I was inspired to draw a scene from an Asha lives AU. She's yelling at Kestrel for being so harsh on the dragonets.

I imagine Clay and Asha would be incredibly close, as she is his aunt and the only MudWing role model he has. She'd be protective of him and probably Glory as well.

do you think dune kinda knew sunny was a hybrid because

he knew thorn didnt tell many people about the egg, he knew that she didn’t reveal the father at all

and stealing the egg he wouldve been like “hrm. this looks different from a lot of sandwing eggs. must be a thing thorn’s family has idk”

and when sunny popped out with her clearly not sandwing coloration and her clearly not sandwing tail he probably thought “oh shit. that explains it ig”

like we know almost nothing about him but i think he wouldve protected sunny in his own little way. like “oh yeah, that’s just a thing with some sandwing eggs. it’s somethign that occurred in her mother’s family dont worry about it” and no one couldve argued because he’s the expert or whatever

like he wouldn’t have told sunny. he was part of burn’s army and she wasn’t a fan of hybridization. like yeah! he hated burn! but that mentality probably stuck with him a bit. and even if he didn’t want sunny to get hurt because she was the daughter of his friend he also didnt want her or anyone else to know.

Dune!! Haven't done canon WoF art in a little bit.

When I was young and reading through the series for the first time, I remember liking him the most out of all of the guardians, for some reason. And then he died 😐 The first book was so brutal lmao.

I wish the graphic novels had portrayed him correctly :/ With his missing limb and stuff. Pretty sure this was just a mistake by the artist, but still.

Oh, and in the leaked animatic for the cancelled WoF Netflix show, he had a southern accent?? GUYS they took southern Dune from us 😭💔

Yeah, I think those are all of the thoughts I have on him 🤷

Dragonet guardians headcanons

Webbs- • used to be close to the royal family • born to two of Coral’s advisors • was taught by Whirlpool and HATED him • had his whole life planned out for him by his parents • his wife and son were everything to him • he and his wife weren’t in love, they were a QPR • was in love with Dune but never told him • Aquatic was his least favourite subject • thus he didn’t teach it to Tsunami

Kestrel- • proposed to Soar but he abandoned her • knew Sky was still alive but didn’t trust herself as a parent • Scarlet bullied her as a dragonet • Clay was her favourite of the DoD • she and Asha were in a relationship • knew Blister would kill her but went anyway

Dune- • loved Sunny like a daughter • trust issues after Burn caused his injuries • was very close with Hvitur • misses Six-Claws and idolises him • tries to teach the dragonets in the way Six-Claws taught him.

Dune the Sandwing

Speaking of the graphic novel…

Dune’s design (among other things) in the novel surprised me a bit if I should be honest

He lost one of his forelegs, and his right wing because of serious injuries he received from fighting with a Icewing soldier, but in the graphic novel we don’t see him with those injuries

I‘m also confused why the opening with Burn, Hvitur and the SkyWing egg got cut out as well?

At first I thought it’s because of some sort of censorship? But later in the book we see Queen Scarlet snap Dune’s neck, Horizon burning to death because of Peril, Fjord gruesomely dying to Glory’s venom, a battlefield full of dead dragons ect.

I hope none of this came across as rude ^^“

Despite the things I mentioned I still really like the graphic novel and the work that went into them

I even ordered the newest one that got out!

I like to imagine he kept the amber earring from the OutClaws as a reminder to never betray anyone like he betrayed Thorn by stealing an egg from her. Also the key is the one that Clay mentioned he wore around his neck. I think it looks better like this anyway.
