Could you give more info on your recent tag saying DXE is not a good organization to get involved with? I've been following the Wayne Hsiung trial and had not heard of dxe previously, is it something vegans should be wary of?
Prism Reports published a pretty comprehensive article on some of the more serious allegations against DxE here, and DxE themselves have responded to some of them here. I'll include both for balance and so that you can come to your own conclusions.

per Direct Action Everywhere’s social media—
“BREAKING: DxE is releasing an investigation manual to inform people about how to expose animal abuse and help animals in need. This manual is the first of its kind and is being published just days after Wayne Hsiung was sent to jail for his roles in exposing the criminal animal cruelty at two factory farms in Sonoma County. The industry is expecting us to be afraid and stand down, but the reality is that ordinary people everywhere are becoming grassroots investigators and the open rescue movement is growing. They can't imprison a movement. Light is shining into the dark where animals are being abused and the public is learning the truth. Now, you can learn in detail about how this tactic works by reading the investigation manual at dxe.io/manual #RightToRescue”
Do you want to learn about how grassroots investigators are exposing factory farms, slaughterhouses, and other places that abuse animals?
DxE has just published an in-depth Investigation Manual that breaks down the best practices for executing investigations and exposing animal cruelty. It was written and reviewed by experienced investigators who have hundreds of hours of experience in the field. The 150-page manual covers topics including:
Vetting your team
Security culture
Cybersecurity
Identifying different kinds of facilities from satellite imagery
Biosecurity protocols
Equipment checklists
Detailed instructions for various roles in the field
Press pitching
And much more

Getting an adulthood diagnosis for something that's been present since early childhood is sooooo fucking 👁️👁️ there's catharsis sure yeah but the struggle comes from trying to forgive your child self for failures you weren't really having.
Anyway shout out to my autoimmune girlies. Who else got shamed for early childhood cavities and expensive adolescent surgeries only to find out as an adult you are full of mouth-ruining antibodies lol. Girlies who else is unpacking their "chronic illness bad teeth = shameful moral failing" buuuullshit? Anyway I'm still trying to save $16,000 to fix fucked teeth I thought I brought on myself, but only discovered in 2023 were due to medical study candidate levels of sjogrens antibodies and severely medically mismanaged sle 🤪

honestly as a neurodivergent person it annoys me more when people say kms over the most insignificant things than when they use my disorder an a quirky expression to be dramatic. they're essentially the same thing to me

The funniest recurring comment I got from the nurses when I was a psych unit desk clerk was "wow you're great with psychotic patients, have you thought about becoming a nurse?"
Like my dude There is a reason I'm good with fellow psychotics and it is the opposite of what you assumed

as an unambiguous symptom and longtime dx haver in this equation i have gotta say this is such a strange premise of a conversation to me like trauma disorders are one of the areas that give me greatest pause in a lot of ppls arguments in social construct of mental illness debates bc like trauma and the brain's responses to it are not gonna change with the downfall of psychiatry that is not made up rules but like this list of things IS the made up rules part of it like i feel like the point is more that we should be evaluating responses to trauma outside of the construct of how well they conform to other people's experiences or rather an overgeneralized characterization of other people's experiences in something as evil as the dsm like every time i see something with the basic argument of don't worry there's room in this oppressive structure for you too i am always just kind of sitting there like how is it not obvious that the underlying problem here is the fact that instead of those suffering from trauma being like im really struggling with xyz i need help the chokehold psychiatry has on us means people go well im not suffering from abc so xyz isn't really a problem esp bc this flavor of argument always inevitably leads to everyone desperately trying to avoid the unattractive truth that some experiences within a diagnosis are greater barriers to one's ability to function than others some are just kind of worse but we literally do not have to do that dance we can all say no to kissing the boot of the dsm and opt out of that discomfort altogether it is shockingly easy actually.

eh. eht! I just get the feeling that sometimes when ppl say “destigmatize [Condition]” they do not actually know what a stigma is and in fact are just looking up How To Not Mis-ID Some Poor Un[condition]ed Bystander And Actually Target The REAL [Condition] Freaks So We Can Stig All Over Them
