There’s been some talk on weibo about a user who shared their observation and some insider information about what goes on behind the scenes of ZZ/WYB’s endorsement shoots. I always get wary of people who say they know things but this one can actually be verified, like for example how we noticed the same directing crew of 1LIN1 studios. The thing is we knew about the overlaps, we just needed someone to actually say it. I won’t go further into why these companies are hired and if the brands who do are somehow in same umbrella company— that’s a possibility. but since this is cpn, we will have to go the clown route. it’s just so sus. why is it always the two of them that tend to work with the same team. They are not even from the same entertainment company. It’s either one of them recommends it or YBO and XZS have an unwritten rule to book the same people. Who knows.

Last year, I stumbled upon it in my peers, because I never exposed myself to chasing stars in my three-dimensional work, so it was purely an accident.

My friend is a producer of a PR company, and the TVC of the former spokesperson was filmed by the team he hired. After the brand changed its spokesperson, the artist team (WYB) appointed a director team, and he has nothing to do with TVC. At that time, we were starting to noticr some of their commercials with the same TVC director🍬, which was nothing in my opinion, after all, it is normal for an artist’s commercial to have the same director, but it’s still good to hear the relevant details from the front line.

( i’m also adding this clarification OP said later on about how this all works ) : This needs to be explained that the designated team has nothing to do with the cost, the money is given by the brand, and the cost of the team designated by the artist is taken from the PR company. as long as it meets the budget, it has nothing to do with the artist team. The PR company could have used a team they knew well, and there was still some profit space in the middle. The artist designated the team and they could not make this part of the money, but there was no way. There must be a reason for the artist designation, that is to trust that team - note that OP’s friend is from PR and they couldn’t get extra profit since they did not choose the team.

OP goes on to detail the similarities and which brands, stating that the coincidences is getting higher and higher. for example, ( wyb ) Chunzhen, Lyfen, Rotai, Youku, AUX + ( xz ) LiuLiumei + Zwilling are all the same team and so on.

There is also a recent addition from a different user about another overlap with a production studio that did the work for Redmi x YSL x Shu Uemura. I think if we really look into all their endorsements, the evidence is there.

All the XZS 🤝 YBO coincidences are already pretty sus and now you add this to the mix. It makes sense for them to work with the same teams because it will be easier. Also, I would imagine they have the capacity to request that and their preference will be taken into account when they do production. They are on top of their game so being able to call the shots is something they can do. You hear rumors of XZ giving his opinions/demands on drama scripts and Yibo ( on video ) telling SDC crew to change rules if he sees that it does not make sense— so being able to ask for a specific team is a small favor.

This should not be a surprise because if they can’t work together in the same project, then there will just be overlap behind the scenes. It’s mutually beneficial. No one is leeching from someone. I also do not believe in rumors that xx recommended xxx to a brand for them to sign because they couldn’t afford him. which is tbh, not a rumor i ever saw on bxgs account— so probably it’s from an anti. It’s a reminder that not all things and rumors are meant to be taken as candy. There are posts that include zz/wyb to some extent and it’s up for you to read between the lines and see that they are actually bringing down one person or both of them. As much as I love them as a pair, They are their own person. They are successful individuals who deserve recognition for what they achieved by themselves.

Now let’s move on to other CPNs. 📝

1. Both wearing AMIRI for their live events. ☺️ Also on HS, look at their names together! it’s them and another artist - Tan Jianci who did a live today. There is a running joke that other CPs are still operating on doing livestreams on different days, in the meantime, BJYX are on the next level. They do it the same day but at different times.

2. I noticed in the Tasogare behind the scenes, there is a story board of ZZ’s love interest. The thing is, the girl does not have white rimmed sunglasses on so i wonder where that came from. I saw a comment that it was from the actress, but I can’t verify it. There is no interview or article about the details on the story. The shoot for SDC where Web was wearing similar glasses was June and ZZ’s Tasogare shoot was July. I’m still believe this is the case of the Universe confirming that ZZ is in love with someone who has short hair, recently wore white rimmed sunglasses and has a skateboard on hand.

An interesting tidbit is that the girl’s “look” in the final cut is similar to Faye Wong’s in Chungking Express. Look at the young Tony Leung 😍 YIBO IS COSPLAYING FAYE WONG LOL. 😂😂😂

3. Sometimes, i don’t buy the significance of photo placements and other times they do. well, this one got me. In XZ studio’s photo they chose the one with LOVE on it to be the 8th picture. 8 = Bo. If they really wanted to go full on fan service, they could have placed that front and center saying GG loves his fans ( i bet he does but you know what i mean ) ; but he didn’t. That very special word is saved for the 8th spot.

The scans have been out a few days now so I’m posting this. We just got Hiori’s backstory so let me expel more Hiorin headcanons onto you good people (seriously why are we so delusional abt this ship???) — obviously massive spoiler warning as of chapter 206 of the manga.

Also a cw for child abuse — these hcs pretty much all deal with their trauma:

Hiori and Rin have had a very long, very depressing trauma dump conversation about their families.

Rin has decided to add Hiori’s parents to the ‘I’ll fucking kill them’ list inside his head… which he totally has for no reason in particular…

Hiori likewise understands Rin’s resentment towards Sae deeply and doesn’t blame him at all for feeling so angry and upset.

