apologize to the lingering spirits, led by Hilmes himself after he was coronated. You could say a sense of balance had returned— the clan being allowed to be out in the open, their rightful place bestowed where it was denied before, but still, everyone in the country understands that it is the northeast that holds the love and loyalty of the Marda people.

This is really incoherent but the point is that he's happy!

"together, empowered rational females" is pretty solid as a cryptonym. a while ago i thought of "tolerant earthminded reasonable freethinker" and "totally excellent respectable friend." would love if people making their own plausibly-deniable cryptonyms took off, its a good way to signify that its a safe space for women while avoiding being cancelled or whatever tf the trafia does these days.

unfortunately, the second some women would start using it, it'd become recognisable and no longer useable. but the idea of having a four letter sentence where everything starts with t.e.r.f. is very funny lol
