got paid 20 dollars to pet sit for like an hour and the only thing that wasn't easy was the spotted dog (his name is Rocco) nipping the back of my hand because he only knows me as "person who cuts nails" but i won him over with treats and by the time i left he was readily approaching me and licking my face and hands (including the spot he nipped. thanks buddy). lyla however, the black dog, is the one my parents fostered for a little bit so she was elated to see me. houdini, the handsome feline fellow, is super friendly so despite my allergies flaring up now i enjoyed his constant rubbing against my legs and hand and little motorboat purrs. 15/10 would do again

Very tumultuous 4 weeks until I figured out my cat was allergic to chicken. You know. The thing that's in every cat food ever.

#me having to give her half a benedryl every 8 hours to keep her from mutilating her tail tip no less #so i initially thought it was her wet food right? #she eats sheba wet food. specifically she loves the salmon flavor. #now you'd think that a salmon flavored cat food's first ingredient would be salmon no? #not so! its chicken. #she also eats friskies gravy swirlers which is salmon gravy and chicken flavored. #delightful right? #she was munching on that throughout her medication cycle no wonder she'd inexplicably start biting herself again #then the real kicker was when she stole some of my dogs weight maintenance food. first ingredient in that? chicken. #3 hours after her pill she goes ballistic on her tail. #all of these things have chicken in the ingredient list #rn shes on friskies seafood sensations ( which she seems to like ) #and her doses are a half pill every 8 hours as per her body weight. shes doing well. #my aunt got her a new food that's chicken and grain free and its salmon and trout flavor ( her favorite! ) #lets pray she a) likes it enough to keep eating and b) it helps her allergies so she stops hurting herself #and i never have to put a pill in her mouth ever again.