The fact that the family members they hate are all telling them they aren’t good enough as they are (Sae explicitly, Hiori’s parents implicitly) ends up becoming a means of mutual understanding between them, allowing Hiori to feel a bit safer around Rin and Rin to not hate Hiori like he does the rest of Blue Lock.

Rin has tried to subtly allude to the idea that Hiori can move in with him at any time to get away from his family. Hiori has only half picked up on the signals though because a) Rin is shit at communicating anything nice, and b) Rin’s almost year younger than Hiori so it doesn’t actually make much sense to do that but it’s the thought that counts.

A lot of their conversations take place in the monitor room, in the dark, where they feel safest being vulnerable with each other (aka: see my fic on AO3).

Hiori has used dry, dark humour as a coping mechanism in front of Rin before and Rin has started doing it too occasionally.

So many “lol I hate my family, I hope they die, jk… unless?” jokes.

They end up having a mutual understanding for one another and can almost subconsciously pick up on when something reminds the other of their trauma.

For some more domestic, outside/no Blue Lock hcs (there’s a ton of food-related ones here idk why):

When they make dinner, Rin is sure to mix a healthy, balanced meal with convenience store foods coz Hiori hates eating a very strict diet. It reminds Hiori of the way his parents used to control everything about his life down to what he ate. Sometimes, Rin even makes a separate meal for himself because he wants to calorie count and know exactly what he’s eating, but Hiori’s had a bad day and really needs some instant ramen and pudding.

Hiori doesn’t have a big sweet tooth though, as a result of his parents’ conditioning. He didn’t grow up accustomed to sweet things so he finds anything too sugary difficult to eat (this comes from the egoist Bible where his least favourite food is cotton candy because of the sugar content). His love of salty food however is through the roof and Rin has to remind him to check the sodium contents on the meals he chooses at the convenience store.

Rin has stopped insulting or talking badly about Isagi around Hiori, purely because Hiori feels safe around Isagi. It’s a challenge, and mostly they try to keep Isagi out of their conversations altogether, but if he does come up Rin attempts to be neutral.

Sometimes, Hiori holes himself up in his computer room playing shooters. When that happens, Rin knows to leave him alone until he’s out of his slump, because it’s usually a sign that Hiori is remembering some bad memories. They both like their own space anyway, so it isn’t as if much changes in their routines.

While Hiori’s in a slump, Rin restocks their fridge with energy drinks and instant meals so Hiori can dip in and out to get food when he wants it. He eats alone unless Hiori texts him saying he’ll be out to get food.

Rin also doesn’t bring up anything to Hiori once Hiori re-emerges from his room, letting Hiori come to him if he wants to talk about it. Hiori knows Rin struggles with dealing with trauma, so he usually leaves it.

Once when Rin was having a particularly stressful time, Hiori bought him a whole box of his favourite ice creams (the ones he used to get on the way home from practice) and they had a competition to see who could get the most “winner” sticks. Rin won.

Hiori has also attempted to learn how to cook so he can make Rin food when Rin isn’t feeling up to cooking. Rin says he’ll just order takeout but Hiori insists on trying some of his recipes. How successful he is varies on how easy it is to throw the ingredients in a pan and let them simmer.

When sleeping together, they usually stick to their own sides of the bed but sometimes when Hiori is feeling upset he reaches out to Rin as a comfort. Rin isn’t the best at providing said comfort, but he lets Hiori into his arms in those moments.

On the flip-side, if Rin has been feeling angry or frustrated because of Sae, Hiori will slowly snake his arms around Rin’s torso and hug him close, becoming the big spoon despite being smaller. Rin places his hand over Hiori’s as a reassurance that he feels reassured doing this.

Sometimes, but not always, this nighttime cuddling leads to talking about their pasts. Rin always holds Hiori very close and says that Hiori was never in the wrong and never deserved to go through anything that happened as a result of his parents’ expectations (usually with a lot of colourful language). Hiori likewise will do the same for Rin whenever Sae gets brought up, although he’s less vulgar. His words are somehow even more scathing though.

They both find it easier to open up in the dark. It feels like a safety blanket that can hide their vulnerability, especially for Rin.

I don't even know what to say to this.

Who told you that it was 'rude' and 'hurtful'? It certainly wasn't me. I don't have a problem with people asking me honest questions that are in good faith. I answer all kinds of asks, regardless of my reaction to them.

I'm sure whoever said that to you meant well, but I don't want anyone putting words in my mouth. Whatever they said to you, that was their own perspective.

As for your ask, it actually did annoy me a bit, but not because there was anything rude or hurtful about it. I was annoyed because it contained things that are long-standing sources of annoyance for me (which isn't your fault).

First of all, you said "I know you don't believe kadian" which - honestly I've heard people say this before and I find it frustrating. I literally have a whole post that is prominently placed on my masterlist post, where I state pretty clearly that kadian is real. So when people say things like this it feels like they aren't paying any attention and are just making assumptions about me, or else they have poor reading comprehension.

I'm going to be really clear about this:

Being skeptical is not the same thing as being dismissive.

I am skeptical about a lot of candy and CPN, but that doesn't mean I don't buy candy and CPN. It just means that the candy and CPN I do buy is stuff I genuinely believe in - not because it's cute or makes me feel good (nothing wrong with that, but it's not what gets me excited), but rather because I've evaluated it and I feel (based on my own criteria) that it's well substantiated and real.

Contrary to another popular myth about me that also frustrates me (the ridiculous idea that I don't buy CPN and candy) - a huge percentage of my blog is devoted to CPN and candy, and in fact I think CPN and candy are pretty critical to turtledom.

