Don't capitalize canine breed names all the time. Many breed names are made up of capitalized proper words and lowercased generic terms (like retriever or terrier).
Breed names frequently include a place name, as seen in the following references to the nation of origin of the breed:
French bulldog
German shepherd
Irish setter
Portuguese water dog
Sometimes the place-name refers to a region within a country:
Airedale terrier
Akita
Brittany spaniel
Labrador retriever
A generic term of foreign origin might also be combined with a place-name:
Lhasa apso
Another formulation for breed names includes the name of the person who created the breed:
Doberman pinscher
Gordon setter
Jack Russell terrier
Many breed names are composed entirely of generic terms, even though the terms may no longer be common parlance or may be of foreign origin:
affenpinscher
cocker spaniel
miniature schnauzer
Yet other breed names are capitalized according to convention and for clarity:
Old English sheepdog
Shiba Inu
These same guidelines apply to other animal breeds, like cats or cattle:
Maine coon
Texas longhorn
Consult a dictionary like Merriam-Webster when you’re uncertain.

I think what Brennan is doing with the Rat Grinders in terms of the overall mystery of this season is like genius.
We started out with Kipperlilly Dogname and Rueben who the Bad Kids instantly had an antagonistic relationship with.
Then we moved to Mary Ann who was like scarily good at blood rush but she was not outwardly antagonistic towards Gorgug or Fabian. It was more like she was nonchalant towards them.
Then we meet Oisin who seems nice and friendly and even offers to help Adaine with wizard classes but at the same time we meet Ivy who is back to having weird tension with both Fabian and Fig.
And we have Buddy Dawn who is a weird piece of the puzzle because he was not apart of anything that happened in Sophmore year as he only joined later.
But because of these set ups, the audience cannot be 100% sure of the rat grinder’s intentions. Like are they evil or misguided? are all of them in on the plot or is it only a couple of them? Do they know what’s going on at all? It seems they do but this could also be a red herring. Did they cause the death of Lucy Frostblade or are they also secretly investigating it?

Embarks going to send me a health-only test (at the worlds smallest discount but whatever) so I can re-test Stellina and hopefully get some more context for kep’s results.
Honestly the worst part is I have to make it as a new profile, and embark dogs are listed as “dogname + number of dogs with that name on file” e.g. Kepler89 = he is the 89th dog named Kepler that they’ve tested. But Stellina is just “Stellina” because she was the first dog they ever got with that name. And now she’s being downgraded to like Stellina5. Rip.

I'm currently doing some editing on Homebirds, so here's a wee excerpt from that!
Joe appeared at the corner of the hallway, walking with a lingering look on the folder in his hand, his other hand not visible to her. He glanced up, not enough to make eye contact with her. But what was he doing up here on this floor? His office was downstairs. He had no reason to be here. And so close to the roof? If she were like Catherine, her hackles would rise.
The hallway filled with the sharp sound of a dog barking and she nearly had a stroke. She whipped around to look at Catherine, but it wasn’t her. Joe’s other hand was occupied by Dogname’s leash, who was now diving forwards towards them with a perky bark and a lolling tongue. Denise didn’t love dogs, but Dogname was okay. And she didn’t seem interested in Denise, anyway. She was making a beeline for Catherine.
Yes, Dogname does not yet have a name. Hence, Dogname!
