According the official PreCure anniversary Twitter account, a novel based on the "Doki Doki! Pretty Cure" anime, taking place after the events of it, will be released sometime this year.

It will be part of the Character Bunko label published under Kodansha. Six other PreCure novels were published under this label, including novels focused on: "Futari wa Pretty Cure," "Heartcatch Pretty Cure!," "Fresh Pretty Cure!," "Smile Pretty Cure," "Suite Pretty Cure," and "Futari wa Pretty Cure Max Heart." The last of these was released back in 2017.

The DokiPre novel will be written by the anime's head writer, Ryota Yamaguchi, and the cover will be illustrated by the anime's character designer, Akira Takahashi.

Further information will be released on the anniversary Twitter account when the time comes.

​mostly because I don't like Nagisa at all and she's kind of the main focus of both series. Honoka is basically just a back dropping for Nagisa and as far as I've heard, Hikari gets that treatment even worse in Max Heart.

I was thinking about "what is 'normal' for the precure franchise" so I made this chart. it's not very accurate but it gives a rough idea of when new cures appear in different series

suite has the longest wait for the official transformation of the final member (michiru and kaoru, henri, and cure oasis all transform later but are more like "extra heroes")

happiness charge is unique in that three of the main characters appear transformed in the first episode but iona doesn't formally join the team until later

the main team debut episodes happening all in a row (fresh, smile) is actually rarer than teams where there's at least one episode that breaks the chain by not introducing a new girl's precure form

if delipre and hiropre are evidence of a new trend then debuts will continue to be spaced widely apart

the yellow cure appears before the blue in yespre, smilepre, kirapre, tropre, and delipre. she appears after the blue in freshpre, heartcatch, dokipre, hachapre, gopre, hugpre, healpre, and delipre

hugpre is the only time two new cures appear in the same episode and it is not the first episode of the show

"sixth cure" debuts shifted noticeably from episode 22 or 23 to episode 20 and then again to before the 20th episode

ok so dokipre definitely aired after kr blade, which means cure sword i named after kamen rider blade

"why is cure sword named after kamen rider blade?" good question. you might think this is a coincidence but i have 3 crucial pieces of evidence

sword and blade are synonyms in english

their family names are both kenzaki

they both have the spades motif

now, any two of these three alone would have been a convenient coincidence, but put them all together, plus the fact that toei owns both shows, and you get a reasonable explanation