I say this all the time and I hope it will sink in: it's never wise to paint with too broad a brush. Nuance, people. Not everything is black and white. Most things are grey. Just because I seem like a doubter on a lot of things, doesn't mean I don't have my own CPN, and doesn't mean I don't hold a lot of candy close to my heart, much of which I think is important and unwashable.

It seems like some people see a personality trait in someone and then try to extrapolate it across everything about them. Not only is it inaccurate, frankly it betrays a certain level of intellectual laziness. "Oh, here's the funny guy, everything's a joke to him." "Oh, here's the serious guy, he has no sense of humor." "Oh, here's the cutesy girl, she won't like this scary movie."

People are complex and often contradictory creatures. We shouldn't assume we have a read on someone just because we've picked up on a few of their character traits.

As for kadian - in my post about kadian I went to some pains to show that kadian is real, so I don't get why there's anyone out there who would think I don't 'believe' in it. In reality I think people who don't 'believe' in kadian as a concept are uninformed and out of touch. 'Not believing' in kadian would be like 'not believing' in slang acronyms like LOL and OMG.

Back to that 'broad brush' thing I just said - just because kadian is real, that doesn't mean a particular perceived kadian is real and intentionally placed. These things have to be examined in context in order to be properly evaluated.

On to the other, bigger reason your ask frustrated me.

Just Say No To The Turtle Binary

Your ask was about a 'kadian' you thought you saw in DD's post about being sick, and you felt it was evidence of a breakup.

Without realizing it, you stepped into something that bugs me about the fandom.

If you've been following me for any amount of time at all, you will know that one of my absolute pet peeves in this fandom is when turtles take everything GG and DD say or do as being deeply significant to their relationship. As I've said before -

👉🏻 almost nothing from or about GG or DD will actually be a candy. 👈🏻

I think the key to respecting and honoring their humanity is to love them as individuals first and foremost, and as a couple second. When we fixate entirely on their relationship we end up accidentally dehumanizing them and failing to recognize, respect and celebrate their individual achievements.

There are a lot of turtles in this fandom who take every single thing GG and DD do as either proof they are together, or else proof they are not together. And frankly, that doesn't make any rational sense.

If you've ever been in a long term relationship - or a relationship of any kind, whether family or friends - you should already know that almost nothing in our daily lives is about that relationship. Our day-to-day lives tend to revolve around work, school, hobbies and interests, other social interests and obligations. Almost nothing we do in our day to day lives is about any one particular relationship.

Just look at my own blog here. How often do I mention my partner? Almost never. But we've been married for years, and he's the most important person in my life. Why don't I mention him more? Because my life doesn't revolve around him.

GG and DD are no different. They are real, non-fictional human beings with busy lives and successful careers, and they have a ton of obligations and focuses and pursuits in their daily lives. Almost none of it is about each other. Why, then, would people be so ready to think that every post, every gesture, every clothing option, every decision, every goal is about each other?

Not only is that absurd just on the face of it, it's also absurd when you consider that the vast majority of things that ARE related to their relationship will never be made public for you and I to see.

Their lives are almost entirely focused on their careers. They work hard, they have packed schedules. They no doubt spend a lot of time connected to each other behind the scenes, via texts, video chat, etc. but most of their time will be taken up with their work, and with meetings and discussions with various handlers and brands and management and other career-related contacts.

It's going to be rare for us to catch a glimpse of something related to each other, because such things are going to be rare in their daily lives and in most cases shared privately.

So I am deeply dismayed when DD can't even call in sick without people assuming a break-up. It's not right. My god, let the man be sick for a day.

When it comes to kadian we need to remember that the context is actually more important than the numbers. What is the likelihood that any particular message is about something to do with their relationship? What is the likelihood that something important is going to be discussed or disclosed in that particular venue or format? What is the likelihood that GG and DD are going to send out key messages about their personal and private relationship in the timing of a Head and Shoulders ad?

DD is in the middle of promoting his new film, which - at the time - was just days away from being released. Can you honestly believe for one hot second that he's going to pick that time - of all the times in the world - to dicker around with cryptic, deeply consequential messages about his relationship? Consider his priorities, here. Consider the context and venue.

And have some empathy for the sick guy who was just trying to quell rumors that were flying about him.

When we evaluate anything they are saying or doing, we should be kind and empathetic about it, and on their side.

There were a lot of anti messages going around when he called in sick that day. People had all sorts of nasty theories about why he called in sick, including a theory that he was trying to generate sympathy to boost ticket sales.

Imagine that. Imagine if calling in sick to work made that big of an impact on your life and reputation? NO PRESSURE.

Like, woah. No wonder the guy never takes any time off anymore. No wonder he pushes through when he's got a sprained ankle or is practically falling over from exhaustion. The man can't take a day off without all hell breaking loose.

I expect that kind of thing from antis, but not from turtles. It's very disappointing.

A final note:

Another important thing I want people to fully understand and accept:

My failure to answer an ask is no commentary whatsoever on what I thought about that ask or about that person.

Anyone who has been following me for any amount of time at all should know that. I answer as many asks that annoy me as I do ones that make me laugh, smile or reflect.

In reality, if I don't answer your ask it's 99.9% of the time for one of these reasons:

I don't have time - I've been incredibly busy lately and have had very little time on Tumblr. Most of that time is spent scrambling to keep up with the content GG and DD and turtles have been releasing/discussing. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that this is pretty much always the reason I haven't answered an ask.

