update post — everything that's happened since july 3rd, 2022

hi everyone!

a little over a year and a half ago i stopped posting or using tumblr at all. long story short, i don't think it was a hiatus, and i don't think i am coming back.

a lot has happened since then! i mostly stopped being a part of the elder scrolls fandom. i don't really play skyrim anymore, and i sure as hell don't make content anymore. i've also (mostly) stopped writing, but the little i do write, i can't justify in posting. i stopped making tumblr posts, even on other blogs. all of the time i spend on tumblr now is scrolling through hashtags.

i've tried several times to rekindle the attachment that i had for skyrim and tumblr and in hindsight, i think i was more attached to the memories i've made in this fandom and on tumblr than anything else.

seeing as this blog started out as an elder scrolls blog, i've decided that i should archive this blog and properly say goodbye. it's a lot of work maintaining more than one social media, and i have too long of a list of irl commitments that will only continue to grow. but i want to thank everyone i've met here for all the wonderful memories! i was mostly active here during a not great point in my life and i don't think i would have gotten out as easily if i didn't have y'all. thank you.

These siblings have very different sleep schedules, so while Brennen sleeps Ambrosia is out doing her things, and she has become the dust bunny whisperer!!

At the time of writing this post we have 3 dust bunnies. I do not remember their names sadly :( I think one is Chai and another one is Clover. The third one might be Dusty? I’m not sure... but they’re very helpful!!

Yeah, right, FromSoft would never have the guts to make a boss that:

Has six phases

Will nuke 80% of your health bar in a single attack unless you have frame-perfect dodge/parry timing

Shuts down half your powers (including, oh, the ability to heal) in the first half of the fight

Only allows you three partial heals in the second half

Chucks a very tough miniboss at you halfway through the fight

Surrounds the arena with a shrinking barrier that will gradually k word you if you stay outside it for too long

Just straight-up covers the arena with a minute-long AoE attack that stunlocks you to eeby deeby unless you sacrifice a heal point to use a special move to shut it down in time

Is named CORRUPT ROT GOD

This is my second favorite part about playing Skyrim. Sir. You have an arrow. In your face. I definitely understand your motivation for trying to kill me, what I do not understand is the how.

#skyrim #also featuring one of the many awesome dual-wielding animations available to npcs in skyrim in the background #despite the fact that all npcs can theoretically dual wield in this manner none of them ever will #because this ability is locked behind a ton of windows and popups and very nonintuitive button presses in the ck #where you will eventually find a checkbox that is unchecked by default #i checked it for all my rangers (except lothrandir because when its checked it overrides his preference for hand to hand)#and i dont know why its unchecked by default because its super cool and there arent any problems with it #i mean i guess it makes enemies a bit more dangerous and harder to block but its just an added challenge #i never block anyway #oh yeah also speaking of rangercamp candaith is STILL heading down to the sleeping giant for some reason all the time #which makes sense i never did have a chance to dig around and see why he was doing that #but it does show that it wasnt a crazy random glitch #although these custom followers really dont behave like normal skyrim followers in a lot of ways #or even npcs #like when theyre not active followers #one of their patrol points goes near a random encounter spawn point so sometimes theyll get into fights while patrolling #and i saw candaith SNEAKING while doing this once? like? on his own? he was just doing npc things not a follower #and he was SNEAKING #when has anyone seen an npc sneaking in skyrim? because i never have outside of scripted events
