Okay, the Dunkin near me had ‘kolache’ on their menu. My stepdad is 2nd generation Czech so I was fucking ready.
But they are just gloridied pigs in a blanket. Not yeasty pastry with a fruit center! 😭
Did some research and apparently at least in Texas the blanket pigs are what they refer to using ‘kolache’. Got me curious

The krispy Kreme next to my job opens tomorrow and the Gen manager came by dropping off fresh baked donuts and my fat ass literally whispered into my mic at my asm that he accept the peace offering because both of our stores are about to make money since there is no donut place in the mall and we the only Starbucks in the mall like I really need to get that gym membership so I can consciously eat donuts....sike I'mma eat them anyways. Now I get Dunkin Shipley's and krispy Kreme all near my house just like back in the day. Also this donut is good and I'm too broke to buy anything until Friday so thank you krispy Kreme manager for feeding me today because all I've had was a bagel and a red bull and monster and some water and now this donut. I hope this location sells kolaches which I doubt because none of the other Houston area ones sell it and I'd have to go to San Antonio near UTSA to get them. Oh well.

Daniel Chester/Shutterstock
Annually, Veterans Day is celebrated on November 11 to honor both our veterans and those who are actively serving in the military. In 2018, because this federal holiday falls on a Sunday, many schools, businesses, and government agencies will observe Veterans Day on Monday, November 12. There are a slew of restaurant chains that pay homage to these brave, selfless individuals by offering up Veterans Day free meals on either the actual holiday or the day it is largely being observed. Use this roundup of eateries to find out where you can order up a complimentary dish as a thank-you for your service. In most cases, all you need is some form of military ID.
Famous Dave’s
Head over to this barbecue joint on either November 11 or November 12 for what Famous Dave’s refers to as a free “2 Meat Salute.” Choose from the tasty menu, which includes items like Sweetwater Catfish Fingers and Georgia Chopped Pork, then add a side and a corn bread muffin to complete the meal. Check out 10 simple ways to support veterans that everyone can do.
Acapulco
On Sunday, November 11, Acapulco will serve Veterans Day free meals to all veterans or current service members anytime from 3 p.m. until closing time.