It's something I have already thoroughly covered, which can be found easily by doing even the barest search of my blog or browsing through my masterlist post. Given how little time I have for Tumblr, I'm not likely to spend much of it repeating myself.

It's a complicated question that will take a lot of time to answer, so the question ended up in my drafts folder as I pick away at it over weeks and months. My drafts folder is almost as backlogged as my inbox.

IT WAS NOT A QUESTION. I get quite a few of these. I've said this many times - my inbox is for questions.

Of course, anti BS, hate asks, etc. don't see the light of day, either, but that goes without saying.

If you've asked a question in good faith and it's not been answered, it's for one of the top 3 reasons on the list.

So, Anon, I found your ask frustrating, but I didn't find it 'rude' or 'hurtful'. And even though I found it frustrating, I didn't hold it against you because I know that approach is common among turtles. It's just a fairly standard part of the fandom that - while frustrating - I've more or less accepted as 'the way things are'.

So, no hard feelings. You didn't do anything wrong AFAIAC. I think you might want to do a bit more critical thinking than seems evident based on what you sent me, but you weren't rude or hurtful.

And to be clear, Anon: most of what I'm saying in this post isn't aimed at you. Like I said, I have a bit of a chip on my shoulder about a couple of things, and you were unfortunate enough to accidentally stumble across it. I definitely don't hold anything against you.

like i said in my previous post i really do like imagining goblin and sick demon interacting for a number of reasons but i wont pretend it's not also cause theyre both hot. LOL

even tho goblin is really physically fit (lugging around a giant cudgel the size of his whole body literally everywhere, not only that but he jumps and runs around with it too) he's still got a very round body shape with more than a little bit of a gut and i love that about him. he still retains the goblin physique... his ears look so so soft too, every part of him is so thick and squishy like his entire body is a stress ball. which makes for a really unique texture... it doesnt help that literally none of his outfits have pants either. everyone talks about underboob but what about underbelly

speaking of unique textures. the way they animate sick demon is so impressively different than the other characters, like he's so blobby and wiggly and stretchy and he's constantly morphing his body in different ways, if not completely liquefying himself, i feel like he could weasel out of any kind of grip and conform himself to any shape. it almost feels like his eyeballs and mouth are kind of floating around in a formless mass of non-newtonian fluid, like he's just one giant germ that really adds to his sickness themed design really well. i know im supposed to be talking about how sexy he is and i promise this ties into it but the animation and art direction for brave is so good that i feel the need to praise it at any opportunity

the noises he makes when he moves too. the little squeaky pop noises it makes when he walks as if he's sticking to the floor with every step, how he uses his limbs less like arms and legs and more like tentacles... just the way he moves is so unique id love to see him interacting with goblin's textures too. those squishy hands all over goblin's soft stomach, riding up his shirt... not to be a total pervert but i really wonder what sick demon's mouth tastes like. cause its completely neon green and he's made of an unknown substance, like... maybe it's got sort of a subtle sour taste or something. if you wanna get extra self indulgent id say it tastes like sour candy lol, just cos the color reminds me of toxic waste

67,450… which is a little crazy to me! (Also, in looking for these stats, I learned that “Can I Ask You a Question” has 15,998 words, and now it’s taking everything in me not to just go in and add two words somewhere. LOL)

I’m still a really new writer, and Bridgerton is the only fandom I’ve written in, technically… Although I once started a Poldark fanfic that I abandoned and never published. (That was back when I was still very gun shy about posting anything anywhere!)

I respond to every comment I see because I can’t believe how sweet people have been about my little stories. I so appreciate everyone who takes the time to say something nice!

I’ve always loved writing. Pretty much since I could hold a pencil, it’s been a sort of coping mechanism (and occasionally a source of stress 😆 ) but I’ve never ever felt confident enough to share anything with anyone. With fanfic, I finally freed myself to write little plotless stories and share them, and it’s been unbelievably rewarding and I genuinely feel it’s helping me grow as a writer. Knowing that people enjoy the thing that gave me so much joy to write is mind-blowing. ❤️

6- What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Honestly, I’m not that angsty in my writing. I think “Older but Just Never Wiser” was my angstiest fic, but the ending was still fairly sweet and resolved. I honestly can’t imagine myself writing something with an angsty ending!

7- What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Oh my gosh, I think my first one, “I’m So In Love…” was absolutely saccharine! It was nothing but candy-coated sweetness. However, “My Whole Life” ended in a proposal/engagement with like fireworks, so I guess it’s a coin toss.

8- Do you get hate on fics?

I haven’t yet! (Thanks, everyone!!)

9- Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

No — not yet! I’m definitely still too shy about it. But I do have an outline for a little something smutty that I wrote once when the muse visited me with it... Whether it will ever see the light of day depends on, like, my confidence and the supply of whisky in my house. Haha

10- Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?

No crossovers! I haven’t even read a lot of crossovers, so that’s completely uncharted territory for me.

11- Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not that I know of! (I don’t think I’m high-profile enough for that! LOL)

12- Have you ever had a fic translated?

I haven’t!

13- Have you ever co-written a fic before?

No! But that sounds super fun.

14- What's your all-time favorite ship?

Right now, I’m pretty ride-or-die for Kanthony. I’ve loved so many ships throughout my life, though!

