If my reader characters had no personalities, no backstories, nothing, I’d have no fic. Because they’d have no motivations. No challenges. Nothing to overcome.

Rocks for brains is what they’d have.

Characters have impact on the story, on the world. I’m so fucking sorry you have no imagination, no empathy, no ability to recognize what’s exists for the sake of the story and what you can take or leave as far as projecting.

#I do my best to make sure I at least don’t describe actual physical traits #certain things like hairpins can be taken or left #a character wearing a certain dress can be taken or left if you want to imagine something else idc #but I never describe specific features because they don’t even fucking matter unless the reader is intended to be a certain way #And I know maybe it isn’t for everyone to read reader inserts anyway #but like go read a fucking book and tell me you agree or disagree with like fucking Holden Caulfield #like maybe you don’t have to be able to project 100% maybe the author doesn’t know you!!!!! #in this drawing i wanted to use the song ‘Square’ by Mitski #personally i feel like this song is about being in love and trying far too hard to be the perfect lover that you are incapable of being #to me it’s like trying to see where you fit in that person’s life and not knowing where you belong in it #but then you’re still longing for that feeling of belonging there with them #so you self-destructively go to great lengths to ‘earn’ your place with them #i feel that the self-destructive behavior of trying to be that perfect lover just to ‘earn’ their love #is exactly the ‘burning’ that Mitski describes #it hurts trying to fit in but not quite succeeding again and again and again... #this is something that i think i relate to #trying far too hard to belong with someone who is 'only sometimes madly in love with me' #and says that i 'wouldn't be their first choice' #-that person kept switching between wanting me as a friend and a lover and now i am neither #and yet therein lies the problem: if i cared less and gave less effort #perhaps we could’ve worked things out without me trying too hard to “earn” their love #but why would i ever try to care less? #the situation was doomed from the start and i lost a friend in the process #i made this illustration to reflect that the best i could. I think the square motif was particularly obvious— #the canvas itself is a square and the illustration itself has to fit in a square box #everything else i drew would have to fit within this box to maintain the “order” #the colors are all some type of blue with not too much contrast except for the text eyes and teardrop on the figure #i wanted to keep contrast low within this illustration— everything should be “fitting in" after all #for the figure itself i wanted it to be clear that the figure is being forced into that square #its body’s being forced into that half of the box and even then its head is forced downwards #it’s clearly not fitting comfortably but it’s sure trying its hardest to #also also also!!! i wanted to do more angular shapes with this drawing because square and whatever lol :P #i don’t think i was particularly obvious in communicating that in the drawing though #but anyways i just wanted to draw to help process something that happened to me a while back :0 #i still think i love that person but just like how i don’t have a place in their life #i don’t think they have a place in mine and i think i’m starting to make peace with that :D #jaevyart

my only general predictions for jjk is that Yuuji will be able to target the different souls in Sukuna’s body to be able to reach Megumi’s suppressed soul and attack sukuna’s. Im actually interested in how this will all go down, especially with Higuruma in the mix, since these fights can’t be as simple as two overpowered characters with the loss of multiple special grade sorcerers. With the potential of a court trial domain or Yuuji’s knowledge of the soul, I imagine it’ll become more psychological or metaphysical in the fighting, with a lot of good insight into sukuna and/or yuuji, megumi, etc. As for Kenjaku, I have NO idea where their story is going (apart from Yuuta wanting to kill them), but i enjoy that part of the story being unpredictable—it fits their character

#jjk spoilers #I feel like it’s a given at this point that yuuji is planning something w Sukuna’s soul #since yukis book and literally everything else that points to shit happening w the soul and body #the methods and execution are unknown but yeah despite general fan consensus I feel like it’s obvious saving megumi IS in the mind of Yuuji #and there’s probably gonna be a lot of metaphors and whatnot about identity and the body and soul #hopefully sukuna and heian era flashbacks 🤕 #kenjaku on the other hand is simultaneously a detailed planner with a mission and an unpredictable entity who has to adapt to any situation #meeting takaba for example 😭 #I’ve said this many times but kenjakus appeal is not just them being a typical evil mastermind who controls the plot #we get to know them. and how they ARE despicable and cunning. but they’re also kinda a loser who runs into a lot of issues and trials/errors #it makes it feel realistic. and also just entertaining to watch #there’s probably a more clever way of describing who kenjaku is vs what they desire but I don’t have the brain for that lol #I’m just vaguely very fascinated by their character #kenjaku #sukuna #itadori yuuji #if making excessive rants in the notes was a competition I would destroy any competitor 😭 #i feel like there’s a lot of interesting stuff with kenjaku and sukuna that I never see people discuss 😭 but I’m also terrible at writing #so I can’t put anything to words
