i wonder if sekiro's lost arm will decay?

like, i wonder if his immortal oath applies to his whole person, regardless of whether or not it is attached to his person, you get me

like, there's no reason to believe that it wouldn't

he can't reform a lost limb, so we do draw a limit to his resurrective power there, but he can clearly carry on without it

what's to say his arm can't carry on without him?

i wonder if all his spilled blood remains fresh and fragrant with the scent of cherry blossoms ad infinitum

i wonder if you cut him up into a hundred tiny pieces and scattered those pieces across a distance, whether or not he could resurrect again

(i wonder if he's like annalise, queen of the vilebloods, where even if he is ground to a paste, he can be resurrected)

Sekiro Theory for the three years between Hirata and the start of the game:

(This is based on the idea that the first "memory" Sekiro goes through at Hirata Estate is the most correct from his real experiences)

Sekiro was sent away from the estate by Owl to fight in the battle, under the guise that Owl would protect Kuro for him while he was away.

Owl intended to kidnap Kuro during the raid, but failed when Lady Butterfly arrived with the same intentions. Injured and unable to break through the illusions, Owl locked her inside the burning temple, knowing Kuro would survive due to the Dragon's Heritage.

After Sekiro arrives to confront Lady Butterfly, Kuro hides in the upper part of the house. He sees Owl enter the temple and leave again, but doesn't come out when Owl calls for him because he only trusts Sekiro.

Once Owl leaves, fearing the whole temple collapsing, Kuro finds Sekiro barely alive and brings him into the Immortal Oath.

Lord Genichiro, sent to Hirata to search for survivors, witnesses Sekiro emerge from the burning temple with Kuro in his arms. Sekiro succumbs to his wounds (again) in front of Genichiro and resurrects, which is incidentally Genichiro's first realization that Kuro is the Divine Heir.

Genichiro takes Sekiro to Doujun to study his resurrection. During this experimentation, Sekiro loses many memories from Hirata and more.

Genichiro tries to convince Kuro that Sekiro died while saving him. Kuro insists otherwise, eventually confessing to Isshin that Sekiro must still be alive because of giving him the Dragon's blood.

Upon realizing that there is no way to extract the power from Sekiro, Genichiro tosses him into the well while telling him he failed his duty and Kuro is dead. Hence why he chops Sekiro's arm off in the field, he knows killing him will not last but crippling him might.

I might write this into fanfic one day, we'll see haha!