15- What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

SO. About two years ago (before I came late to the Bridgerton party), I had watched Poldark and it was so beautiful but also had a lot of heart-wrenching aspects, which sort of matched the dark place I was in mentally, so I started a Poldark fic that was just full of angst and sadness and hurt feelings. I never finished it, but I think about it quite a lot, actually, and how I left those guys hanging. I’d love to finish it just to give them some closure, but I’m not really in that headspace these days (which is a good thing!).

Also, more recently, I had an idea for a Regency-era, canon-compliant Kanthony story that I actually did start (I wrote a prologue and have an outline for the rest of it) but as I’m getting into it, I’m rapidly losing confidence that it’s a good idea…. So I don’t know. It might end up abandoned. It’s Anthony POV and more angsty than my Midnights series. It would be a challenge to write, for sure, and maybe that’s why it makes me nervous!

16- What are your writing strengths?

Oh gosh, that’s so hard to answer. I like to think my writing paints a picture, because I see the characters and settings so vividly in my head. Hopefully that’s true!

17- What are your writing weaknesses?

Well, in a general way, second-guessing myself is the BIGGEST weakness. But I often catching myself writing in what I call “outline form,” where I write like “she did that. Then he said this. Then this happened.” And I have to go back and write in more emotional reactions and physical sensation. Also, I’m intimidated by writing conflict and angst. 😂

18- Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

That’s fascinating, and frankly it’s a really intimidating thought. Language is so complex that using a translator just doesn’t capture the full scope and meaning of words and phrases, does it? So, I feel like I would only go there if I could check with someone who knew the language.

19- First fandom you wrote for?

Oh wow. I guess technically that’s Poldark (see above) but back in high school (before I knew what fanfic was) I wrote out a prose version of scenes from a Broadway musical I was obsessed with because I wanted to explore the inner feelings of one of the characters. Nothing was really original, but I needed to do it in order to understand this character I couldn't stop thinking about. Now, looking back, I realize that was fanfic!

20- Favorite fic you've written?

I have this special place in my heart for “I’m So In Love…” because it’s the first fic I ever finished and the first one I ever shared. It also really captured a moment in time for me personally, so I think that one will always be a fave for me. Tied with it is “Stars by the Pocketful,” which was an idea that I carried in my heart for MONTHS before posting “So In Love” gave me the confidence to write it down. That one felt like it was burning a hole in my imagination for ages and I’m so genuinely happy with the finished product.

*oop almost forgot to post* -BUUUT, looks like HB's second-half of S1's finale is finally here! 👀Lets talk about it~

Spoiler thoughts below for those who haven't seen it-

The Positives:

-The background & Gluttony ring setting were pretty gorgeous to look at, wonderfully sickly sweet & inviting with all the honeycomb/beehive aesthetics~

-Kudos to Kesha making a stellar guest appearance as "Queen Bee(-lzebub)"; a charismatic and charming party girl who turned out to have more of a heart when it all came down to it (making sure everyone was well-fed, nudging Loona to go look after Blitz, her tender side to Tex, etc.), what a vibe~ 😊

-Loona gets to shine again in a speaking role, and this time wasn't too overly-moody/aggressive, but more anxious and unsure of how to make friends with all these wild party guests (which I'm sure anyone could relate to, in some degree 🥺). Even getting to see her acknowledging more of Blitz as her dad was a nice touch (for the time being at least) ^^

-Nice to see Blitz arrive as he could to help out Loonie, even after he already had a stressful night from "Ozzie's" (+drank himself silly at Bee's party), his daughter's presence being there for him in the darkest parts of his life is what matters most, aww~ ☺️

-Tex gets to return as the best wolf bro that he is, and his lil moments with his girlfriend Bee (while arguably a bit overdone with the “royalty x commoner” theme, given some other HB pairs we got atm-) were still pretty wholesome on their own too~ 💛

The Negatives:

-As sweet as it was to see more of Loona's softer/vulnerable side (especially when tending to her dad at the end)... idk, it just makes me all the more crushed at how "Seeing Stars" just threw away that potential development out the window, so her & Blitz actually get along for once here isn't meant to "mean" anything in the long run… 😔*sighs*

-Pacing felt a teeeensy bit rushed/unfinished in some parts... like on one hand you have Bee's song running for a good chunk of time (like a standard iTunes single), but stuff like Loona's anxiety/rivalry with those snobby dogs at the party wasn't really addressed afterwards once Blitz entered the picture (opting instead for filler of him drinking/fooling around while Loona's just... kinda "there", up until they go home)? Idk, I kinda get in-hindsight why Viv had to make this a shorter ep, but in this sense I feel like just a few more mins added could've really enhanced the story a lil better.

-While the tonal shifts weren't... too clunkily-handled compared to some of S2's lineup, I'll admit there's some parts that could've used a bit of tweaking in the emotional bits imo (Like Blitz just abruptly throwing up after moping about his love life... while funny initially, it still makes one wonder if it really "needed" to be there, yknow?)

