I deadass don’t get how people can think that spitting on someone is worse than licking someone. At least with spitting it’s fast and the only worst part is wiping it off your face. With licking someone is literally putting their tongue on your face so you feel their tongue and saliva at the same time then you have to wipe it off, there’s no fast parts in that it’s a process.

Y e p. Spitting is now a more dangerous and suspendable action then a player sucker punching a restrained player and licking players is totally fine.

Marchand received nothing more than a slap on the wrist when he licked like three players in the playoffs. He wasn't even fighting or being held back by refs, he did it just because he could. Garnet was fighting someone else before getting restrained by the ref and that's when Gudbranson came in, started shit, and sucker punched Garnet. He couldn't fight back since the ref was holding him and he couldn't do anything else besides spit.

And what's funny to me is that the fucking head of Player Safety, George Parros, was an enforcer himself. You'd think he would crack down on the dirty hits, whether intentional or not, while also cracking down on the repeat offenders. But this clearly hasn't been the case, as evidenced by Hathaway being suspended for spitting, Tom Wilson pretty much being the only repeat offender to be heavily punished despite obviously improving his self control, and by the fact many dirty hits- both by first time offenders and repeaters- over the past few seasons were not reviewed and/or were not deemed suspendable.

Players with dangerous and dirty hits that should be suspended without a blink of an eye are either getting zero punishment, an extremely light suspension for a dangerous hit, or given a slap on the wrist like a fine or a warning. But a restrained player spitting on someone else who sucker punched him is worth a three-game suspension.

If the Dept of Player Safety wants to stop being a fucking oxymoron, they need to fucking crack down on everyone, recreate whatever deems a hit, play, action suspendable, have equal punishments across the board for both first time offenders and repeat offenders, take into account the repeaters that're actually trying to improve themselves vs the ones who don't, and keep it all consistent.
