It’s a pattern that’s been around for at least 6 years and I don’t think the writers will stop anytime soon. The animators are their scapegoats and it’s such bullshit.

To me, it doesn’t matter if they didn’t intend for the interactions to be flirty. They were seen as being flirtatious and the writers need to stop deflecting blame/making excuses, get off their high horse, and own up to their fuckups, which I doubt they’ll ever do.

Legit: The only thing about this episode that I'm upset about is that it's a side character that's confirmed trans on-screen. Because outside of that, the whole episode is freaking awesome.

This episode was amazing. I do like that they explicitly made May trans on screen! I was worried they weren’t gonna say anything in the show and just keep it to “it’s confirmed by word of god” which I personally feel (and I could totally be wrong, this is just my cishet opinion) isn’t the best kind of trans rep? Because WoG can just be easily ignored or not even known at all. Like, you wouldn’t know May is trans if you don’t follow Kdin or anyone who’s following her. I like how May said with her whole chest “I’m not anyone’s son.” That’s fucking dope

If I ever become POTUS, I’m going to get the list of everyone who voted for Trump in 2016 and 2020, and I’m going to publicize them.

I'm a fan of Apex of the World as a CF boss song, and all I can say is… Fair point. That should have been a pre-boss song for CF and a unique song should have been done for the final boss map.

See, for CF it makes sense because Rhea’s backstory isn’t expanded on, so for that to be the final theme it adds to the “We need to stop this character because we think she’s evil.”

Funeral of Flowers works so well because Rhea’s backstory IS expanded on, so we find out that she isn’t some tyrannical psycho who is deluded into the thought of betrayal, but moreso a victim of genocide who lived in constant fear of herself and her family dying. So when she goes insane, Funeral of Flowers is perfect because we have to put down the shell of someone who once was soft and kind and gentle.

Therefore, when Edelgard’s a boss in Azure Moon, there should have been something more tragic to her theme because to Dimitri, that’s his childhood friend/step-sister who feels that she can’t trust him enough to find a path to peace with him. Something with the main notes of Edge of Dawn’s chorus, less hopeful sounding than Apex of the World. Maybe sample “Unfulfilled”.

I think that maybe someone guessed what would happen in the Volume's finale, so the writers scrambled the animators to change it for that bullshit "subvert expectations" reason. Because that's what it feels like. It really feels like they did all of that for the singular and sole purpose of "subverting expectations."

If that’s the case they also subverted the expectation of the show to be fucking good imo

Despite the fact that Yang, Blake and Weiss JUST got theirs, Ruby, Ozpin and Oscar are in the middle of theirs and Ironwood has one BLATANTLY telegraphed.

And 3. Miles is just in general, egotistical.

“We can’t bully the dead into giving into our demands and the other writers are all too strong for us to try and attack without getting burned. So we’re just gonna attack the weakest link because that’s what bullies do.”

- Their greatest strength as a couple would be their ability to compromise and working well together in any given situation.

- Their weakness would be that Summer can be a bit overprotective, which could drive Raven away sometimes. Raven can be prone to a bit of jealousy as well.

45) Any special dreams or goals they have as a couple? Any heartbreaks? Regrets?

- Summer has always wanted to start a family with Raven. Raven just doesn’t want to lose Summer because she’s so important to her and she eventually starts to consider the idea of raising a family with Summer more. If we look at canon, there’s lots of heartbreak there, so we’re going to explore a much more happier scenario. Maybe the two of them would break up for a brief period of time, but eventually they’d get back together. Not sure about any regrets aside from Raven maybe regretting not asking Summer out sooner.

seriously tho, tai, qrow, and ironwood are in the bushes (ironwood is there because he thought he and qrow were going on a date, poor guy) and tai is feeding lines to raven but raven is so nervous she keeps messing them up

tai: say “your eyes are beautiful”

raven: uh m-my eyes are beautiful

summer: huh?

raven: shit YOUR eyes are beautiful!!

qrow and james are in a different set of bushes doing the same thing for summer but with markedly better results

james: tell her that her piercing eyes haunt your every waking moment because you always want them on you

summer: *repeats correctly*

qrow, flustered: jimmy when’d you learn how to flirt

james, who is using this as a way to practice for when he and qrow go on a date: uh.