-Enjoyably catchy as a classic lil callback to the early 2000s!era of pop/clubbing music… after a few listens. "Cotton Candy" does feel a lil too long/repetitive in a couple parts, I'll admit .w.; Which… probably was the intention now that I think about it ('cause yknow, Gluttony-) buuuut, ye lol

-As much as I enjoyed seeing Tex & his friendship with Loona again... ehhhh, with her lowkey still seeming to have a crush on him (+her implied jealousy at Bee), I'm a bit afraid this might lead to some unnecessary love triangle bs if not handled carefully .x.; Since we already got enough of that with Blitz' love life atm, we really don't need more melodrama tbh >>

-Finally... yeaaaaah I know this is already getting kinda "debated" enough already in the fandom, but as far as my thoughts on Bee's design goes? ...Kiiiiiinda don't really know what to think still tbh- ^^;;

Like, okay there's parts I do genuinely love about it, like the bee-theming, the honey hair & lava lamp aesthetic (+the lowkey-callback to the "Die Young" wolf girl was a cute touch)... buuuuut then you get to the random canine-bod/blue tuft of hair that the design just loses me from there, I'm afraid glkjgk .w.;;

Again, I don't hate the canon Bee design overall, and I'm curious to see if she'll make any other reappearances down the line (even if they might need to recast her for budget issues like w/ Striker)... buuut idk, if I had to personally reimagine her myself I'd personally lean more to her being a cute bee demon imho .3.

-Aaaaand yeah, that about covers it for my thoughts regarding this ep! :> I'd say overall I'd give it.... hmm, a B-rank perhaps? (hehe bee pun-) .3. A lil heavy on the filler in some parts (and in the long run could arguably be one of the more "skippable" eps), but for what its worth it had some good vibing moments for me as a palate-cleanser to some of the "lesser" S2 eps, previously ^^ 👍

A/n: hellloooo! I’m sorry if this comes out later than expected, I’ve been a bit busy lol. I also mixed this idea with another ask, just because it was basically asking for the same thing.

Hisoka’s ears were still ringing from the impact of the explosion, but still, he rushed to the body; “Y/n..” he could barely hear his own words. His large hands cupped her face, for a moment it felt like his world was crumbling. Her eyes were closed and her mouth slightly parted— even on her deathbed she looked beautiful.. like she was just sleeping.

He slowly lifted her head, his voice cracked in his own throat as he tried to keep it together. “Y/n..” he whispered, “Please..”

Footsteps were heard in the distance, Gon and his friends were also caught up in the explosion, but they were the least of Hisoka’s concerns right now. “Hisoka-” Leorio stammered, and stopped in his place when he saw Hisoka holding Y/n’s frail body, “Oh god.. I have a first aid kit in my car, just stay here.”

“Is she gonna be alright?!” Gon asked, although all Hisoka could do was just sit there.

Hisoka didn’t take his eyes off of Y/n, but he nodded slowly. He then gasped when she began to stir, his breathing picked up pace as he held her closer, “Y/n, oh baby are you ok?!” He wiped some dirt off of her cheek with his thumb. The girl chuckled weakly, looking at him with tired eyes, “You’re worried about me..” she teased. The magician sighed and kissed her forehead, “Why wouldn’t I be? I told you not to rush back in that building.” He scolded shakily, “You never listen to me..”

Y/n chuckled again, snuggling against Hisoka despite the pain that raked through her body, “Remember when we were kids?” She mumbled, her voice was a strained whisper, “I used to buy that gum you liked.. I only wanted it for the riddles on the wrapper, so I let you have the candy.” She smiled at the memory. Hisoka swallowed, a lump formed in his throat as he tried to hold back tears, “Y/n.. you’re gonna get help, ok?” He whispered.

Leorio rushed back with the first aid kit, “Her injuries are fatal..” he said, putting pressure on one of her wounds, “I can try to save her..”

“There is no trying, you have to save her.” Hisoka snarled viciously, his usual charisma had vanished, his mind was taken over by stress and panic. “Alright alright!” Leorio gulped as he broke a sweat, he honestly forgot how scary Hisoka could be for a second.. The magician turned his attention towards Y/n again, his eyes widened as he leaned closer to her, “Don’t close your eyes, baby.” He pleaded, “N-No.. Y/n..” his hands began to shake, Y/n’s eyes closed, for good this time. Hisoka’s mouth was agape and he couldn’t contain the tears that welled inside of him, “No..”

“I’m sorry- there was nothing I could’ve done, she-...” Leorio nervously looked at Hisoka, he was expecting the man to lash out at him or something but.. was he crying? He stood up to quietly step away from Hisoka and Y/n’s body. “She’s dead..?” Killua whispered, “I didn’t know he was that close to her..”

Hisoka choked, he pressed his forehead against hers and held her tightly. Quiet, shaky sobs left his lips, the tears rolled down his cheeks.

“We should leave him alone.. let him have some time..” Kurapika suggested as he began to walk.

Gon looked back at the scene for the final time, the image of Hisoka, holding Y/n’s dead body was burned into his memory.

Aside from Skimming Eye, which of your works do you like the most/are you most proud of?

Hi Lar (: thank you for your ask... and thank you for liking my fic T_T T_T T_T

I stress to add a caveat to this post that I have an extremely low opinion of myself and my fanfic, so I don't want this post to come off like bragging, and I'm usually mentally prepared for people to tell me my fanfic sucks these days, so overall talking about my fanfic in any positive way makes me feel really scared. I was really excited about Chapter 14 of The Distance Which Fools the Skimming Eye when I posted... and well, it didn't quite turn out the way I expected in reception.

If I'm taking that out of it though, and thinking purely from a craft perspective - which is much easier for me - I try to treat whatever I'm writing with a certain level of seriousness and at least try to make it a little clever and thematically driven. In some instances with prompts I deliberately went out of my way to make the prompt more interesting than first glance, but I find now I have too many fic ideas I'm working on to take prompts and I'm more 'free' with what I'm writing now.

So from a perspective like that, it's hard to choose favourites, because I know why I did certain things here and there and I enjoyed writing all of them, and nearly all of those fics are directly catering to my tastes, my own expectations, and the things I like playing with. If it's not clear, I don't write for popularity or other people. XD

On the other hand, Chapter 2 of Golden-faced is one of the few fics I've gone back and reread because it gave me heart-pain, you know when a fic gets you in the tummy and the chest, it does that to me and I don't know how, I think it's because I ran so concretely with the Wound of Love there lol, and the pacing is very much to how I like it, and the general Jaune-and-Cinderness.

The One Known by Many Names is also the one I really like because of the set-up and reversal and what I had in my head very specifically for the fic with the background I mentally established, and the Hades and Persephone flavour that's there, which is basically ummmm one of my favourite things ever when done correctly (when not done correctly, bane of my existence).

But I think recently Bunny Heart was a fic I verrrrrry much enjoyed writing because it was really... idficcy... like really appealing to the id of my favourite tropes, which I also attempted to ground thematically, so it made sense. The thing that really drives me mad about the conceivable Jaune/Cinder dynamic in particular is that a lot of stuff which seems too contrived, or doesn't make sense, or is too tropey, etc., just works so naturally with them - the way I write them is not the way I would other pairings, if that makes sense, it's very much specifically them. Like a tag on Home of No Hearth is 'Scheming characters means tropes happen on their own' just because that's basically it. Of course Cinder's going to be a possessive, sentimental freak holding onto Jaune's hoodie and be REALLY weird about it, she steals what she can and holds onto it for dear life lol, and if it so happens it's a metaphor for his heart or theirs...

It means that I can play with all the things I know are basically like brain candy and probably bad for me in the long run because I get chest pains writing about them and I get all of my favourite tropes I'm supposedly too mature for and actually romance should be boring and very cynical. Well how about NO I'm going to do WHATEVER I WANT!!! And it's going to make sense and be in character!!!!

The posts I made recently about Jaune and Cinder making sense together/being partners/being there for each other after they've been alone throughout the story is a persistent thing I enjoy playing with and I love the idea of them being extremely weird and intense about each other in a non-unhealthy way and I love writing all of that. I want my weird OTT romance and I want it now and I want romance without compromise. So that's the stuff I enjoy writing and getting to play with in particular. You can see for all of the serious intent with The Distance Which Fools the Skimming Eye the emotional core of it is one hundred percent that - it really is romance and compassion at any cost whatsoever, the steepest price with an uncompromising, priceless boon.

When I take my personal feelings out of it, it's much easier to talk about, as you can see.

But I like all of the fics I've posted and the ones I haven't posted. Part of what's difficult is that I can see my entire mental plan for what I intend to write and how the oneshots, multichapters etc. look like in that scheme, and I know how they all fit in together. I am intentionally writing and publishing things in a certain order. But it's difficult in the sense that, I suppose some people don't like oneshots for whatever reason, but I enjoy those to write as mental chewing gum, and because I want to see oneshots for Jaune/Cinder the way I write them, and because I'm working on bigger things beyond even The Distance Which Fools the Skimming Eye so I need to pace myself and take refreshers, and because I know how everything fits together in my head, if that makes sense. Dance of the Fall Maiden doesn't seem terribly popular, but I very much liked it at the time, and I've decided I'm expanding it into a longer story, so even things that aren't my topmost favourite - in the sense I feel vague embarrassment about that one - still contain interesting things to explore.

When I take out the personal feelings, writing fanfic brings me a lot of joy. I only hope other people can find that same joy...

Although my secret favourite which I still think about and makes me happy is The Wingspan of a Dream because I love the title and what it means thematically, I love Cinder in that story, I love the idea of Jaune and Cinder interacting in V6 - which yes, I have plans lol - and I love the tension of that entire scene and how I wrote it, but I can definitely see how it doesn't offer the same payoff as other fics I've published. I learnt a lot from it though and I realised I could actually write whatever I want with the ideas I enjoy exploring, prophecy and monsters and pain and joy, and that was really really helpful to me in continuing to open myself up.

So I've learnt a lot from posting other fic aside from The Distance Which Fools the Skimming Eye, which help remind me to continue doing what I'm doing and catering to my deepest, darkest, most sentimental and romantic desires. XD

i like my laugh a lot, or really even just my voice. it sounds exactly how i hoped it would sound lol. it's a joy i'm glad i was able to allow myself to experience. also my range is fucking hilarious and i find it very fun to play around with.

i like how my autism pokemonpilled me so hard that even when i'm at my lowest if i listen to the osts it genuinely makes me feel so much better. it's probably my 1# comfort out of everything else. so ig what i mean is, i like being autistic lol.

i like how determined i am to improve myself and my quality of life. what i mean is like...i grew up in a very bad environment and it messed me up kinda bad for a long time. but a few years ago i had a really big moment of, "am i just going to stay this way forever?" and ever since i've been trying really hard to unlearn everything and manage myself. i've really trained my brain to identify patterns, and i've been working on my overall mindset towards life, people, relationships, ect. it's honestly made everything so much better and i think i can say, all the troubles of the world aside, i do like being alive now.

i like my sense of style. i've spent a few years now curating my closet and figuring out what makes me comfortable and confident. i get a lot of compliments which now makes me really happy bc it feels like i'm getting an A+ in being fashionable LMAO. lots of colors makes me happy.

i like being a funny little guy. i like how i make everyone laugh and feel less stressed out. an old coworker told me i'm the emotional backbone of my workplace and it made me feel so happy. i've learned that small gestures can truly mean a lot, especially in difficult times. i know i cannot fix everyone's problems, but sometimes a little candy treat and a hug go pretty far.

Do you have an advent calendar this year? I got one with different nougats in it and the 2nd of December is of the “Nut” variety - my favorite.

To be honest, my absolute favorite holiday sweets are marzipan and nougat (even over chocolate-coated gingerbread)....my weakness is nougat-filled marzipan and don't give me marzipan potatoes for they will be guarded and devoured with a passion. Do you have a preference in those kinds of things?

I have already sent two Christmas parcels now and one of them will travel all the way to the USA for the next 14-20 days (well, now it's more or less 12.5-18.5 days but hey). The other one was supposed to be an advent calendar but I only remembered that Wednesday evening as I had wrapped it and put it on my desk weeks earlier and just needed a suitable box to post it in....typical chaotic behavior by yours truly 😅✌️ it will arrive soon and I imagine it will give joy even if it's slightly delayed.

As you can see, I enjoy giving gifts very much! What do you make of it - is it too much guesswork or does it just not as much fun as making experiences with each other or a secret third thing?

Dear Holiday Pal,

I adore the eloquence and joy in which you craft these messages. I feel like I’m receiving a handwritten letter instead of a tumblr ask. I hope your day tomorrow is a little brighter!

I do have an advent calendar! Just a regular chocolate one, as well as one my mother always makes for me and my siblings, even though two of us are adults now. She hangs little gold bags on a branch on the wall, and each satchel has little gifts inside.

I’m not the biggest fan of marzipan myself… I prefer candied almonds and homemade fudge. Marzipan potatoes?? I’ve never heard of such a thing but after a quick google I’m going to assume you’re german?

I haven’t gotten any gifts or cards yet… I planned on doing everything early and now it’s December and I haven’t even started, I’d better get on it now. I myself am in the US! And it is unfortunately quite complicated and expensive to send gifts to my european friends. I try to at least send cards, but it’s always such a shame when I see things I know my friends would love, but it costs triple the price of the gift just to ship it. I do enjoy giving gifts though, especially ones I’ve made. I prefer experiences, as do my family, but there’s also something about finding the perfect thing you know the other person will love. My brother is extremely difficult to buy for but my sister is extremely easy since we like almost all the same things. So it’s fun and can be stressful at the same time sometimes.

I just had cookie dough ice cream! From a shop in a cone, though I do love ben&jerry’s. hmmm my favourite ice creams… that’s difficult as ice cream is one of my favourite things lol. I like lots of flavours depending on my mood. Cherry garcia, any kind of cookie dough, matcha, pistachio, anything with brownie or real fruit. I’m a big big fan of real vanilla bean. One of my favourites I’ve had has been a green tea and cherry blossom ice cream with sweet cream and ube sauce. I also am biased to a combo I can only get in my hometown — a scoop of coffee oreo caramel and a scoop of coconut crunch. Grape nut ice cream is also to die for but I’ve only ever found it in jamaica. As for my least favourite, i am NOT a fan of mint choco lol.

I do not like loud noises. I have very sensitive ears. Im not too big on bright lights either. I have mild photosensitivity. On bright days, if I’m outside too long, the light starts to hurt my eyes and I get a very bad headache. Also I don’t like wearing bright colored clothing or shorts. I don’t like how I look in bright clothes, besides teal and cyan of course and I don’t like my legs exposed for some reason, I do t know. It just doesn’t feel right. I do not like homophobia or bigotry of any kind. Always be mindful and respectful of others, please. I am terrified of needles and I have an extreme fear of falling. So none of that for me! I’ll eat almost anything but I do not like black licorice, black jellybeans, stuffing and Swiss cheese. Baby Swiss is okay though. I do not like fighting, yelling or arguing either. It stresses me out and it gets me sick to my stomach. Not fist fighting but like arguing fights lol. I will throat punch an asshole. Now interesting facts! I am ambidextrous, I know how to pop a sick wheely on a quad, I am very much a lover, if I like you, I will purposefully go full on out of my way for you. I once saved up a lot of money just to fly out to cali to be with a guy I was dating at the time. So it’s safe to say i can be a bit of an affection whore lol. I’ve never had stitches and I’ve only fractured my middle finger. So honestly no broken bones, thank god. I’ve been held at gun point before and I’ve been shot with a BB gun. I collect bandannas, scarves, hoodies (I’m also a whore for hoodies too. I will steal yours if it’s comfy!) I also have ADHD too yay! So feel free to follow or message me at any time! welll, yesterday I got in a fight with a dude cause I didn't delete a post. I didn't want to and they kept on pressuring me to so I resorted to yelling at them and then they had a panic attack. So that was yesterday. Sorry about the no music for that day. I feel ok I guess... They probably feel like shit though. It was about them being possessive. The post, that is. I'm usually a reasonable person but I do have emotions and limits. I Guess I knew the right thing to do but I'm still gonna kvetch. Didn't really know them that well so if they cut me out it's no skin off my back. I hope they do whatever is best for them. Also TAKE A BREAK from that rhythm game! I don't want you to get arthritis or carpal tunnel! Those suck. You can hit the candy looking drum some other time.
